Hidden beneath the bed is a cage, and in the basement there are shackles waiting for me. My life consists of fear, silence, and control.

Once, my hands danced across the keys of a piano, creating music that filled the world with beauty. But then I was taken and renamed Summer. Returning to my old life should have been a relief…and it was for a time.

But now, I'm trapped in a marriage to a monster who wields my greatest fears like weapons. I'll protect my son with every breath I have, but when I'm sold for five nights and six days to a stranger, I realize that my nightmare has only just begun.

THE
Not every fix can be found on the couch across from me. I've always been the steady one, the glue that holds everything together. It's my mantle, one I wear proudly and wield with honor.

But when a simple job turns into something far more dangerous, I find myself forced into a role I never expected. I'm no longer just THE COUNSELOR. I'm a man with no choice. Five nights. Six days.

I'll break down her walls, save her—after all it's what I'm good at. But she is hiding the truth. One that has long reaching consequences.

The stage is set, the spotlight shines…and the clock is ticking.

Angels & Saints is book 4 in the Season Sisters Saga. It is part of an interconnected series and CANNOT be read as a standalone. This is a duet that ends on a CLIFFHANGER.

ARC Review

I have been anxiously awaiting this book since the moment I read the last sentence of Kings and Queens, and closed my kindle. 24 hours it took me to read this book because I ATE it up. I was so excited to read about Summer (aka Victoria) and Marcel. This book was not what I expected, but I say that in the best way. It was fast paced, had some twists and turns, and lots of suspense. It was nice to also see some other characters have their own POV sprinkled in through out. It was mostly about Summer and Marcel, but you also saw other characters going through their own shit and keeps all the characters still involved in the series. I loved that she did that. Emerson Reign sure knows how to keep us all on the edge of our seats.

Declan-ughh my heart hurt for this little boy. But I know it’ll be worth it. He just wants his mom and I’m looking forward to Cameron getting what is coming for him and his narcissistic ass.

I am ready for Marcel to really deep dive into Summers past, and they heal one another. I know it’s going to be an epic love story!

That cliffhanger-dear lord. Why Emerson?? Whyyyyy???

Thank you Emerson Reign for letting me be apart of the ARC team! Anything you write, I will read! And you’ve got me hooked on the Season Sister Series. So I’m in it for the long haul with you!

Read and did not DNF strictly for Andrew Marcel.
TWs listed don't cut it btw
If you're into severe humiliation and degradation with gratuitous exhibitionism and MMCs thst put their kink above their severely traunatic FMC, rape and assault is fetished big time and the FMCs are dumb tstl idiots than you'll love this book...
Gratuitous because it was unnecessary and served to only further humiliate the FMC more & not furture the story. . It's very much that type of series severe humiate and degrade the fmc both past and present.

I didnt even want to continue this series at all but I caved when I saw it was about Marcel.
BTW can we stop with the similar names? Marcel, Marcus & Marcy. Are you kidding me?

I was so annoyed Kinsly, the FMC from books 1-3, no I was disgusted with her & how she acted through out the entire book. She has zero business getting involved with Pasha & his relationship with his GF. The gf had a right to be worried & upset too. Their "game nights are inappropriate and go too far, overstepping with Marcel as well...she's insurrable and annoying.
I'm assuming they are shipping her off to keep her from accidentally meeting Victoria/Summer..
But the big thing I was grossed out with is her wanting to try out whipping - but again that was just an excuse to leave a letter& to get Victoria jealous..

Victoria takes 2nd place in being insurrable. I was fighting & trying to conjure up some sympathy for her, but that cliffhanger ruined it for me. Are you fuqing kidding me?
That was a door opened for her to get her son out of that house! All she had to do was tell Marcel! Wtf and instead the entire time she's lying to him about everything erything - which makes zero sense to begin with. She legit lies to his face in the next yo the last chapter and it does nothing to further her cause..

I don't mind sone exhibitionism, this was gratuitous it was simply done to humiliate the fmc. You mean to tell me these auctions cater to big dangerous Russian mafia type men but add on a clause that they "have to fuq the girl they just bought infront of everyone"?? Oh its done infront of a 2 way mirror where ANYONE CAN FILM IT AND THEY DO!

This was so unrealistic it was laughable - no millionaire would do this out of fear of being filmed & blackmailed- which is exactly what happens.

