When life could no longer keep Lauren and Colt apart, their two worlds became one. Every second of every moment, they spent together. Their love bloomed into something neither of them imagined—a bond so strong Lauren and Colt believed nothing would ever stand in their way.

Colt & Lauren How everyone is connected to the Wanted Series. Book 1 Wanted – Ellie & Gunner gave us Colt Book 4 Cherished – Scott & Jessie gave us Lauren
Colt and Lauren have been circling each other for years.
Lauren has always had a crush on Colt, and she really wanted to make him see it and boy oh boy does she.
But then when her daddy tells her she needs a man to run the ranch, and says Colt is the man. She is scared and pauses and starts to push Colt away.
She has always wanted to be a part of the Ranch but on her own merit and so she wants and needs to prove it to her dad.
But feeling can’t be tampered down and she and Colt find their way to each other.
I loved, loved the scene with Colt and Scott and how Colt made Scott see things he wasn’t willing to. I wanted to smooch Colt for that. He is what is best for Lauren but what I loved right then was that he was willing to do anything it took for him to be good enough for Lauren.. Oh all the feels.
They really do go through some ups and down but it wasn’t drama to be drama it fit so well with this book. I loved it.
And again the narration I am telling you, if you haven’t listened to these audiobooks you need to Erin and Stephen just do a phenomenal job with each of these characters and giving them their own voice. It’s pretty fantastic.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
"You will forever be mine Lauren Reynolds. No one or nothing will ever come between the love we share."
First things first, I absolutely adore Kelly Elliot. I met her at an author signing in New York City last summer and she is just as sweet as you think she may be. She listened to me fangirl over her and over Gunner Mathews and then was kind enough to hook me up with a t-shirt. So yes, I love her.
Next, I so want my life to be a Kelly Elliot novel. Holding You is the third book in the Love Wanted in Texas series. In case you're wondering the children of the Wanted series are all grown up and we're getting to hear their stories.
Of course I just have to say...oh my glitter! Ellie and Gunner definitely raised their boy right. Colt Mathews is every bit as swoon worthy as his ultra romantic daddy. Literally every word out of his mouth is poetry. The way he loves Lauren Reynolds is the stuff dreams are made of.
If you haven't read the first two books in this series, DO IT! I was on a Kelly Elliot binge this weekend and it was fabulous. Plus, it also helps to read the books to get the background story straight in your brain.
"I'm yours forever, Lauren. No matter what, I'll never leave your side."
Both Colt and Lauren are students at Texas A&M. Lauren's goal in life is to run her father's horse breeding business. The thing is Lauren feels like her dad doesn't think she can run the business. It seems like he may bring on Colt to work for him and Lauren takes that as a sign of Colt moving in on her territory. Obviously, this is a problem for Lauren and it causes her to push Colt away.
You already have the sense that Colt has strong feelings for Lauren. But for the past two books, all they've done is fight or avoid each other. Guess what? Not too long ago Lauren on a tipsy night was asking Colt to make love to her. I know right? Anyway, you get it. They want each other in a big way.
One of my favorite things about Kelly Elliot is the forever love theme in her series. And it's not just love that starts in high school or college. It's love that has been there since childhood. Even when they didn't really know it, they felt it. When Lauren remembers Colt gave her a teddy bear that she loved as a child and still loves, you're just like awwwwwww.
The night of Libby and Luke's wedding, Lauren and Colt stop pushing each other away and share an unbelievably romantic kiss while their dancing. After that kiss, it's game on and they know they have to be together.
The two of them make up a story about having to go back to A&M for some sort of project (wink, wink). Colt takes Lauren to a hotel and makes their first time an experience she'll never forget. Once again, daddy done taught Colt well because he swoons his girl like nobody's business. Together their passion is off the charts (their stamina is amazing too). Whether he's loving Lauren tenderly or going a little wild cowboy on her Colt is just perfection.
Lauren Reynolds loves her cowboy, whispering sweetly in her ear or telling her all the naughty things he'd like to do to her. Their story is filled with many sweet and some oh so naughty encounters. Oh my glitter! This book!
How could you not adore Colt Mathews? He's a mini me of his dad. And I do love me some Gunner Mathews. I love watching the parents and children together in this new series. One of my favorite things is that all of the Wanted offspring see how completely in love their parents are after twenty years.
Taking a step closer, I kissed her neck as she let out a whimper. Between each kiss, I spoke. "Oh, Lauren." Kissing along her neck, I moved down. "My dreams could never have prepared me for your perfection."
Of course everything isn't perfect in Mason. There are some bumps along the way. But the way they get through them is pure Kelly Elliot, a lot of love and a good dose of humor.
