In the first book, Seaside Cowboy's Second Chance, Dallas has loved Skylar for years, but fifteen years ago she broke his heart when she left with no explanation. Now, Skylar is back to help her grandmother plan her wedding. Skylar wishes she could be planning her wedding to Dallas, but how could she ever get a second chance with him after all she's done? Both Dallas and Skylar have to relinquish the control of their lives to God and realize that only He can mend them. Once they realize their love for each other, will it be too late? This is soooo good, and has a few twists you won't see coming!!
In the second book, Seaside Cowboy's Best Friend, Kai has been in love with Marina for years. He never told her as he wanted her to spread her wings and fly, and he didn't want to risk losing his best friend. Now, she's home to run her mother's restaurant while her mother is a cruise. Kai was hoping Marina would see him as more than her best friend, thinks she's feeling the same things he is, but then she'll say something that puts him right back in the best friend zone. Once Marina realizes that what she really wants is NOT what she has, and that she really wants to be with Kai, is going to be too late for her to tell him how she feels? There are some really great scenes in this book with the parrot and the dog!!!
In the third book, Seaside Cowboy's Marriage of Convenience, Kennedy and Austin have known each other for years, and Austin had wanted to ask her out in high school, but couldn't get up the courage. At Miranda and Kai's wedding reception, Austin and Kennedy are seated next to each other. Kai knows that Austin has been crushing on Kennedy for years. When they dance at the wedding, Kennedy starts feelings things she's never felt before. So, when her uncle who raised her and was more of a father to her than her own father tells her his health isn't good, and that he'd like to see her married and be there to walk her down the aisle, she decides a marriage of convenience to Austin might be a good thing. The more they are in the marriage, they both fall for the other, but don't know how the other feels, and Kennedy keeps pushing Austin away. Her experience tells her that he's just going to leave her anyway, just like everyone else except her uncle. When her life is in jeopardy, Kennedy realizes just how much she does love Austin, and how much she doesn't want him to be like the others. When Austin realizes how much Kennedy cares for him, he realizes that he's loved her for awhile, and decides to tell her with a surprise that he hopes she'll like. Kennedy had to learn that everyone isn't like her parents, and that she's worthy of love.

When they meet at his charity gala, she feels out of her element, but does manage to get his attention, which is what she wants. She ends up saving his life that night, then leaves without telling him who she is. The next time they meet, she still doesn't reveal who she is, though she's drawn to him, too. The more time they spend together, both fall for the other, but Tex is afraid to get closer, for fear that whoever is after him will go after her. When these two finally figure out their hearts and get them on the same page, watch out!!

However, since she's been back in town, she fell for his brother, Austin, and now Austin is married to Kennedy. Saylor feels she always falls for the wrong guy, and now she's decided she's not going to fall for anyone again, and especially NOT her boss!! Darius needs help at the ranch, so he hires Saylor to be his assistant. He can work with her and not fall for her, especially since she had a crush on his brother. Until they're kidnapped when they go to a jewelry store so Saylor can get her sister's ring resized. Saylor is drawn to Darius, tells him things she's never told anyone, and for the first time, she's not told to be quiet, as Darius likes to hear the sound of her voice!! When they finally get free, Saylor is afraid of the feelings she has for Darius, because he's her boss, and she doesn't want to fall for her boss. The more time they spend together, the more Saylor realizes she's already in love with Darius, and it's nothing like she's felt for anyone before! When Saylor is kidnapped a second time, is it too late for her and Darius?? Love the way they finally get together, and that they both depend on God!!
In Code of Honor, Remi and Nieve meet when Remi shows up to keep an eye on Hannah as her deceased husband asked him to. He's afraid he'll fail her as he did his now deceased fiance. Nieve isn't looking for love, not since her ex-boyfriend used her for his punching bag. Now, Remi is getting under skin, and she really doesn't want to say goodbye to him. Will these two be able to put their pasts behind them and look forward to a shared future? LOVE how things turn out!!

