An eclectic quartet of stories that blend mystery, horror, with the uncanny, and truly original.
You’ll have a very short story (about 5 pages), combined with the three others that take up the rest of the pages of the book.
My favorite was “The Basement,” the opening story, which details a terrifying creature (that merges human and another creature) I won’t spoil it. The Basement will have you on the edge of your seat and checking to make sure the light is on before going down to the basement. Or, any room for that matter.
A short but powerful collection of four horror stories. Each one is tightly crafted, atmospheric, and emotionally sharp, building dread with careful pacing.
Fans of The Disappearing of Three Forks will love this one because we get a glimpse of what happens next. The continuation offers satisfying developments while still preserving the eerie ambiguity that made the original so memorable.
Though brief, this collection packs an impressive punch.
*No Spoilers* Marked was an absolute fantastic read. I was on the edge of my seat in suspense with each story in the book. So much great character growth, K.L. Patrick has delivered yet another wonderful book!
