Unbreak Him

Rate this book
Is there any way to unbreak someone?

Kyle Rance would agree that he’d made some bad decisions in his life, walking paths he wasn’t proud he walked and suffering painful losses due to his actions. He paid the price for his mistakes, and he worked hard to try to redeem himself. When he got the opportunity for a fresh start, he decided to make the most of it because it might be his last one.

Through a twist of fate, Kyle came into possession of damning material about one of the partners at the marketing firm where he was given a job in the mailroom, thanks to a state program for ex-cons like him. As Kyle learned, if the contents of the USB drive were to get out, one of the partners could be ruined.

Kyle approached Grant Cummings with the damning evidence in an attempt to help save the man’s reputation, but what Kyle found upon meeting the aloof marketing wizard was a man who had given up on nearly everything. With the help of a fabulous friend who worked the drag stage as an emcee, Kyle began the strange journey into a world where he never imagined himself… Mistresses… Masters… slaves and submissives… Oh, my!

Helping Grant Cummings return to the land of the living seemed like a worthy endeavor in the beginning, but eventually, Kyle had to ask himself if he was doing it for Grant, or was Kyle doing it for himself? As their futures became intertwined, Kyle had to wonder if he was up for the challenge of guiding someone back from the abyss, and if so, who would Grant be on the other side? For that matter, who would Kyle be as well?

Please Note: This M/M romantic novel contains material which may be offensive to some readers. It includes graphic language, mentions of self-harm, adult situations involving BDSM relationships, and descriptions of sexual activity between two, consenting adult males. This fictional story is intended for adults over 18 and is approximately 60,000 words in length. Unbreak Him is a standalone H-E-A and doesn’t end in a cliffhanger. I hope you enjoy it.

I grew up in the rural Midwest before moving to the East Coast with a dashing young man who swept me off my feet, and we've now settled in the desert of Nevada. I write M/M contemporary romance, subgenres: sweet low angst, age-gap, cowboys, mysteries, and military/mercenary to name a few. I am a firm believer in "Love is Love" regardless of how it presents itself, and I'm a staunch ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I have a loving, supportive family, and I feel blessed by the universe and thankful every day for all I have been given. I’m old enough to know how to have fun, but too old to care what others think about my definition of a good time. In my heart and soul, I believe I hit the cosmic jackpot. Cheers!

4.5 stars Grant and Kyle

Kyle got his freedom back after five years and has a job as a copy-man.
When a stick with incriminating photos of his boss gets into his hands he knows he has to speak with the man himself.
When Kyle enters Grant’s office he finds the man in a devastating state. Somewhere in the back of his head, he understands this man is submissive and in a horrible state of mind.
Kyle as Grant’s new PA wants to find help for him. And help he gets, the best.
In a short time, Kyle finds himself in a world of BDSM, Masters, Mistresses, Doms, subs.
There are some people who he has to cut out of Grant’s life and to be the best support he has to work on his qualities to be the best partner for Grant.

I loved and enjoyed this story very!
The work they shared and the beautiful, colorful personalities in their lives gave such a delightful addition to this story.
It was awesomely written and intriguing af. All well developed,
I found Kyle and Grant their characters well exposed.
This author has a very entertaining way of writing. Quite to the point, not too many different side stories, I love when it feels like a bubble where it’s ALL about the main characters and not with a lot of distractions. For me, there could be just some tiny bit more romance, because when it got romantic it was just wonderfully done.

Overall a very welcome new addition to my shelf.

This was glacial slow, and TBH, nothing really interesting has happened so far. Certainly nothing that has me wondering how this ends. YMMV.

Let me start by saying I love a good BDSM story especially when it's an M/M Romance. Unbreak Him was a second-chance, BDSM romance that had two characters that had their fair share of struggles. Kyle and Grant came together not knowing anything about each other, but soon came to realize that they can do and be many things for one another.

When Kyle gets a job at Grant's firm, he learns fast that Grant has been through a lot, but he doesn't know to the extent. Grant has had Dom's that were terrible to him, so when Kyle comes into his life and wants to help him understand who he truly is, he has difficulty finding the balance he has been craving. Kyle calls in reinforcements and after weeks of working with a dominatrix, Grant understands that the love Kyle and others around him provide is what he needs to heal.

