I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This is an Aladdin retelling. It's set in a more modern world that still holds a lot of old (and kind of archaic) practices, but with magic.
There was NOT a trigger warning in the front of this book! Hopefully the final copy has one, but there was all the lead up to a SA that got thwarted at the last minute.
Since this is a retelling, the story and plot were fairly predictable. The evil characters did feel overly dramatically evil and hateable. In general I found the writing a bit cheesy and cringy. And many of the characters acted like and felt like high schoolers, not adults in their mid-to-late twenties.
Trigger: almost SA
Mild language. Moderate spice.

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for the ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.

A story where fate feels written in claws and silence

There is an intriguing idea at the heart of this story, where a cursed prince and a girl bound by circumstance are pulled into a world that feels both familiar and dangerous. Fin and Aisling carry the narrative through a dual POV structure that gives each of them a distinct voice and presence. Their abilities set them apart in a way that adds texture to the worldbuilding and keeps the story moving between two different emotional lenses.

The writing leans into a young adult feeling while still introducing moments of adult spice, which creates a contrast that is noticeable throughout the reading experience. It gives the story a shifting tone that sometimes feels soft and other times more mature, depending on whose perspective takes the lead.

The connection between Fin and Aisling builds gradually, shaped by tension, curiosity and the weight of what they are both becoming within the curse that surrounds them. The pacing works in waves, with stronger momentum in some sections while other parts feel more restrained, giving space for the world and its rules to unfold.

There are moments where the predictability of certain plot directions shows through, which slightly softens the impact of the twists. Even so, the concept of a cursed transformation and the emotional undertone of identity and control keeps the story engaging enough to hold attention until the end.

Overall, this is a fantasy romance that blends youthful energy with darker magical elements and a touch of spice, creating a reading experience that sits somewhere between comfort and conflict.

arranged circumstances | cursed prince | tiger shifter | dual POV | fantasy romance | young adult tone with adult spice | magical abilities | slow burn tension | identity struggle

I enjoyed it!!! Took me a little bit to get into it, but once I did I really liked it. Cool mix of characters and I thought it was neat that there were cell phone, castles and magic! I loved the little band of misfits! lol. The twin flames concept was cool too. It was a great story! I recommend!

This was a pretty solid and entertaining trope filled fantasy retelling. I really liked how the moon illuminates him to human from his tiger form. He falls hard and fast (maybe too fast?) for Aisling.

Fin is quite endearing though with his love struck cuteness. I would've like a bit more character development and the way they spoke threw me sometimes because it sounded like teenage dialog sometimes.

The unique abilities were kinda cool but the urban settings and magic and modern was also a bit all over the place so it was hard to pin down a time and place sometimes. Overall, looking past some things, there is a fun adventure here and some great back and forth, especially with his curse form etc.

One would be forgiven in assuming this is high fantasy; a band of urchins, a castle, a king, waning magic, a princess...yes, sounds very much on the fantasy side but, it's actually an urban fantasy read, cell phones, tv, tech.... And that's what makes it unusual and oh so interesting!

I liked Finn from the start, a young man who has visions, a young man surviving by thieving with his "new" family, a young man who's world suddenly narrows when he spots Aisling across the ballroom floor... and he realises THIS is his twin flame, or fated mate. His heart was pulled, literally, by Aisling, the Princess of the realm. What was really credible was that, even though Aisling felt something stirring, she didn't immediately accept his declaration, she needed to process. And Finn, the gentleman he is, allowed her the space. Which wasn't easy, she was looking doom right in the face, an arranged marriage that she couldn't see a way out of. Both these characters were extremely likeable, both cocky, neither one were the "I'll lie down so I can be trampled over". Heather gave us all the nuances of their personalities, we know exactly what they think, what they feel. And boy, do they ever do both!

With magic rapidly dissipating in the country, only a marriage between 2 royals can get the balance back, can reignite the magic. Which is how Aisling finds herself in this awful predicament. And her groom to be is a sleazeball, although, his mother is even worse! Gahhh, I REALLY didn't like her! Aisling's only friend, Bunny, is delightful, equally supportive as she is disapproving of Aisling's antics. Namely sneaking out of the castle. Some of what came out of Bunny's mouth was hilarious. On the other side, Finn has his friends, more like family really, Egan, Rory, Ro, Trell, who are 100 % there for each other. I loved the banter, loads of giggle moments. Not that it was a funny read, it was full of inner turmoil, of seeking a way out, for both Finn and Aisling and a passionate love story. Not just the spicy bits, but the passion to get a cure, to get answers, to free themselves and the realm. But it's the love that Finn carries that really was so hot and sweet at the same time, he, literally, cannot live without Aisling, this is literally true, "Without you, there is no me.”

When a curse is placed on Finn, he acquires a whole new family, the furry kind. The animal companions, as real to me as the rest, were a nice touch. I absolutely loved Piglet, Klaus and Sol! Piglet is the coolest hedgehog ever! But things escalate rapidly for both Aisling and Finn, or should I say de-escalate. When Aisling almost meets with a disastrous event, she's saved at the last second. As she realises who actually saved her, as she realises a curse has been put on Finn, the race is on to lift the curse off Finn, and likewise to prevent Aisling's abdominal imminent wedding. What happens next was as mind-blowing as it was intense. So many frayed edges, so many realisations and revelations literally pound them! They discover much hidden truths, the biggest being this twin flame thing is more powerful than either thought. Although they were challenged at every step, they discovered a love so real and it was beautiful to see it unfold. The author took this story through many twists and turns, bringing in elements that caught me off guard and turned up the dial on both stakes and action, slowly, slowly, slowly, I wasn't aware I was simmering in anguish until I was!