Also the auction why were the guys at the auction to begin with? Leena was there voluntarily selling her virginity, why did the guys think they had to buy her? Why was she selling her virginity for an ailing Mom? They live in the UK and get free healthcare? The crew has that much money to buy girls anytime?
The tws for the past molesting and torture & rape I don't have triggers for & understand it's the villains etc. The problem that I have is the sexualization of the experiences of the FMCS. Victoria had it much worse than Kinsly, after the kidnapping & then with her husband. Shes never had a loving relationship with a guy ever.

All of the sex stuff, all of her training was earned as a kid by the Mask & The Collector and then by her abusive hubby. So just like in tge first 3 books with Kinsly (but not near as bad- yet) certain things get remarked on like he way she presented, the mmc noted it & really liked it.
Book 1 Kinsly did this & all the guys got hardons because of how perfect she "presented" how well she gave a BJ etc. Again. This was all stuff these girls learned at the ages of 10-12, so seeing those very same skills sexualized as an adult character is not sexy!

Nothing against the author, like I said she writes fine sometimes even great. If not for MMC I would not have been able to get thru books 1-3.
Seeing how it looks like Pasha will definitely be into hardcore exhibitionism (not a fan). Watching how Kinsly was such a string independent Fmc in book 1, turn into a dumb af doormat for her Bf's kink & lifestyle- to even worse a pick me girl that does nothing but cause problems for everyone,. It felt like Marcel was the only adult surrounded by 15 year olds.
I just don't want another FMC suddenly loving being whipped after spending years being traumatized because her boyfriend enjoys it.
I'm not sure if I'll read anymore after Marcel's story.

Still think X is going to be Bash's lost love.

Thank you to Emerson Reign for the opportunity to read this book as an ARC. Emerson is one of my favorite finds in 2025. Angels & Saints is book four in the Season Sisters Saga. Although it is a continuation of the series, this book is the first for Summer. Book one through three was Spring’s story. You must absolutely read the books in order to understand what is happening. Victoria (Summer) and Marcel’s story is no exception. Please check the trigger warnings if you are concerned about any of the topics. This book is really heavy at times.

This entire series has left me on the edge of my seat. I have been WAITING for this book to be released! Marcel was one of my favorites in the previous books. I am hoping Victoria and Marcel have an epic love story that they both wholeheartedly deserve. These two have been handed some pretty tough things from an early age. They cross paths years prior and are destined to cross paths again. Marcel does not remember her, but he temporarily saves her from a dangerous home life. Victoria feels trapped in her life. She has never been allowed to make decisions for herself. We learn about Marcel’s childhood and how Victoria ended up where she is. The biggest reason Victoria stays is because of her sweet baby Declan. A mother cannot leave her child in a situation like that. She will do anything to protect him. That sweet boy just wants his mama. I hope Emerson hears our pleas and gives him what he needs.

The entire storyline is basically setting the scene for what is to come. I cannot wait to see how this story ends in the next book. Cameron needs to get what he deserves, and I hope Emerson makes it hurt really good! Pasha was the unexpected element to this story for me and let me tell you that I am here for all of it! I already loved him in the previous storyline, but this just made me love him even more.

Emerson Reign loves to leave us on a cliffhanger and has no regrets doing so. At this point I expect it from this author, so prepare yourself. This cliffhanger though….my mind was blown. Oh emmmm geeee! Why Emerson?? By the end of this story I felt so many different emotions. I practically threw my kindle like it burned me. I am completely hooked and devoted to this storyline and all the season sisters. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. Emerson Reign never disappoints.

We dive into Summers story in this book and it is not for the faint of heart.
Her current circumstances I was not at all prepared for, and the way her son is used as a tool against her makes my heart hurt so bad. The way so much of her story can get too uncomfortable, because let's face it, it is absolutely believable. gut wrenching. It makes it all impossible not to root for her at this point.
And with Marcel being the main one tied to the story so far? yes please I love him. We finally get a bit of a sneak peak into his childhood and how he ended up with the brothers and I wanted to go give him a snuggle so so bad. Gah!!!
I'll be honest the ending threw me a little. I don't quite understand what's going on and that's probably on me but I had to go back and re read it and it still didn't make perfect sense. It is a "cliffhanger" sort of so that's ok I'm sure once I dive into the next one things will become much more clear.
There is definitely a level of "yeah, ok" in the fact that Autumn and Spring just happen to be connected, and now Summer just happens to be connected through the men as well and it's just like, hmmmm really? But alas it is fiction for a reason and who knows maybe that will end up being a part of why they were all picked together in the first place? but for now it just seems implausible.
Victoria seems more mature and stronger than Kinsley which is nice so far not having so many child like tendencies. Her husband is definitely a well written villain and I CANNOT wait to see him get taken down. MMM yes. This is a great dark series, and the trauma definitely connects me to the characters well. Thank you to the author for sending me the arc read.

