Something Irresistible : A Western MM Romance

Cattle ranching wasn't for the tender hearted or weak stomached. Cattle births weren't pretty and the stench of death in the summer was something brutal. Patrick Dillard knew all this from a young and was no fool to what it took to be a rancher. Though, that didn't make things any easier for someone as soft as Patrick Crybaby Dillard.

The nickname, given to him after he was caught crying one too many times, stuck like gum to the bottom of a boot. However, as years churned on, the nicknamed faded until the only reminder of it was when the women of Suncreek Ridge called him Baby. While he hated that the nickname lingered after all these years, he couldn't deny he didn't hate it when a pretty little thing called him Baby.

Until Nash fucking Colby.

MM romance | Westerns Romance | Bi awakening | Grumpy x Sunshine | Good boy | They Both Fall Hard | Angst (a lot of it) | HEA

Omgggg!

Oh my! I’ve been waiting for this short story ever since the author announced it months ago, and I’m dying over how good it was! 🔥😭

Patrick and Nash were so much more than I expected, honestly. At first, I thought this would just be a quick read without much angst, but Patrick’s journey really put me through it! 😭 He was definitely the highlight of the book, especially his moments with Nash. 🥹💖

I liked Nash too, but I feel like he really should have acted sooner (iykyk 🫵🏻😭). This was such a great short story—a well-deserved 5⭐ rating!

This is my very first ARC, so thank you to T. Rossmaur for sending me a copy of Something Irresistible. I was really excited to read it.

Even though this is a short novel, it never felt rushed to me. The story moves at a natural pace and the emotions felt believable. The characters’ feelings, doubts, and little moments of uncertainty came across in a way that felt very real.

I also really enjoyed the writing style, especially the cowboy language and accent. It sounded authentic to me and added a lot of character to the story. Living a nice, comfortable city life myself, I could easily imagine a story like this happening somewhere out there, with people going through exactly these kinds of feelings.

I also appreciated that the book doesn’t try to overcomplicate things. It keeps the story simple and focused on the characters, which I personally liked a lot.

Overall, it was a really nice, quick read that I enjoyed from start to finish. And a lovely first ARC experience for me.

Cowboy, take me away! ✨️💕

Something Irresistible had my attention, from the first post I saw on Instagram. @author_t.rossmaur had me with the cowboys. I don't think he planned for this to make me so sad... but something about this little novella broke my heart.

• cowboy/ranch hand
• first time (bi-awakening)
• a little D/s
• beg for it
• ✨️good boy✨️
• internalized homophobia
• banter
• nicknames

Patrick is reluctant to get part time help over the winter, and his father hires someone anyway. Nash is a smooth talking, bossy, "pretty" man.

This novella DOES have an HEA, so I can't really explain why the story made me so sad. Maybe it's Pat's loneliness. Or the way everyone seems to treat him. But honestly I wanted to wrap him up in a blanket and send him to bed.

Something Irresistible is out March 21st, and its only 92 pages - so it can be a little pallete cleanser between books or a little shorty to help you with your reading goals.

I had a great time reading this story.

Patrick and Nash having to work on winter on the ranch, after Nash being hired for that time period, made it possible for these two to rapidly develop an attraction for each other. For Patrick it was a constant struggle to feel that kind of attraction towards Nash, where his body and mind were not in sync in the presence of Nash. Loved the way their relationship grew in such a short period of time that you could tell that these two genuinely formed a comfortable connection.

There is a little angst in the story, and I actually enjoyed it, like I could feel the longing between these two, and it’s something that puts into perspective how these characters think and process their feelings.

Overall, a great short read with a hot dynamic but with a journey of self-discovery and acceptance filled with many emotions that make you feel for these two.

(Spoiler-free review) I was fortunate enough to read an early copy of this novella, and I am so grateful. This small but mighty story packs a romantic punch that hit me hard. Patrick and Nash's dynamic jumped off the page and into my soul while I watched them come to terms with their lives as individuals as well as a potential couple. Witnessing Patrick's road to self discovery and coming to terms with his sexuality was rewarding. Nash's care for his "Baby" was something I'd love to read about again and again. I can't wait to discover more from this author, and I highly recommend this short but sweet read.

Oh I loved Nash and Patrick. This is such a perfect novella, I did not want it to end. The author packs in so much story in the subtext, so much emotion. I felt for Patrick- that man is deep and sensitive and just must be protected. Nash is a force of nature and just what Patrick needs. Their story is told almost entirely until the end through Patrick’s eyes. Expect a heartfelt hurt comfort Cowboy romance with a dash of power exchange which works perfectly with their dynamic over the 4 years we get to see them. Woven with beautiful touching moments between the two this book is a joy to read.
