Some say I’m too soft and cuddly for a guy who wields bone saws and strings friendship necklaces with human eyeballs—but I just call that work-life balance.

And honestly, I love my job as the Costellos’ reaper.

Lately, though, my biggest problem isn’t the dismembered corpses, it’s something far more seductive. Georgiy Sokolov. He smells mouth-watering, like disinfectant and fancy aftershave. Plus, he comes with a stern promise to ruin me with surgical precision—and believe me, I will be begging him for it.

If only I could get him to return my texts…

But when a shadowy evil threatens my found family, and my nightmares stir up repressed memories that somehow feel connected, Georgiy and I will stop at nothing to protect what is ours.

Armed with my bloody handsaw and Georgiy’s dainty scalpel, we try to uncover the dark truths about the past that haunts me and the Death that stalks me. It’s all very romantic.

So if you've come to witness my final chapter…good luck, friend.

My name’s Bane. Say it while you still have your tongue.

His Reaper is an entertaining conclusion to this mafia series that is full of surprises and great character moments of depth and resilience. I was always curious about the origin of Bane and how he became so interested in the darker aspects of humanity. His story did not disappoint. I was invested in his journey with the family and Georgiy. Bane and Georgiy have great chemistry, and their unique connection is further explored in his story, which leads to many steamy moments that are fully original and true to both characters.

Overall, I really enjoyed this entry and how unique and true to the characters of Bane and Georgiy. I also love all of the little hints at potential spin-offs of other characters who have yet to have their HEA. I love exploring more in this world and cannot wait for what comes next.

Read in another buddy read with the always lovely Lilly ❤️

Okay, this was me and Lilly giving Bane a chance. We have both basically hated Bane up until now.

I'm sorry, I just really do not get the love for him, by the readers or Cora Rose herself.

So did this do enough to make us love him?

Well, not quite.

It made me...like him, most of the time. I definitely understood him a great deal better, by getting his back story and what he went through. Was it entirely believable for that to be why he had some arrested development going on? Eh...a bit, maybe. To the extreme that Bane...is? As an adult? Idk, I didn't quite buy it.

Georgiy, I will say, was great for Bane. I really liked him and his no nonsense attitude and how he gave Bane a much needed firm hand but also was gentle and loving with him later on. The ultra possessiveness didn't hurt either 😉

I think what annoys me about Bane, at his core...is the lack of boundaries, AND how everyone around him just...allows it. Also, honestly...almost a hyper sexuality to him. Now of course I love highly sexual characters, I do, and I begrudge no one being very sexual. But I think it gets to a point, honestly, where it gets to be a bit too much.

And Bane? Seemed to be turned on by every man he met, and find every man he met to be sexy, and not in an appreciative way, but like he was actually attracted to them and turned on by them. It got tiring, to be honest. No one person is attracted to every single person they meet that's just not a thing. Even with those who maybe Bane wasn't as "into" as others, there would be thoughts or outright comments from him on them being hot, to their face, and wondering about having sex with them, or at the very least, watching them have sex. Like...it gets to a point where it gets a bit too OTT.

And everyone also just kinda...indulges him and his weird ass whims, even if they personally don't like or care for what he's doing. Because he's...Bane? I guess? What exactly is so special about him to allow that? I have no idea.

There's also this like...childlike innocence to Bane that doesn't really compute for me with his absolute unhinged psychopathy. Like I have no problem with the fucked up darkness of a character being into the gore and the violence, the murder and torture, etc, but...he's also at the same time like a little kid, all innocence and naivety and obliviousness and it was a bit OTT and ridiculous at times.

Everyone treats him like their pet or their child too, like aww yes it's okay Bane to cross boundaries and invade our personal space and get on our bed and cuddle us like a dog! No problem, even though you're an adult human being! Oh sure you can watch us have sex even if we aren't into that because you're Bane! Just let us know beforehand! 🙄

Like a lot of this about Bane, and about how everyone around him treats him, I cannot take. Like...gimme a break? Have him face consequences for his actions as all adults should? Stop babying this psychopath? Stop coddling him? Like set some damn boundaries? I don't know, that I still could not stand, even by the end of this. Those were all the problems I had with him before his book, and they persisted in this.

