I would have given it a 5 star rating but the beginning was a little cheesy and could have had a better start. But after the rocky start I loved the rest of the story.
Jeanie was a strong, sweet and beautiful heroine.she had spunk and sass too, which I love In y heroine. Camden didn't stand a chance. And our hero was swoon worthy. Strong but tender and sweet. And he was great with Jeanies sister too.
Great marriage of convience story, except for the kinda silly start. MC had chemistry and sexual tention. It had the hot factor and kept me turning the pages till the last page.

I'm only 50% in, but I'm not a fan of this narrator. It really annoys me when the “t” sound in the middle of words is skipped over. The bold “t”s are annoyingly silent: important; written; button; certain and so on..... I cringe when I hear this.
Storyline: Very Harlequin Presents so far.
Update: I just finished it....barely. I didn't feel any chemistry between the characters and felt there was not enough development to connect with them.

This had great potential but was missing elements. Storyline didn't transition clearly or consistently. Far too much happening at a rapid pace, with no clarification or development. Inner monologues were repetitive and got slightly boring. I'll give the next one a try...hopefully there's been an improvement in the style of writing.

I gotta say, I wasn’t much of a fan of this book. It just wasn’t for me.
I guess, mostly, it was the fact that these guys were all over the place. One moment they liked each other, then they acted cold to the other, and then they were hot as hell. It was just too much flip flopping for my taste. They constantly acted the opposite of what they were thinking of doing, and there was a LOT of miscommunication, or more like lack of communication.
I just couldn’t see them together at all, even when they had feelings for the other. I honestly never really got to know them, because they were always masking their emotions, and acting weird. I could never understand their real motivations.
I don’t know, like I said, it just wasn’t for me.

This book with one of my favorite themes of the fake engagement starts out strong. There is sizzle between the leads and a kind of randomness to their meeting that makes the love story extra fun. The fact that the heroine has a child adds new layers to this theme. However, this fact wasn't integrated in a way that was compelling. The little girl became more of a plot point than anything else. The heroine's best friend was great. The book floundered for me in the end with too much push pull cliche but was a fun read overall.

Der Anfang der Geschichte war für mich ganz vielversprechend und ich habe mich darauf gefreut weiterzulesen. Es gab einige wirkliche witzige Situationen, aber leider ist die Begeisterung nicht geblieben.
Auch wenn mir die Charaktere nicht unsympathisch waren, bin ich mit ihnen nicht so richtig warm geworden und auch die entstehende Liebesbeziehung zwischen Jean und Camden wirkte auch mich zu erzwungen und zu gewollt. Funken waren für mich leider nicht zu spüren.
Insgesamt will die Geschichte dann irgendwann zu viel und es gibt immer wieder neuen Ärger und neues Drama, das hat mich dann ziemlich schnell gelangweilt und ich war dann einfach nur froh mit dem Buch durch zu sein.
Was mich ebenfalls gestört hat war, dass die Geschichte überhaupt kein world-building hat. Man weiß nicht wo man ist, es wird nichts drumherum beschrieben. Dies wirkte auf mich ziemlich lieblos.

I LOVED this story, it was a refreshing take on the billionaire love story. Penthouse Prince is so well written, that once you pick it up you won’t want to put the book down till you finish it. This was my first book from this author and I will definitely be looking for more from her.

CEO Camden James had a fiancee, one who cheated and lets face it he didn't love her. Now with his fathers unexpected visit, he knows the only way to get the stocks for the company he rebuilt is to find another fiancee. Fortunately for Camden, in walks call center employee Jeanie Long. Winging it, he pulls her into his life as his faux fiancee and although she has a few secrets he plans to uncover, he cant get enough of her. Camden doesn't believe in love, but he does believe in attraction and he thinks he can have a happy marriage with Jeanie as long as love is not part of the equation. He adores her daughter and finds he is happiest when she is in his company. He would never admit it, but he does get a tad bit jealous but will Jeanie agree to a loveless marriage?
Very fun. Camden is a hardened man and he is not sure what is happening to him. He has memories of his parents disastrous marriage and he has no intention of reliving that ever. Jeanie goes along with Camden's plan but she is not one to back down from Camden who tends to bulldoze his way over others. Entertaining read.