I have to absolutely give five lip smacks to Holding You. The story is a beautiful tale of a true and forever love. One day I'll find my Gunner Mathews....swoon.
Oh My Glitter......I think if I had to read those 3 words one more time in the book, I was going to commit a homicide......I eventually had to train my brain and eyes to skip over those dreaded 3 words because it became too much.
I love Kelly Elliot and I enjoyed this 3rd book in the Love Wanted in Texas series....Colt and Lauren were great and I'm glad they finally got their HEA....even though I still don't get why these characters in all her books end up dropping out of college and getting married in their very early 20"s.....STAY in college people!!!
On a positive side, the next time I read a book by this author, I am going to play a little drinking game.....every time one of her characters has to "wipe the one tear off their cheek." I am going to have a shot.....I guarantee I will be drunk off my ass, before the end of the book....and hell that's just the male characters....lol
Kelly Elliott has written some of the most amazing books. But her wanted and A love wanted in Texas are my favorite's. Colt and Lauren's story was the best. ** No spoilers** This is going to be a hard review to write cause there is so much to say. BUT I received an Arc for an honest review. I will say this. This was the best HEA in this series

~ 5 "Oh My Glitter" Stars ~
Talk about a sweet and romantic love story….That is what Colt and Lauren's story is.
Holding You is the third book in Kelly Elliott's Love Wanted in Texas Series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but to get the full feeling of all the characters, you should read this series in order. All the past characters and even the future characters play such huge parts in each of these books.
As with all Kelly's books, she gave us a story full of love, romance, swoon worthy moments, laughs, and even some heartache. But as always she ends the book on a happy note and you can't help but smile. I have to be honest….this book took me by surprise. It felt a little different from her other books, in that there really wasn't a whole lot of drama in this story. Usually Kelly adds some major drama and characters that we hate to her stories, but she didn't with this one. The only reason I can think of was because Lauren and Colt had a lot of their drama is Saving You (Book 2). This book was really their HEA. I thought it was great that we got to see them so happy together and able to be a stable couple. I will say that, while I was reading this story, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but I am happy to say that nothing happened. Yes Colt and Lauren had some bumps along the way, but they got through them together :)
This book was a fairly quick read. Once I started the book I had a hard time putting it down. I love Kelly's writing because she creates such lovable and relatable characters. You can't help but get sucked into their stories and feel like you are a part of their lives. I also love that she brings in all the other characters, from this series and her Wanted Series. Even with all the other characters in this story, this book was very much Colt and Lauren's story. She really didn't put any other sub plots in this book. Yes we do get the epilogue that sets up the next book and couple in this one, (which I am so EXCITED to read) but I was glad the focus stayed on Colt and Lauren.
So if you are a fan of Kelly Elliott's and her Wanted Series or are just someone looking for that sweet, fun, fairytale romance story, then you will want to read this book!!! And as in the Wanted series…..Kelly Elliott knows how to create a sweet talking, panty melting Cowboy for a hero in the story. If you loved Gunner in Wanted, then you are going to LOVE Colt in Holding You….it truly is like father like son ;) There are also some scenes that will for sure melt your panties and leave you breathless ;)
A passionate, sweet romance is how I would define all Kelly Elliot's stories and Holding You was no different. It's amazing to think how all started with Ellie and Gunner and now we're reading their kids love story.
Holding You is Lauren and Colt's story. Lauren's been pushing Colt away despite her feelings for Ellie and Gunner's son, because she's afraid her father will choose him over her to run his business. All because her father thinks she's not responsible enough or not capable of doing what men can do, or at least that's what she thinks. Pushing Colt away was not easier, but it becomes impossible when their love for each other and their attraction has come to a point where denying it would be betraying your heart.
However, all the stories share the same pattern: sweet, romantic story of two people who have know each other their whole lives, grown together and been in the same group of friends thanks to their families. They get finally together and romance hits its climax point and something bad happens to one of the characters. Then they get better, realize they cannot live without one another, get married and have their happily ever after. If it was any other author and didn't know what I was getting myself into I might abhorred the stories. But they have something that even though you know they are predictable you cannot stop reading them. I have to admit that the Wanted series were more catching in the sense that you knew there would be a happy ending (because... come on!), but the rest of the plot was unexpected. But in Love Wanted in Texas, I miss that mystery in not knowing what's going to happen between the two characters.
One thing that I like about every single story that Kelly Elliott writes is that the title always comes with a good reason - not revealing it until the very end. It's not just a dreamy title promising some swoon romance, it goes a bit beyond that and it always bring a smile to my face when I found it. That, and the level of swoon that Kelly Elliott pours in all her stories - like you keep sighing at every single thing the characters say until the very last page.