Did I understand him more, did I like him more? Yeah, sure. Did the underlying annoyances go away? Nah.

Georgiy helped curb some of Bane's....tendencies at times. Him putting so much energy and attention on Georgiy also meant he didn't bother the others so much, and he started sleeping with (literally sleeping, not having sex, I mean) Georgiy eventually instead of sneaking into the other couples' beds.

But also I could have done without his perpetual OTT horniness, to the point where we were halfway through this and he still was just watching others, taking his dick out in front of everyone and jacking off watching others. Like? And he even contemplated letting Jake give him a blowjob and I'm like...can he kind of get over being attracted to others at this point? If he wants to be a voyeur still, fine, but does he have to be like "If it weren't for Georgiy, I'd totally sleep with them" like?

I know he loves Georgiy and once Georgiy commands monogamy between them and they actually start sex, that Bane is good and will never sleep with another, but I really wanted him to not want to, all on his own eventually, not just because Georgiy demands it. It's like Bane was fine and happy to once they were really getting together, but I personally would prefer him to be over feeling attraction to others by the end of this and he kind of really wasn't? He wouldn't do anything, but if he and Georgiy weren't a thing....idk if he would wait that long to do something with others, idk. I didn't like that.

All these little things here and there really contributed to my 3.5 rating. Also some very cringe lines here or there, and especially at the end in the epilogue with that

All that complaining doesn't mean I hated this, though. Like I said, this did do enough to make me like Bane overall, and not hate him anymore, and to understand him and where he as a person came from. I loved Georgiy and how his seriousness balances out Bane's wildness.

I loved how respectful and good Bane was about Georgiy's boundaries (seeing as he isn't good with anyone else's) and he waited for consent from him to touch him and more. That was very sweet of him, and he and Goergiy, despite them both being murdering psychopaths, but in vey different ways, could be quite sweet together, especially in the second half of this.

The chemistry was also quite good between these two, and once they got to sexy stuff, it was really good, I loved their sex scenes.

The plot was interesting enough too, and I love love loved what Georgiy did for Bane in the climax, especially as he did it

So there was the love between them, I felt that very well and the "I love you" exchanges between them was very well earned. I adored those sweet moments between them, and how well they played off each other despite how different they were from each other.

Bane was his exception to a lot of his rules, and I loved that.

So there was positives to this, and these two and their connection was a big reason for me rounding up instead of down. In the end with a romance, I am looking the most for the couple to be the best part of a story, and if it's a strong part of it, a lot else can be forgiven in a big way.

So this certainly wasn't the best in this series, and Lilly and I were both kind of happy to be done with Bane in a big way. I know he'll pop up from time to time in future books, but one book as the main is enough for him. I wanted to see if I could come to like him or hate him less with this book, and that was overall achieved, so that was another plus.

But man Bane is still, at the end of the day, annoying as hell. And also when the hell did Anthony start to see him as a son? What the hell even is the timeline? What is Bane's age? What is Georgiy's? Why the need to be vague on that?

The best we get is that Bane escaped when he was a kid, was on the street for awhile and then just one day popped up in Anthony's house - and for some reason Anthony didn't kill him on site??? - and my only guess for why he survived is....maybe he was a teenager? Too young for Anthony to just kill? So my best guess is that Bane is in his mid to late 20's? Who knows. And Georgiy must be late 30's or early 40's, but who knows about that too.

Why some authors feel the need to be vague about their character's ages and timelines, I'll never know.

Still, this was overall a solid read, at the end of the day. And if you're one who loves Bane for some reason, I'm sure you'll absolutely love this. It just needed some work, in my opinion.

I am excited for future couples though - and I bet we'll get a spin-off, most likely - like I can't wait for Jax and Kit, Jake and Teddy, maybe Casey with someone...there's quite a few possible future couples, so I'm excited and looking forward to those.

Until then! 😘

This book was one of my most anticipated reads this year and I read it in one sitting 🙈

I was so eager to read more about Bane, our crazy menace, since the first time he was mentioned. His character was so hilarious and interesting, and I loved to read from his POV and see how his mind works 🤭

Georgiy is his perfect match. Sure, he is way more controlled with his emotions, but that just added to their explosive and slightly insane dynamic 💥

I really ate this story up like crazy, Bane really is the absolute best 🤣

This book contains some triggers, so please check the tw-list before reading.

