In Nothing Girl we are introduced to Beth. A pint sized firecracker with an affinity for rock and roll and nice cars. She is sassy and smart and a devil in the kitchen, but beneath her vintage tees and Doc Martens is a softer, sweeter side.
She’s built up walls to keep others out. Convinced that she is no good for anybody, she maintains a bond with only her best friend Grady… aka the Drama King. He is fiercely protective of her, and a force of nature on his own.
She doesn’t want or need any other man in her life. After all, they can only bring pain, right?
So what happens when she finds herself with two sexy suitors vying for her attention?
We have JJ, who is sweet and kind and respectful of her boundaries. And then there is Todd. Oh, Todd. He’s like a tornado blasting her into her life and breaking down all of her defenses. He’s the ultimate ovary-exploding, sexy-talking, alpha-dominating, palm twitching male that makes me *swoon*.
But Beth isn’t convinced that she can let either man in. She has painful secrets in her past, and she doesn’t believe she can ever truly have a functional relationship. Todd steps up his game and sets out to show her just how wrong she is.

I like reading this book, the author has really thought about her characters, about their past and some of their future.
She has kept me intrigued, excited and wanting to know more. I have not been able to put this book down because every time I go to stop something happens and I need to know the result of the part in reading.

Wow, as far as I'm concerned; There is absolutely nothing wrong with this book.
However, I so feel like Beth is a complete coward. She needs to grow up, and see the love that's right in front of her. Otherwise, this is a beautiful story. I absolutely love everything about Todd's character.

Gripping and totally in love
I loved this book! Truly beautiful and just fantastic, I couldn't put in down. I can not wait for the next book to see where this romance and heart breaking story goes!

Well well well.... I love when you receive an arc for a new novel with a new author and it blows you away. This was THAT STORY I was Sucked in from the 1st page.
Beth has a simple life a palliative care nurse that lives with her best friend Grady. His gay love for Beth is not only heartwarming but loving. The pair are like family the only family each other has.
One weekend away at a spa changes everything. After using her nursing skills to help a woman having a seizure she meets JJ owner of the spa/ resort. Feeling unknown feelings she is not used to she kind of let's JJ in....
This is where the story got a bit confusing... I thought it would be all in for JJ and Beth but it's when JJ's friend Todd takes Beth home from a new resort opening, it is Todd who breaks down Beth's iron clad walls. His alpha caveman tactics along with her determination to fight against Todd at every turn makes for an amusing and hot/ steamy relationship.
Poor Beth is so out of her element with Todd, she doesn't date and is happy with her existence just the way it is. She only needs Grady but along with Todd comes the cute nickname "Tink" (he had me Sucked in right there) & the fears of what happened to her while at college. Believing she can trust Todd she comes clean about her life... Question is well Todd run off like she expects or continue to persue Beth?
I won't ruin the ending but I will say it is a cliffhanger.... Man I hate cliffhangers now I will be on the edge of my seat waiting for the next.

DNF at 9% when the SPaG errors became too intrusive. The formatting was poor as well, leading to confusion as to who was speaking at times.
I found the premise scarcely believable - Mrs Baker has booked a spa break in Dublin, but gives the tickets away because her brother who was 84 dies? So, questions:
Firstly: Not one ticket, but two, So who was going to go with Mrs Baker in the first place?
Secondly: How old is Mrs Baker? I assume she must also be at least 75 if not older. Wouldn't she have the sense to have had insurance? A refund on the tickets?
Thirdly: Why give the tickets away to her HAIRDRESSER of all people?? It beggars belief. (especially as the said hairdresser has nothing but contempt for the old dear.)
There are some confusing parts: the spa break is for 'next weekend' which assumes a two day break, and yet later we are told: 'It's for Valentine's Day next week.'

To say Beth is damaged is an understatement. Between a tough childhood and a harrowing episode at college she trusts only one person, her best friend Grady.

Endearing.
I want to say I absolutely love this book and author. As an independent author myself... I can fully appreciate the work that goes into being your own writer, editor, and publisher. I hope she keeps it up.
I found Tink and Todd endearing and sweet. I think many young women can relate to Tinks issues and Todd loves her enough to help her work through it all. About to start part 2 now.

I normally don't do this but I can't force it anymore! The writing is too amateurish for me, I can't connect with the charachters (I hate Beth! and Todd) and the story was the only thing that kept my interest but when it became a love triangle... I couldn't. Sorry.

Bit of fun, romance and a little drama
I enjoyed reading this book. A bit of fun, some romance with a little drama at the end. Beth’s past is seeping into the story and now I will have to read book two. Beth’s a nice enough girl, Grady sounds like a great friend who have been through thick and think together. I wasn’t sure about JJ, and even Todd was a bit of a mystery, but with the cliff hanger ending I can’t wait to read more.

