Determined: To Love

Rate this book
His sister told me I was special. Jenna had been abnormally interested in our relationship since the get-go. And for good reason. Despite being unbelievably hot, rich, and powerful, her billionaire brother had always managed to avoid dating anyone seriously. I was quite the novelty in the Keith household.

My best friend told me I was lucky. But I had to remind myself this wasn’t luck. David Keith had pursued me like an animal hunting it’s meal. Manipulating events, practically stalking me at parties— but honestly I was just as obsessed. We were addicted to each other and it felt so good.

Then I found out about her. And my entire world turned upside-down.

★★★★ ½! Determined, book 2 of 3. Gallery assistant swept of her feet by David Keith soon finds herself in danger!

I recommend these novellas be read in order:
Part 1: Determined
Part 2: Determined: To Love
Part 3: Determined: To Win

In Determined (part 1) recent college graduate and gallery assistant Samantha Sharp, Sam or Sammie met and was swept off her feet by the founder and head of Keith Ventures, venture capitalist and playboy David Keith aka DK aka Chief. It was truly a sexy, butterflies in your belly seduction and pursuit.

Determined: To Love (part 2) opens up a few weeks after the ending of book 1. David and Sam have settled in a comfortable relationship, still getting to know each other, but being comfortable with the L words, love and lust allowing for many steamy moments. But soon their world is rocked by set-backs, villains and danger. Quite possible all connected but how and why…?

David Keith aka DK aka Chief blew me away in book 1 with his quiet yet powerful presence. In all his suaveness he still manages to be down-to-earth! Eight words to describe David: Enigmatic, charming, determined, pragmatic, suave, possessive, controlled and reserved.

photo Det1 he BS by sb_zpsg8heffon.gif

Seven words to describe Samantha Sharp, Sam or Sammie: Spunky, candid, endearing, easy-going, honest, detailed and reflective.

Determined: To Love (part 2) offers a little bit of everything, steam, romance, drama, mystery, danger and secrets. It ends with a cliffy, but no worries just skip to part 3, Determined: To Win for the conclusion of their story.

Entertaining and suspenseful plot! Captivating and down-to-earth hero! Sizzling sex scenes!

What could be better than a steamy romance between two people who met by chance and the stars seemed to have aligned for them perfectly? How about a “Part 2?” Just in case you are starting to regain your regular breathing from Determined by Elizabeth Brown, she has come out with Determined: To Love and we are thrust back into the tropical heat of the romance between Samantha and David. Can their relationship survive interference from exes, past ghosts or doubt? Love is put to the test when Samantha discovers some hidden truths about David? Is she just a replacement for another lost love or is she the real deal that outshines all others? Will David even understand her feelings? If love can feel so good, how come it can also cause such pain and confusion? Samantha is willing to hear David out, but is he prepared to dish? At a crossroads, even their physical passion may not hold the power to keep them together?

Once again, Elizabeth Brown brings passion and romance to life with a blow torch. She has added just enough conflict to keep the pages from burning up as Samantha once again, shows the grace and maturity of a strong woman being threatened by unseen enemies. For a man who NEEDS to control, David still needs to learn to trust and expose himself, warts and all. Deeper and more emotionally jarring, with a touch of intrigue, Ms. Brown has once again, created earthy and passionate love and romance.

Chemistry, heat and angst combination.

Second part of the trilogy, not lacking in drama, hotness and as the relationship progresses you get a feel for the couple, their flirting, fights and banter.

With danger lurking, conspiracy a hit and run and an air of mystery around CEO David Keith, this was an excellent read drawing you deeper into the lives of Sam and David and the heat they bring.

Great second book.

I like it. Simple as that. I was enjoying the whole reading experience. I'm happy I give this author a chance. The story is not as excellent to the highest level but surely it was so wonderful that you wouldn't imagine that the author is new to the biz. Lol. And of course, she had created a male MC that will make you drool. So loving and amazing, you wouldn't asked for more. Another addition to my list of book boyfriends. ❤❤❤

3.5 of 5. This book follows some time after the events of the first book. Samantha and David were reveling in their new relationship, more eager to learn about each other now that their feelings had started to run deeper, added to the lust that had been a consistent roaring fire immediately the minute their eyes met that fateful night. But when Samantha learns something significant about David’s past that he didn’t mention, she feels betrayed. In Determined to Love things start to get a bit more interesting…

I’ll leave it at that. ;)

