The Survivor Wants to Die at the End

Rate this book
Two strangers, each with their own complicated relationship to Death-Cast, help each other learn to live.

Paz Dario stays up every night, waiting for the Death-Cast call that would mean he doesn’t have to keep faking his way through this lonely life. After a devastating day, Paz decides he’s done waiting around for Death-Cast. If they say he’s not dying, he’ll just have to prove them wrong. But right before Paz can die, a boy saves his life.

Alano Rosa is heir to the Death-Cast empire that encourages everyone to live their best lives, but he doesn’t feel in control of his own existence thanks to his father. And with a violent organisation called the Death Guard threatening Alano, his End Day might be closer than he thinks. It’s time to live.

Fate brings Paz and Alano together. But they must survive the tragic trials ahead so no one dies at the end.

This book contains themes of suicidal ideation and self-harm that some readers may find difficult, including graphic depictions of self-harm and suicide.

This world will always hold a special place in my heart. I love the characters. The idea of death cast still intrigues me.

The relationship between Paz and Alano is lovely. And I love the appearance of all the old characters from previous books! Rufus and Matteo and Valentino and Orion

A CLIFFHANGER REALLY????

well if you thought you were having a bad day, every character from The survivor wants to die at the end is having a worse day than you.
707 pages of my heart beating faster and faster, my leg bouncing and my head hurting because this was pure chaos of a book 😭
Paz and Alano.
Oh man, being inside their brain was exhaustingly interesting and fascinating.
This was definitely a very heavy read to tackle, i would advise to search up all the trigger warnings before picking it up.
So many new plot points were finally introduced and more informations about DEATH-CAST which i am glad to see (although we still have a LONG way to go). However i felt that a lot of things were getting repetitive, and we were getting a lot of details that felt like fillers to me. In my opinion, the book could’ve been reduced to 500 pages max, but i still very much liked it and look forward for the next book because that cliffhanger was seriously diabolical.
