This was a miss. I really thought I was going to enjoy this and I'm so sad that wasn't the case..
I listened to the audiobook and I really liked the narrators, it's why I decided to give it three stars instead of two. While I didn't particularly liked the romance, the narrators did do a great job delivering the story.

Rose is back in her hometown to settle her father's estate and can't leave soon enough. She meets Grey and their first encounter doesn't end well.. Grey worked hard to get back on his feet and was a close friend of Rose's father Frank. They infuriate each other, but as the executors of Frank's estate they need to work together. Frank owed a lot of money in taxes and Rose and her sisters decide to reopen the family flower shop to make it easier to sell. Grey is helping them and the more time they spend together, the closer they get, but the time is ticking..

I honestly didn't really like Rose, I hated her attitude so much. I get where she's coming from, she deserved better, but that shouldn't justify the way she just disregarded others, it got on my nerves so bad. She did get better, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t like her.
Grey conquered his addiction and built a successful business. I loved how close he was with everyone and that he found a community he needed, but some of his reactions did irritate me. I absolutely hated the dynamic he had with Rose and sometimes it felt like he was the only one trying..
I did like the town though and how they were there for Rose and her sisters. Frank wasn't a good father, but he was a great friend.

I really wish we stopped referring to books as enemies to lovers when every time they fought and insulted each other, they were thinking about kissing and touching each other. Enemies to lovers and insta-lust don't go together. That only works if I don't know about those emotions until later. I don't want to read how they hate each other and want to jump each other on the same page.

While I usually love when they can't stand each other and always clash, it didn't work for me here.. I just don't like them together and I simply can't see any real connection between them, aside from the physical one. There was lust, but no emotional depth whatsoever. Their fights instead of exciting, were infuriating. It's probably a me problem, but they brought me so little enjoyment. I did love the prom scene, the auction and the grave scene, but that was it. The spice was okay, but I needed a deeper connection.. We needed more development.
Everything was wrapped up too neatly, I just don't see them lasting, but that's just my opinion. Them falling in love wasn't believable, it was too surface level for me..

While I didn't really liked the romance, you might feel differently.
I would've liked it so much more if we got some emotional scenes, where they showed their vulnerability..

🌷 Bookish Thoughts
This was a little too cheesy for me and the romance felt kind of forced. I just never fully bought into them as a couple. Both of them felt immature, especially in the beginning. I will say the MMC did grow on me toward the end, but Rose stayed immature and honestly a bit irritating all the way through.

I listened on audio and did not click with the female narrator at all. The male narrator, though, was excellent and I genuinely enjoyed his chapters.

🌼 What to Expect
• Enemies to lovers
• Reverse grumpy sunshine
• Small town setting
• He falls first
• Flower shop restoration
• Tattooed MMC

Steam level : Moderate

The perfect pairing of a city girl who would never move back to her small town home and the sexy tattooed farmer who can't imagine living anywhere else

Heartwarming sibling relationships with three sisters renovating the family flower shop after their father dies

Fantastic enemies to lovers banter teeming with sexual tension

A bit of a slow burn. We get heat at ~60% and wow was it worth it. Tell me something better than finding out the cinnamon rolls hero is also a dirty talker

Great balance of laugh out loud scenes and emotional moments that made my heart so full

This is small town rom com at its finest! Highly recommended!

I read Wallflower in Bloom as an ARC and loved it! Now that Conveniently in Bloom is about to come out I wanted to read the whole series. I was so happy that this one was just as cute!

Accidentally in Bloom combines an adorable small town, with a flower shop renovation, some family drama, and a tattooed biker hero who is actually a cinnamon roll with a steamy romance. It is honestly perfect! I was hooked as soon as Gray got off his bike and his dog has his own motorcycle goggles (I googled it and it's reel and adorable).

I related to Rose's need to always appear perfect. I liked that she eventually learned like all the lucky perfectionists that sometimes asking for help can lead to deeper connections than always doing everything for yourself. If you do everything yourself how can your boyfriend do swoon-worthy grand gestures to help you?