Angels & Saints: A Dark Rescue Romance by Emerson Reign completely pulled me into its dark, emotional world and refused to let go. This story is intense, haunting, and deeply gripping from the very first page.

Summer’s story is heartbreaking. Once a woman who filled the world with music, she has been stripped of her identity, her freedom, and her sense of safety. Watching her navigate fear, trauma, and the fierce love she has for her son was incredibly powerful. Her strength shines even in the darkest moments, and it made me root for her every step of the way.

Then there is The Counselor. A man who is used to helping others keep their lives together suddenly finds himself thrown into something far more dangerous than he ever expected. His determination to protect and save Summer adds such a compelling layer to the story. The tension between them builds slowly and intensely, creating a connection that feels raw, complicated, and real.

Emerson Reign does an amazing job balancing the darker elements of the story with emotional depth and suspense. The pacing keeps you on edge, and just when you think you understand what is happening, another layer unfolds. The writing is vivid and atmospheric, making every scene feel cinematic and emotionally charged.

This book is not for the faint of heart, but if you enjoy dark romance with high stakes, emotional intensity, and complex characters, this one will absolutely captivate you. And that ending… wow. Be prepared to immediately need the next book.

A powerful and unforgettable installment in the Season Sisters Saga that left me completely hooked. Definitely a five star read for me. ⭐️

This book is not quite what I expected. I don't mean that in a negative way. But honestly, when we read a series, interconnected or regular, and there are side characters who will get their story, we start picturing them, right? How will they be when it's their time... And of course I did that with Marcel. Yes, everyone calls him either Marcel or Counselor, nobody really says Andrew, except for Victoria. But I didn't expect him to have a past. I don't know. I just didn't. He's a psychologist, and I just... No 🙈 My mistakes! I should expect EVERYTHING from Emerson 🤣
Same with Victoria aka Summer. Holy moly... I thought poor Kinsley had a horrible past, but Victoria 😱 I knew she was one of her sisters and went through the same heII, but guys, you need a very thick skin 🙈

And all that is not enough. Even though this story has actually only two MCs, it's written in more POVs than just two. There is so much more happening that will prepare us for the coming season sisters 😍

So, and now I've already talked so much that my space is almost over and I feel I've said nothing. Like always 😖

But one thing... Yes, this book ends on a cliffhanger, because it's Summer's duet. The whole series should be read in order! But the cliffhanger, OMG. What a freaking plot twist. I'm speechless. Honestly. I don't know what to say about it. I sooo NEEEED the second book!!!!!

Thanks to the author for trusting me with a BETA 🩷

Where do I start? As with Spring’s books, Emerson’s writing is just incredible! The flow, the words, the plot, the twists, the cliffhanger - all off the charts amazing. I was so drawn into the characters and the story it was impossible to put down, which is exactly how it went with the first 3 books. I want to say that this was such a fun, cool, happy, sweet story, but that would be a lie. This story will rip your heart out and gut you with what has happened to the FMC. You will want to plot, plan and carry out the unaliving character for sure, but most likely multiple characters! Definitely read the trigger warnings. This book/series has plenty of them. If you can keep what happens in the book neatly inside the book and not let it consume you, then you will soak up every crazy bit of the story. You will see what is blooming between the MMC and FMC and you will want to see all the beautiful details of their story. There is sweetness and kindness in the story, so hold onto that and dive in! ***This is book 4 of the series, you should read 1-3 first as many characters and tons of background is covered in them.

Where do I even begin with Angels & Saints? 😭🖤

Finally getting Summer’s POV was everything I needed, but nothing could have prepared me for how raw it was. Her history of "fear, silence, and control" is devastating; seeing her adult trauma eclipse her childhood scars was honestly hard to breathe through. 💔⛓️‍💥

The Villain: Can we talk about her husband? I have never loathed a character more. I am manifesting absolute ruin for him—he deserves zero happiness. 😤🚫

The Hero: I spent half the book screaming for her to let Andrew help, but finding her way back to Marcel was the perfect hurt/comfort anchor. Our steady Counselor is just... chef’s kiss. 🥺⚓️

The Side Plot: Pasha’s development is top tier, even if he’s delusional about Hannah. Boy, get a clue! 💃🕺

The Ending: We expected an Emerson Reign cliffhanger, but this one was a total jolt to the system! ⚡️ I’m officially mourning the wait for the next release.