Although I did find the pacing inconsistent at times, this author always gets me, good! I feel like I'm skipping along nicely, avoiding all the potholes she's placed along the way, and then she opens a flipping sink hole right in front of me! The tension ebbs and flows and I'm lulled into a rhythm of what to expect but she ups the ante bit by bit, the hurdles becoming higher and higher without my being aware of it until I'm suddenly plunged into a crater, not know if or how I'll get out! That's where I ended up in the last few chapters, in a monster hole looking for a way out! Well, not me per say, the characters were shoved in the same crater! I was astounded at HOW the author produced the lifeline.... I wasn't expecting that. But, as Heather does, she brings me to a beautiful (albeit hair-raising!) HEA and I can exhale once more. There's a little teaser about Egan at the end, I have a feeling we'll be seeing her soon...

🇬🇧 ENGLISH REVIEW

Writing this review isn't exactly easy. Overall, I can say I enjoyed the story, but there are some aspects I would have appreciated more if handled differently.

What we have before us could almost be considered a retelling and even a fantasy romance. There's Princess Aisling, heir to the throne and forced to marry Simon; together, they should have the ability to save the kingdom. But no one takes the princess's desires and feelings into consideration, not even her own father. Meanwhile, Simon can be described as a social climber with shady intentions, aided by his mother, who is willing to do anything to get what she wants, even resorting to threats and subterfuge.

Then there's Finn, an outcast who grew up on the streets, whose only family are other kids like him, united by life, not blood. A boy like him shouldn't even share the same air as a princess, but fate wills that they are bound by a bond that transcends time and space.

They're "twin flames," but while Finn immediately accepts this bond and makes it his own, Aisling needs time to reflect and decide whether to believe in it or not, even when she feels the pull of this connection. I certainly appreciated that she didn't immediately fall at his feet—after all, they don't know each other—but I equally appreciated that Finn immediately wanted to protect her, especially from a fate she never wanted, and he doesn't care how he can save her, he just has to do it. They're two stubborn men who don't give up, each driven by different yet valid reasons.

The contrast between the two characters is another thing I liked. He's a boy who lives on the margins of society, considered less than nothing and resorting to any means to survive, but he would also do anything for the good of his "family," and now also of Aisling. While he is fully aware of the lives of the common people, she is light years away from it, confined to the golden prison of her castle, isolated from the outside world, barely aware of what really happens beyond the high walls that surround her.

Between various intrigues, enemies closer than you might think, and a few curses here and there, our two favorites will have a lot to work through beyond their own feelings. They'll have to learn to roll up their sleeves to be and live as they want.

There are two things I feel I should note. The first is that I struggled to empathize with the characters at the beginning, but that eases as the story progresses. The other is that perhaps I would have preferred a few more pages dedicated to the conclusion. Practically everything is resolved, but I'm naturally curious and wouldn't have minded a little more curiosity.

Curse of The Tiger Prince
By: Heather D. Grace

**Note: I like to take notes, then write my review. So, that’s what these random thoughts are. I received an advanced reader copy of this book to review honestly.

1. I’ve never read a book in the genre before, but it sounds very interesting! I’ll give any book genre a chance.

2. Beautiful cover! The tiger is gorgeous, but so is the lady and the background is beautiful, but like the opposite types of beauty. I love it! It’s eye catching!

3. I’m only a few pages in and I love all of the unique names of these characters. Fin, Rory, Dontrell, Egan, Róisin, Aisling, and Seraphia.

4. Ugh of course Morrigan is involved. After the first into I already know she’s going to be awful!

5. The animal friends are too cute! I didn’t expect the animals to be involved.

6. I like how realistic the first adult scene is. It’s not always rainbows and gumdrops the first time. So, I like the realism! Scenes after that are steamyyy! The descriptions from both pov are perfect!

7. I giggled cause I want to reach in to the book and do the same. “I want to punch her square in that perfectly sloped and pointy sniffer hard enough she sees those tweeting birdies flying around her head.” (pg. 160)

8. I have many thoughts about what I think might happen and what I want to happen…so I’m excited to continue reading!

9. I love Heather Grace’s writing style. It flows beautifully and plays like a movie in my mind. I can clearly see the characters and background setting.

10. Piglet is the cutest! Oh my gosh! I love the animal characters as much as I do the human ones.

11. I’ve wanted to reach into the book and choke Morrigan many times! Heather Grace has created a couple of great villains in this book.

12. This book has turned into a page turner!

13. This!! 😂😭 All of us moms have the “mom voice”! ““Don’t make me use my mom voice,”” (pg. 346)

14. Wooww!! I’m near the ending and the way I just yelled at the book and woke up my husband 🤭 it’s after 4 am and I can’t stop reading!

Wow! I’m honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! Honestly, I’ve never read a book like this involving magic, animals, and kingdoms. I really, truly enjoyed it.

