The Reavers are on a rampage! Now sporting all the best cybernetic enhancements, will the newest Reaver Tearjerker, finally have the power to best Cyclops? Without the use of his visor how Cyclops fight back?!
Mei is really good in this issue. Seeing her cope with what she does and how Scott is trying to figure out a way out of this makes for a compelling read.
This is exactly the Cyclops solo series I’ve always wanted. Paknadel gets Scott at such a deep level — core to Scott’s identity as an X-Man isn’t that he’s a superhero, but a soldier — and this issue leans all the way into that. Watching Scott try to stay disciplined, keep Mei focused with that red triangle method, hold everything together without his visor… and then the moment he finally just lets it all go and goes full soldier mode? 🤌 That all-red page where he rips the bandages off and cuts loose is everything. Antônio’s art absolutely sells the chaos and the horror of the Reavers, and the whole issue has a gritty tension that just doesn’t let up. This mini is three issues in and hasn’t missed yet.