I also want to mention that no matter what you read in books, guys, do whatever you want to do and it feels right. You can be anything you want in life and love, family and your professional career/college can all go together side by side.
As I said, this story is a good one, everything you expect from a book written by Kelly Elliott. If you want a romantic read where everything comes together perfectly and you are not bothered by knowing how all it will end, this is definitely your book.
Despite all this, I have to say that I miss those first stories that still hooked me after having read them a bazillion times. I want the Love Wanted in Texas series to make me want to re-read them again and again like the Wanted series still do.
HOLDING YOU is the story of Lauren and Colt. These two had been in love with each (without the other one really knowing) for a while, but stubbornness and misunderstandings have stood in their way. But one dance at their best friend's wedding changes everything for these two.
I haven't read the other books in this series, but it was pretty easy to pick up the dynamic between Colt and Lauren. They loved each, yet let things they'd made up in their own minds deter them from pursuing what they really wanted. And while I may not have believed one kiss on the dance floor was going to make everyone forget the fights and other nonsense, I was glad to see them get out of their own way. Would I have immediately jumped into bed with Colt instead of talking things through? Probably not. But it worked for this couple and got them to the point they needed to be.
This was a quick read that helped occupying a couple of hours. Colt and Lauren are young and they could get on my nerves, but in the end Kelly Elliott gave us a couple we could get behind. This book was reviewed by a member of the review staff at Cocktails and Books. The name of the reviewer can be found under the post categories.
Oh my glitter! I usually love Kelly Elliott's books, but I almost feel like this series is nothing but repetitive. The couples push each other away for one reason or another, then realize how much they love each other. The scenes with the girls being grossed out talking about sex because of their brothers, the seeing a relative when someone is on their death bed, the I love you's over and over again, and the needing to bleach their ears are too played out. I hope Grace's story isn't a continuation of those lines. Of course, I have too much invested in this series, so I will continue reading them until I know how everyone's stories end.
The best thing about Kelly Elliott? She can make me cry with a drop of a dime. Her angsty or sad scenes are always so well written.
But sigh....this series is doing exactly what all her series does - boy girl fall in love, boy girl fight love, tragedy strikes, boy girl drop out of college and live happily ever after. The only plus is that at least the tragedy was not car accidents like all of their parents went through...
I loved the first two books in this series. This one fell flat. Even though they were older, it was very childish. I was really looking forward to Colt's story. But Lauren and her Oh My Glitter and her childish ways really ruined this for me. :(
Absolute loved this book. I mean who wouldn't love a book with a Hot, sexy cowboy! You will easily fall in love with all the characters and be wanting more. This book I went through the emotions from laughing out loud to crying like a baby.
Lauren has known Colt all of his life..From a far both has had a crush on the other but never acted on it. Lauren is afraid Colt will take away her right as being the owner of her dad's horse ranch. Colts afraid to make a move. Will these two give in or walk away never knowing?
This is the first book I have read from Kelly but will definitely not the last. She has a unique way with words and drawing you in to feel part of this family.
Super SWOON Alert!!!! Holding You is book 3 in the Love Wanted in Texas Series and revolves around Colt (Gunner & Ellie's son) and Lauren (Scott & Jessie's daughter). Boy of boy oh boy is Colt like his father. Heck, he might even be better than Gunner. OMG did I just say that in writing?!?!?!?! Colt and Lauren have been in love with each other since High School. However circumstances and hard headedness (Lauren) kept them apart. Nonetheless Colt knew Lauren was the one and he just kept that truth in his heart and just waited for her to realize. You also get glimpses of Grace's story which should be next and I am very looking forward to the rest of this series. Love this gang!!!!!! 4.5Stars #OneClick #ReadOn
Wow oh wow!!!! I love this series. Colt who is as bigger Swoon as Gunner, if not much more than Gunner has loved Lauren since forever, but Lauren constantly denied her love for Colt. Lauren who let her own fears and worries get in the way for her love for Colt. This is a beautiful story of discovery and learning. Wow Grace, I want her as a best friend. We get a glimpse of and her heart break :-( Colt and Laurens story is another fantastic page turner. I loved it !
Where do i start, love love Kellys books. They never let me down. This book had me laughing and crying. Thats damn hard to explain at work when one of the guys come to the window to ask me somethink and take one look and keep going.
Colt and Laurens start was not easy but there ending was beautiful.
Seriously where can i find a guy who loves with their whole soul.
