I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is a story about 5 women who became friends at college and since they all lived in the same area continued their friendship. The 5 women and their husbands initially started meeting for dinners, but the husbands did not enjoy them as well so they changed their routine. The 5 women now made a point to meet at a cafe on a schedule each Thursday and Saturday. At their meetings they talked about what was going on, and in one case they wound up playing a hypothetical game which related to their husbands. They believed it was harmless and no one in the read was aware of what they were doing. They later discovered that they had been overheard and all of a sudden, things were different.
Read along and follow the women and their lives get messed up and what they did in the end to resolve their issue. Find out what the game was that involved the husbands and what eventual role it played in the story. Learn who overheard them and how that individual knew them many years earlier.
The ending will answer any questions. It is worth a read.
5 women who met years ago and keep their friendship going with lunch ever week. They do this for years. They wanted their husbands to come with them and in fact started with dinners instead of lunches but the husbands don't enjoy each other as much so they made the change. The women use the lunches to vent about life, thinking that it was all just a game. That is until one of the husbands end up dead, followed closely by a second. Now they must figure out who is doing this before the other 3 husbands die and maybe one of them as well.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Killer Concept: A Psychological Thriller, my fourth read from author JJ Jax. A 283-page Psychological Thriller. Even though the killer was given away way too early in the book and *SPOILER* the painting was way too obvious, still it was a wonderful read. I was given a complementary Kindle copy of this book & I'm voluntarily reading & reviewing it. The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to my next read from this author as they're published. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
5 women who've known each other for years routinely meet for lunch. They tried dinners with their husband's, but the men's personalities didn't mesh. The women would vent, chat, dream, etc. as most friends do. Venting led to what they thought was hypothetical games. Then 1 husband died, then another. The women became afraid and wondered which one would be next. They felt caught in a cat-and-mouse game. This is a thought provoking book and makes you think about possibilities, what-ifs, and the 'invisible' people you don't notice. It's a good read.
Killer Concept is a thought provoking psychological thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat! I was hooked from the first intriguing chapter. So many twists and turns and so much drama. An amazing read.
Good book with lots of characters and friendships. Nice with a story that circling round a group of friends that meets regularly at a diner. I liked the plot and the style.