It was interesting from the beginning, then it got super good, and then before I knew it I was entranced. It became a page turner that I couldn’t put down.

Heather Grace has a writing style that flows easily, she builds the characters, and the surrounding areas. It was easy to picture the scenery and characters.

I like that the book had a variety of characters. I do think there is a better way of describing darker skin other than “dark”. I saw that quite a few times. White characters were described as “silky porcelain” and such, but just “dark” was off putting.

I enjoyed how even the animal characters had their own personalities and attitudes. The book has characters that are sweet, strong, resilient, and the villains were great cause I was ready to jump into the book!!

It did feel like there were important gaps that were missed. I don’t include spoilers in my reviews, but without giving much away…the passage, mom, tea, and reason for the tea (first time) felt like it was built up and then suddenly dropped off.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading Curse Of The Tiger Prince!! I hope in the future there will be a book two at least. It didn’t really leave on a cliff hanger, but it left me wondering why it ended so suddenly. The ending felt a bit..not rushed, but everything happened and it was an awesome build up, but then that was it. It felt like another 20 pages or so, basically an extended scene, a year or two time jump, or something, would have felt better than just suddenly dropping off. That being said, I’m hoping there is a book two that will come out in the future. This book opened my mind to this type of genre since I enjoyed it so much. It was a pleasure to read!

This was an ARC read.

While I did enjoy this book overall, I found myself surprisingly disconnected from the characters. For me, this read more like a young adult storyline with adult-level spice, and I think that tonal mismatch made it harder for me to fully settle into the book. If I had connected more deeply with the characters, this easily could have been a four-star read.

Aisling’s characterization was one of the more mixed aspects for me. On one hand, I think the author did a great job showing how her isolation in the castle shaped her worldview and contributed to her naivety. There were moments though, especially toward the climax when breaking the curse, where her intelligence seemed to be dialed back for the sake of the plot. She recognizes the warning signs, and then chooses to ignore them in a way that didn’t fully align with how she’d been established earlier in the story. If that kind of behavior had been present from the beginning, it might not have felt so jarring for me.

That said, I really enjoyed the take on the fated mates trope. The dynamic of one character being fully committed while the other is confused and questioning worked well, and Aisling’s reaction of “what you talkin bout?” felt authentic to her upbringing and environment. It gave the trope a bit of freshness that I appreciated.

I also wish there had been more grounding in the worldbuilding early on. The blend of magic and technology is such a fun and unique concept. It could be because I don’t read a lot of Urban Fantasy, but it took me a bit to orient myself. I’m not sure exactly what the disconnect was, but I felt like some of the worldbuilding that came from the middle of the story could have been frontloaded to make for a smoother transition.

Bunny was hands down my favorite character. She brought a grounded outlook that balanced out the fantastical elements. Everyone needs that friend who can look at a situation and say, “really?” The detail of the chair being referred to as her chair during the wedding sequence had me laughing. I also loved the animal companions; they added charm and helped maintain momentum, especially during Fin’s solo moments.

The magic system tied to Aisling and Fin’s relationship was another unique aspect that I enjoyed.
The idea that the kingdom’s power grows stronger as they grow closer added a welcome worldbuilding layer. It made the fated mates trope feel more impactful, and it was fun to see the magic evolve alongside the characters.

The spice level felt well-balanced and appropriately spaced throughout the story. It never overwhelmed the plot, and it was clear that there was genuine chemistry between Aisling and Fin beyond the mate bond.

On the flip side, the monster-in-law and fiancé leaned a bit too far into exaggerated, almost Disney-villain territory for my taste. While that style can absolutely work, it personally pulled me out of the story at times.

I also want to note that there is an on-page attempted sexual assault that did not have a clear content warning (at least from what I saw). While the situation does not escalate fully, it was still jarring to encounter without prior notice. That said, the author handled the aftermath well. Aisling’s reactions felt realistic, and the emotional impact carried into her later interactions in a believable way.

Finn, in contrast, won my affection in how he supported Aisling through that moment and beyond. He is very much a “consent king,” consistently prioritizing her needs, boundaries, and comfort. His care and attentiveness added a strong element to their love story.

Overall, while I had some disconnect with the characters and pacing, there’s a lot here to appreciate. Especially the unique world concept, the take on fated mates, and the emotional themes woven throughout.

I would recommend this to readers who enjoy fantasy romance with fated mates, a mix of magic and technology, and a balance of sweetness and spice.

In this fairytale reimagining, we follow a princess in the modern world - she has a cell phone! - and there's magic, too! The story kicks off with the King announcing the betrothal that princess Aisling is unhappy about, but of course it is always the duty of the princess to marry off to whomever will be best for the kingdom. Except, at that ball where the announcement is made she meets her "Twin Flame" Fin, and instantly laments her fate. Or, at least he tells her they're fated, while he's stealing from the castle.

Our MMC is part of a rag tag thieving group and his power is visions. Right after he meets his fated mate and falls (insanely hard and fast) he gets cursed (no evil plans can be foiled by fate says the dark magic doers). Now he is stuck in the body of a beautiful white tiger during the day, and only moonlight can change him back, until the sun comes back up. If it sounds familiar, that's the fairytale retelling portion of it. But with a different animal, and gender swapped! He falls hard instantly, and it's slow burn for her as she spends her days hiding from her duties by hanging out with this really nice tiger who protects her in the woods, before learning who he is.

