Oliver listens to way too many true crime podcasts.
So when he meets Roman—a man with custom suits, mysterious scars, and intense conversations about "territory" and "loyalty"—he knows the score. Roman is definitely in the Mob.
And honestly? Oliver is so ready to be a mob wife.
He’s baking lasagna. He’s establishing alibis. He’s pointedly not asking why Roman comes home at 3:00 AM with shredded clothes and dirt under his fingernails.
Roman is confused.
He’s just a wolf shifter trying to keep his pack in line. He has no idea why his sweet, librarian mate keeps asking if he needs help "bleaching the evidence" or "burying the bones" in the backyard. But he’s not complaining. Oliver’s ride-or-die energy is the hottest thing he’s ever seen.
But when Oliver tries to bring a baseball bat to a "turf war," Roman has to come clean. He’s not a made man; he’s a made wolf. And he’s about to show Oliver that the only thing more dangerous—and delicious—than a criminal kingpin is a primal Alpha in the bedroom.
It was a cute short little story. I normally don’t read stories this short because I always feel like there’s always more to tell. But I’m trying to be more adventurous so I decided to read it and I felt like it was a very pleasant story. I did feel a little short and I felt like it could be more to the story, but it was a nice happy ending. It was an enjoyable read.
Author uses AI for covers. Even if they claim it’s not ai, they use Virtual Voice for their audiobooks- so that should be enough to not read these books.
This book was clearly written by AI. A ton of chapters that were essentially paraphrased versions of each other. Crazy plot holes that only make sense if a computer wrote them. Boo!
DNF 50% firstly, it's boring. secondly, most likely written by AI.
what was that ridiculous scene where werewolf fucks the human-mc and mc is like "wow, I don't feel pain from penetration without preparation. how?" and werewolf is like "I prepared myself while you were in shower". ???? you are the one doing penetration, bro. and human accepts this explanation. he thinks " roman fingered himself, that's hot." maybe it's hot, but how will that help to loosen YOUR ass??? did he prepare human's ass through bluetooth connection or what?
and that isn't counting piss poor "connection" between characters. Roman tells one thing but human will create another story in his head and believe in it. human lives in his own delulu.
The idea is good but the fact the story goes from start to finish in ~70 pages, with about 10 heavy sex scenes….you get the idea. Plot is ultra simple is simple and runs from one sex scene to another. Very disappointed. I love LGBTQA+ stories and have no problem with sex or shifter romance. I just need more story than smut. This is 70% smut and 30% plot. If the ratios were reversed I would be ok.
I love the idea of the story but with something more fulfilling than sex scenes with some glue that makes it’s a wild shifter kind of story. it’s like trying to eat nothing but donuts for dinner. once in a while is fine but ALL the time donuts get really boring….and unhealthy.
There was nothing enjoyable about this book. Half was about Oliver being a moron who didn’t ask questions just assumed and the rest was sex. And that wasn’t even exciting. I think this would have had more potential as a full book with both POV and more character and story development.
This author writes books that is like a comfortable mug of tea on a cold night. Something to look forward to and enjoy. I can’t wait for the next additioN.