I need more from this amazing series 😍

Other person drama: Bane and Georgiy started their thing off page before the book started, Georgiy declared Bane was his, Bane admitted to himself he was done for and Georgiy was it for him. Then Georgiy didn't give Bane enough attention so Bane acted like he was single and had sex with 4 other guys. Ugly start.

2.75 stars

Bane works as a torturer, a disposer of bodies for his "mafia" found family. He was abused his entire childhood and raised in a feral way, hidden away underground. He doesn't remember much from his childhood because he's blocked it out. Georgiy used to be a successful heart surgeon, but he was forced to work on a patient, who died because the treatment was so risky, and then he was tortured by the bad guys that made him operate. He left his practice after that and he's been working for mafia as a killer. Georgiy can't stand to be touched because of his trauma, and wants everything clean. Bane is the messiest of people, often caked in blood, but he captures Georgiy's attention. He claims Bane. He tortures him sexually/plays with him, then he gets busy and leaves Bane alone for too long and Bane hooks up with others, and Georgiy punishes him. The plot of the book is that they are going after some people that are threatening their drug business and lives, and it ends up being tied to Bane's childhood.

I had been really looking forward to Bane's story, but Geez, it got off to a horrible start and it did not deliver. I almost dnf'd, and I never dnf. I stuck it out because this is a series and I didn't want to miss out on anything for the other couples. But it took me a full week to read this book, when usually I read books in 3 hours. But I just couldn't bring myself to want to read it.

To me, I hate cheating in a romance. And also I really hate when an author starts the relationship between the MCs off page. I hate when the author deprives us of getting to see the first meeting and first hookup, because it I love the dawning of feelings, the tension, getting let inside the characters' minds as it happens. It's a real missed opportunity to endear the couple to us readers.

Another flaw with the book, is that there is so much exhibitionism and voyeurism that the sexual tension in the book is not concentrated/focused on the main couple. Bane is just horny all the time, triggered by everyone/everything. There is nothing different/special/better about the attraction between the MMCs. One of the things I love about Anthony and Tatum, is that Anthony treats Tatum so differently than everyone else, they both feel so intensely for each other and it's different from any past relationships. Bane just wanted a relationship, and it didn't matter who it was with.

There were some moments that I enjoyed, but none of them were really between the MMCs. Which means the romance really wasn't hitting. I liked the moments between Agatha and Bane. I liked Bane's relationships with his found family.

Some notable moments:

I liked this moment of emotional vulnerability from Bain. "He couldn’t have… Did he just leave me all alone with a ring burning a hole in my pocket? One that I made just for him? It seems he has. It seems I’ve been left once again. Something ugly unfurls inside me, and the walls start to close in. Suddenly, this place doesn’t feel as homey as I’ve made it. I swipe at my eyes and crawl under my desk. I pull my knees into my chest and press my face into my hands. Just for a while. I’m going to rest here for a while."

I love Agatha. "That makes me giggle, and when we arrive in the kitchen, Agatha stops what she’s doing and eyes us. “Seems he’s made you happy now, bug?” she asks, and I nod. “He’s mine now.” “Fine,” she huffs. “You can live, Mr. Sokolov. And also, have some of my banana bread.” “I don’t like bananas or bread.” “Then maybe you should die,” she spits."

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.

BANE HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! And he is absolutely as unhinged as you’d expect 😍🔪
Bane and Georgiy have a complicated relationship. It’s obsessive and explosive, yet Georgiy isn’t willing to give it all up for Bane the way Bane is ready to do for him. These two figure out their relationship in the strangest of ways, while also navigating the issue of a dark rival and confronting Bane’s past.

This book has:
-found family (you’ve gotta read the other books first)
-dark humour and gruesome violence
-very k*nky relationship and lots of spicy
-Bane likes pain 👀
-touch starved / touch averse MCs

This book was a wild ride. It’s mostly from Bane’s point of view. And Bane is CHAOTIC. I think the plot also reflected the chaotic mechanisms of Bane’s mind. In this book we also get more insight into Bane’s past. Loved that!