The POV switches back and forth so we get a little bit of Fin's personality, but I wanted more there. All we hear is how absolutely obsessed he is with the princess, and how he will do anything to get out of his curse and save her from marrying someone else. I wanted a little more for his personality development. We spend most of the time in the Princess's POV so we get to know her and her best friend/handmaid much better. They're a goofy pair, really don't act much like royal and royal servant, but maybe that's the modern aspect of it. She's 24 but acts much younger. Then again, when I look back at my Facebook statuses from the early '00s, well, I also sounded like a little girl. So we'll give her a pass. Except I don't want to give her a pass for her naivete. Like girlfriend, you know something is not right, you felt it, why keep going. Trust your instincts babe!

The story is tropey and a dang good time. We have dark magic and manipulation running wild and stopping our characters at every attempt to set things right. And stakes kept getting raised with the curse and the forced marriage looming. We have spice that is spicing between our two when he's in his human form. We have some other things to just suspend disbelief on (such as the castle for the opposing kingdom is a few hours walk away?). Also, the title of the book gives away the secret that is later found out by our MMC about his identity. But setting all that aside, the story is a fun ride.

I loved that their magic grew stronger as their bond grew stronger. Love heals all things and returns magic to the realms, of course! Most of all I loved the animal companions that helped our friends out. Even more than I liked Fin's group of friends who are family. And I am a fan of scenes where animals help stop a wedding that shouldn't happen. Thanks furry besties for your service!

I also love easter eggs, and having Aisling read a book that is another series this author writes just tickled me.  I also liked how the story set up for another fairytale retelling, perhaps an interconnected standalone.

I do wish there was more world building and character personality building. Because I really wanted to love all the characters (like I do with the author's other series), but I didn't get to know them well yet.

The ending was sweet, and all the love-struck things Fin says to Aisling are super quotable and swoony.

This book is a quick and easy read. Just hold on for the ride and enjoy the vibes. Solid 3.5 stars = a good fun vibey read.

Thanks to the author for having me on her street team/ARC readers list!

3,5/5⭐

At the ball for Princess Aisling's unwanted betrothal, someone suddenly approached her and claimed to be her Twin Flame, Fin. Aisling was skeptical because Twin Flames are so rare and thought to have been gone for ages, but Aisling's heart felt unsettled since her meeting with Fin, and decided to look for him to know him more. but the night she met Fin was the beginning of Fin being cursed to become a tiger during the day—a man at night, how can Fin convince Aisling that she is his twin flame? but true love always finds a way...including breaking an evil curse.

"If we are 'Twin Flames' as you insist," I say, interrupting him and using air quotes to emphasize my doubts, "then I'm sure we will meet again. If we don't, then you and I will both know it wasn't meant to be."

It's such a fun and creative retelling of Aladdin in a mix of the old and modern world✨ This book is easy to follow, the story flowed nicely and kept me entertained, although there are some definite holes in this book, and the worldbuilding is a bit off for me. there are parts that make me confused about how far this technology has progressed, because for me, it sounds like the medieval era with cellphones.

"You have no idea how long I have waited to feel you in my arms," he says, his lips brushing against my hair. "Since the first moment I saw you on that dais, I knew I was yours."

She places a hand on the side of my face, drawing my eyes up to hers.
"I love you," she says, her eyes watering in earnest.
"I love you, too, a ghrá," I say, rolling to her side and tucking her into the crook of my arm.

And about the romance between the MCs...this is insta love for Fin, in this book we can see how obsessed Fin is with Aisling from the start he met her. and for Aisling, she has only seen Fin in his tiger form for months and when she finds that her tiger is Fin, there she believes that Fin is her twin flame and accepts him entirely...He's very obsessed but very gentle to Aisling, he convinces her slowly and patiently🥰 and I like the found family trope here, how they support each other amidst chaos. Not all of Fin's "family" members immediately accept Aisling as his Twin Flame, but they still help Aisling and Fin break the curse and defeat the villains, who are really really villain-y😤

Overall, this book is an enjoyable read, with light conflict, and a Disney movie-like plot. A great book with a new perspective on the retelling of Aladdin!✨

Curse of the Tiger Prince is a spicy, twisted, fairytale retelling featuring Ainsley and Finley (aka Fin).

I loved the authors take on this fantasy realm where both magic and technology exists. I also enjoyed the mix of both dark and light magic. I appreciated how the story was told from dual POVs so we could understand what was happening from both Ainsley's and Fin's per perspectives. The author quickly caught my attention and had me captivated throughout the story.

I found the secondary characters (both two-legged and four) interesting and meaningful. I felt that they each contributed to the enjoyment of the overall tale. I especially enjoyed Ainsley's hand maiden and best friend, Bunny. I would love to read her story!

I've read several works by Grace and enjoy her writing style. It was an easy book to get into and like her others, I would recommend checking this one out. I'm not sure if this will be part of a new series, and if so, will some of the secondary characters become main characters, or will each be a unique fairytale. Regardless, I always welcome to opportunity to read and review her books.

This follows Fin and Aisling. When Fin first sees Aisling, he knows she’s his Twin Flame, but when he tells her and tries to figure out a way to get her, he’s cursed to be a tiger during the day and man at night. Now, Aisling has to figure out a way to break the curse.

