He was the world’s richest man. Now, he’s a servant with zero talent. But in a world of immortals, hard work beats destiny—especially when you can see the Progress Bar.
Kael had it islands, armies, and a fortune that could buy nations. Then he died and woke up in the brutal Star River Sect. No longer a billionaire, he is now a lowly servant, stripped of dignity.
To make matters worse, he is a "Hollow"—a mortal born with no Spirit Root. In this dog-eat-dog cultivation world, that’s a death sentence. He is destined to be cannon fodder, or worse, a lab rat for the sect’s twisted alchemy experiments.
But fate gave him a parting gift.
[System Absolute Mastery]
[ Every repetition increases Proficiency. Ignore Talent. Ignore Bottlenecks.]
Swing a hammer? +1 XP.
Kill an enemy? Level Up.
While the "geniuses" meditate for years to gain a sliver of power, Kael just has to grind. With a hammer in his hand and a kill-count rising in the shadows, Kael is ready to shatter the hierarchy of the cultivation world.
They call him trash. He calls them XP.
Don't miss this progression fantasy combining the ruthlessness of Xianxia with the addictive mechanics of LitRPG. Perfect for fans of Cradle, Defiance of the Fall, and He Who Fights with Monsters.
Really different take on these types of books. . More reality than juvenile cultivation books. The main character was likable and the story very entertaining.
Don’t waste your time like I did. This is garbage. There are no redeeming qualities to this other than a lack of typos. Simply terrible. It’s a shame there are already 3 books in this series for readers to waste their time on.
A juvenile and super annoying isekai story set in a wuxia world. The former billionaire gets an op cheat perk that makes cultivation meaningless. Furthermore, he has two priviledged women who keep saving and spoiling him throughout the book.
I stopped when one of the ladies begged him to sleep with to advance her cultivation..
Criticism and comments
The"Human Cauldron." Plot sounds just insane..
Rook is an imbecile!
A woman needs the mc to teach her how to lead on men.. i don't think so..
"Tomorrow, we go full tilt on grinding XP." How is he supposed to speak that meaningless slang in a foreign language?
This is a great book. I was never bored once while reading it. There's always some action happening a little bit of drama. There's always progression happening. The author does a good job of making the world feel real. Lived in the main character is a realist but not a scumbag. It's just really done. Well done throughout. I'm looking forward to reading the next books in the series. I would tell you some more plot points, but I don't want to take away from your enjoyment of the book. I hope this helps. I apologize for any spelling errors. I'm writing this review at the voice to text
This story read like an absurdist's nonsensically deranged cultivation dream. Above emojis serve very well as a review for this travesty of a book.
I recommend not paying for this before you first check it out by way of Audible or some sample. Its on Virtual Voice on Audible so free if you have a membership.
It is truly bad to the point of being hilarious at times. The problem though is that its written as if serious.
Ok. That last page or so made a lot of things make sense. I was raging a little at the infeasability of how the sect was operating. (It would be unsustainable in the long run. Like, the sect wouldn't grow.)
Most of the novel has a little cheese with how his gold finger works but only slightly more than the ussual. It's fun to see the progress regardless.
Twelve 300+ page “novels” posted in 4 months. Every other paragraph has an em dash and a list of 3, including the author bio. Random one word sentences. Utterly devoid of any sort of personality or effort, avoid this mass-produced slop at all costs.
And most of the 5 star ratings are obviously faked too, they have the same exact generic praises.
The origin didn't quite live up to the hype. I expected more of the world dominated tech guy. Starting after he's already in the world and part of a sect just seemed to cheapen the experience. After that though the experience got quite better. Epilogue was confusing.
Good enough story but the sexualization was a bit much. I guess it tracks with a spoiled trust fund kid but main character felt a bit like a villain so if that was the goal then I guess it was accomplished. I got most of the way through but didn't feel like contributing but it was close. Good author, better than me for sure.
This series really leans into steady, consistent progression. It’s not about sudden power spikes—it’s about putting in the work and watching it compound over time, which makes it surprisingly addictive to read.
I’m really looking forward to breezing through the rest of the series.
I am curious to see where it is going, but I would not recommend
Jumping from scene to scene, leaving out details. I have o idea what the world looks like. A thousand people hiding in a cave and not mention of the size, we have to assume it is big, very big cave, perhaps like a cavern.
Xianxia with a plot mixed in. I enjoyed this. The author has thought through some interesting moral questions. His female characters were not well developed but I think maybe the author has room to grow in that direction.
Like the title says fast paced and exciting. I don't normally leave reviews but this book deserves a good one. Good job on editing, story moved along nicely, I liked the system usage, and how the MC uses it.
Good story so far there are some things I didn't care all that much for but the characters are deep the action is exciting overall it was a good read looking forward to read the next book in the series
I enjoyed the book and look forward to seeing the world develop more and engross me in itself. It was easy to get into and the pacing feels good and the thrill kept going at a great pace once the system came into the mix.
I love cultivation stories and this is a good one. Character is not so OP he can’t be killed, but he’s not dumb enough to be a vigilante or fighting for justice. He understands how the world works.
I’ve read a ton of this genre. This one felt unique and the writing kept up a good pace. I appreciated very few, if any, typos and no catch phrases used over and over.
The book is definitely an enjoyable read, some of the side characters can be a bit exasperating but overall the main character is nice and the story flow is enjoyable.