Cora Rose’s characters and found family are so WILD, but undoubtedly fun. The way they all act just doesn’t line up with what you’d expect normal people to do, and that makes it so much fun. I had one or two moments that made me chuckle 😁

I gotta say, as always, I love Anthony in this book ❤️ he’s so my favourite character, and I love how he is with Bane.

I was so glad to finally have this one! Definitely pick it up when you can! (But read the rest of the series first!)

This is finally Bane and Georgyi’s story ❤️ I’ve been waiting for this since the very first book in the Unexpected Twisted series.

It genuinely felt like Cora adapted her writing to match Bane’s personality, and I loved every single word of it. The story has so many layers. I always knew Bane’s past wasn’t an easy one, but the fragments we’re given made me feel deeply for him. At the same time, we finally get more insight into Georgyi’s past—and I definitely did not see that twist coming.

The dynamic between Bane and Georgyi is intense and anything but convenient. It made me sweat and squirm in the best way possible.

This series is absolutely best read in order, as many storylines from the previous three books come together and find their resolution here. But trust me—go read it. It’s so worth it.

And Cora… will we get to find out what happens with Jake & Teddy and Jax & Kit as well? 👀❤️

OH MY HOLY HELL ON A BISCUIT… This book was next-level, lie-down-on-the-floor, stare-at-the-ceiling good. I’ve loved Bane from the very first moment he graced the pages and would happily accept all eyeballs he has ever gifted, past, present, and future offerings. I have never wanted to hug a fictional character more in my entire life. Like… wrap him up. Bubble wrap if needed. No returns. He’s mine now. At this point, I accept my fate. Any and all torture from Georgiy is fine. I have made my peace.

These two together absolutely should not work. Night and day. Pure opposites. And yet let me tell you it worked. It worked so well. Like, oh… that’s what we’re doing here. Fantastic. Sign me up. I’ll take seven more rounds of these two, thanks.

The pure possessiveness. The blood and gore. The absolutely unhinged but gorgeous jewellery. I want it all. Hand it over. I am seated, feral, and emotionally unavailable for the foreseeable future.

Y’all genuinely need to read this. Drop everything. Cancel plans. Sacrifice an eyeball if necessary. I promise it’s a fair trade.

OMG my sweet, sweet baby Bane. He's been my favorite since we met him and he was everything I thought and more. I laughed, I cried, I raged. He's so perfect and deserves all the love in the world. He's so much more complex than he's let on. His life wasn't easy, and the way he is now is a result of his past. He comes off as a beautiful, free spirit. One who sees the truth that others miss. He cares about his family so deeply, and will do anything for them. But underneath the exterior he shows the world, is a scared boy who only wants to be loved and understood. He gets that with Georgiy. Georgiy fights his feelings for the fear of what he'd do, but he is exactly what Bane needs. Together, they give each other the bits and pieces they were too afraid to show to others, and bring out the sides they thought they'd lost, or no longer possessed. There is a deep sense of care from Georgiy toward Bane. The way he handles Bane, it's clear that he's obsessed with him the same way Bane is of Georgiy. They have a dynamic that seems wild and shouldn't make sense, but they do. Georgiy knows who Bane is as a person, and accepts him completely. Bane is so consumed by Georgiy, but his love and obsession don't change, or diminish, who he is. He still wants things, and voices them, but knows who he's meant for. Gosh, I could go on and on, but I'm going to stop here and leave with: Go read it. Fall in love with them like I did. They're perfect.

This was so good!! It was hilarious, heartwarming and heartbreaking all at the same time! Bane was such a sweet murdery menace with big feelings for those he loves and Georgiy was the calm Bane needed. Bane had a childhood no one should have to endure and Georgiy had his own horrific experience but they both refused to let these things define them and keep them from becoming the men the wanted to become. Both of these men had every reason not to trust, open up and let the other in but they found safety and comfort in one another and it was sweet to see. They not only made space for one another but they bonded with others and built a great family. The spicy moments were inventive and kept me intrigued on what they would come up with next and I loved how supportive and caring everyone was. I really enjoyed this book!

Bane baby finally got his book 🥹🥹 and honestly? I’ve never been prouder of a fictional unhinged menace.