This was such an odd book. It’s an urban fantasy, which to me means it’s set in our world. From what I can tell, it’s not in our world, or parallel to our world, but does use a lot of our technology, like cellphones, in a fantasy world. It was baffling. It seems to be a mix of Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast with a curse and a street rat that falls in love with a princess. which I love the idea and concept.

It was written in a way that’s easy to read, like YA, with very adult moments, but also very young adult moments. I kept forgetting how old everyone was because their interactions made me think of teenagers.

I think the characters were fun, each of them unique with their ow unique abilities and skillsets. They were this misfit found family that meet a princess and her agoraphobe friend that made a rather eclectic bunch. They were fun, but they didn’t quite act their age.

I didn’t really understand the world at all. Some world-building would have been nice to help explain about the world and its history more. It seemed to focus more on the romance and characters.

The romance itself I guess was supposed to be a slow burn, but was not. I mean Fin tells Aisling she’s his mate in what? The second chapter and then tells her he loves her only a few chapters later and they sleep together the same chapter, like this book seemed longer than it needed to be, but the romance was so fast. Everything else seemed to drag, but not the romance!

I don’t really know how to feel after reading this. It was okay. I think it had good ideas, I just don’t think the writing style and pacing was for me.

Thank you to the author for the e-ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

*ARC received from author in exchange for my honest review*

I really liked the premise of this story so was excited to read it.

The story follows Fin, an apparent street urchin (with perhaps a little bit of a backstory) and Princess Aisling, who is heir to the throne and is being forced into an arranged marriage with Simon, who, spoiler alert, is a massive douche (along with his Mother Morrigan - epitome of the evil mother in law!)

Princess Aisling and Fin meet and he’s a goner from that moment onward. I liked that Aisling needs a bit more time to come around to the idea!
I’m not normally an instalove fan, but the twin flame concept was essentially the same as ‘fated mates’ so I just tried to think of it that way and it didn’t bother me.

There’s lots of intrigue and as it’s a fairytale retelling, some of it was predictable, but that’s not a criticism of the book or author at all. The ‘found family’ element is really really cute and I appreciated the diversity of the side characters, it really brought the story into the modern age!

The spice was well written, though I would have liked to have seen a bit more 🤭. Fin had the potential to be a bit of a panty melter, but I felt like he was a bit too respectful of Aisling (even Princesses like a bit of dirty talk surely?!)

Things could have potentially been fleshed out a bit more (perhaps the author could have made it a duology?) and I would have liked to have seen more of what happens after all of the chaos (no spoilers), but perhaps that’s because I’m a sucker for a well rounded HEA* (*that is code for ‘I’m nosey and want all the juicy details!’)

All in all, it was a good read that I enjoyed a lot. I definitely wouldn’t mind reading more from the author and am hopeful this starts to become a series, because I prefer the authors versions of these fairytales much more than the originals!!

While the story is interesting, I felt like a lot of the world-building had been left out or not completely thought out which made it feel like it was a good book, not a great book. The story is about a princess who is forced to marry to preserve the dwindling magic in her kingdom. At the party where the match is announced, she runs into her "Twin Flame" (aka, soulmate) who is was guided to her by his own magic visions. This is where you realize that the world building is lacking. Apparently, this world is losing magic due to increased reliance on technology such as cell phones, but there's no explanation as to how or why this is happening. There are also neighboring kingdoms that are against magic with no explanation as to how this developed or why it's important. The world is a weird mix of old and new. There are cell phones (used extensively for texting) but computer usage is rare. Technology doesn't appear to be used in weaponry or security for the castle and all the characters walk everywhere. So where is all the tech?

If you look past the details, the story is fun and it does keep you guessing as to how the princess will be saved from a terrible marriage. The MMC is cursed to be a tiger except when touched by moonlight, but there's a convenient addition to the curse that feels more like a major plot convenience than the villain being truly that crafty to think ahead. Our FMC is sweet, not sassy, with a kind, trusting heart. She is a damsel in distress who needs to be rescued, but she isn't rescued just by the MMC. She's rescued by him and his found family - and by extension, her new extended family.

The relationships in this book are my favorite part. It shows the value and reality of true friendship and family and how love and loyalty make all the difference.

*ARC received from author in exchange for my honest review*

If you’re like me and can never decide which fairy-tale is your favourite, Heather D. Grace basically said "why choose?" and gave us all of them.

The Ultimate Fairy-tale Mashup
This is primarily a Swan Princess retelling, but with a major Aladdin twist. While reading, I was also getting total Beauty and the Beast and Little Red Riding Hood vibes. It’s basically a fever dream for fairy-tale lovers, and I am here for it!

Why I Loved It:
Urban Fantasy Goals: I obsessed over the blend of magical and modern. It’s gritty, cool, and makes the world feel so much more immersive.

The "Street Urchin" Trope: We’ve got a Princess and a guy from the streets who—shocker—might be way more than meets the eye. Their chemistry? Off the charts.

Twin Flames: If you love the "destined soulmates" energy, the twin flame concept in this book is executed so well.

Found Family > Everything: The side characters and the found family vibes were easily some of my favourite parts. They balanced out the drama of the Evil Stepmother perfectly.

