Bram Stoker Award-winning author of a bunch of demented books, including PRESSURE, DWELLER, CLOWNS VS. SPIDERS, AUTUMN BLEEDS INTO WINTER, MY PRETTIES, the official novelization of ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES, and lots of others!
Two goons are hired for the transport of a secret parcel. When machismo meets curiosity, the parcel is lost and what follows is a comedy of errors in trying to retrieve the precious goods. Lighthearted with episodes of slasher-type horror. Can recommend.
Wolf Hunt is an extremely entertaining book about two organized crime enforcers contracted to transport a werewolf. Needless to say, things do not go to plan! I think this is actually my favorite werewolf book and I've read many! The characters and dialogue really make the book. Ivan, a werewolf with a superiority complex, 2 enforcers whose sardonic banter is a good counterpoint to the graphic violence, a woman who was pulled into the debacle by pure chance. I also really like that this book bucks the common tropes that werewolves only change under a full moon, cannot control the change and lose human cognition in werewolf form! Overall, 5/5 stars, the first time I think I've given a werewolf book 5 stars! Highly recommended for creature horror fans, horror fans in general and any adult interested in reading something unique!
Thank you Jeff Strand for writing a book that made me laugh at things I’m 90% sure I shouldn’t laugh at. The humor-to-gore ratio was so perfect it felt illegal. I’ve loved everything I’ve read from him, and Wolf Hunt is no exception. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys chaos, carnage, and questionable moral choices.
Campy, ridiculous, gorey as hell--and yet somewhat enjoyable. Enjoyable mainly due to the wisecracking duo of criminal thugs. Campy south Florida stuff, and a fairly quick read. Don't expect great literature, just a wacky, different read.