Like everyone else, I’ve been waiting for his story since book one. Everything we’d seen of him promised something absolutely feral, and wow… it delivered. This book is completely unhinged, wildly unrealistic, full of creative unaliving left and right... and I drank up every single drop (yes, pun fully intended).

Bane finally finds his man. His Reaper. His mate. His hard-earned HEA. And I could not be happier for him, he deserves every scrap of love he gets.

Do yourself a favor and read the rest of the series first to get the full "Bane Experience™". Trust me, it hits harder that way. 🫶🏻

PS: I almost forgot to mention Georgiy! He’s… fine, I guess 😅
Kidding. He’s absolutely perfect for Bane.

I felt disappointed and ended up DNFing this at 60%, which made me sad because I was genuinely excited for Bane’s book.
There were just too many side characters. The plot was all over the place, and keeping track of everyone made it confusing. It felt over the top in a bad way.
The spice was okay, but I didn’t feel any chemistry between Bane and Georgiy. They said they’d met before at a cabin where Bane confessed things, but we never got to read that scene. I wish we’d actually seen that moment instead of just hearing about it.

When Bane met Georgiy Sokolov, he knew immediately that he was it for him. A butcher in his own right, Georgiy takes down his victims with precision and poise. The only problem is that he's a little uptight about, well, everything. Bane knows what he's doing, and he knows how to have fun. So what if blood goes everywhere? He still gets the answers he needs and can make jewelry for his friends out of the leftovers. When Georgiy shows up on Anthony’s estate to help solve the mystery of who is behind all of the bodies and the new, deadly drug, Pink, Bane is overjoyed. But Georgiy is harder to read than ever, and Bane isn't sure whether Georgiy actually likes him or just can't stand that Bane is messy. Georgiy certainly has his work cut out for him to get back in Bane's good graces. And on top of everything else, the closer Bane and his friends get to answers, the more Bane feels like this is all his fault. He doesn't remember much from his past, but the more this mess points them toward San Francisco, the more Bane can feel his past coming back to haunt him. But all he can do is hope that they will finally have some answers and that his family will forgive him for bringing chaos on their doorstep. Georgiy knows that all Bane wants is to belong, and despite his resistance, Bane has worked his way into Georgiy's heart. Bane is his, and he will destroy anyone who touches him.

Ahhh, this book was so freaking good! Georgiy was such an interesting character. He seemed like an old soul and wanted everything in its place, the complete anathema to Bane's chaos gremlin personality. But even when he acted all aloof, he was out for blood against anyone who even might have breathed wrong in Bane's direction. I loved that he was so possessive and that he was able to soothe the chaos in Bane and give him everything he needed. I absolutely loved the tattoo scene. It was unexpected but perfectly shows how feral even perfect Georgiy can get. I appreciated that Georgiy's personality was like a dad who didn't want a cat but ends up loving the cat. He definitely met his match in Bane.

But let me tell you, Bane stole the show. I wasn't sure how he was going to be written because he's all sunshine and golden retriever but will butcher a body without a thought, but honestly, his perspective was my favorite. It was kind of himbo meets too smart for his own good. I loved his thoughts on things and how he took every negative about Georgiy and made it a positive. I loved how sweet he was with everyone and that all his friends just accepted hugs and cuddles and bent over backwards to keep him happy. And I really, really loved that he actually stood up for himself when Georgiy was being cruel and dismissive. Bane knows what he's worth, at least when it comes to Georgiy. I also loved his whole story arc, especially as his past came to light. It was gut wrenching. I hated seeing all of that come back to haunt him, but I loved how he came out of it stronger.

I loved all of the side characters making an appearance. I hope more couples will get books! I loved all of the humor. It definitely kept me laughing! I loved the plot of this book. It was well developed and well paced and gave me all the feels and surprises. And then on top of that the spice was hella hot. I loved all of the creative ways Georgiy was intimate with Bane as he worked himself up to the real deal, and then I loved that he just couldn't get enough. The romance is a little more muted than in the other books, but it was still so, so freaking good, and I couldn't put it down.

This was definitely one of my favorites in this series! Bane was already a favorite character of mine, and I was so glad to see him get an HEA. Overall I give this one 4.5/5 🌟.