I highly recommend Heart of a Cowboy to readers that enjoy clean and Christian romance with a side of mystery and suspense! Author Alexa Verde has an easy to read and enjoy writing style.
Seaside Cowboy's Second Chance has truly likable characters. I was definitely rooting for the romance between Skylar and Dallas to work out. Despite the hurt that Skylar had caused him, Dallas still treats her kindly and helps her. Skylar's grandmother and Dallas's mother might just meddle a little. The plot had some twists that completely caught me off guard. I enjoy author Alexa Verde's easy-to-read writing style and that she seamlessly weaves faith into her story.
Seaside Cowboy's Best Friend is a fantastic friends-to-more romance. I love the main characters, Kai and Marina. Author Alexa Verde develops them both very well. I especially enjoyed reading about their faith journeys and their families. And there's a puppy, Buttercup!
This wonderful romance also has mystery, suspense, and action. The plot moves at a good pace and has twists and turns. This second book in the Seaside Cowboys kept my interest level high--I started reading it and didn't stop until I got to the The End.
Seaside Cowboy's Marriage of Convenience has all the feels. My emotions went right along with the characters'. The guilt, the joy of letting go of that guilt, the freedom found through faith, falling in love, fear of losing that love....Austin and Kennedy are great main characters with layers of depth. They do get a wonderful HEA. I loved the mystery part of the story. I didn't even come close to guessing who the bad guys were, but it made perfect sense.
Rachel and Tex both had very rough childhoods and now guard their hearts carefully. Private investigator Rachel's assignment is to investigate Tex, whose first love betrayed him. How will he react when he learns the truth about Rachel's interest in him? Author Alexa Verde adds mystery and suspense to this romance, which allows the plot to have twists that I didn't see coming.
Seaside Cowboy's Assistant has the opposite attracts trope with sunny Saylor Helms and the very serious Darius Lawrence as the main characters. She comes to work for him which creates problems for a romance as she's been burned before in that situation, and he doesn't want her to feel pressured. There's suspense with a twist and a perfect HEA for this couple.
Author Alexa Verde's Code of Honor proved to be one of those "sit down and read it from start to finish" kind of books. There just wasn't a good place to quit until the end. I had to know what happened. Nieve Valle, loyal friend who survived an abusive relationship, will do anything to try to protect her bestie, Hannah Hughes. Remington Franco is on hand to fulfill a promise made to Hannah's late husband to protect his wife should anything happen to him. There's an instant attraction between Nieve, who avoids men because of her past relationship, and Remi, who once Hannah is safe, plans to return to his hunt to find the men who killed his fiancé several years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed Remi's flirting with Nieve. While there is a lot of action and suspense, there's also a great deal of humor provided by Nieve's inner monologue. The book has a twist that I never saw coming. The mystery of who is trying to kill Hannah is wrapped up, and there's an HEA for Nieve and Remi.

This is a wonderful series and I have totally enjoyed each book I have read. Having them all in one collection is great so once you start reading you can binge through the other books.
The combination of Cowboys and Beach really adds to this story. The bachelor brothers all have one thing in common, a horrible past with an abusive father. Each story not only deals with a romance for one of these brothers but also their memories of their father and the questions they have about his death.
Each book can be a stand alone story but there is overlap of characters and continuation of the stories from book to book. There's also a nice combination of second chance romances, reunions, friends-to-love, marriage of convenience, fairy-tale happy endings and opposites-attract love. All of the stories in this collection are sweet and clean.
I really love how this family was so close and that the brothers were super protective.

Great box set. The first five stories of the Lawrence family in the Seaside Cowboys series. Absolutely loved all these stories. Alliance the women are very different but all are very strong characters that have difficult backgrounds. I enjoyed rereading them again all in one place. All have an element of mystery and danger. Wonderful stories. If you enjoy them, know that there are five more in this series for your enjoyment. And the first book in The Honor and Danger series is a great addition.

I really liked strong, capable characters. These books are full of them. Really enjoyed the faith aspects of the stories, as well as the unexpected twists and developments. What i like best, apart from that, is how each story is unique. Each one different and interesting. I like binge reading a whole line of stories which follow a theme, or community, family etc. So glad bought box set 2 as well, to continue the enjoyment!

These are solid Christian romance stories with mystery and suspense at various intensities. The secondary tropes vary, and the plots are realistic, too.
Ms. Verde's characters are wonderfully nuanced, despite the shorter format not allowing for much character development.

This is such a great set! It's set in a gorgeous beach setting but everything is not as it seems. There is an underlying danger and suspense throughout the series that keeps pushing you to read just one more chapter.

Really Great Christian Series
I have really enjoyed this series and getting to know all the characters of Port Sunshine and the Lawrence family. Each story is full of mystery intrigue and suspense as well as romance. A wonderful set of books that I totally enjoyed.

This is a wonderful box set from an author who truly knows how to tell a story. The perfect blend of suspense and romance, each book is inspirational, uplifting and hard to put down. A great value and a must read for fans of heartfelt storytelling.

I enjoyed everyone of these stories. Also, all the special characters in each one. Amazing how different each one was and how enjoyable reading each was. Hours & hours of good reading. So enjoyed.

This is an amazing set. Great Christian romance with a touch of suspense. These books will keep you heart pumping. Great job by Alexa Verde.