Final Vibes:
Pacing: Super solid. Even though it’s a bit of a chunky book, I never felt like it dragged.

Spice Level: 🌶️ Just the right amount! It’s cute and adventurous but has that perfect touch of heat.

The Verdict: It’s a bit on the longer side, but honestly, it’s worth every page. If you want a magical, romantic escape that hits all your favourite tropes, go grab this one!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

I had the pleasure of receiving this as an e-ARC and
voluntarily will be giving my honest review. This was a different read for me! This was an urban fantasy with a modern day twist with the FMC having a cell phone!! Love the easter eggs in this story as the FMC reads another book from the Author absolutely loved that!! This was a great read felt like i was actually there in the book.

“Her father chose her husband. Fate chose her mate.

Her arranged marriage coming soon, Aisling will soon be trapped in a life of velvet cages and polished lies. Then a thief crashes into her world—feral, infuriating, and impossible to forget.

Fin is a tiger by day. A man by night.

A cursed, bastard prince with blood on his hands and a heart that still knows how to protect. His crew is a found family, bonded from their years as orphaned magic kids. In a kingdom that hunts magic, him and his ominous visions are the only reasons they’re still breathing.

But Fin tells her a truth she’s not ready to believe.

Aisling is his Twin Flame. His fated mate. And their magic combined is the only thing strong enough to break his curse—and stop the dark, great animal threatening the kingdoms.

If Aisling runs from her father’s command, she’ll be handing her kingdom straight into Morrigan’s black magic and destruction, though the arranged marriage to her son may kill Aisling anyway.

But if she gives in to the bond burning between her and Fin…the very magic that should save him, may drain his life first.

Love was never part of the plan… Now it’s the most dangerous choice she can make”

The Curse of the Tiger Prince by Heather D. Grace, provided via Grey’s Promo, is a fantasy romance that stands out through its unique premise, character dynamics, and fresh take on a fairytale retelling.

The story follows Aisling, who has lived a life of isolation within a castle. This upbringing shapes not only her personality but also how she views the world around her, adding depth to her character from the start.

Fin, the MMC, brings one of the most intriguing elements to the story. Cursed to exist as a white tiger during the day and only able to return to his human form at night, his character adds both complexity and uniqueness to the narrative. This aspect alone made the story feel different from other fantasy romances.

What stood out most to me was how the book approached the idea of a retelling. While it draws from fairytale elements, it doesn’t feel confined by them. Instead, it creates its own identity, allowing the story to stand on its own while still carrying that familiar foundation.

As someone who doesn’t typically gravitate toward retellings, this was a surprising highlight. The way the story was written made it feel fresh and engaging, ultimately shifting my perspective on the genre as a whole.

I did find myself wanting more of Fin’s presence throughout the story, as his character and storyline were particularly compelling.

Overall, The Curse of the Tiger Prince is an engaging and immersive fantasy romance that offers a unique take on the retelling genre while delivering a memorable reading experience.

This story was really cute and a fun read. It provided a small little escape of romantic fairytale from all my other stuff. I enjoyed that there was no cliffhanger, that it was completely wrapped up in the end.
I gave it four stars because it was cute, fun and romantic. I don't know what it was but it was a bit hard for me to get int it. Not sure why because this is just up my alley but it took a bit to get through.
I enjoyed the feel of the fairytale yet modern world. It was something in between and I think it was really well done. I liked that there were two very different kingdoms that treated magic differently, I think this would be something that comes up later. I loved the idea of Twin Flames and I think that there could have a been a lot more on that but again, maybe that will come later in future books.
The curse of the tiger it was good one, I really enjoyed that little twist.
I liked how both of the main characters were written. There was chemistry but it also didn't overshadow the plot of the book. They were very real feeling and I really enjoyed that.
The side characters all stood out on their own but didn't take over the story.
The villains in the story seem to win all the time and that was a little annoying but it all ended up making sense in the end.

All and all this book was really well written and a fun little side trip. If you like fun, romantic, cursed princes, princesses who don't always need saving but won't say no to it and a group of misfits this is the book for you! Recommend adding it to your TBR!

Thank you once again, Heather D. Grace and her team for allowing me on this ARC team. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

✨ Spicy and Twisted Urban Fairytales #1

🖤 One phrase: cursed tiger prince chaos with fated mate bite.

This sounds like such a fun, messy, magical fairytale remix. A princess trapped in an arranged marriage, a thief who is actually a cursed prince, twin flame magic, found family, black magic, and a man who is literally a tiger by day? Yeah, I’m listening. What makes this one stand out is that it seems to pull from a bunch of classic fairytale vibes while still feeling playful, romantic, and a little dangerous.

My favorite part is easily the setup between Aisling and Fin. He is instantly gone for her, she takes a little more convincing, and then everything gets worse in the best way once the curse kicks in. I also love that the found family sounds like a real highlight here because magical orphan crew energy always hits.

Curse of the Tiger Prince delivers exactly what I want from a romantasy: a heroine standing on the edge of a life she never chose, a cursed prince who crashes into her world like a storm, and a bond that feels both dangerous and inevitable.

Aisling is days away from an arranged marriage that feels more like a sentence than a celebration, and the book does a great job capturing that pretty on the outside, but suffocating underneath feeling. Enter Fin, a thief with claws, secrets, and a fiercely loyal found family. His curse, his visions, and his desperate need to protect the people he loves give him a depth I didn’t expect but really enjoyed.