If you like small-town romance and you haven't read this one you need to drop everything and start this series! It's sweet, steamy, funny, and emotional! I can't wait to read Conveniently in Bloom!

🌶️🌶️🌶️ - Accidentally in Bloom has a handful of open door steamy scenes. They are detailed and well written.

I can usually do the “instant dislike banter” but I didn’t buy it here. He was too rude to her for me to want them together. Also-her dad leaving them with $340,000 in debt?! Irresponsible. Reading about that would infuriate me.

ARC review - 3.5 ⭐️’s. Cute spring read 🌺

This was such a cute spring read! It had so many great tropes — forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and a swoony single dad — plus banter that actually made me smile.

I really appreciated the addiction storyline woven into the romance. It added a bit more depth and emotional weight to the story, balancing out the lighter moments really well. And let’s just say… the spice was solid. Not over the top, but definitely satisfying.

Overall, a sweet romance with heart, heat, and just enough emotional depth to keep it interesting. A great pick if you’re in the mood for something fun and easy with a little substance mixed in.

This was an ARC I received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.

I wanted to fall in love with Accidentally in Bloom. Really, I did. But right from the start, this book and I just didn’t get along. On paper, it’s got everything you’d want in a cute small-town romance. Somehow, though, it turned into this wild mess of forced chemistry and characters who grated on me way more than they charmed me.

Let’s talk about the male lead first, because wow. I couldn’t stand him. His point of view was so cocky, like he thought every woman in town was falling all over themselves for him. The first thing he notices about the heroine? Her butt. Right out of the gate, that’s his big observation. You know the vibe: less “slow-burn tension” and more “dude at the gym who winks at his own reflection.” The whole romance felt like it was trying way too hard to convince me there was a spark, but I just wasn’t buying it. The audiobook narrator only made it worse. That smugness in the voice? Made me want to hit pause every time.

Rose didn’t help much, either. She wasn’t terrible, but I couldn’t root for her. Every time she looked at the guy’s arms, her whole personality seemed to deflate. Yes, he’s hot, we get it. But can we please get one inner thought from her that isn’t just “wow, he’s strong, I want him”? There were flashes where I thought, okay, maybe there’s more to her. But as soon as Gray was around, she just melted into this puddle of insta-lust.

Honestly, it felt like Rose and Gray were just running on physical attraction and a love-hate routine, but with no real reason to care about each other. The whole enemies-to-lovers thing? Didn’t land. It played out like:

“I hate you.”
“Same.”
“But... why?”
“Eh, who knows.”

Then, out of nowhere, they’re into each other. For no reason. Not the fun, chaotic kind of enemies-to-lovers, either — more like watching two people bicker in a parking lot and then suddenly start making out, leaving you confused and vaguely embarrassed for them.

And for a book that leans so hard into the physical stuff, the spice scenes were just… there. Rushed, awkward, and didn’t connect at all with who these people were supposed to be. It felt like the author penciled in “spicy scene here” because the genre demands it, not because the story earned it. When everything’s only about physical attraction, these scenes just fall flat. No tension, no payoff — just ticking a box.

Let’s not forget the nickname. Every time he called her “princess,” I cringed. It wasn’t sweet or flirty or even believable. It felt forced, like he was desperately trying to make a pet name land, but nothing in their relationship actually called for it.

Now, the whole subplot with the will and the flower shop? That’s where the book actually showed some heart. There was real potential there: family legacy, emotional stakes, a business worth saving, a cozy small-town setting. I loved the idea of the main character stepping up to keep the shop alive. You could almost feel the history in the walls, the warmth of the community, and the possibility of two people learning to work together for something that mattered. But the story barely scratched the surface. The flower shop ended up just being a cute backdrop, not a real part of the story.

Here’s the weird part: even after all that, I still kind of liked the book. I know, it makes no sense. The characters drove me nuts, the romance was flimsy, the spice didn’t work, and that “princess” nickname nearly sent me over the edge. But the setting? The flower shop? The cozy, small-town vibe? That kept me listening. The book wasn’t perfect — far from it — but there was something charming under all the nonsense. Maybe I just liked yelling at the characters. I don’t know. I finished it feeling annoyed, confused, but also, weirdly, entertained.

