She has everything to lose…

Opening the door, I kiss my handsome man and smile as the children run into the home I’ve spent all day making perfect. I still can’t believe that I’m living in this warm, safe place that’s filled with laughter. But I’m always looking over my shoulder because I know that my gorgeous family could be taken away from me in heartbeat.

Because one woman has every reason to try and destroy me.

She’s watching and waiting for me to mess up. But I know what it’s like to have nothing and I’m determined not to let anyone come between me and the dream life I’ve worked so hard for.

Even if this family belonged to her first…

I Stole Your Family is the riveting second installment in Daniel Hurst's new psychological thriller series, following the compelling debut, I Want Your Family. I wholeheartedly recommend reading these books in chronological order, as the events, relationships, and deep-seated conflicts established in the first book are absolutely crucial to understanding the narrative unfolding in this sequel. The anticipation for the series' conclusion is high, with the third and final book, The Happy Family, scheduled for release in March 2026.Continuing the Saga

Book two, I Stole Your Family, begins precisely where the first novel left off, immersing the reader immediately back into the tense, post-climax world of the main characters. The story intimately traces the lives and interwoven fates of Luna, Reid, Sadie, and Gemma. Hurst masterfully continues to pull the threads of their complex, often fraught, relationships, showing the deep repercussions of the events that transpired previously. A Five-Star Read

As with every Daniel Hurst novel I have read, this one earns a resounding 5 out of 5 stars from me.

I am consciously choosing to keep the details of the plot minimal to avoid inadvertently spoiling the jaw-dropping revelations and groundwork laid out in I Want Your Family. The experience of reading the first book completely untainted is essential for the full impact of the series.Twists, Turns, and Character Depth

What I can confidently share is that I Stole Your Family is another intense journey characterized by moments of sudden, chilling realization and signature twists. While the twists in this particular novel didn't have the same monumental, earth-shattering effect on me as those in the first book—which essentially set the entire stage—they were still perfectly executed and integral to the continuing drama.

The true strength of this installment lies in the deeper exploration of the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed continuing the story of Luna, Reid, Sadie, and Gemma, observing the intricate, and sometimes destructive, ways their lives continue to play out and intertwine in the aftermath of past events.

My excitement is palpable for the final book, The Happy Family, to see how Daniel Hurst ultimately brings this intense saga to its conclusion.

Book two opens right where book one, I WANT YOUR FAMILY, left off. D0n't even think about reading this one until you've read the first one. Luna has deviously manipulated, twisted, and coerced her way into becoming the matriarch of the family she's desperately wanted after successfully getting Sadie out of the way. She convinces herself that she's deserving of the warmth and safety she’s found. But that comfort comes with a constant edge of fear, because she knows it could all be taken away in an instant. Someone is watching her, waiting for her to slip, and the unsettling question hangs over every page: what happens when the life you built was once someone else’s?

This was such an addictive reading experience, fueled by paranoia and the sense that nothing is as secure as it looks. I kept turning pages, feeling that tight domestic tension that Daniel Hurst does so well. You can feel the pressure building as the past refuses to stay buried. Told in alternating points of view, Luna's desperation to hold onto her “dream” life makes her deeply unreliable and unstable. Reid's chapters made me hate him even more than I did before, and Sadie's chapters gave me someone to root for.

This sequel was fast, twisty, and unsettling in the way a good domestic thriller should be, with enough emotional stakes to keep you invested beyond the shock factor. While a few elements required a bit of suspension of disbelief, the pacing and tension more than made up for it. If you enjoy stories about obsession and and the fragile illusion of the perfect family, this one is an easy, compulsive read, and best of all? There is another book coming! So many thanks to Bookouture for this early copy that publishes March 20, 2026.

I Stole Your Family is another gripping, twist‑heavy domestic thriller from Daniel Hurst—one that hooks you immediately with its unsettling premise and keeps tightening the tension as the truth unravels. Hurst excels at exploring the darker corners of relationships, and this story of a woman clinging fiercely to the perfect life she’s built is both compulsive and deliciously unnerving.

The narrator’s voice is wonderfully sharp: proud of the home she’s created, fiercely protective of her partner and children, and constantly aware that everything she loves could be snatched away. That simmering paranoia gives the book its pulse. You can feel her scanning the edges of her world for threats, especially the one woman who has every reason to want her life back.

Hurst plays brilliantly with shifting power, blurred morality, and the question of who really deserves the life being fought over. The tension builds steadily as secrets surface and motives twist, and the sense of someone watching—waiting for the perfect moment to strike—keeps the pages turning fast.