At one moment Grace said: "That is so romantic, it almost makes me want to throw up"... Yeah! that's what I felt with this book, I'm a big fan of Kelly's books, but this made me roll my eyes so much that I was like "Really? I need a story here, not this"... Sorry but I'm disappointed, still waiting for Grace's story, I'm at least hopeful with that one
Oh My Glitter!!!! Colt is definitely Gunner's son. Not much angst in this one, which was a nice change of pace. Just a nice, sweet, adorable love story. Well done Kelly. Looking forward to Grace and Noah's story.
I loved Colt and Lauren's journey to forever and I appreciated the drama free love story. No real issues between the two of them once Lauren pulled her head out of her @ss. This was another great love story with a hot Texan that made me swoon.
Love all these books so far but this one was just boring. nothing happened. no drama apart from 5 pages of her being ill. I loved these two JUST disappointed that the story let them down
OK first of all Colt is an exact copy of his dad, swoon
Next, if I'd been Lauren and my dad told me what her dad told her, I would have pushed Colt as far from me as possible too. But I also would have worked my butt off at the farm to prove I could do what he thought I could not. And it was sad that it had to be Colt to talk to Scott and set him straight.
Which takes me to the double standards set for the boys and girls of this group (this is a rant for all the books in this series, not just this one). The girls are coddled and protected and treated like they are precious but incapable of working and they all seem to be ok with that except when the over protection becomes too much. The boys are allowed free rein but have to do all the farm work. Sex before marriage for the girls is unthinkable, for the parents, while they guys are just told to "wrap their sticks". Now the guys have been very respectful when it come to sex, it was nice that both Will and Colt saved themselves. But part of me would really like to see one of these girls be out with the boys working just as hard on the ranch as they are b/c she too wants to continue her parent's legacy.
I do love how all of the kids have each other's backs and are a team against outsiders who threaten them but also against the parents, giving each other alibis when the parents ask questions and warnings when the parents are on to them.
To all the people who have complained about the excessive use of Oh My Glitter, yeah it was used a lot and maybe she could have had a second phrase to exchange it so it was not that repetitive but think about how over used Oh My God is. If God had been exchanged for Glitter would it be different for you?
The girls night with the cucumbers was hilarious and it was fun to see how each girl reacted to the situation. Also funny was the girls trip to Colorado and them getting the boy's numbers
Roger vs Bruce: for continuity, yeah it is annoying when the Author changes names or uses the same name twice for different people. I see this happen at least once in every one of her books, and it is a huge flaw for me. Continuity is a big deal for me and when something like that happens, it takes me out of the story a bit.
Towards the end I was a little shocked at how ok Scott and Jessie were about Colt and Lauren going to Vegas, considering she is their only child.
Ultimately I enjoyed this book, flaws and all, I really love her characters
I actually loved Lauren and Colt's story but as much as I enjoyed reading their, I was left wondering why Azurdee and Lark were written out of this series. I remember reading the epilogue in their story where they have a daughter, Akayla. Jessie & Azurdee as well as Lark & Scott were bestfriends and the Journey series pretty much had a crossover with Wanted series where charcaters were well on their way being acquianted with each other. I kinda hoped to have read about Lark/Azurdee & Tristan/Ryn sticking around but reading this seemed like they all drifted apart somehow over the years. I mean I was left wondering why Lauren never mentioned Akayla at all nor Scott & Jessie acknowleding Lark & Azurdee. I was kinda looking forward to all the kids in the 2 series being childhood friends and everything. So yeah.. That's all.
I have read the majority of Kelly Elliott's books and have enjoyed them all. I love a book that has just a little bit of angst, some heat, and of course a happy ending. I never got bored reading Holding You I enjoyed every bit until the end. My only dislike was the phrase " Oh my glitter" it was so repetitive and made me crazy!!! I would definitely recommend this book.
YES, YES, YES!!! Another one to make my favorite list. Oh, how does she do it?? These men and their romantic swoon-worthy ways it's just too much and I just can't take it, but I so can. LOL!! I love, love, love Colt's and Laura's story and got the best happy ever after.
Colt and Gunner will forever be my all-time fav book boyfriends!!!
With her future in her father's horse business questionable, Lauren sees Colt as the enemy. But with a spark and a whole lot of respect and admiration the two become each others partner in more than just business. Sweet, salty and an enjoyable read that you will consume in one shot. Loved these characters!!
4 stars! Aside from the gratuitous sex I really enjoyed this book, the series seems to get better as it goes along. There was also almost no drama and for some reason I didn’t mind it.
Another perfect story! Childhood friends to lovers story packed with so many with so many emotions . Plus a glimpse back to the first generation. Couldn't ask for anything than <3
