Pippin’s true love is restoring beautiful art to its former glory—and exploring new and exciting experiences in life. That’s what lands her at DreamTogether, a breeding program for monsters who want families of their own. There, she meets a gargoyle who has always longed for a fledgling, and shows her the time of her life on the breeding bench.
Having failed at traditional relationships, Silas scrimped and saved with his security guard salary to hire a surrogate. Though he’s entranced by the beautiful human who will carry his young, after successfully breeding her, he knows he’ll never see her again. So he fixates upon the new assistant museum curator, instead—and starts to fall for the cute woman with the delicate hands.
But both of them are keeping secrets that may just upset this budding love story.
Lyonne Riley writes super steamy monster romance, fantasy romance, and sci-fi romance. She lives in the middle of nowhere with her spouse and two dogs, writing spicy fairy tales.
I cannot overstate how much I really enjoy the DreamTogether book series! This sweet novella is the cherry on top (of the museum, like Silas)
Coworkers Pippin and Silas didn't intend to get together, but their journey to happiness was so sweet. Both of their dedication to their fledgling was precious.
Yes if: Steamy novella with aerial sex
No if: Huge income gap isn't for you

Another (sadly) short but (amazingly) sweet monster romance from Lyonne Riley. I love a good gargoyle book (I’m blaming being a 90s baby and growing up watching Gargoyles on tv) so I really enjoyed this one.
Lyonne Riley is really good at writing short stories that have a vetted out storyline and steamy content. And with each book I read the writing gets better. She doesn’t drag anything out and gives just enough backing to not feel like there’s something missing.
This story in particular, has a richer FMC who wants to be a surrogate for a monster as a way to give back, I promise there are no ill intentions behind it, she understands her higher standing and wants to help simply because she can. Our MMC is a gargoyle who has saved for years to afford this clinic after struggling to a relationship work with his schedule. It just so happens these two work in the same building 😊😊😊 There are some tense parts with her father being judgy, but he comes around in the end for a HEA.
The steamy bits are interesting in this story. I liked how she is told and does use a dilator to help her stack to fit him, very realistic. And the “dirty talk” is soooo sweet 🤭 it’s not your traditional dirty talk but it’s so fitting for them. Then if course you get the flying scene we all know and love with winged partners.

This is a fun gargoyle romance. It’s part of the DreamTogether Breeding Program series of standalones, it was sent out as a freebie through the author’s newsletter.
Human FMC Pippin signs up for the monster breeding program and has an incredible time with the gargoyle she’s surrogating for, maybe too good of a time. She leaves the appointment with gargoyles on the brain, and the father is equally smitten. The father, MMC gargoyle Silas, tries to squash his feelings for the surrogate and develops a crush on the cute human curator he meets while working security. Did I mention she works at an art museum?
This was a fun, sweet, and steamy quick read. Of course, things could have been resolved much faster if the characters had been more honest, but it all works out in the end. For a novella, it does a great job covering a lot of emotional ground and developing the relationship. I love this series and can’t wait to see what Riley has in store next.
Spice 4.5/5 Plot: 4.5/5 Writing: 4.5/5 My Enjoyment: 4.5/5
Another cute and great addition to the DreamTogether book series. This one featuring a gargoyle who only comes out at night. Which is a perfect match for Pippin who is a night owl and works at night usually. These two meet at work (after meeting first at DreamTogether but having no clue who the other is) and hit it off and end up dating. But Pippin tells a small fib about her pregnancy and Silas leaves out the part about him getting a child in the near future and these two have no idea they hooked up at DreamTogether weeks ago. But what will happen when the truth comes out? Will they be able to forgive each other for keeping secrets? Will Silas, an ordinary guy working an ordinary job be able to impress Pippin’s rich father? And what happens when Pippin goes into labor six weeks early? The fabulous book has such sweet moments between these two I couldn’t put it down. I want my own Silas! Can’t wait to read anymore additions to this series.
Ahhh, another book by Lyonne Riley! I absolutely enjoyed Bree by the Gargoyle. It’s a short and spicy read, with a small and manageable plot twist. I love how Lyonne writes her monster romance books, they are sooo good and very entertaining! I loved Poppin’s and Silas’ love story, it was cute and cozy but also with so many secrets from each other.
It was so obvious that they **knew** about their situation but decided to like not speak up about it since they didn’t want to lose each other. But overall, it was a fun book to read since the roles were reversed since usually the MMCs are usually rich and whatnot but Poppin was the rich FMC and Silas was the middle class mmc. I feel like it worked perfectly for this book!
I had mixed emotions about Poppin’s dad but I overall liked him. He was just too much for me but I understand his concerns.
Gargoyle books are more rare than one would think. That is why I am so excited for this book. If you love gargoyles this is going to give you what your heart desires. The spice is thru the roof. Not to mention there's even a bit of plot mixed in. Also a backstory as well. Very well balanced. Also special equipment for the win.Now there's some parts that were a " you can't be that stupid" moment however it worked. Yes it was frustrating but it didn't take from the story it was apropo and weaved in rather well. It is a shorter reader so toke me less than couple hours but was it an amazing couple hours. I couldn't put it down. I did receive this book for free but I'm not obligated to leave this review. Once you read this you'll see why it was no challenge to leave this review. What a great start to 2026.
I did receive this book for free however I am not obligated to leave this review.
Talk about instant chemistry. That is what Silas and Pippin shared. I love that Silas was taking his time admiring Pippin before he claimed her. Absolutely loved that Silas held a job as a "meek" night security guard. I was getting Superman vibes. Only Silas as the night guard is Clark Kent and Silas as his real self as Superman.
"Thank you for loving me and letting me love you".
Ok, I think my new favorite monster is a gargoyle. This is thanks to Silas. He may turn to stone by day, but his heart is not made of stone. He gives golden retriever vibes. This book is not to be missed! I loved every moment of it.
It's a short and very simple book (too simple) that's good for passing the time, but it left me indifferent. I expected more from the author, but I probably started with the wrong book.
The short story is about Pippin, a human, and Silas, a gargoyle. It happens exactly as the synopsis says, but with the added twist that Pippin is unbearable. Yes, it's awful to be lied to, but GIRL, YOU LIED FIRST. What's the point of making a public scene over a lie that, in the end, happened because she wasn't honest about her pregnancy?
I admit that Silas seemed somewhat endearing, but that's about it. The characters aren't memorable, although this book does serve as a light read.
It was a cute short read. Usually I’m not one for the pregnancy trope but it was monsters and I’m a sucker for those and the only time I really go reading “fluffy reads”. There were parts of the story where the writing felt stiff but didnt take away from the story as a whole, I think my biggest gripe was the split second third act breakup bit, but the FMC also understands that she was also secretly mad at herself for her part in things. This is my first read by this author but I’ll probably be checking out more of their works to get my monster fix in 😈😈
I don’t think I’ve ever read a romance book with a Gargoyle before! Silas is such a sweet man and how he looks out for Pinpin even before finding out she is the mother of his kid was so precious. It was sweet seeing him take care of her throughout her pregnancy, as it was his own kid(Even though he didn’t know right away). I figured there was going to be some kind of “fight” between Pinpin and Silas, based on her other works (Bred by the Werewolf). I really enjoyed this read and can’t wait for Lyonne other books to drop soon!!