So yeah, despite all my complaints and eye rolls, I’d still recommend this book — to the right person. If you’re into small-town romances, love flower-shop settings, don’t mind a little chaos and insta-lust, and you’re not looking for deep emotional development, you might actually have fun here. It’s a good pick if you just want a cozy vibe and don’t care if the characters are a bit ridiculous. Basically, if you’re in it for the atmosphere, not the depth, Accidentally in Bloom might surprise you.

3.5⭐️ Well this was blooming cute!

Our heroine, Rose, returns home from the city, meets the infuriatingly sexy Gray, they bicker until tension boils over into to spice and ultimately (gasp) develop feelings. All of which takes place against the backdrop of small town flower farming and floristry. It’s formulaic, funny, swoony and very satisfying.

I adore seeing ambitious list loving, problem solving, control orientated and toxically independent women find love. I see so much of myself in Rose and share her type A personality with all its strengths and flaws. Her being loved for who she is and not despite of it is heartwarming. She (and her inner monologue) did get a bit too much at times.

Gray isn’t the usual guy I’d fall for. Yes, he’s charming, tall, dark and handsome but he’s also an ex addict. Their dynamic was fun, the banter on point and the trading of insults entertaining. This created some yummy tension for their inevitable first kiss. I loved the timbre of Gray’s voice all deep and commanding especially when it came to the spice. I might have rewound just to listen to it again. Mostly Vanilla flavoured but delicious all the same. Shout out to the panty stealing microtrope🔥👌

The writing was enjoyable and I was wrapped up in the story but there were some sections where I thought we were just going through the motions. The term ice princess was overused. Overall the dual narration was done well and I enjoyed the performance.

It’s the romantic gestures from Gray that are the real MVP and make this worth picking up.

I liked it and enjoyed the story. The steamy scenes were moderate, and there were some touching moments that really got me. However, there were also times when it felt a bit dragging, and I found myself wanting the pace to pick up.

It’s a sweet and emotional read with heartfelt parts, but for me, it’s not the kind of book that fully hooked me from start to finish. Still, I’m glad I gave it a try.

What a cute story! Elise found a way to connect the reader to the characters right from the start.

We’ve got some great tropes happening in this story.
🌹Reverse Grumpy Sunshine
🌸Forced proximity
🌷He falls first
🌻Enemies to lovers
🌺Small town
💐Duel POV

I’m a sucker for a good meet cute and Rose and Gray’s had me laughing. She quite literally ends up falling into his arms and it only goes downhill from there.

Rose has come back to her hometown of Fairwick Falls to settle the reading of her dad’s will. Little does she know, she will be finding a new business partner in the one guy she can’t stand, reformed bad boy and flower farmer, Gray Roberts. He’s charming, friendly and gets along with everyone, except Rose.

With the help of Gray and Rose’s two sisters, they get her family’s flower shop back in business. And while they face some difficulties along the way, it was so fun to watch Gray crumble all of Rose’s carefully constructed walls (and to do lists) as he works his way into her heart and life.

I was honestly rooting for them from the start and I loved watching the change that Rose went through and where she ended up by the end of the story.

If you’re a sucker for a romance, with a sweet guy in a small town, this is the book for you!

Thank you Elise for letting me be one of your ARC readers! I truly enjoyed this book!

I've really been feeling books set in flower shops lately, and Accidentally in Bloom fits the bill perfectly. Rose's life has crumbled when she's forced back to her small Pennsylvania hometown to settle her father's estate. Trying desperately to get back to her life in LA, she keeps everyone at arm's length, including resident hottie, Gray, who seems to be everywhere.

This steamy enemies to lovers romance had me smiling the entire time. It's complete with hilarious one-liners and great inner monologue from both main characters. I absolutely loved Rose and Gray's meet cute on the side of a rural PA road, and watching them fight their attraction from day one was a treat. I adored Gray so much. He keeps surprising you as the story unfolds and was full of sweet gestures that made me cry. I also loved the bond between Rose and her two sisters.