I have been waiting for this book since book 1 and I am SO HAPPY this showed up in my inbox! ❤️

Bane is an absolute menace and I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! It was literally insta-love from me from day dot and that love has only gotten bigger now that I have read his book.

I would say I would love to live inside his head but he is just so unapologetically free its adorable!
I spent 90% of the time reading his POV's with a huge smile on my face because - if you didn't notice - I am little obsessed with him.
Probably as much as he is with Georgiy and Georgiy with him.

The obsession they both have for each other is on another level, you thought the previous books obsession was huge...wait until you read this!
It was everything I wanted from Bane's story and then some!

Georgiy and Bane are PERFECT for each other! The way Georgiy just gets Bane is amazing and the way he knows what Bane needs to heal or to feel or to just not think its honestly beautiful. Georgiy is somewhat unhinged in his methods but its Bane and we all know Bane's way of coping with things is different and Georgiy will always give Bane what he needs - even allowing Bane to touch him which he HATES but does it because its for his Bane 😫❤️
Their relationship growth is stunning to read, Bane barrelled his way into Georgiy's life and although Georgiy was a little cold to begin with, he soon becomes obsessed with Bane - like we all do! And to see their relationship grow and the character development from both of them is just 🤌🏼

The follow on from the other books with the drama with Henry is everything i wanted, and the outcome was brilliantly executed. The plot twists and the backstory of Bane was written to perfection - i mean its Cora....of course its going to be perfect!

I love the new characters we see and I really hope Jax and Kit get a book because I am like Bane when it comes to those two - frothing at the mouth!

I couldn't put this book down and it will most definitely be one that I re-read more than once. The wait was most definitely worth it!

This is a dark mafia rom com, featuring Bane and Georgiy Sokolov, and is book four in the Unexpectedly Twisted series.

Bane is a deadly but surprisingly soft reaper who becomes fixated on the alluring surgeon Georgiy Sokolov. When a dark threat endangers his found family, the two team up to confront the past and fight what’s coming.

Wow. This one was so frigging unhinged, in the best way possible. I was expecting Bane to be OTT but it was so much better than I ever imagined. Bane and Georgiy together were perfection, wrapped up in a stabby stabby wrapper. It wasn’t just these two though, it was the whole found family - I was so shocked at one point I couldn’t even get my cackling out - but I was cackling on the inside so hard - shock and awe goodness. There is some serious dark themes in this book too, but overall it’s a dark sexy ride. I seriously couldn’t put it down.

Things to expect in this book are:
Book 4 in series

this was so unhinged. i knew it would be since it was bane and georgiy’s book but i was still shocked by the insanity.
bane is one of my favorite cora rose characters and i’ve been WAITING for this one. it was definitely everything i expected it to be and more. he is my sweet baby angel and i will not tolerate anyone being mean to him. i got so frustrated at georgiy sometimes because he was so reluctant when it came to showing bane affection. i do understand why he had issues with touch and intimacy though so i couldn’t stay mad. when they finally admit their feelings? i was so excited!! they had so many sweet and tender moments during the second half of the book i was OBSESSED.
the k!nks were ones that i usually don’t read about and i wasn’t a fan of most of them, but that didn’t take away from the story to me and it made sense for their characters to be honest.
i liked all the cameos we got and i kept picking up on the foreshadowing of couples we will see in the future and i cannot wait to read more about them (especially teddy 🥺)

I’m positive that anyone who has read the Unexpectedly Twisted series has been patiently waiting for Bane’s book. This was so worth the wait! I spent 90% of this book laughing and 10% feeling emotional. Bane was everything and more than I could have hoped for. I love this man so much—he’s unhinged, crazy, outrageous, sweet, and extremely lovable. I’m so glad he found Georgiy. This book made me love and appreciate the Costello family even more. I finished it with a smile, knowing Bane got his HEA.

This is book 4 in the Unexpectedly Twisted Series it follows Bane and George! I ate this book right up! It was so good. The only thing I wish I did was read the other three books in the series first. You definitely don’t need to but, me personally I wish I did because, I fell in love with Bane so fast. Plus all the side characters in this book are so lovable I will definitely be going back to read the other books.