The chemistry and love Kyle and Grant have with one another is sweet. This is one of the first books I've read from this author and it won't be my last. The emotions the author brought out in each character showed the extent of what good writing can be. The book grabbed my attention and held on from beginning to end. I would recommend this book to all readers that are interested in M/M BDSM.

I received this book as an advanced copy from the author.

I enjoyed this book. Two broken men that felt like they shouldn't be loved. Kyle is given a second chance after making a mistake when he was young. Grant has been used and abused by his ex and Dom and has been having a hard time moving on. Kyle is so sweet and understanding but doesn't know anything about the world of BDMS. He decides to help Grant and with the help of another Dom and her lover along with his neighbour they all are able to help Grant. The book is darker than what I normally read but I liked it. The book is very emotional, with some very intense moments, romantic, and funny moments with Kyle and his neighbour, and their sexy times are hot. I loved the fact that Kyle was given a choice of being with Grant or letting him. The book had my attention from start to finish and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down.

I was completely enthralled with this story and the take on BDSM. It explored an unhealthy relationship but didn't demonize BDSM completely. I loved how Kyle worked with Grant to help him through his issues and how they were together. This was my first book by this author, but it won't be my last.

I quite enjoyed this MM romance novella. I enjoyed the characters and the different variety of characters and their roles in this story.
I loved the unexpected role reversal that exists between Kyle and Grant. Both these characters have struggles they are trying to overcome, I appreciate the challenging road they travel together.
I really loved their sex scenes. I could have used more, you can never have enough.

Kyle is such sweet heart that deserved a second chance, the whole ex-con reformed and finding love in the most unexpected way. Kyle hadn't even been out of the correction system a day and having to deal with normalcy of his parent's claim. TBD just which is the fly/spider,  Kyle was wondering just how over he head this new job and the areas it was heading was about to be. When Kyle takes the first step in helping only to be with the arrogance of Mr. Grant Cummings, only to have put him in his place was hilarious after that little snide remark. Who new back-talking would lead to a promotion. It seems Grant needed more then just a helping hand to rebuild his courage.  If both men are willing travel a path, they just may find was has been missing. After all it seems that he was dealing with the submissive side Grant was he's the delicious sheep, while Kyle is the wolf salivating at the mouth.

Unbreak Him is an intriguing BDSM story about Kyle, an ex-con and Grant, one of the partners in the marketing firm where Kyle works, with so many wonderful side characters. When trying to sabotage Grant, they never expected Kyle to be so kind and understanding. If it had been someone else who had been given the incriminating information another outcome may have happened. But Kyle being Kyle ended up going to Grant with the info he had and into the start of a professional, comforting, loving, if not a bit confusing, relationship with Grant that was so good for both of them. Meeting Kyle was probably one of the best things that could've happened to Grant. I just love Kyle and Grant together. I love how protective Kyle is of Grant and how he really just wants to understand him and have Grant realize he is worthy of love and not just pain. I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.

Unbreak Him is another excellent book from this author, and it was hard to put down once I’d started reading. I loved the two MCs, and watching their journey to escape from their past was terrific. Kyle is redeeming himself from past mistakes and is the perfect man to help heal Grant, who's dealing with a past that's breaking him.
Together they work perfectly, and I liked that their story unfolded slowly and felt real, with Grant's recovery progressing at a pace that was right for him. The MCs are both strong characters, and I loved watching Grant become that again, helped by Kyle, the fabulous Felicity, her boys, and Kyle’s friends.
This book is a great slow-burn read that had lots of feels, a little angst and intrigue, some steam and a wonderful ending.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, and this is my honest and voluntary opinion.

A fascinating premise about a man who was left to believe that BDSM was what he needed. But thanks to another man who’s looking to leave his own demons behind, and who learns his secrets, makes it his mission to help the man break free from his abusive past.

Along with the help of those within the community Kyle puts his heart into helping Grant see his own beauty and self-worth, unbreaking him from his past and hurt. Along the way, they both get a second chance to flourish in life and find something incredible, love. Deep, healing love.

These two are really lovely, and watching Grant come into his own was especially wonderful.

I appreciate that this shows how BDSM can be misused and in fact, isn’t for everyone, while still capturing how beautiful and right it can be for others.

Beautiful

I had this book a long time before I actually read it. I wasn't sure if the subject was something I wanted to read. The world of Doms and Subs was an unknown to me. I still don't understand it, but this book is much more than that. This beautiful book is about a tortured soul and a lost soul and how they save each other.

