Echoes in the Snow

Rate this book
Olivia never imagined she would be trapped in a car with her ex-boyfriend, Jace, much less fighting to stay alive with him. But when a blizzard slams into the Wyoming back roads, their vehicle skids off the road and plunges them into the remote wilderness. No cell signal. Temperatures plummeting. No way out.

Injured, disoriented, and miles from help, they must rely on sheer grit and each other to survive the unforgiving terrain. As supplies dwindle and the cold tightens its grip, the mountain reveals its brutal truths. Isolation plays tricks on the mind. Old wounds resurface. The line between survival and surrender begins to blur.

With each passing hour, Olivia and Jace are forced to confront both the elements and the unresolved pain of their past. Trust is fragile. Hope is fleeting. The longer they remain trapped, the harder it is to tell whether the mountain wants them gone or has already claimed them.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I feel like the plot and the idea behind the book are really good. It drew me in. I had to stop reading with only two or three chapters left because I had to go somewhere. I thought about this book a lot while I was away, and I wanted to go back to it as soon as I could.

Unfortunately, there were a few parts of the book that felt a little too convenient. The main thing that stands out is that Jace has at least two things that he took on an airplane that I'm about 99% sure he would not be able to have on an airplane, especially because it seems like he only had a carry-on bag. Yet, these items are very helpful when Olivia and Jace are stranded. There were a few other things that felt off. Those sorts of things made this a 4-star book even though I did really enjoy reading it.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the ending. It wasn't the ending that I expected, which made it good in a sense. Yet, I also feel disappointed in some ways. I wanted it to be closer to the ending that I expected.

This book does have some swearing, including the f-bomb several times. There are a few sex scenes. Honestly, I don't know how graphic they got. When I realized what was happening, I skipped ahead. While there's no graphic violence, our two main characters both get seriously injured, and their injuries are at least mildly disturbing.

I received an ARC from BookSirens, and I left a voluntary review.

This book tells the story of olivia and jace once your standard couple in love until jace is deployed and comes back closed and not coping.

Jump forward oliva is to be the maid of honor at her best friends wedding then best man none other then her ex boyfriend Jace.

Traveling down to Wyoming and there is only one rental car left so Olivia and Jace are thrown together once again driving through a storm.

All is as well as can be expected until the crash.

Now they must fight to survive in unsurvivable conditions, out in the below zero temperatures miles for god knows where and injured. Will they survive.

This book was full of suspense, heartbreak and unexpected turns. It took me a little while to get into however once I got through the first couple of chapters into the heart of what the story was really about I was not going to sleep without finishing this book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