The Twin Flame connection between them is intense without being instant‑love mush. It’s more like a spark that keeps catching at the wrong moments, especially when Aisling realizes that choosing Fin might save kingdoms… or cost him everything. The stakes stay high, and the looming threat of dark magic adds tension.

My only reason for landing at four stars is that I wanted just a little more time with the found family crew! They’re such a fun, chaotic mix of misfits that every scene with them is wonderful. Still, the blend of curse‑breaking, political danger, and slow‑burn heat kept me turning pages.

If you love fated mates, animal shifters, and heroines who refuse to be quietly sacrificed for someone else’s power, this one absolutely scratches the itch.

Disclaimer: ARC Reader

I really loved this book and wish there were half ratings. Honestly I probably could have given it a 5 ⭐️ but it was hard for me to get into as noted by how long it took me to finish. But it may have been a me thing. But also idk if I was having de ja vu the entire time reading it or there was a slight level of predictability. Based on that I give it 4.5 🌟

Honestly I loved the storyline, loved even more that the author didn’t drag this into a duology bc there was definitely opportunity there. Which was probably also impacting my read bc I was praying it wouldn’t be dragged out. So still grateful. Ok also the idea of animal eating & doing animal things then kissing a human lmao the hygiene part also probably took me out a little. But you know fantasy and I had to just pretend there was some grooming in between 😂😂

No but honestly I loved this story. The FMC did not stress me out omg maybe I should give it 5 ⭐️ bc there was no point when I felt like the FMC hesitation or anxiety or whatever was doing the most. Like I actually don’t remember being pissed off at her at all. 🤔 great read. A mixture of the animal by day human by night. The underlying plot line was also good. There opportunity to have another book in the series but love that it is absolutely not a cliffhanger

This was such a fun, fairytale-esque read that had me catching little hints of so many classic stories woven throughout — I got *Aladdin* vibes, touches of *Beauty and the Beast*, and even a hint of *Little Red Riding Hood* toward the end (and I’m sure there are more I missed!).

We meet Princess Aisling as her father announces her arranged marriage to Simon — the son of his advisor, Morrigan. From the start, Aisling wants nothing to do with this future and spends much of the story trying to find a way out of it.

Then enters Fin… who literally sneaks into the castle during her engagement announcement with plans to steal, but instead finds himself completely drawn to Aisling — believing she’s his Twin Flame. Aisling, understandably, is cautious of him and his claims, but their connection is hard to ignore.

Things take a turn when Fin is followed after he leaves and cursed to become a tiger by day, only returning to human form under the moonlight. The stakes rise as both of their futures hang in the balance — will Fin break the curse, or is he doomed to remain a tiger forever while Aisling is forced into a life she never wanted?

This story was cute, adventurous, and had just the right touch of spice. It’s a bit on the longer side, but if you love fairytale retellings with romance and a magical twist, this one is definitely worth checking out!

Oh, I absolutely devoured this book! I was truly captivated and enamored by not only the story but the characters as well. I thought the world building was interesting with a mix of our current technology along with magic and castles. It was unique and distinct. I absolutely loved all the forest animals and how they played into the story. They were adorable and I couldn't get enough of Piggy!

I have always loved white tigers so I was extremely jealous that Aisling got to hangout with Fin as one. I loved that we got some of the story in his tiger form so we got his views from both perspectives. I loved Fin in both forms and thought he had such a fun, lively personality. Even though he was a tiger he had such Golden Retriever energy.

I really enjoyed Aisling and her friend Bunny. She was so sweet and pretty down to earth for a princess. I liked that she was willing to do what needed to be done and protected her friends and family.

I really loved this story and was hooked immediately. I couldn't put it down and was sad when it finished. I really hope we get more from this world, especially a story for Bunny. I would love to explore more of these characters and kingdoms. The writing is so expressive and beautifully descriptive. The angst was exemplary and the spice was just right. I would absolutely recommend it!!

This is a first time read by the Author for me it's funny and some of the characters were just out there very over the top villians in fact one of the villiand kinda reminded me a little bit of a character from a Shreak movie I won't say which one the other was classic Disney villian and this is and Aladdin retelling with old world magic amidst the new world tech computers cell phones and stuff there's a curse being thrown around sleepy royals and one Princess who just needs a break she's the one sacrificing herself to a sleazy villian for her kingdoms lack of magic when a very talented thief Finn sees and just knows she's his twin flam his fated but our girl Aislen is like just wait a minute she's not convinced in instant love and devotion but she's willing to save Finn from his curse. There are some tense moments and one scene we'll be warned attempted sexual assault with a last minute save there is a great cast of supporting characters loved the hedgehog piglet there are some parts of this story that were harder to get threw slower pace dialogue but the last half of this book really reads well once you adjust to the authors writing style. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I struggled a lot with this story. At first I was super intrigued. I felt like it was a very unique take on an Aladdin retelling so much so that at first I didn’t even realize what the fairytale twist was. But I wanted so much more from the story. I felt like the world building was lacking yet the story was extremely long & at the same time had way too many elements to explore. We are following Aisling trying to break free from her arranged marriage, free her father from the reigns of his dark magic wielding right hand while simultaneously watching her fall in love with a man who is cursed to be a tiger. Which then brings about issues of helping him break his curse & prove that they have a bond known as a myth now in their time. But we also encounter even more problems with Fin’s mom and the family he has formed with a group of kids. Ultimately there were too many elements with a 500 page book that still didn’t feel fleshed out. I also had a few issues with the romance because it felt way more instant than intended since she bonded with the tiger first. I’ll be interested to see what else this author comes up with if she plans to make interconnected standalones following other fairytales because I believe her twists on those stories are phenomenal!