My one complaint is that it was way too short! I’m obsessed with Lyonne Riley’s books, so I was beyond excited to read one about gargoyles and it did not disappoint! Not that her books ever disappoint. The concept was so good. I loved that everything had to happen at night, yet he could still walk around during the day. Their relationship was absolutely adorable. I loved how they were dating without knowing who the other really was. It was super cute and made their dynamic even more fun to read.
This is me first ever Gargoyle romance and let me just tell you yes, I didn’t know I needed this romance and now I need more.
First off it starts with pippin becoming a donor and Silas wanting a baby everything is anonymous.
Silas and Pippin work together but never talked, I loved how Pippin was independent, she knew what she wanted and went for it. I loved how shy but also respectful Silas was. He was great. He was protective and just In love he is with Pip.
I loved the story! I wish it was long but overall a great book!
Perfectly perfect and imperfect at the same time. Loved the story of Pippin and Silas. Dreamtogether really should be a match making service at this point. All the main characters fall in love and have to navigate this weird tight rope. Didn't like the "break up" ascend since poppin put some much of the onus on Silas when she was juts as culpable! Glad she forgive him right away though. Loved also that her Father came around to Silas as his future SIL.
I really enjoyed the dynamics of the MMC and FMC! It was such a great happy ending, their journey from strangers to friends to lovers was absolutely beautiful. I also loved Lyonne’s twist on Gargoyles, having his skin harden during the day but still have him awake was a great touch. Most gargoyle romances I’ve read had them frozen and gone from their love interests for the entire day. Pippin turning Silas into stay at home dad at the end was very cute too lol!
⭐️ 3 - another adorable spicy monster novella from Lyonne Riley, and this one is available with her newsletter now!!! It was funny, short, sweet and spicy (all the things you expect from Riley's books) this one wasn't personally a fave of mine and I knew that going into it. I'm not the biggest fan of pregnancy and labor stuff but this was just pure fluff and it did make me smile.
Lyonne Riley's Bred by the Gargoyle is a short and sweet monster romance that has wealthy art restorer Pippin acting as a surrogate to lonely art museum guard gargoyle Silas. The two both work at the art museum but don't realize that the other is involved until late in the pregnancy after they've fallen in love. I love a short but sweet story!
Came for the monster smut and that’s what I got. A breeding program to essentially help monsters procreate and use surrogacy. Plus, it was a fast read since it was a novella and surprisingly kind of cute with the way Pippin and Silas were together. Not your traditional romance, but hey, Pippin and Silas found their way to each other in the end.
Oh my god yesssss. Lyonne gives 110% to all her books. This monster romance was so amazing. I devoured it whole and left no crumbs. It draws you in so fast and then way to fast you reach the end and you are sad because you want more.