Read this one if you like...

This book felt like a version not yet ready for publication. “Accidentally in Bloom” has a horrible problem with telling and not showing.

I really liked the dynamics between Rose, Lily and Violet. They felt like sisters that could pick on each other but deeply care for each other’s well being and happiness too. I do wish that they had more emotional moments in which they discussed their late father and mother and how they had all been shaped by them. I think it would’ve been interesting for the siblings to explore how their trauma had shaped each of them and leant on each other as they mourned the loss of their father together.

Occasionally a sentence would be structured in a confusing way or would be slightly annoying to read. For example: there’d be too many words or the words used could’ve been condensed. I had skipped over the occasional over description of buildings as I enjoy when descriptive language is placed within thought processes instead of in paragraphs of entirely descriptive language about buildings.

Early in the book it was mentioned that Frank died because of a stroke, in his sleep. A little under halfway through the book his death was mentioned again but the reason is stated as being a heart attack. The continuity error didn’t change anything in the story but did pull me out of it.

Another continuity error that took me out of the book was Rose calling Gray by his full name “Graham.” It’s revealed a little earlier in the book that “Gray” is a nickname when his mother calls him by his full name, but Rose wasn’t there for the conversation and it was never mentioned during prior conversations between them. As far as I was aware, Rose had no idea his name was Graham so this interaction made no sense to me.

The end of chapter fifteen made me cry. It wasn’t much but I did shed a singular tear from each eye. I had conflicted feelings towards Frank at the time but it was clear to me that, while he wasn’t a good father, he was undoubtedly a great friend.

Gray and Rose had no chemistry. I don’t know what was missing but something wasn’t right between them. They’re both enjoyable characters but they didn’t feel like they worked together in a relationship or physically. And I don’t feel that Rose and Gray were in love. I know they say it towards the end of the book but there weren’t enough indications of genuine affection throughout the book for it to feel warranted for me. I know they enjoy having sex but I didn’t see anything more than forced physical attraction between them.

I don’t like Frank. I know the book was trying to make me like him because he was so great to Gray and the town loves him but he was an atrociously terrible father and that isn’t excusable. I know his wife died but he left his children. He left Rose to raise her siblings for years and he left his children with a massive debt because he couldn’t be bothered to pay his damn taxes. Frank was a pathetic excuse for a man and this book couldn’t have done nothing to make me like him.

I didn’t feel at any point like anyone was mourning Frank. Understandably Rose wasn’t very upset by his passing but as far as we’re led to believe Lily and Violet had no issues with their father. They would shed tears very occasionally when speaking about him but I didn’t feel as if anyone in the town or the sisters or Gray really cared at all that Frank was gone.

There were many times during spicy scenes in this book when the hand or leg or general body placement described wouldn’t sound right. Something always felt off, with one thing being described and then directing another that would contradict the first with no proper transition between the two.

I think the ending of this book would’ve felt more engaging if Rose had left. I believe Rose should’ve gone back to LA and realised there that her life isn’t what she’d hoped for herself, that she wasn’t happy. I would’ve liked to have seen her come back to Fairwick Falls and apologise to Gray, profess her love in an embarrassing and cheesy way. I think she should’ve had a conversation with her sisters about how their absent father changed her and why she acted the way she did. I think Rose should’ve had to find a way to stop the sale of their flower shop before it was too late and choose to stay after having left and returned. This actual ending fizzled, with no suspense of sense of payoff.

Overall I think “Accidentally in Bloom” had the potential to be a great book but it just fell short in too many areas.

A cute small town romance, enemies to lovers.

With a killer dedication,
For the Weird Girls, For the You’re Too Loud Girls, For the You Might Intimidate Him Girls, For the Don’t Be a Showoff Girls. For all the girls who thought they were somehow too much and also not enough. You deserve swoon-worthy love.