Bane has so much trauma and so much hurt and doesn’t realize how loved he is. 😭 The tense with Bane and George is so good! I loved the push and pull with them and watching George let go and be with Bane.

Also the plot was crazy. Everything unraveled precisely at the right time. The spice was spicy in this whole book! ❤️‍🔥🥵
10/10 Recommend! 👌🏼👌🏼

We all knew Bane’s book was going to be the definition of chaos and this definitely lived up to that expectation. Bane’s love language is gifting body parts to people and that’s not even the tip of the iceberg.

I really love the dynamic between Bane and Georgiy. They could not be more different and their personalities balance each other perfectly: Georgiy grounds Bane and Bane forces Georgiy out of his comfort zone. The touch starved/touch averse dynamic between them was so interesting, I loved seeing Georgiy bring down his walls to give Bane what he needed.

The plot is absolutely action packed. We get a lot about Bane’s past in this, which really helps to understand why he is the way that he is. Bane and Georgiy OBSESSED with each other and will do anything (and that really means anything) to keep the other safe. There is a LOT of torture in this.

Yeah, that was great, I need a book for Jax and Kit now, please and thank you. Also, this cover is stunning and I can’t stop staring at it.

⭐ 4.5/5

Bane's book is finally here!!! Like everyone else, I have loved Bane since he was first introduced and have been impatiently waiting for his book.

And it was absolutely worth the wait. It was chaotic, heartbreaking, spicy, and sweet all rolled into one.

I love how messy Bane is and Georgiy loves him for it anyways. Loved learning more about their backstories and why they both are the way they are. Bane and Georgiy were a perfect balance.

I love this little found family Cora has created in this series and want about 24 more books about these characters.

His Reaper

Bane & Georgiy

Dark romcom
Touch starved
Voyeurism
High Heat
Taboo Found Family
Ropes, cages, O Control

Oh, my sweet Bane.

I could not wait for his story. We have seen so much of him, I had always wondered about him.

I was not prepared. While this story is funny as we have come to expect from a dark romcom by Cora Rose. It is also emotional. Bane has been through serious trauma. Oh my heart, I just wanted to hug him.

The found family in this was everything. He has everything supporting him, I loved how Anthony stepped up and became almost a father figure and Agatha the Mother figure. He had so much love and support that rallied with him. I loved it.

Georgiy was incredible, His Reaper, his man who was willing to take apart the world for Bane.

This was everything I wanted for Bane and more.

Georgiy and Bane are so uniquely obsessive and possessive, but it truly suits them. They are perfect for each other. Unhinged and wild but sweet and tender in their own way.

This was wonderful.

My heart is full knowing Bane is happy

“You are a lucky man, umnyashka. To have so many who love you.”

So thankful for this arc

I’m sad to report that I didn’t really like it. I know it’s Cora rose. But it was way over the top. I expected it to be, but for some reason it was too much and not in a fun way.

✨ “He’s chaos. He’s control. Together? Pure destruction.” ✨

Gahhh His Reaper absolutely ruined me 😮‍🔥 Like… excuse me while I emotionally recover because WOW. I’ve been obsessed with baby Bane ever since The Silencer. The eyeball obsession. The bone jewellery he gifts the people he loves (unhinged… yet somehow deeply heartfelt). And the mystery around him?? I have been DYING to know more. Everything about his past was locked down tight, so waiting for this book was honestly painful.
Worth it? Fuck. Yes.

Oh Bane 🖤 my sweet, feral, chaotic baby. I fell in love with him the second he appeared, but getting inside his head? Learning why he is the way he is? My heart could not cope. He’s intense, chaotic, and endearing in the most unexpected ways—but also so broken. All he wants is to be loved, to be chosen, to be seen for who he truly is… even when he doesn’t fully know that himself yet. His chaotic energy is unmatched and I 100% need him as my unhinged bestie.

Enter Georgiy 😮‍💨 Cold. Stoic. Controlled. Very much “everything has its place.” The complete opposite of Bane’s beautiful chaos. Where Bane is impulse and instinct, Georgiy is restrained and calculated. BUT the way this man steps up, claims Bane, and shows him what it really means to be chosen?? I was DONE. Completely melted. And what he calls Bane? Had me giggling every single time.