I loved the book, and Virginia Nelson is an author I will read again and again!
What I loved most about Penthouse Prince was that she added a lot of classic references (dressing like Audrey Hepburn, then the famous quote by Rhett Butler, the fairytale type nickname that the hero received from the press, etc) into the story. Yet, this doesn't feel like a book I read before. The author's voice is strong and she brings a fresh twist to the tropes.
Jeannie is a great heroine! I really rooted for her. She and Camden shared a sizzling chemistry -- not just sexually, but I truly enjoyed their interactions. There was a lot of humor and also a fabulous heartfelt vibe I won't soon forget.
A winner! :)

This was painful to read
I don't know how I forced myself to finish this book. The main character Camden was awful, his thoughts and words just seemed so corny. The scenes didn't flow,one minute the characters where in one location and the next some where else. It was very badly written.

Der Plot der Geschichte ist nicht wirklich neu, zumindest nicht für mich, denn ich habe schon einige ähnlich geartete Geschichten gelesen. Daher war ich auf die Umsetzung sehr gespannt, ob sich dieses Buch von den anderen Geschichten abheben kann.
Es handelt sich bei diesem Buch um den ersten Band einer neuen Reihe mit dem Titel „The Billionaire Dynasties“. Das Buch setzt sich aus 31 Kapiteln und einem Epilog zusammen und wurde in der 3. Person geschrieben und die Erzählweise wechselt nicht zwischen einzelnen Protagonisten hin und her, wie oft bei solchen Büchern üblich.
Die Schreibweise ist erfrischend und lebhaft und daher angenehm lesbar und das Buch ist ohne Längen gut und schnell lesbar.
Wie schon oben erwähnt, ist der Plot der Geschichte nicht neu oder überraschend, dennoch wird man als Leser nicht enttäuscht oder legt es gelangweilt aus der Hand.
Die Charaktere sind interessant und vielseitig heraus gearbeitet.
Auf der einen Seite haben wir den CEO Camden. Er ist der typische aalglatte und harte Kerl, der er in seinem Job auch sein muss um es soweit nach oben geschafft zu haben. Er wirkt vielleicht auch unsympathisch und unnahbar, dennoch ist sein Charakter so ausgelegt, dass er sich im Verlauf des Buches verändert und man seine Beweggründe und Facetten verstehen lernt. Irgendwann im Laufe der Geschichte, ändert sich dann auch die Sicht des Lesers auf ihn und man beginnt ihn wirklich ins Herz zu schließen.
Und dann haben wir auf der anderen Seite noch Jeanie. Eine frische, natürliche und unsichere junge Frau, die mit der Situation sichtlich ihre Probleme hat am Anfang. Doch nach und nach freundet sich sich damit an und schafft es auch Camden ordentlich auf den Schlips zu treten und ihm den Kopf zurecht zu rücken, was für Ihn auch eine völlig neue Erfahrung darstellt, da es kaum jemand wagt so mit ihm umzugehen. Daher kann man durchaus sagen, dass Jeanie eine willens- und charakterstarke Persönlichkeit ist. Sie schafft es neue Facetten aus dem CEO heraus zu kitzeln und hinter seine Fasade zu blicken.
Die Gespräche zwischen den Beiden sind teilweise wirklich extrem humorvoll und sie beginnen irgendwann besser miteinander zu harmonieren.

