I don’t remember committing the massacre, but that doesn’t stop them from sentencing me to life in prison.
The Bellweir is a supernatural slaughterhouse where monsters are stripped of their magic and forced into obedience. I arrive unclaimed, unprotected, and already marked for death. Then four of the most dangerous inmates in the facility start watching me.
A fallen fae executioner who hears the dead. Twin vampires who rule the blood trade. And a dragon shifter who doesn’t mate, but reacts to me anyway.
Trapped in a prison that wants to own me. Bound to monsters who might destroy me. And claimed by a fate I don’t remember choosing.
why choose, paranormal romance, forced proximity, fated mates, enemies to lovers, touch her and die, morally grey antiheroes
This was an enticing read! It was more plot-heavy than I expected it to be (not in a bad way!), and I really enjoyed the depth that the story ended up having! The multiple POVs was used in a really good way - not too much so that it got confusing, but just added extra detail. I wish we'd gotten to see a little more about the bond with Laurent and Dracen but I guess that's saved for the sequel. I really liked all the characters, and was interested in where the plot was going to take them all next!.

This book started out really good, definitely a 5 star. Unfortunately, it shifted around the halfway point. It's not that it got bad. It just got really boring. It was basically them all just in their unit, reiterating the same things over and over and over again and acting like it was the first time the MCs were saying them. It took me days instead of hours to finish the book because of that.

I thought this was pretty good. I loved the characters and the way this set around them so being in prison. The whole idea behind this was great as was the world building. This is my first time reading this author and I’m really looking forward to reading the next one.