Accidentally In Bloom is an adorable small town romance. It was a great read, however the inconsistencies in the storyline and the odd plot devices (IRS bandit, co-executorship) really took me out of the story. Otherwise the characters were really well thought out and unique from each other, the backstory for the main characters was exactly enough and well spread through the book.
Plenty of spicy scenes too ;)
This was my first Elise Kennedy book, and while I enjoyed it, I am not itching to read the next books in the series. I might get to them in the future, but they’re not making my TBR right now.

Best

Rose’s self talk is so relatable and was quite authentic throughout the book. An example of excellent writing.
I’m not dying. It’s not a heart attack. It’s just my sympathetic nervous system trying to tell me what I already know: I am stressed the fuck out.

Worst

The writing is great however there are a few plot points that are a little off. The whole IRS storyline felt unnecessary and unrealistic. The co-executorship was cheesy and an obvious plot point to force proximity.
“In the case of the co-executorship, Frank was very particular that you have to sign off on all decisions together. The decisions of what to do with his property, finances, everything.”

There were also a few moments where the text didn’t exactly make sense - the characters moved twice, or doubled back. Just a few moments that could have been edited better. These moments took away from the storyline and really detracted rather than added in my opinion. This book could have been 4 stars if it were edited a little better.
Also there were several times during spicy scenes where Rose “sobbed with pleasure” which I found hard to get past. For me, sobbing is crying, and I didn’t get the sense that she was crying, maybe ‘gasped with pleasure’ was the intent. This is obviously not a big deal but it really irritated me every time.

Favourite Quotes

A deep sigh hit Gray. How was it comforting to know he wouldn’t be comforted? To know in his bones that he’d be disappointed?

A quintessential small town, opposites-attract romance with great chemistry and an adorable dog. I wouldn’t call this a sweet romance as it definitely ramps up in the steam department quite quickly (Gray’s dirty talk gave me whiplash ngl), but the stakes are low and the banter is top-tier.

While I didn’t find Rose very relatable, I loved her independence and tenacity. Rose’s relationship with her sisters develops beautifully throughout the story, transitioning away from the more maternal role Rose assumed when they were growing up. The scenes with just the three of them were among the strongest, and little snapshots we got into Violet and Lily’s personalities made me curious to continue in the series.

Gray is a gruff, tattooed, motorcycle-riding ray of sunshine who is clearly beloved by everyone in his town (much to Rose’s annoyance). That said, I’m kind of mad about the surprise kid reveal. Presumably, this surprise was intended for the reader and for Rose and it highlights how tacked-on this plotline is. Gray being a father is not a meaningful addition to the plot and is a detriment to his character. You’re a devoted dad and every decision you make is about your kid, but you don’t mention him until he materialises before you? Ick.

All that aside, the descriptions of this small town were great with a strong cast of quirky side characters. A sense of rallying community was highlighted well in the fundraising scene, one of the most cinematic in the book for sure. My favourite scene by far was the first scene at the graveyard (after the first day the flower shop is open, iykyk), the fact that this made me cry actual hot salty tears shows me that this will be the first of many books I read by my girl Elise.

Notes on the audiobook: none! Stunning performances, I’m glad I waited a bit longer to read this one with my ears. Thank you to NetGalley and to Ms. Kennedy for the chance to read this great story!

Thank you to Netgalley for the advance listener copy!

Accidentally in Bloom was such a good book! I am a sucker for an enemies to lovers romance and this really fought hard on the whole enemies part for sure. I will say I do understand why Rose acted the way she was and how she wanted to be the perfect person to hide her own insecurities, (I think we all do this in a way) but I wish it weren't so heavy on her being so negative.

I enjoyed Gray a lot (honestly the voice actor made him seem older than what I was envisioning). With his past, he was also fighting an internal battle that many people would NEVER see or think about, and it was kind of eye opening. Makes you wonder how many people are truly fighting these silent battles daily. I love that Gray was a man who knew what he wanted and just jumped in and basically got it.