I am rooting for Summer and Marcel so hard. Emerson, I need the next book now! ⏳🗞️

Emerson you’ve done it again! I finished this book and my mouth dropped, I did not see that coming. The way you’ve woven these characters and their stories together is absolutely amazing. This is definitely not a stand alone, you will be confused at the part that all the characters play and their places in the story, if you don’t read Springs books first.

Victoria aka Summer’s story is heartbreaking, but the relationship between her and Marcel is something beautiful. I will be sitting here trying to be patient for the rest of her story.

You’ve done a wonderful job giving details and backstory on characters and it truly helps to make someone feel that are a part of the story. When I’m reading the characters are coming alive in my mind. You write in a way that I go through all of the emotions.

I received this book as an ARC copy and I have to say… I wasn’t disappointed. Emerson has a way of keeping these season sisters connected in a way that didn’t allow me to put the book down!

Summer’s story comes after Spring’s. For someone who is supposed to be the uplifting season sister, she sure had to deal with a lot in her past. Make sure to read the trigger warnings because it definitely goes dark for a while there. But man, what strength you feel from a character like her!

I especially love that pasha gets a bit more involved in their lives and we hear a bit more from a few other characters that we meet in Spring’s story!

This book should not be read as a stand alone, definitely read the there’s stories about Spring FIRST. But hurry, because you definitely want to read this one ASAP.

Well done Emerson! Can’t wait for the rest of Summer’s story to unfold!

Summer aka Victoria + Marcel (Andrew).

JESUS. The cliffhanger that didn't feel like a cliffhanger but a pause.. a BRIEF pause.. Come ON Emerson.. We need book 5.. like yesterday.

P.S. I really HOPE that Summer's husband gets what he deserves because I haven't disliked a character more than I do him.. He is SO manipulative and controlling. & he has pretty much brain washed Summer into thinking that what he does and what they are... is okay. (WHICH IT IS NOT).

The side plots with Pasha and Hannah. I am glad Pasha is finding his voice and honestly, the relationship between him and Kingsley isn't sexual.. Hannah is 100% insecure. I am hoping that Pasha gets it together and just asks for a full on divorce. He deserves his happy too!

Thank you to the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

The cliffhanger! 😩

I was so not ready for it to end like that 😪

I'm going to start by saying… this is the kind of book where I don’t even mind burying another fictional character again 😂😂

Victoria's resilience in this book, though 😩 I have so much respect for her. Imagine having to endure that and still fighting to survive the madness caused by that absolute trash 😔

My blood pressure's off the charts just thinking about it 😮‍💨

Honestly? I'd say this again... I'd happily dig a hole for that fictional trashy trash myself 🤬😏

She's fighting for someone's happiness, even if it means hurting herself in the process 💔

A 5☆ read. Strong. Strength. Words that carry so much weight 😢

⚠️ This book is HEAVY. Check the trigger warnings ☠️ Your mental health matters 🌼

HOLY FUCK..... IM LOST FOR WORDS.. BUT IN A GOOD WAY.

I don't even know where to start with this crazy rollercoaster ride of a book. The storyline is huge, all consuming, dark, gritty, emotional and fucking beautiful. It's action packed, drama filled, spicy, has angst, suspense, emotions, survival, torture, torment and loads more.

I could not stop reading it.

I highly recommend. 5/5.

I was completely shocked by the ending! jaw dropped shocked!
I have been blessed to read every book in this series as an arc and Each book is more and more amazing! Victoria is so tragic, and also strong as hell. I enjoyed Kinsley story and can not wait for Isabelle but Victoria's is just so impactful so far.
Marcel intrigued me in the first book and I am so glad to see more of him, I am seeing snippets of pashel and have theories on his story. I absoutley hate Cameron and he needs to suffer in many ways
I highly recommend this series but also air caution to pay attention to triggers as it is very dark and traumatic

Dark and really difficult to read in places. Heartbreaking 💔
Summer’s abuse as a child with the other girls vs her life now? I almost think that her childhood trauma was easier to bear than this. The things she has been made to do and inflicted upon her beggars belief.
I was screaming at her to let Andrew in, to let him help her.
I’m loving Pasha and his alter ego though, he has just suddenly developed, becoming much more than Kinsley’s dance partner. He just needs to realise he has no future with Hannah!
The ending was a bit of a surprise, I truly wasn’t expecting that, but at the same time, wow 😮 I also then had the thought……dna testing?!?!