Allerdings sei auch angemerkt, dass die Story es dennoch schafft das Herz des Lesers zu erreichen und zu erwärmen und mit hinein zu ziehen, so dass man versucht ist das Buch zu schütteln, da man ja der Protagonisten nicht habhaft wird um diese in die richtige Richtung zu schubsen. Und dann kommt es doch noch… beim Leser… das Herzleid!!! Gegen Ende des Buches schmerzt einem das Herz und die Geschichte hat es endgültig geschafft den Leser in den Bann zu ziehen und den eher seichten Anfang wett zu machen. Daher sollte man sich nicht täuschen lassen und dran bleiben und das Buch wirklich zu Ende lesen, denn diese Story ist dann doch mehr als nur einen leichte Unterhaltung. Immer wieder gibt es Momente, welche der Geschichte neues Leben einhauchen und den Leser noch mehr mit auf die Reise nehmen. Denn es gibt Witz und Humor, sinnliche Szenen, Romantik und Herzeleid. Gut, nicht jeder wird der Geschichte Glaubwürdigkeit zugestehen wollen, denn allein schon sich auf solch einen Deal einzulassen und dann alles innerhalb eines begrenzten Zeitrahmens geschehen zu lassen, machen das ganze eher unrealistisch. Aber es geht ja auch um Unterhaltung und nicht um den tristen grauen Alltag, den wir jeden Tag selbst erleben. Bei Büchern geht es darum um eben von genau diesem abschalten zu können, sich zu entspannen und zurück zu lehnen und alles andere außen vor zu lassen und in eine Welt einzutauchen weit weg von der Realität.
Daher ist dies eine gelungene Liebesgeschichte die von allem etwas beinhaltet. Ich gebe dem Buch sehr gute 4/5 Sterne. Den einen Punkt Abzug bekommt das Buch wegen des Covers, welches leider nicht so aus der Masse heraus sticht, um den Leser auf den ersten Blick für sich einzunehmen.

Daher ist dies eine gelungene Liebesgeschichte die von allem etwas beinhaltet. Ich gebe dem Buch sehr gute 4/5 Sterne. Den einen Punkt Abzug bekommt das Buch wegen des Covers, welches leider nicht so aus der Masse heraus sticht, um den Leser auf den ersten Blick für sich einzunehmen.

This is a 2015 must read!
Life hasn't been easy for Jeanie.. Growing up at an early age is hard.
In an effort to save her current job, Jeanie finds herself being offered a new but odd job by the company CEO Camden, who wants her to pose as his fiancé.
If she can survive the arrangement without losing her mind or her heart, Jeanie will be able to resume life without any financial burdens.
Wow! I loved this book!!
I was sucked in within the first chapter and lapped up ever word from then on.
It was well written and engaging. Kudos on this one.

I had originally picked this up because I played the little story-line of it on the Chapters App and it was just so much better there. Maybe because I made my character be a bit of an asshole, but towards the end this just draggggged. Boosting it up an extra star because of how much fun I had with it original on Chapters, but otherwise it was a let down.

Unexpectedly this was ok!
When I read the blurb I did a little eye roll, cuz you know. If you don't know just read the blurb.
And yeah it was a bit cheesy, but it also was a little funny which I appreciate wholeheartedly.
Main characters got on my nerves a bit for being absolutely clueless, more than twice. But I understand the need for cluelessness in such books.
In any case not bad.

This book was pretty good. Had the 50 shades thing going for it without the whips and chains. I also can never turn down a book with a mom and her kid needing help and with the twist that came along with the kid was very good. Her whole boss thing kind of came out of left field but I'm glad something happened with that just wished that would have been put to rest sooner then it had

This was just missing everything. The plot was so subpar and ridiculous it made zero sense. Was just hard to get through especially with the narrator.

