EVERY VICTORY REQUIRES SACRIFICE. Rescued by a Mystic with no memory of his life prior to the event that should have ended it, Siaran becomes the ward of Prince Enris. He matures into a young man with all the privilege and protection of the Emerald Palace while the kingdom is ravaged by enemies.
Life in the palace on the mountain should have been peaceful. The disappearance of the king’s firstborn child haunts the corridors and hearts of the royal family. With the Cerulean Rose wilting, the kingdom’s divine protection falters. Siaran is desperate to do something to help.
An unsanctioned departure from the palace takes him on an adventure that brings the legend of the Violet Fly to life, making him the hero the kingdom needs. Wrestling with the unknowns of his past, Siaran’s restless soul leads to his captivity. Only one thing can save him - the woman he mistook for an enemy.
Fleeing for her life, Ishtara knows the hope for the kingdom rests in capturing the Violet Fly first. She convinces the imprisoned Siaran to help. Embarking on their quest, Siaran and Ishtara discover truths about themselves that change everything. The history they thought they knew unravels in their attempt to save their world. The only way to restore peace is to find the truthful blend of history and legend. Can their choices in the present undo the mistakes of the past?
Violet Fly is the third book in The Fates Trilogy following Scarlet Oak. It is best read in order. This story is a clean fiction, romantasy with closed door, kisses only romance.
Demi lives in California but grew up in beautiful New England. As a married woman with three adult children, she enjoys spending her time crafting novels that enhance the truth of Scripture. Her characters are biblically based and entirely captivating. She launched Devoted Steps Ministry in 2016. Besides keeping up with the daily prayers and devotionals on the devotedsteps.com website, she works at a local church. She is an avid reader as well as a writer. Long walks around the lake offer her space for inspiration. Besides biblical fiction, she also writes speculative Christian fiction novels.
Siaran's and Ishtara's story is a wonderful conclusion to this thought-provoking trilogy.
I love that both FMC and MMC think they are fighting toward one cause, only to discover they are embroiled in a battle much bigger than themselves, their individual kingdoms, or even their time in history. I'm also a fan of the many pithy sayings strewn throughout that were both beautiful and profound.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to see the characters that we've come to know in the first two books - both good and evil - complete their growth arcs as much as I enjoyed the way the story comes full circle in a redemptive, impactful way.
If you love unpredictable plots, philosophical reflections, action, and a swoon-worthy romance, this is the series for you :-)