Where do I even begin……

I loved the flash backs that filled in some gaps from the past books with Victoria. I hate her dumb husband and wish him nothing but bad things. Fuck that guy.

Marcel is slowly becoming my favorite person. I also loved seeing the characters we know and love come out in bits and pieces of this book while not taking the focus away from the current story line.

The ending of the book left me gasping and unwell and I will need the next book immediately 🤣

I had very very high expectations of this book based on the previous ones in the series and honestly Emerson exceeded them!

I love that we get to see into Marcel's past and learn more about who he is. I adore his character. I am so glad that we get to see more of Pasha in this book. I am so invested in all of these characters and their stories!

The cliffhanger.....gah! I need the completion of Victoria & Andrew's story!

I know Emerson expressed concern about how these would flow and if Summer could even live up to Spring, and I will tell you it's just as heartbreaking, gut wrenching, spicy, and funny as the first 3. Maybe even more funny and heartwrenching, because of the connections with everyone and I am not going to spoil it, but it's a rollercoaster. I think it may be darker then the first 3, but only because it's the current and much less about the past, but it is so well written it had me feeling all the emotions and all I have to say is Cameron is the worst person and a wasting oxygen by being alive.

I love this series because it's dark, painful, hopeful, and exciting.

I love getting to know Victoria, I super enjoy the changes we've seen in Pasha, and Dr Marcel... I knew in my soul that he was going to be delightful, but I need more!

That ending.... Emerson Reign, we are going to need to have a conversation over these cliffhangers. My heart can't keep taking this beating.... We both know it will, but it will continue to get me every time!.

This is your warning two maybe not read this book while on a full passenger flight for 2 hours, unless you want to cry publicly 🥹😭 (Iykyk)

But seriously, I did not know what to expect from this second season sister and I truly believe the author has outdone herself this time. Her books keep getting more in depth and better every single time, and I can't wait to see what happens in Summer's second act. 🫶🏼

WHAAAT?!? The ending?!? HOW?!? One thing I love about this whole series is how she has a multi POV, and not to the extent of just the people the story follows, but even the people the story will affect in the long run. I love how deep she goes with her characters. You really feel the pain of Summer/Victoria and how she really keeps her defenses up in the book. I truly love this just as much as the other books in the series

This series is excellent if you like dark romance. My heart hurts for the season sisters. Unlike other interconnected books you do have to read the first books in this series to understand what is happening, but you also get more povs than just the two main characters.

This ends on a slight cliffhanger but Victoria’s main storyline should wrap but the next book in the series.

Absolutely phenomenal! As someone who has ARC read since the beginning I absolutely LOVED this story because of the evolution of putting the season sisters back together🥹 I seriously hate cliffhangers even if they are a necessary evil and cannot wait for the rest of Victoria and Marcel’s story! My heart cannot stand not knowing if he manages a rescue…

This book starts with the capture of "Summer" and seeing some of the individual hell she went through with the Mask and the Collector, then we get to see the rescue from her eyes. Unlike with Spring, Summer has a home and a family to return to and Callahan makes sure she does just that. But the sliver of happiness she has found won't last forever. Before we know it we find Summer living a new kind of hell that only the death squad, and herself, can save her from. We also learn a lot about our favorite counselor, like how he met the King brothers. We learn of a love he once had, and we learn WHY he takes some of his cases so heavily.

Can Marcel look past the enemy staring him in the face to save what he doesn't even know he has? Can Summer ever tell him who she really is? I can't wait to find out in the next book, because as always Emerson Reign is keeping us readers on our toes

ARC REVIEW

Book 5 please!!!!. This whole series is so emotional. And angels and saints was just the same. Please check your triggers as it talks about sex slaves and human trafficking. The abuse these women go though but are still able to find some hope to cling on to. I enjoyed the flashbacks into her life as you get know Victoria but the ending!! Wtf emerson!!!

Wow was not expecting this book to turn out the way it did. Summer is such a strong character enduring so much. Even after everything she goes through she still had to continue fighting of her life. Let’s not forget about Marcel. His story ended up being quite shocking. That cliffhanger is diabolical. I need the next book immediately.

Summer

When I say Emerson can write, I mean she can WRITE! You get so immersed into this world of secrets that you live it with them. Summer's nightmare hasn't really ended and now we must hold on with her praying for her HEA.