What can I say, with " Determined" book one in this trilogy, Ms Brown set out the bait and I took it, well now that I have finished Book two "Determined to Love" ; she is reeling me in, I am absolutely hooked and I am in a need to know situation .
Book two picks up shortly after the holidays and David and Samantha could not be anymore in love, Samantha hardly sees her little cottage she is at David's almost every night and they split the holidays between each others families and now it is back to work. For Samantha , the first day back brings , an art sale and a job offer, a tempting one , And at least worth hearing out, which she discusses with David , he agrees along as she takes her bodyguard Elliot , so you know from the first book David was big into Safety and just a tad ( yeah right) about control , Okay so maybe a lot about control, but the point I was trying to make is that David has hired Samantha her own bodyguard and car , just as an example of how far these two have come in Short time , but I digress. The job offer comes through and it is a great opportunity to be a personal art shopper and the salary is fantastic, but the travel well that is causing Sam to second guess, she knows David will not like the separation and to be honest she does not either ;but it bugs her that before David she would never have second guessed going for it .
So all in all all it is going great, well almost, someone is trying to cyber hack David's company and he is a bit tense about it , and concerned because who they think is doing it, may not discriminate as to who he goes after in order to hurt David.
I have already said to much, but the danger, suspense and intrigue ratchets up from here and jeapordizes everything!

It is important to read the first book in the series before you read this book.

This is part two of the Determined series. The story of Sam and David continues where these two begin their relationship after acknowledging their love for one another. David has security stay with Sam when he is not around. There is some mystery regarding someone from David’s past that he never mentioned to Sam; someone who is trying to harm not only him, but Sam as well.

When I started part two I still feel like the feelings that were expressed between David and Sam were said too quickly. However, by 65% I was beginning to understand some of the connection between these two. Sam kept saying and telling people that David is the one that pursed her. However, I never got that feeling. David to me is still not what I would consider an alpha. He tries to be protective, but it is as if he holds back.
I was worried at first that there was going to be some pining, but fortunately there was not.
I enjoyed the sequel more than the first book. There was a lot more happening in book 2 than there was in the first book. David does open up to Sam, but I felt him dodging questions as well. The mystery of not knowing certain things is what kept me reading. I actually saw a relationship develop in book 2 where in book 1 I felt it was strictly sex with admittance of “love”.

There was still a lot of unnecessary detail that could have been eliminated.

There is still one more book to complete the trilogy.

A great continuation from book 1. It picks up where book 1 left off. More drama, angst and heat from Samantha and David. The first half was a little slow and I expected more.

*I received this book through the Some Like it Hot group and author Elizabeth Brown in exchange for an honest review.*

In this sequel, Samantha Sharp and David Keith have been dating for less than two months, but they know they are already in it for the long run. Sam is still feeling like she has outgrown her job. Then one day, a nicely dressed woman, Gina, comes into the art gallery and asks Sam to come and work for her. Eventually, Sam accepts her offer and is well on her way to a new chapter in her life.

While on a trip to Hawaii, David mentions his old roommate from college. He tells Sam about how Brian has been trying to pose as David on the internet and they have had some trouble with him. For Samantha's safety, David wants her to live with him for a while.

After she unpacks her clothes, she goes to store her suitcase under the bed at David's aparment but it won't go all the way under. She pulls it back out and finds a shoe box. She discovers newspaper clippings and pictures inside. She is stunned when she reads one of the articles. Why has David not been completely honest with her?

I was having a little bit of trouble getting into this one at the beginning. There were just a couple of times where I would have to read a paragraph over once or twice. Of course, that might not have had anything to do with the book at all, could have just been me. However, once she finds that shoe box under the bed...I was in it to win it. I was not expecting that at all.

I'm starting to think that there is something up with her neighbor Gary. I have an inkling as to what it may be, but I will keep that theory to myself.

I am excited to get started on the last book in the trilogy, especially after the way this one ended!

I have to absolutely be honest... when I read the blurb for Determined to Love (the second book in the Determined trilogy), I almost cringed. The way David is described just did not fit his character-- don't let that description scare you off! The second book picks up where we left our characters, David and Sam-- happy, in love, and together. While the second book gives us another look at David from a historical perspective (hah), we also experience some well crafted suspense and excitement as a threat to Sam, David, and their loved ones unfolds. Can't wait to see what happens in the final installment!

Arc gifted in exchange for an honest review.

This is book 2 in the Determined trilogy and although it is the following book it can actually be read as a stand alone. The author has given enough of the background that the story will make sense without having read book 1. Don't know why you wouldn't read book 1 is was awesome!!!

So this basically starts where Determined finished. Sam has taken on David Keith and they are now boyfriend and girlfriend. As Sam struggles to deal with David's wealth and her own want for a career without David's input she finds herald falling more and more for him.

She gets a job opportunity that is more than she could have hoped for after a sale at the gallery she works at. Gina has offered Sam the chance to fit out her new home and although it scares her she really wants to jump at the chance but she finds herself wanting David's input.... And that annoys her age never wanted to rely on a man. She is strong willed but with David's help with the contract she feels a lot better.