Let’s talk about the chemistry because HOLY HELL 🔥🔥
The tension. The obsession. The way they collide and somehow fit perfectly? Absolutely feral. They match each other in the most explosive, addictive way.

And once again, the found family steals my heart 🖤 This series shines because of the loyalty, the ride-or-die energy, and the way they show up for each other no matter what. Exactly how it should be.

All I can say is… READ IT.
🖤 Bane + Georgiy forever 😮‍🔥

Bane is unhinged, he is a killer, makes jewelry of bones, and he’s so adorable he loves cuddles.
He’s Georgiy’s property, his ass says so.

Georgiy Sokolov is a killer like Bane, he hates cuddling. After Bane was attacked and hurt, he moved into the Costello residence to take care of Bane and end those who hurt his property.

Bane is super sensitive, he can’t handle being rejected, he’s been through so much trauma, he’s extremely vulnerable.
Everyone from the Costellos cuddles with Bane, they know he needs it. Except Georgiy, who refused bodily contact. He keeps Bane at a distance, and Bane can’t take it anymore.

Georgiy is a former skilled surgeon with a certain past; he’s so buttoned-up, so clean, and so rigid!
He has to distance himself from Bane. Ha! As if he can.
Georgiy is obsessed with Bane and is hugely protective. Tiny little step by step he let Bane in, because Bane is irresistible, but Georgiy is always in control.

When Bane is been attacked again, the Costellos are one front, with Georgiy in front of them.
They will find and end the ones who hurt Bane!
Georgiy is glorious as his obsessive reaper!

It’s a bloody dark story but there’s also fun, unhinged stuff and multiple smexy times to find!
Overall, it was an awesomely entertaining and oppressively written story, harsh, dark, the end made me choke up. Their bonding was extraordinary!

Trigger warnings are fair here. Trauma, bloody scenes, gore, body parts flying around, did I say bloody scenes? Yup, they are here!

His Reaper by Cora Rose is the fourth and final book in the Unexpectedly Twisted series. In this book we finally get Bane’s story and it was definitely worth the wait. His Reaper is a dark MM romcom that combines humor, heat and psychopathic behavior that no one but Cora Rose can accomplish. His Reaper has a touch starved MMC, voyeurism, cages, ropes and found family.

Bane has been the most enigmatic and mysterious character of this series in my opinion and this book really helped wrap up his backstory. As the reader we get to find out why Bane is. And while His Reaper does deal with some heavy topics, the storyline around those topics ensures the atmosphere remains more light than dark. Bane’s newest and most reluctant obsession is Dr. Georgiy Sokolov. He was once an acclaimed and highly soughtafter heart surgeon who has since left the medical practice to utilize his skills for more nefarious reasons.

I loved Bane and Georgiy so much. While Bane is definitely the psychopath we all fell in love with in prior books, he is also the sunshine to Georgiy’s grumpy. They are opposites attract in every way. The internal speak from Georgiy’s perspective throughout the book does such a great job at showing us just how much Georgiy struggles, not only with himself but with his new feelings for Bane. This book will have you giggling, sweating and cheering for two psychopaths to find their HEA. I gave it 4.5 stars.

I have been waiting for this book since His Prince and it didn’t disappoint!!!

I LOVE BANE WITH MY HEART AND SOUL! He can do no wrong and anyone who is mean to him will have to go through me and the whole Costello family oh and his Reaper Georgiy of course!

I seriously knew this book was going to make me laugh and break my heart at the same time! These two broken men finding what they need in each other, gosh I swear I don’t know how Cora does it the feels I felt were so good. I ached for Bane such a sensitive soul with so many broken parts, he just needed someone to show him that he is truly perfect the way he is and show him all the affection he absolutely needs.

I was not ready for how much Georgiy story would affect me a man not wanting any touch falling for a man that needs it! Watching him fight himself broke my heart. While he definitely needed a kick in the butt early on i understood him and the struggle he was going through!

These two together will be one of my absolute favorite couples ever, they are so perfect together. Watching Georgiy be so possessive over Bane and Bane riling him up all the time was literally my most favorite parts.

Of course the spice was amazing! And this family I swear they treat Bane with so much care and love I was bawling over it! Bane is the heart and soul of that family.

I’ll miss them until next time!
