He's going to punish me, I know it.
I was just delivering a cake for a friend - I sure as hell wasn’t a birthday gift to a billionaire. But now that I was here, I didn’t dare leave.

Even if I wanted to, he wouldn’t let me.

Lacey Miller is two days away from being kicked out of her apartment when her best friend offers her a job for some quick cash. Easy as cake, right? Wrong.

Billionaire playboy Jake Carville has been looking for years for the perfect submissive. On his birthday, he's looking forward to a special gift: a girl who can satisfy his every dark craving.

But when Lacey walks through the wrong door and into Jake’s arms, she’s everything he’d hoped for... and nothing he ever expected.

How can he lose himself, heart and soul, to a girl he was never supposed to meet?

This is PART TWO of the DARK BILLIONAIRES erotic romance series:

I'll give to Dark her writing was able to keep me curios. It's way to obvious where the tail is headed. But I'm humored enough to keep to see how Dark will put her spin to a storyline that is becoming increasingly popular.

I just wish for once authors would step up and let woman who own their sexuality get some air time. I mean come on how many females do you know nowadays that carry their v - card? Personally I know of only 1. She's my teenage daughter. This I know as fact because she shares way too much with me. Lucky, I know.

Anyways, I'll be waiting for serial number 3. Have I mentioned I'm growing to dislike serials? I always take a star away for serials because it's as if authors are trying to milk the readers dry of hard earned money. However, if the serial is part of Amazon Unlimited like this serial the author gets it back because the author understands that some readers are not made of money.

Thanks Dark for being part of the Kindle Unlimited family. I'll enjoy reading your work as you grow as an author.

Lacey and Jake’s story continues as they step deeper into his world of darkness, dominance, and wealthy. The Iowa native isn’t used to being taken care of, but her desire for Jake, and the lifestyle he offers outweighs her apprehension. He brings to life parts of herself she never knew existed. It’s exhilarating, and a bit scary, but she can’t stop. Because she’s attracted to Jake like a moth to a flame.
Lacey is getting under his skin to the organ he didn’t realize exists. As they continue down their road he’s breaking his rules, and revealing parts of himself he prefers to stay hidden. She challenges him at every turn, and he disciplines her with a strong yet loving hand. The more she blossoms, the more he distances himself from the potential hurt.
They’re engaged in a battle for the heart, and it’s a brilliant complicated game that’ll keep you riveted and turning to the next page.

This series is excellent, so much better than a lot of other stuff that's out there. Each installment is a full 100 or so pages and only .99 (or free on Kindle Unlimited) so it's not one of those ridiculolus 2.99 per episode for 49 pgs kind of thing, and the writing is really well done, with complex characters. Very much worth it. Reminded me of the Crossfire series and Up in the Air series. It's one of the few novella series that I've been pulled into (read three so far).

After reading the first part I was interested to see where this story would go. I thought that it might be predictable, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that rather than being just a load of sex scenes this involved two people really getting to know one another. There's plenty of sexual tension, and secrets are revealed. I enjoyed this and look forward to reading the final instalment.

Maybe Lacey's not as cool as I thought. For such an innocent, she allows Jake too many liberties. He seems charming one minute and rude the next. And what is his problem with being called by his name? And as per Lucas, what secrets surround his family? Well I'm going to read book 3 to hopefully find some answers. Maybe some sex even lol. This series isn't very sexy or erotic so far.

Well...

I find that is she attracted to him because she has low self esteem? She seems to drawn to him because of how he looks at her... I enjoyed the read but at times I get frustrated... On to the next installment

This was a great series. Quick, fast paced story. Easily pulled into and engrossed in the roller coaster ride this story puts you on. Fun and emotional with romance and sexual tension, everything you need. Will be looking into this author.

This second book in the series didn't do anything to change my opinion. He knows she has no clue what's going on but still continues to treat her as if she does. She hasn't consented to any of this stuff, she has no idea about anything to even consent to it.

I've decided to include all three books in one review, since they basically cover the same topic. When I reached for this trilogy, I was expecting something resembling Aubrey's previous books His by Aubrey Dark and Mine by Aubrey Dark . Well I was wrong! So very wrong! But it turned out it was a good surprise. These books explore the Dom/Sub lifestyle. Lacey find herself in the wrong place in the wrong time. Simply helping a friends puts her in a situation she not only never had anything to do with, but at the same time makes her want to explore the unknown. Jake is mysterious at first, but controlling as always. The story is well written, the situations when we get a little glimpse of who the hero really is are great. As it is with the author's male heroes they all have secrets and are tormented until they find the one.
What would make the book even better would be having it all in one. One thing that puzzled me was Jake's idea if innocence. But I will it for all parties interested to discover.