In this book we learn more about David's sister Jenna, the poor girl who ruined Sam's new dress on that 1st night. And after finding out that David had planned the whole scene she forgives and forgets... But Jenna is kind of infectious and a bit annoying.

Along with Jenna we meet more in depth Sam.'s family abs especially her sister Erin who takes quite a big role about half way through the book, I won't ruin the surprise but your heart will be beating extra fast.

Sam has had a great upbringing with a lovely family and she uses that love towards David. He had had a tough life with the death of his birth mother and them his adoptive mother as well. David doesn't let others on easily but something changed that night he met Sam. He fell for her and fell hard, he lives Sam and does everything he can to prove it to her. Weekends away and a personal driver is just 2 of the things Sam now has to deal with.

But it is when David's past rears is ugly head and puts Sam in danger he puts everything possible in place to keep her safe, but without answers Sam struggles to deal with David and his life. When she needs him the most will he give up work to be with her or just leave her with her bodyguard ( which is super cute and another favorite in this story)?

now hanging to start book 3 and the ending to Samantha and David's story.

A leer y disfrutar chicas!!!!

This is the second part of Samantha’s and David’s love story. I highly recommend you read part one first even though it can be read separately. Samantha, an easy going yet determined UC Berkeley grad and self-made alpha billionaire, David continue to build their relationship through drama and threats from David’s exes.
You get a better sense of David's alpha ways in this second book through is actions to protect Samantha from is ex partner's threats. The relationship is put through several tests from past relationships and insecurities. I liked how Samantha kept her head and worked to rationalize David's behavior then wait to hear him. This book was even better than the first and I read it in one sitting. I would still like to hear from David's POV but overall this was a great read.

Part 2 in the DETERMINED series picks up several weeks later. David and Samantha are still going strong. Her family loves him which makes it even better.David hires A new bodyguard to protect Samantha and take her to and from work. That may seem a little extreme but it seems like there is some merit to it, when someone starts to interfere with Samantha's safety. Who is doing this?
I found myself crying in one scene. I really felt a connection with Samantha and when she was sad,i was sad. The ending is a cliffy and will make you want to start book 3 straight away!

This is the 2nd book in the Determined trilogy. The book continues the story of Samantha and David and their group of friends. But in this book some mysterious things begin to take place. We meet some new characters who we're not sure what to think about them. Suspicious events begin to take place and although David seems to know what may be going on Sam is left in the dark.
I really liked the intrigue that went along with this book.
This book does end in a cliffhanger but it's one I could live with....maybe because I knew the last book way already out!

I am on the last chapter of this book and I have absolutely no intention of completing the trilogy. There was no drama in the first book and in lieu of that the second book seems filled with angst and the threat of a pop up from the past. I thought the characters were very simple and the h was simple minded. I was quite bored with this book and I can tell for sure because while waiting at the mechanics I opted to stare at the walls instead of reading this book. I expected this to be a short quick read being that it's a rather shirt book of less than 300 pages but it feels so drawn out.

The book was good and well written. I just couldn't make myself like the heroine Samantha. This chick was an indecisive mess when it came to the simplest of things. She would tell a lot of little lies about the absolute simplest of things when it was unnecessary, and would've been so much easier to tell just be truthful. I didn't quite get where the author was going with that angle. Maybe it will make sense in the next installment.

Clearly, if you're a billionaire, you're not safe from jealous and probably psycho ex-roommates. And clearly, if you're the girlfriend of said billionaire, you better watch your back for psychos and catty women and crazy friends.

While I wasn't thrilled with the cliffhanger at the end of book 1, the cliffy at the end of this book is significantly better.

There was sufficient drama to keep my on my toes and enough emotion to keep me satisfied.

I would have loved this book besides the trilogy being similar to other popular trilogy, but the constant repetition of the previous book annoyed me & put me off I had to really walk away from it, it's a trilogy, I won't be reading book 2 of a trilogy without reading the previous book. That time would have been spent developing their chemistry because I can't sense it in the books so far. Do not get me wrong, it's a good read, would have been a 4 star read without the repetition

I have mixed feelings about this second book. On one hand, it was again very good reading with amazing characters but on the other hand, there were quite boring and overcomplicated parts of storyline. Yes, I'm talking about mostly-absentee villain and his strange motivations. I mean, I get his alleged actions in the past but those present ones didn't make any justifiable sense to me. I guess they would be explained in the book three, hopefully.

Definitely enjoyed book 2 more than book 1 and therefore can't wait until book 3 is out. David and Sam's relationship sort of throws me for a loop sometimes because of the intensity and quickness of it but as the story continues I get it. Book 2 presents them with their first real test and David's reaction was unexpected for me yet I liked it. Again can't wait to know what happens next.