Penthouse Prince was a delightful read, it was full of romance, and chemistry between the characters that it had me hooked from the very beginning.
Jeanie Long has had rough life growing up, not only did her parents basically turned their backs on her, but she was also left to be a single mother. Now her work is all she has to take care of her daughter, Kaycee, but her manager is threatening her job after Jeanie caught him in a compromising situation with her co-worker. Not wanting to face her manager again after been treated unfairly, she decides to take action by going to the company owner, CEO Camden James, but she didn't realized that by going to see him her life was going to change forever.
Camden James has been called many names, but most recently the press has given the billionaire playboy the nickname, “The Penthouse Prince,” and he has certainly done a lot to gain the name. He is ruthless at what he does, and he is constantly surrounded by beautiful women. But lately, all the press that he is getting is ruining his reputation with the company, and has caused disappointment in his father. With his said “fiancee” cheating on him, he has no choice but to find someone that is willing to be his fake fiancee to get his father off his back and his shares of the company. What was supposed to be fake, turned out to be so much more for Jeanie and Camden as their kisses started to feel all too real for the fake couple.
There were a lot of things that I enjoyed about this book, not only were the main characters felt relatable, but the whole story line was full of surprises that made it that much more irresistible to read. The synopsis alone hooked me in! It is evident from the very beginning that Jeanie is the caretaker of her little family, she hides secrets from her past that have made her overprotective over her daughter (which is all explained in the book, it's part of the twist!). But after her father died, she is not quiet sure of herself, but after meeting Camden that quickly changes. He makes her feel secured, and the two have an instant chemistry that grows throughout the book. Now, Camden is a romantic yet he can be very stubborn at times. As the two start to spend more time together, they share their pasts, and what they want in life. Overall, the story was very well-written, there were a couple of times when I just couldn't stand Camden and his decisions, yet the ending tied everything very well. The epilogue was also a nice touch to the story. I would definitely recommend the book to anyone that wants a quick romantic story full of surprises. :)

THE PENTHOUSE PRINCE: Fantasy in the Bedroom & the Boardroom

If you can totally ignore the way businesses with a board actually function in America then you might ignore the confusing mix of a guy who runs a business and a guy running for office. This CEO, Camden, spends his days at public events like a politician, not running a business. Bull Hockey.
The premise of this story is that the father – who holds enough shares to make a majority, but who doesn’t know crap about business, wants his son to marry a cheating bimbo to stabilize his life. Well! There’s a plan destined to work out. Seriously, a man with a terrible marital history wants his son to follow in THOSE footsteps. And Camden is the only person who has run the company well enough to make it profitable. WHY then does he need to show stability?
The female love interest has a “secret daughter” whose existence and parentage she holds close to her vest. Lots of Children’s Services laws getting glossed over here. And the author throws in some armed forces patriotism; A Hero father killed in battle.
And, because I didn’t see any of the story as realistic neither did I believe the relationship or sex. And the couple might mess around but “real nookie” doesn’t happen until halfway through the story.
Liking a story is extremely personal and can be based in the tiniest part of a story – like when the hero says something nice to the heroine. As such, these opinions present only what I feel about a story, and to some degree about my perceptions of the quality of the book.
If you like, or don’t mind, fantasy in the bedroom and the office then my caveats are immaterial. We can say THE PENTHOUSE PRINCE is light and fluffy and doesn’t require care in the writing, but, if you are paying money for it, you deserve a quality story. If, as is said, the difference between porn and erotic romance is the story. then this is sitting on the fence. If you can get past these things, okay. But, I think you deserve more.

Camden James is looking to takeover the shares of his company and he needs to shed his playboy ways in order to do so. Unfortunately marriage is something he has no interest in as his parents' marriage was a disaster. A fake fiance fits the bill and Jeanie Long was in the right place at the right time. Jeanie was only trying to save her job when she made her way up to her boss' office, she never intended on becoming his bride.
This story is one that has been told many times and initially it was an amazing story. Camden and his attitude were just right for his part in the story. Jeanie was fine as a heroine initially and I loved how she cared for her daughter. That story line was a little odd and when her mom found the way into the story it just seemed like some unnecessary drama, similar to her boss showing up again. It seemed like it was included to create some drama but it just didn't flow well.
Once we got to the end of the book I was literally confused with what was going on. Were they staying together or weren't they. Jeanie really bothered me by the end of the book. She made some poor choices, and so did Camden, and I really didn't have any angst about whether or not they would end up together because I just didn't really care anymore. I was totally bummed because I had really been enjoying the book up until the wedding.