I'm not sure if I LOVE the relationship between Rose and Gray, but I think it could work! (Good this these are fictional characters right?) All in all tho - the audiobook was very well made and I enjoyed it A LOT! I did have to take some time to get used to Gray's voice, but in the long run it worked amazingly!

this was a cute, spring romance. the narrators did a great job. however, i personally think the male narrator’s voice sounded a bit older for the character. (no shade to ryan, he still did great!)

i really enjoyed the sister dynamic, it was sweet and fun. the story was easy to follow and had some moments that keep me interested.

the romance felt more insta lust than enemies to lovers for me, so the connection didn’t feel super deep, but there were definitely some cute moments. rose can be a little prickly at first, but she grows a little on you by the end of the story.

overall, this was a charming listening. not a perfect match for me personally, but if you’re in the mood for a small town romance, dual pov, and spice, this might be for you.

Elise Kennedy does such a great job at combining a good plot with spice! While this book covered serious themes like a parent's death and past drug use, it still felt cozy and, of course, had lots of spice! I'm obsessed with Fairwick Falls and wish I lived in a cute small town like this one.

The MCs are basically forced to work together, and even though they can't stand each other, they are undeniably attracted to each other and have trouble keeping the "no sleeping together" rule 🤭
I loved watching them fall for each other and seeing the flower shop get renovated. Rose, the FMC, has such a cute family and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

I immersive read this book, and the narrators did such a great job! I totally recommend listening to audiobook!

Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing me the ALC for this book in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this story. This is a small town, enemies to lovers, forced proximity and a bit spicy.

Death brought together the main characters in the story. Now they are partners in business and it’s chaotic.

She’s trying to figure out what to do and he has a solid plan. He falls first and she keeps denying her feelings until one day it’s game over. They have a business agreement that they wouldn’t sleep with each other, but can’t they be truthful to themselves?

What will happen to the flower shop?
This book was so cute and entertaining to read.

This story was so cute & a little steamy! I really enjoyed the reverse grumpy sunshine dynamic & I always enjoy a good enemies to lovers story! Rose & Gray were flirty & their banter was fun! The moment when they finally gave in the first time. 🤌🏻 I loved watching Rose fall back in love with her hometown & family business. The little special touch for what the whole town did on re-opening day. Whew. That was so sweet. 🥹 I received this ALC from author Elise Kennedy in exchange for my honest review. & I’m so glad she did! I really enjoyed this sorry! Thank you so much!

Adorable. Really liked this. Was a bit annoyed with Rose sometimes though, but it was a very nice storyline. I really enjoyed it.
I liked this sentence: "Local places run differently. It's about how well you know your customers and your commitment to the community, not just 'Is your product good.' People support small businesses that support the community." I really liked the first two sentences. Just recently I talked with my grandparents about this. I think even big cities could sometimes use a small community attitude.

This one was just okay for me. Gray and Rose’s story is another enemies-to-lovers, but with a bit of a twist since she’s the grumpy one instead of him, which I did like. It gave the dynamic a slightly different feel.

There’s a little added tension with the debt collector storyline that brings some angst, but overall the book didn’t fully capture my attention. I liked parts of it and it wasn’t a bad read by any means, but it also didn’t pull me in or make it hard to put down.

Not bad, not great… just an average read for me.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you for #NetGalley #EliseKennedy for allowing me to listen to this ARC

I enjoyed this story about Rose and Gray. She returns to her small home town to deal with her late father's estate and intends to get out of there ASAP once she checks off all the items on her list. She has sisters (Violet and Lily) to help her but what she did not count on was Gray Roberts. He's a recovering addict who formed a bond with her late father. He's handsome, hot, and has everyone in the town charmed. Rose's father requires her to work with Gray as co-executors of his estate. Control freak Rose is not happy about this and has to figure out how she can get everything done while fighting her attraction to the hot, tattooed flower farmer. Eventually things work out.

ARC review- audiobook:

This was a cute rom-com with a light story, perfect for spring. The forced proximity and kind of workplace romance was fun, and the spice was sweet and delicious.
However the female maincharacter was a bit annoying but was a great opposite to the male maincharacter.

Worked very well as an audiobook!

3,5 ⭐️ and a thanks to netgalley for the ARC