The Curse Of The Tiger Prince gives a nod to the Beauty and the Beast fairytale.
The FMC is a princess who's being forced into a marriage with a man who has ulterior motives.
The MMC is a commoner who has partial visions and has to use his intuition to guide him. One fateful night they are brought together and he realizes she is his "twin flame", or mate if you want to call it that. However her soon to be mother-in-law cannot allow these two to fall in love and she curses the MMC and turns him into a tiger.
I do not want to give out spoilers to the storyline. What I just described is the opening of the book.
For 450 pages I felt like this book moved quite quickly through the story. I would have liked to seen a little more background of the future in-laws point of view to understand why they were doing what they were doing. But there was a lot of ground to cover in the book and I don't think that it caused any gaps per se.
I enjoyed this book and was satisfied with the ending. It left the storyline open for other characters to have their stories told. If Heather continues to write books for this series I will definitely look forward to reading them.

The book is a mixture of fantasy and urban features which I enjoyed. There are handmaidens, magic, and castles but also cellphones, tv, and cars.

Aisling is a princess and Fin is a street urchin but they are also Twin Flames (fated mates). Aisling is supposed to marry her father's evil advisor's son. Fin is cursed to live as a white tiger during the day and man at night.

Aisling's only companion is her handmaiden and best friend, Bunny. I like Bunny, she is supportive but also does her best to keep Aisling safe.

Fin has two found families. A rag tag group of orphans he grew up with (Dontrell, Roisin, Rory, and Egan) who would do anything for him and his forest animal friends (Klaus, Sol, and Piglet) who he meets while in tiger form. Loved both of the found families especially Piglet.

I found the story faced paced. The magic system was interesting, especially how they come into their powers. They seem to first manifest their powers when they hit puberty or when they lose their virginity.

Looking forward to reading more in this urban fantasy fairy tale retelling series.

Thank you Grey's Promotions for this eARC.

First delve into urban fantasy where tech blends with the magical world. Thank you to the author for letting me enjoy her story.

You can’t help but root for Finn. He is the underdog of this story. He has visions but they are always blurry and not complete. His history is revealed a little at a time throughout the storyline. Aisling is the princess whom is being forced into an arranged marriage to Simon, whose mother, Morrigan is evil. Finn and Aisling meet at a gathering at her father’s castle. Finn falls immediately for Aisling.

The story develops as Finn tries to convince Aisling she is his “twin flame” and they should be marrying. When Morrigan sees the bond developing between Finn and Aisling she conjures a cursed spell on Finn and turns him into a white tiger. Aisling realizes after a few encounters that the tiger is Finn. She begins to help Finn to break this curse with the help of his misfit family. He can speak to animals so she gets their assistance also. The animal characters have their own personalities written into the story. Aislings’’ best friend, Bunny has to cover for her to escape the castle many times. She begins to realize she also can speak to animals. With all their help they reveal Morgan’s sinister plot and break the cursed spell. There are many adventures that take place to accomplish this and it keeps you reading to see what comes next throughout the book

This one had such a strong premise and so much potential. The writing style was super easy to read more like a YA, yet it’s mixed with more adult moments, which made the tone feel a bit inconsistent. The cast itself was fun and unique, I genuinely enjoyed spending time with… even if they didn’t always act their age.

Where I struggled most was the world-building. I found myself wanting more depth and history to really understand the setting, as the story seemed to prioritize romance and character dynamics over fully fleshing out the world.

And the romance… marketed as a slow burn, but it definitely didn’t feel that way. Things escalated incredibly fast: confessions, bonding, and intimacy all happened within just a few chapters—while other parts of the story dragged.

Overall, I’m left feeling a little conflicted. There are great ideas here and a premise, but the pacing and writing style just weren’t the right fit for me. I wanted more depth, more tension, and a more drawn-out, satisfying climax. It just not as impactful as I expected. This one wasn't for me.
Thank you to the author for the eARC, this is my honest review.

Her Father chose her husband. Fate chose her mate.

Curse of the Tiger Prince by Heather D. Grace is a wonderful fairytale retelling of a several characters, including my fav Fin. This story has so much of my fav tales involved including two of my favorites like Aladdin and Beauty and The Beast. The story opens with Princess Aisling getting an arranged marriage to Simon, who is the son of the king's advisor, Morrigan. Aisling, of course is less than thrilled with this new development of her own future. She tried to get out of this marriage for the rest of the book in fact, which I do not blame her for;) And then Fin is trying to sneak into the castle and grab something that doesn't belong to him, however he finds Aisling who is his 'twin flame', kind of like a soul mate. But then Fin gets cursed to be a tiger by daytime and at night he becomes a man again, briefly. I love these two, they have undeniable chemistry and the spice in this book is so well written you can not help but want to have more books in the future.
