This book starts off strong and somehow ends even stronger. From the very beginning, the story pulls you in, and it never lets go. The emotions are intense, the twists and turns are perfectly timed, and the dual POV adds so much depth to the story. I was completely intrigued the entire time and didn’t want to put the book down. And that ending!!! A total mind blowing finale that is unexpected and leaves a lasting impression.

The big easy gets dead

Wow! This is not a dime store mystery novel, this is a well-researched, murder mystery with a complex backstory.

JoJo had an okay childhood until her father went to the middle east. While that aftermath was bad, it was nothing compared to how her life was changed by Katrina. Paget also lost her parents in Katrina, but she healed; JoJo ran.

This novel is full of psychological aspects of the characters with strong character development. The reader understands and may even defend the antagonist I. This prescient movel.

TW: SA, murder, parental.death, confinement, neglect of a child, medical content/injury

I read this as an ARC. I ate this book up. It follows the lives of two best friends whose lives took entirely different paths. Can detective Paget catch the serial killer that’s causing fear in her area. Can JoJo overcome her horrible past. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Will defiantly read more from this author.

Need a fast-paced thriller? If so, check out "Cradle to Grave" by Angela McClintock. Josette lost everything at a young age, from her father's suicide to Hurricane Katrina. She lost her best friend and her mother. There was a lot of trauma and a friendship that ended in tragedy. I could predict some things, but not everything. It kept me super engaged. I enjoyed it.

I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars.

It was a good read, I didn’t see the twist coming. There was some emotional aspects to this book, so if you have triggers please read the warnings.

The author did a great job with this book I would recommend.

I loved this book! Are serial killers born or created through trauma? The author is very knowledgeable about trauma and how it affects people. I plowed through this book. Well written and an interesting and exciting read!

Wow what a heartbreaking, heart pounding, edge of your seat thriller! This is my 1st book by this author but definitely wont be my last. The way this story weaves two timeless was spot on. I could feel the sadness for a child having to see things and feel things no child should. I love the determination of the lead detective while the story also showcases her softer side. The twists and turns had me screaming as I was reading this book! If you enjoy thrillers that also bring awareness to mental health this is a must read!