As always, the twists land with impact. Just when you think you’ve settled into the rhythm of the story, Hurst pulls the rug out from under you in a way that feels both shocking and inevitable. The final stretch is especially satisfying, delivering that signature jaw‑drop moment fans will be expecting.

A fast, addictive psychological thriller about obsession, reinvention, and the dangerous lengths people will go to protect the life they believe they deserve. Perfect for readers who love domestic suspense with sharp edges and big reveals.

I Stole Your Family by Daniel Hurst is the second book in the series, and honestly? I am not okay.

This story dives straight in where I Want Your Family left off, and the tension is instant. There’s no warm-up, no slow burn — just immediate chaos, paranoia, and that constant feeling that everything is about to explode.

One of my favourite parts was the character development. Luna, Reid, Sadie, and Gemma feel even more layered, messy, and unpredictable in this book. The mind games are intense, the suspense is relentless, and the anxiety is genuinely palpable. I caught myself holding my breath more than once.

The pacing is ridiculously fast. It’s one of those books where “just one more chapter” becomes a full-blown lie, and suddenly you’re at the end wondering where the time went. The twists might not hit quite as explosively as in the first book, but they’re still sharp, clever, and perfectly timed, adding layer after layer to the drama.

And then… the ending.

That cliffhanger?
Unhinged.
Unacceptable.
Emotionally rude.

I actually stared at my Kindle in disbelief. I refuse to believe he ended it like that and expects us to function normally.

If you love psychological thrillers packed with tension, toxic dynamics, emotional warfare, and brutal twists, this series is an absolute must-read. I am fully invested and completely unprepared for the emotional damage book three is about to deliver.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author of the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I received this free advance copy via Netgalley. Thank you to Daniel Hurst and Bookouture. This review is being left voluntarily and the opinions are my own.

Sooo I absolutely flew through I Want Your Family. It was left on a cliff hanger and although I had planned to read I Stole Your Family next month U couldn't settle and have had to binge read this one too! The only issue now is book 3 hasn't dropped yet and it was left on another cliffhanger. I'm losing my mind - I need that next installment now!

We drop back inro the action following the aftermath of I Want Your Family. We hear from Sadie, a woman who has lost everything, and Luna, who seemingly has everything she ever wanted. Interestingly, we now also have the pov of Reid, Sadie's ex-husband and Luna's current boyfriend.

Luna remains just as unhinged, if not moreso, and is going to drastic lengths to keep hold of the life she feels she deserves. This spells out deadly consequences for some of the other characters.

Sadie is beginining to rebuild her life and as the reader you are reallly willing her onto the right path.

As I had just finished the first book in the series, the recapping felt unnecessary, but it would be helpful if you have left a gap between reading them (although I'm not sure how you could after that cliffhanger haha).

I am ready for the final installment! Thank you to Daniel for writing such bingeable and unputdownable domestic thrillers.

Daniel Hurst has done it again! If you’re a fan of Freida McFadden or fast-paced, popcorn thrillers, you need to add this to your TBR immediately.
The Plot: This story is absolute madness in the best way possible. It follows a protagonist so obsessed with a "perfect" family that she decides she deserves their life more than they do. Watching her manipulation tactics unfold was both fascinating and deeply unsettling.
What I Loved:
The Pacing: The chapters are short and punchy, making it one of those "just one more chapter" books that keeps you up until 2 AM. Hurst's writing style is very "show, don't tell," which works perfectly for the high-tension scenes.
The Characters: None of them are particularly "likable," but they are incredibly compelling. You'll find yourself shouting at the pages as the secrets start to unravel.
The Twists: I thought I had the ending pegged, but the final reveal actually made me gasp. Hurst is truly the king of the unexpected epilogue.
Final Thoughts: A dark, twisty, and addictive domestic thriller that explores just how far someone will go when they have nothing left to lose. It’s messy, dramatic, and a total page-turner.
Huge thanks to the author and publisher for the review copy!

Thank you Bookouture for the ARC

This book GRABBED me and did not let go.

Daniel Hurst is so good at creating that slow, creeping dread where everything looks normal on the surface, but you know something is deeply wrong. Every chapter adds another layer of tension, suspicion, and psychological unease, and I was completely hooked from start to finish.

The pacing is fast, the twists are sharp, and the mind games are brutal. I trusted no one, questioned everything, and kept telling myself “just one more chapter” until suddenly the book was over and I was staring at the wall.

And that cliffhanger???
Absolutely unhinged.
It was so intense I NEED the next book immediately. I refuse to believe Daniel Hurst just ended it like that and expects us to be okay.

If you love addictive psychological thrillers with messy characters, constant tension, and endings that leave you desperate for more then this is a must-read. I devoured it and I’m already counting down until I can continue the story.

