K.T. Tomb enjoys traveling the world when not writing adventure thrillers. She lives in Portland, Oregon, where she's hard at work on her next novel. Please find her at:
Dogman, book 25(!) In the Creatures series, brings Cowboy, Ash, Ben, Lux, Francois and Doc to the Catskills to investigate sightings of a 'dog man' reported by a park ranger and a number of campers. What starts as a cryptid hunt becomes something far, far more dangerous, and places the team in danger like they've never faced before. The writing is on par with the rest of the series, with good characters, narration, an interesting plot with lots of twists and turns. Overall, 4/5 stars, highly recommended for fans of cryptid thrillers, K.T. Tomb fans and anyone who is already a fan of the creatures series!
The further the team gets from real cryptid hunts, the less I like Tombs' work. I recognize an author's right to alter their basic storyline but we're getting more like a detective story than a monster novel. Please don't dress up the cryptids as more than necessary! Flesh and blood opponents for the team.
