The Tox Shot: Turning The Tide --- A Post-Apocalyptic Zombie Survival Thriller

Rate this book
They buried the past in the mountains.
Now they’re taking the fight to the shore.

After laying Louis to rest, Joel, Terry, Lisa, Deborah, and Mitchell leave the relative safety of the high country behind and head toward the ocean with one goal in vengeance. What waits beyond the treeline isn’t refuge or hope, but a widening war where the infected move in numbers never seen before and humanity is finally learning how to fight back.

The coast has become a battleground.

As military remnants, armed survivors, and fractured factions converge near the water, the undead are drawn into massive herds by something far worse than instinct. Tanner is still out there. Changed. Evolving. No longer just a weapon, but a force that bends the infected to his will. Where he goes, the dead follow.

This time, survival isn’t about running or hiding.
It’s about formations. Firepower. Hard choices made under open skies and incoming tides.

Beaches turn red. Defensive lines crumble. And every mile closer to the ocean brings the group closer to a final reckoning that will decide whether humanity can still turn the tide, or be drowned by it.

Turning the Tide escalates The Tox Shot series into full-scale zombie warfare, delivering relentless action, military-style combat, massive infected hordes, and the brutal cost of fighting back when the world has already ended.

Perfect for fans of military zombie fiction, post-apocalyptic survival thrillers, and high-stakes end-of-the-world action in the vein of Mark Tufo, Bobby Adair, Nick Clausen, and Michael Robertson.

Turning the Tide is Book 4 of The Tox Shot series and raises the stakes to their breaking point as survival gives way to war.

The Tox Shot: Turning the Tide delivers exactly what fans of military zombie fiction want: bigger battles, higher stakes, and a relentless escalation of the conflict between humanity and the infected.
What makes this installment particularly engaging is its shift from survival-focused storytelling to large-scale warfare. The infected are no longer simply a background threat they have become an organized force capable of overwhelming entire defensive positions. This creates an atmosphere of constant tension where every confrontation feels significant.
The introduction of Tanner as an evolving and increasingly dangerous adversary adds depth to the story's central conflict. Rather than facing a predictable enemy, the survivors are forced to adapt against a threat that continues to change and grow more powerful.
The coastal setting provides a fresh backdrop for the action, with beaches, defensive lines, and open battlegrounds helping to create vivid and cinematic scenes throughout the novel. The military-style tactics, survivor alliances, and hard choices faced by the characters contribute to the sense that this is no longer a fight for survival alone it's a war for the future of humanity.
Fans of post-apocalyptic fiction, zombie warfare, and action-packed survival thrillers will find plenty to enjoy in this fast-paced installment. Turning the Tide successfully raises the stakes for the series while delivering the large-scale action and suspense readers expect from a compelling zombie apocalypse saga.

Most AMAZING series!!!

I don’t even know where to start! And to be honest, it would be extremely hard for me to do like other people and say all sorts of things about the book without actually giving spoilers, so I’m not even going to try! What I will say is this: If you like the zombie genre, you will absolutely love this series! If you’re not sure that you like the zombie genre but are willing to give it a try, you will absolutely love this series! If you totally hate the zombie genre…this series will most probably have you changing from hate to love! I mean, it’s THAT great!!

The only complaint that I have is that I am done with this book, and the next isn’t out yet! I’m going to need this author to start writing a heck of a lot faster…and also to up the pages to at least 500-600!! As it is I read this entire book in two days! I would have finished in one sitting, but I had to cook supper, feed and walk the dogs, etc… I am so excited for the next book in this series!!

Mostly good but marking down for story

This continued the story line as the US wants to take the country back and apparently is starting in NC. I liked this as I live in NC so it made it a little more real. Action was good and insane but in marking down for two things. They still havnt explained what the infected eat to survive and stay strong. They don’t seem to go after animals or vegetation and most of the survivors have been eaten so … no explanation for that and then the pregnant women. Super creepy but just not explained how they feed, what they feed on, what the babies are going to eat as I. The example here the babies wanted human flesh as well? But they don’t have teeth and there arnt enough human left so this part just doesn’t make any sense to me.

Tox Shot 4

The team is running for their lives in Book 4. Too bad they ran Into what's left of the Government. But, are they gonna be safe with them? I feel like they haven't been up close and personal with the zombies to know how to fight them. They think capturing and studying a conductor can teach them something. If the Government needs to use Mitchell, Terry and Joel as consultants, what's their plan? There's helicopters, ships and ammunition but now what? I'm enjoying this series and the characters but what's gonna happen when Tanner shows up? Seems like the team is taking all the risks. I'm ready for Book 5 to see what happens next. Also