First off let me start off by asking, where can I get me a Todd? I love him, just the right amount of cocky and dominant to make for a great leading man.
Beth is described as a girl who has gone through so many things that have had a negative effect on her. I expected her to be very submissive and to have such low self esteem. In reality she does question her self worth, but she's all sass and she stands up for her self too. She's a filthy mouthed doc martens wearing rocker chick, which I loved. Usually the leading ladies are not. Towards the end of the book she really opens up to the reader about her past especially where her family is concerned.
In the beginning we meet JJ, who I thought would be the love interest. He seemed like a nice guy. Then we suddenly meet Todd and everything changes. Beth is trying to live a quite life, but Todd quickly changes that. He forces her to open up and finally allow love in.
Then when things start to look up, everything changes. The book ends with our two characters not in the best place. This is the first book of I don't know how many to come.Over all I enjoyed the ride and really enjoyed Todd.
Now I will say that this book still needs to go through a few more edits. If you can stomach through it while the writer fixes its issues, go for it, if the scattered errors will bug you enough not to finish, then maybe you should wait. I suggest it gets edited a few more times, but the story is great. I definitely want to see what happens with Todd and Beth.
I will say three things confused me towards the end. The story of the robe I would have thought was b.s. he hasn't worn/checked the pocket of that robe since it belonged to his sister/sisters then boyfriend (now husband)? Also at the end was she back at home or still in Dublin when Todd went to see her? Lastly why didn't she bring up the text he got back at his place before their trip?
Over all taking into consideration all the errors and the story I would go with 3.5 start. But, since errors can be fixed I will bump it up to a 4. The 4 really is mostly for Todd.. oh Todd..

She's NOT interested in relationships (or so she thought) she's just focusing on her career as a dedicated nurse. She feels like her life is perfect until she ends up meeting a charming Irish spa owner called JJ on a chance trip to Ireland.
That's when everything changes, she begins to feel things she hasn't felt before and the girl who doesn't really need or rely on anyone other than her best friend is finding herself opening up to this man. Beth is confused but her life is about to become a lot harder when JJ's friend Todd is introduced to Beth and her feelings are now amplified by a thousand.
Who doesn't find a love triangle entertaining?
The men all fight over Beth's attention (including Grady) which often had me curled over laughing and other times had me biting the skin off my lips wondering who was going to win her over! I'm totally TEAM TODD btw, that tall tattooed body and cocky attitude really does it for me!
There is so much fun and humour with a hint of drama in this story. This is a really cheerful book and super easy to read, I would definitely recommend!

Nothing Girl began as a fun read and quickly sucked me into its pages causing me to ignore my responsibilities to read just one more page, OK, just one more chapter.
The author has a talent for writing tension...and sex scenes...and tense sex scenes. I am still blushing from the thrill ride.
I love the character build up, I felt like Grady was my friend, that Beth was that girl we all know who is broken on the inside but sassy and strong and defiant to the world.
The build up in the relationship, the exchange between Liam and Grady and Beth and Todd, even the peripherial characters, made this story feel real and alive.
The flow is excellent and the feisty nature in which the author writes makes each page surprising, the dialog in your face real. This is not fairytale fluff, it's raw and funny and holds surprising depth.
I hate that this is book one. I want to know what happens right now! But I will use it as an excuse to shirk my duties and read the next book. I am rooting for Beth and Todd, and pulling out my old G-n-R t-shirts in support :-)

Beth has a well ordered life and love isn't a factor. She has learned over the years that people always leave so she chooses to avoid relationships all together. The one relationship she does maintain is her best friend Grady and also the one person she considers family. When they get to take a weekend trip to a resort in Ireland, she doesn't expect to meet J.J. She lets herself actually enjoy a date with him. Then, Todd enters her life and she finds a comfort she never knew existed. Can she let herself out of her self-imposed prison and embrace love? Does Todd have the patience to fight through all of her walls? There is a lot of depth to Beth and what drives her perceptions. I loved the compassion she shows her patients along with her courage to realize maybe her life isn't so great after all. Of course, this is part one so now I need part 2 to find out how this all ends.

The only reason that this book isn't getting a one from me is because the storyline could have been really good that being said it was anything but. I usually love the alpha male controling type but Todd took it to a new level which just had him coming off as a Huge prick. Then there is Beth, where do I even begin first off she's a 25 year old women spends half the book acting like a teenager 'Omygosh JJ is so sweet I like kissing him but then there's Todd and he's my everything. The only reason that this book isn't getting a one from me is because the storyline could have been really good that being said it was anything but. I usually love the alpha male controling type but Todd took it to a new level which just had him coming off as a Huge prick. Then there is Beth, where do I even begin first off she's a 25 year old women spends half the book acting like a teenager 'Omygosh JJ is so sweet I like kissing him but then there's Todd and he's my everything. It was a lovely reading, it's a good book, it's interesting and at first I have my doubts about the characters because Beth's characters at the beginning it didn't convince me, but as I kept reading it turns out she's a nice girl with insecurities and fears but she really tries to feel secure and more confident
The relationship with Todd is insta-love and although I'm not a fan of those relationships I guess it works because Todd is sexy and handsome and I like a possessive man
What will happen with JJ? I think he's a nice guy I bet he has some hidden secret that we will found out later

The first couple of paragraphs reminded me of a set up for a scene in a roleplaying game (usually self done like in Second Life). But soon after, I began to get sucked into the story and enjoyed it until about halfway through.
Everything was so red flag, immature and just over the top in an eye rolling and exasperating sense. What began as a build to a 4 star review, dwindled down to 2 by the end and left me with the bitter sense of disappointment and no desire to give the second book in the series any sort of chance.

Ok first warning if editing bugs you be warned had some issues. But I'm not bugged by that. It's a great story and had me loving Todd. Beth is also a awesome character who's been through a lot and stayed strong. It ends with a cliffhanger and I'm definitely going to book 2. It's a read I'd recommend.