We pickup Lacey and Jake when he still has her at his apartment where she was brought after he had her kidnapped by his men because she didn't go home like he told her to do and Lacey is a person who asks many questions and Jake is quite taken with her they discuss her upbringing as well as where she grew up her painting he lets her paint and satisfies some desires but not all she realizes she will be late for work Jake says he will call in for her but doesn't she realizes that she probably got fired but Jake says that if she needs money he will give it to her not understanding her independence she takes a nap and he bathes her and then they go out to dinner Lacey is shocked that she doesn't know anything about Jake and that he wont actually tell her anything about himself she knows he likes her body and likes kissing it and touching it but more than that she is in the dark as dark as Jake is when they return from dinner and dancing they go to the playroom and Jake shows her something she has never done before or suspected about herself Jake has a moment and says for her to sleep.

This is a six-part novel series. It is very sensitive and at times very funny wth extremely hot BDSM scenes, Lacey is a graffiti artist who is about to lose her apartment. She has taken a part-time job as a bartender at night along with her job as a waitress in the daytime. Her bff Steph who owns a bakery has asked her to deliver a $2000 birthday cake for her and she'll pay her $100. Lacey's a tomboy and doesn't wear dresses. But Lucas the man that commissioned the cake's delivery has insisted it be delivered by a female in a dress. Steph dolls Lacey up and sends her on her way. She winds up going into the wrong room while looking for the kitchen and enters an art gallery in the billionaire's home. Her heel gets caught in the deep pile carpet and she looses the cake. She kicks off her shoes and walks barefoot looking at the art and she sees that the cake lands on the floor and the shoe of the billionaire birthday cake recipient, Jake. He mistakes her her as the gift that Lucas has promised him as a birthday gift for a week. An amazing read. So much happens to this couple.

I'll review the series, because each book has like 60 pages and....

So, thank GOD for Kindle Unlimited, because i don't think i would have paid money for this series.
As i have said before, i don't really like short novels. They all seem rushed. This one included. BUT, this one has something new: a billionaire, but like to dress up in hoodies and paint graffitis through NY or Paris. Seriously?

Anyways, something in all this smells a lot like FSOG. Alpha male handsome billionaire, who likes kinky stuff (BDSM, of course), sad childhood, meets young virgin whom he starts to fall in love with and .

I must admit, it was intriguing and i didn't dislike it. There was just sex, so it was ok.

Waking up blindfolded and tied to a bed … what would you do? But then you hear that voice that you met just hours before and your fear melts. For Lacey, being back in Jake's orbit is shocking and wonderful. She really doesn't understand why he is interested but she will take what she can get. Then she drops a bomb on Jake and his plans shift but she is still his for the week. Jake gives Lacey the best gift, an art studio filled with blank canvases and all the supplies she could dream of with the order, paint, so paint she does. Once again the chemistry, banter and sexy encounters kept me entranced and wishing for more.

Who is really in charge?

It is a good story, but this piece takes so long to go anywhere, that I was tempted to stop. By the time the story starts moving again, this section ended in what felt like the middle of a scene. I was beginning to not like Jake, wondering from what was left unsaid, if maybe he was a pedophile or a serial killer. He did have Lacey grabbed out of an alley, and did no one miss her or call the police? When he teared up and got angry at it being witnessed, I really questioned his sanity and his supposed Dominance. I am torn. The story line seems good, but I didn't love this part.

*Honest Review in exchange of an ARC*

After reading Mine (His, #2) by Aubrey Dark , which was a pain... a sadistic pain (pleasure-pain-pleasure-pain-pain), this trilogy was really refreshing, even it's dark, it flows wonderfully and you are expecting for more, which Ms. Aubrey delivers perfectly!

Delivering a cake wasn't so much exciting before. It's all I'm saying!

If you want to read something good, quick, and dark, this is it!

His Gift (A Dark Billionaire Romance Part 2) by Aubrey Dark
** I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for my honest review **
Part 2 begins where part 1 left off with a very intense, hot scene between Jake and Lacey. Jake is still being very arrogant and demanding. Lacey finds herself conflicted by her mixed feelings and reactions to Jake. By the end of part 2 it is clear that Jake has fallen for Lacey. Part 2 is wrapped up with a nice little cliffie leaving me wanting to tear into part 3 right away!

Hmm. Our billionaire Jake is still elusive.
He seems very...innocent is what I'm thinking. Naive. Of course not sexually, but in the ways of the world and having to work to have something - these things he doesn't seem to grasp.
When Lacey was speaking with his friend Lucas, he almost made Jake sound childlike.
I get the feeling things are going on around Jake that he is very much unaware of. Betrayals which will cause future problems.

Better than book 1

This one picks up where book 1 left of with Lacey being kidnapped. We get to know the characters better in this book and the chemistry between them is just off the charts. Lacey tried not to want him and tries to fight the desire but her body seems to win every time.

Great continuation cannot wait to see what book 3 brings us.

This is a very quick read that I would not consider a dark one - at all. It does have some theme of a type of abduction. I wouldn't consider the sexual situations abusive. Overall this story is ok, I just feel like something is missing...

very sexy story. Needed a little more to the ending. Captivated my attention, I read all 3 in one day (HIS GIFT). I'm glad it had a good ending with a promise of continuation. The art studio sounds like a lot of fun!