At times I was amazed at how cruel people can be. Grant had been tortured and abused all his life. As the only thing he knew he felt he needed and deserved what ever treatment he received. It took Kyle's lost soul to redeem him and thereby redeeming himself.

Don't miss out on this treat and testament to love.

received a free ARC copy to review for the upcoming re-release (thank you, Sam!)

i loved the premise and was very pleased to find out the book is written in 3rd person. the beginning was promising but i found out very soon that i couldn't connect to the characters. while i like when the story flows and isn't dragged out, i felt like things were moving too fast. the building relationship between Grant and Kyle felt almost contrived and Grant's personality changes were giving me whiplash. the writing style was too detached for my tastes which is probably the whole reason why their relationship wasn't believable to me.

points for quite an original premise!

I found the plot very interesting, I’ve loved the idea of reluctant Dom Kyle finding himself caring for his abused and shaken boss Grant. Kyle is definitely in over his head when he realizes how broken his boss is after being dismissed by his former Dom. He initially is concerned with keeping his job but quickly starts to have feelings for Grant. Excellent side characters, I especially like Felicity an experienced Domme who steps in to help them both- this was a creative idea and super interesting. It is quite a lovely story and I loved the well deserved happy ending for both of these wonderful MCs.

A very stark look into the bad side of BDSM and Dom and Subs, when Dom's go too far and become too cruel. Grant, a sub, has been driven to despair and is lost and floundering. Of all people an ex-con just may be the one to save him, maybe. There was just one big thing missing, something I was hoping to read near the end, but it wasn't there. I so wanted to read of Kyle's parents discovering that the son they kicked out and turned their backs on had become a successful and wealthy businessman. That would've been so sweet to read. A very tough story to read but an amazing piece of work.

A very interesting and enjoyable read. The two MC’s were very sweet and really pulled on your heartstrings. This was a first for me as far as going into such depth of the bad side of BDSM which was very eye opening and intriguing. I felt like Kyle and Grant were truly perfect for each other and it was so enjoyable to watch them both help each other and grow. The secondary characters were fantastic also! I bought this book a while ago and somehow missed reading it so I’m giving my honest opinion for this complimentary review copy

Emotionally Sweet And Revealing

The emotional aspects of this book is what truly makes it also revealing to the point that it speaks the truth on so many different levels. Especially with BDSM and the stigma so many people put on it. Both in and out of the lifestyle. It was incredibly sweet to see the love grow between the main characters along with the many moments of laughter through out. Definitely a must read for those that love character growth along with emotions both good and bad.

Unbreak Him was a great read! It’s a slow burn, with dark BDSM. Kyle had made mistakes in his past that he ended paying for dearly. When he gets a opportunity to better himself he takes it. When he finds his boss Grant shaken and a little broken, his eyes are opened to the kink community. He steps up and becomes Grant’s Dom. Overall, this was a great read, well written with nice pacing although the story felt a little rushed. Definitely recommend.

This book was very disappointing for me. I loved the synopsis of the book and was so excited to read it but it didn't live up to it. This is definitely a SLOW burn as they finally have sex 90% into the story. He was so messed up but with hardly any work, written on page, he was perfectly fine again. I'm giving 2 stars because I loved Grant and it tore me up how broken he was.

Although I have some feelings about BDSM and D/s stories, Kraemer handles this story so well that I am very appreciative.
The story revolves around a sub/slave who was left alone without any help with integrating back into life and an ex-blue-collar con.
They find themselves thrust together because of coworkers trying to get their jobs.
it works itself through into love, with a grace and sensitivity that resonated very well.

This was a cute book between an ex con and an executive. Kyle made one mistake in his young life and paid his dues. Grant is an executive who was in a bad bdsm relationship not realizing he was being abused mentally and physically.

When Kyle and grant start working together Kyle realizes his boss is an emotional mess and sets out to help him heal. It was a feel good book.

A highly entertaining, engaging and rioting story about abuse, redemption, second chances and love in all its forms.
With believable and well-rounded characters, a storyline worth told and explored this heartfelt and soul-bearing book is well worth the read.

This was a fantastic read! The title says it all in my humble opinion. The book shows what can happen when a relationship goes belly up without any warning. I love that this book shows what time patience and live can achieve!

This story used BDSM, but had too many people breaking the basic rules. The hurt/comfort didn't have the emotional impact I was hoping for, either. Plus, there where some proofreading errors in the edition I read.
