It’s been a long time since I read a book in a few hours and HER ADVANTAGE was it!! I dove jnto this book! I loved the dual POvs between Leonara aka Leo and George, an all-star pro tennis player. The last book I read about tennis was ‘Carrie Soto Is Back’ and despite them being totally different, I felt the pure admiration and love of tennis written in both books.
As an athlete myself it was wonderful being in George’s head, and understanding some of what he went through. Enter Leo and he’s completely head over heels for her! I liked how their relationship started out from misunderstanding and slowly grew into something more. I wish there were more conflict written into the novel, but otherwise, it’s an interesting and ambitious debut filled with spice and longing.
I enjoyed how the MMC was 30, so was the FMC which evened things out between them. The plot was quick and sometimes made me think of those whirlwind romance you see in films. References to classic romcoms like Pretty Woman and Nottinghill were nicely woven into the plot, together with mental health awareness such as anxiety and family issues.
Her Advantage became a five star read to me when George started to realize his struggles and I admired him for standing up for himself and those he cares about. As for Leo’s character development, I liked how she stood up for herself too, guiding George and just being a completely selfless individual.
I wish the ending was longer, and hoped for another epilogue! Overall, I hope there are more books set in this world!

I went into this not caring about tennis at all… and came out fully invested. So that already says a lot.
Setting: surprisingly immersive.
It’s very tennis focused, but never in a way that feels exclusive or hard to follow. You don’t need to know the sport to understand what’s going on, which I really appreciated.
Writing: easy to get into.
Dual first-person POV (Leo & George), which I always love because you’re not left guessing how either of them feel.
It wasn’t completely unputdownable for me, but I was interested the whole time. A steady “I’ll just read one more chapter” kind of book.
Tropes: done right.
There’s a hint of miscommunication and an enemies to lovers vibe.
Normally, miscommunication drives me insane, but this felt balanced. Not overdone, not frustrating, just enough tension.
Characters: strong.
Leo is confident, capable, and not a pushover. Very easy to root for.
George has a lot more depth than you expect, especially emotionally.
Jack? No notes.
Some side characters didn’t hit as hard as I wanted, but overall, a solid cast.
Romance: the highlight.
The chemistry felt real.
Their dynamic had that “love bubble” feeling where you just want to stay in their scenes longer.
Slow burn, but the right kind. Enough tension to keep you hooked without dragging.
Ending: good… just not perfect.
It was satisfying and made sense for the characters, but I wanted a tiny bit more. Something extra to push it into five-star territory.
Quick take:

Leo thinks she knows George, a famous tennis player, based off a brief interaction. From that point on she decides to hate him and no longer watches his games. A year later, the luxury concierge firm Leo works for takes him on as a client. Leo's boss makes her travel to Paris for George's upcoming tournament to address any needs he may have (dining, sightseeing...) and sparks start to fly.
I throughly enjoyed this tennis romance. Slightly spicy, character growth and overall good story.
