Violet Hamers knew from an early age that writing was something she always wanted to do. Growing up, her time was divided between writing stories and taking part in theatrical plays, that she used to perform exclusively for her family and friends.
As she loves reading and writing, she is rarely found without a book in her hands, or her fingers glued to a keyboard. Her love for reading led her to Jane Austen's world--the regency historical world that won her over in comparison to any other genre!
Even though being an author is not a simple task, her dream of becoming one has finally come true as she is currently writing Regency novels...romances her readers will love!
Follow Violet into a world of romance and fairytale, of passion and intrigue, and live unforgettable happy-ever-afters along with her protagonists that she guarantees you will remember forever.
Her Twisted Duke, book eleven in Violet Hammers’ The Dukes of Sins series, is the best installment yet. Not only does it deliver the most electric romance of the series—brimming with undeniable chemistry between the main characters—but it also features some of the sharpest, most deliciously subtle insults ever concealed behind the impeccably polite language of Regency nobility. Violet Hammers way with the rich nuances of Regency England's language is one of the many reasons why she remains a favorite historical romance writer.
Another reason this particular novel caught my attention is the extra intrigue and mystery layered within the depths of this story. From the shocking, seemingly senseless event in the prologue to the surprising resolution at the very end, this novel captured my attention completely. With its heightened suspense, layered intrigue, and expertly placed plot twists, Her Twisted Duke is superbly written and impossible to put down.
This appears to be the final book in the series, and I truly hate saying goodbye to the many “book friends” I’ve come to love. Violet has a gift for creating rich, recurring characters who grow and mature across the series, allowing readers to form a real connection with them. Watching Nora develop from a spirited child into a young woman ready for love made her story feel especially meaningful.
Nora and Godric were my favorite couple. Their transformation from adversaries to lovers was beautifully written and emotionally layered. The tension between them—particularly Godric’s failed attempts to suppress his growing feelings—added both heat and heart to the story. His unwavering pursuit of justice for his parents’ murder, even at the risk of losing Nora, made him a deeply conflicted and compelling hero. That emotional push and pull between vengeance and love heightened the suspense and made me genuinely wonder how Violet could deliver a believable happily-ever-after. The final resolution was masterfully done and deeply satisfying.
I highly recommend The Duke of Sins series but especially suggest that you complete the entire series. Her Twisted Duke is one book by Violet Hammers I know you won't want to miss!
Well what an exciting roller coaster ride this book is. It starts with our FMC Nora learning her beloved brother Cecil has asked his friend Duke Godric to be her guardian whilst he travels overseas. Godric was exposed to a major trauma at a young age, raised by his uncle when he was left an orphan. This upbringing has left Godric cold and seeking revenge for his parents’ death and the last thing he wants is to watch over an independently minded naive young woman who ends up in precarious situations. But he does it as he promised his friend. They are frequently at loggerheads but start to feel something towards the other, which they try to ignore. And we know how that goes in HR! Tension and heat! But underlying any burgeoning feelings between our main characters - is Godric’s long held desire for justice for his parents. This search for justice makes Godric question everything he thought he knew. He distances himself from Nora to try to protect her but ultimately she gets affected. Nora is heart broken and has so many unanswered questions. But then Nora disappears and Cecil and Godric have to find her. It’s very dramatic and fast paced in the latter third of the book, a real page turner, with the reader desperate to find out what happens. But it is let down by many small editing errors sadly.
This book was generously provided to me by the author and I freely offer this review.
Great story, great characters, and a moving plot created by one of my favorite authors, equals a hit story. An unexpected relationship develops between a reclusive duke and a stubborn, headstrong lady who is having to cope with a “babysitter” recruited by her brother to watch over her while he is traveling. As unexpected changes begin to occur between the couple, an underlying drama weaves throughout leading to a dramatic finale. A great read. I received a complimentary ARC, but I am voluntarily offering my personal opinion.
Nora is the baby of her family and the last of the sisters to marry when her brother leaves her to his friend to look after he does not expect to come back to find secrets reviled and them to be in love with each other Violet brings all the siblings together in this wonderful story
Duke Godric & Lady Nora have known each other’s families for a while. But Godric has known much tragedy & he has a terrible secret. With Lady Nora in his care he must be careful but he’s beginning to fall for her; and that would upset all of his plans. And what if his plans are false? What if he’s been manipulated for someone else?
Violet Hamers has delivered once again. Duke Godric promised his friend Cecil Wightman to protect Cecil’s sister Nora from unwanted suitors especially her exfiance. . Nora resents the Duke and tries to escape his watchful eyes at every turn. If you like feisty ladies, cold dukes and a mystery thrown into Regency times you will enjoy this novel.
What appears to be a devastating murder and an unusual childhood develops into a challenging effort to discover whoever is responsible. This is a mystery as well as a love story. I recommend it to all who love historic romance.
First time reading this author, Violet Hamers. I really enjoyed this book. Enchanting and some frustrating characters making a fascinating read! Romantic? YES! Exciting? YES! Read and ENJOY! I will recommend this author to others.