Let's be honest here. This book was amazing. This author has such a way with words that you won't be able to put this book down once you start. Its refreshing to see an author put such a unique twist on a billionaire love story.
Jeannie is a woman who knows that by talking to the head of the company might mean losing her job. That's okay with her. She's prepared for it. What she wasn't prepared for was meeting the head of the company and him proposing to her. That little snag threw her. But what does a girl do when the Penthouse Prince asks you to be his fake fiance? You say yes and hope that you are strong enough to guard your heart from falling.
Camden knows that love isn't real. He's seen it first hand. So when he meets Jeanie and proposes to her he knows that this is just a business arrangement. Not anything else. Love just doesn't exist.
I loved that this book didn't just show the struggle of Jeannie but with both POV's we got to see Camden's struggles. This made it so much easier to become invested with the characters and to feel the connection that they had for eachother. This author is truly a talented storyteller and I'm looking forward to read more of her works in the future.

I LOVED THIS STORY! It was such a quick read form me because it was FUN to read Camden and Jeanie! Camden is known as the Penthouse Prince ... he keeps women at arms length because he doesn't believe in relationships. His only point of reference is his parent's disaster of a marriage. But daddy won't give him the Company until he is satisfied that Camden is married and happy. That's gonna be a problem since his current fiancée is off cheating on him! Cue ... single mom with a really cute little girl, Jeanie! OK, so Jeanie works for Camden, and she has a bit of a problem with her direct boss (she caught him doing things that aren't so good lol) so she has no choice but to go to Camden to report it. As you can guess, this is the exact time that Camden gets the ridiculous idea in his head to 'hire' Jeanie to be his fake fiancée and wife, so he can fool his father and gain control of the Company. What could POSSIBLY go wrong, right?! HA!
This story was so full of laughter and tenderness and wit and chemistry and most of all, love! :)
Pick this story up, you won't regret it!

Eh, I've definitely read better.
To be clear, I didn't hate it. I finished it because I was curious to see how it all came together. There were interesting subplots but on the whole, it didn't grab me and pull me in. Both Camden and Jeanie have some skewed ideas on what love is and that grated on my nerves.
It just...fell kind of flat for me. It was interesting - and short - enough to keep me going, but I didn't engage in the story. I didn't feel for the characters. And self-awareness was a long time coming for both of the main characters.
I don't know that I'd recommend this to anyone.

There a lot of flaws in the plot that you don’t become fully invested in the book.
It’s unclear how old the main character Jeanie is. At one point the author says she in her late 20’s but then she a college dropout who bring up her 5-year sister. That would make her in her early 20’s.
And does that mean the main lead Camden is a lot older than her?
Also, if Jeanie was brought up by the mom, why did she take her sister away? There was no mention of child abuse just that the mom cheated on her husband. That didn’t really warrant her dropping out of college to become her sister mom.
Even Camden relationship with his father didn’t make much sense. If Camden had stepped in to save the business, why did his father have a majority of shares? Also, if the father had endless affairs, why was he pushing to get his son married off?
To add the endless flaws in the plot, the book is really slow and boring.

Jeanie was having trouble with her boss, so she went straight to the top. To the CEO of the company, Camden, the playboy Penthouse Prince. There, she was in the right place at the right time to be caught up in a sham engagement that Camden suddenly needed. Camden hires Jeanie to be his fiance until he can gain the shares he needs from his father.
But Jeanie has secrets she doesn't want Camden to learn. And what happens if her heart becomes involved?
There were a few premises that I didn't buy into, including Jeanie going to the CEO of the company instead of HR about her boss. But I enjoyed the book enough to overlook those things. It was a fun, yet poignant, read.

I loved the banter between these two characters as they constantly had each other on their toes, however the whole warm to cold on their feelings did get a trifle annoying.
On the whole Camden was a lovable character, he just had an issue to overcome, but Jeanie inadvertently helps him, especially when she leaves him.
Both have cold members of the family who want something from them, but they both stand tall.
A sweet and fast read that you can't put down until the book is finished.