The saga of the Hunt family continues in I Stole Your Family, and it is a MUST read! This second book of the series was an unputdownable page-turner that had my blood boiling and fueled my inner mama bear rage. I wanted to scream at my Kindle numerous times. I didn't think that the crazy could get any crazier, but Hurst never ceases to amaze me. He amped that cray-cray up to the next level and was like, TADA! I loved how the story has progressed thus far. The suspense and nerve-wracking anxiety were palpable from page one. My only disappointment is the cliffhanger. UGH! I'm Team Sadie, so I really hope that Luna receives her comeuppance. In the meantime, I will just be over here anxiously waiting for book three to find out how this drama ends. I highly recommend this book and series! Loved it!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book. I Stole Your Family is the second book in the series, and I found myself continuing to enjoy reading about the Hunt family. This book jumps between the perspectives of Luna, Sadie, and Reid. Also, there was more dialogue here than in the first book, which I enjoyed. I found Sadie to be such an easy character to sympathize with throughout this ordeal, and on the flip side, it was fun to watch Luna’s villain story unfold further.
Daniel Hurst always delivers an easy read with short chapters that keep the pace moving fast, and this one was no exception. I really enjoy his writing style because you can fly through the pages without getting bogged down. The story builds up to a great cliffhanger ending that has me excited to see what happens in book three!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

This is book 2 of a series and I highly recommend reading the first one!

I don’t want to mention too much of the plot in case of spoilers, but it carries on where the first ended. Luna is now living with Reid and the children, the family she stole, while Sadie is staying with her parents.

This again alternated chapters between the three main characters. It was interesting hearing Reid’s point of view this time.

The story moved faster than the first and was straight to the action. With frequent references to past events and what I would say is an assumption that you know the details of the events and characters.

The book ends explosively on a cliff hanger. It was sudden and I wasn’t expecting it. We need book 3 ASAP!

Definitely recommend this series.

Sadie has lost everything, her husband Reid, her two children, her home and finally her life as she knew it.
Arrested for drink driving with the kids in the car yet she hadn’t been drinking - she loses her license.
Then her parent’s house is set on fire by an arsonist while her kids are also in the house with them, but they have to rent a place and Sadie unfortunately has to move back home for the time being…… awkward seeing as she hasn’t lived at home for many years.

Then the delivery lady, Luna makes her next move and becomes the ‘Lady of the household’ moving into the home with Reid and the children to play happy families.

Luna is a dangerous woman and Sadie’s children are in danger but will she act upon her impulses or not?

Annoyingly the story ended on another cliffhanger so time will tell.

This did not need to be a trilogy. If it had been condensed in kne book, it probably would've been much more thrilling. Absolutely nothing happenss here before the 50% mark, and even then, it's not that exciting. On top of Luna and Sadie's POVs, we get Reid's in this one, but it's shallow and empty, and brings absolutely nothing to the story. Also, you can't keep on getting rid of people who get in your way and not get caught... Know that you will have to suspend disbelief big time in this one. While book 1 was entertaining, this one did nothing for me. Currently, the average rating on Good Reads is 4.46 and my mind is blown... What?!? I don't think we've all read the same book... Or it clearly was not for me.

This is book #74 from Daniel Hurst – can you tell he is one of my favorite authors? This is a sequel to I Want Your Family (read first if you can) so I couldn’t wait to see what happened next!

Luna stole Sadie’s husband and two children from right under her nose but now is looking over her shoulder. Is it time for Sadie to get revenge and take back what was rightfully hers?

This was truly a page turner – I could not read it fast enough to see what happened! I love Daniel Hurst’s books for many reasons – short chapters, clean language, and always keeps me guessing. The ONLY thing I did not like about this one was it left me hanging at the end – good news is there will be another sequel – can’t wait!!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookcouture, and the author for this advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Expected publication date: 20th March 2026.

This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed this one a lot!
It jumped straight back into the plot where the last one had left off, starting strong. The writing was more intense and the pace was fast.
It was again, one of those books where you keep saying one more chapter… I love that in a book!
More twists and revelations and I read it in 24 hours, extremely fast read.
What I do love about Daniel Hurst books is the no nonsense, no unnecessary padding in his books that can make it feel dragged out. He’s punchy!
I’ll be waiting for book #3!

If you’re looking for a thriller that will make you miss your bedtime, I Stole Your Family is it. From the very first chapter, the tension is thick enough to cut with a knife. Hurst has a talent for taking everyday situations and turning them into absolute psychological warfare. I thought I had the "twist" figured out halfway through—I was dead wrong. Fast-paced, dark, and utterly addictive.
