Liked the book.

This is a good basic book covering all areas. I did follow a plan similar to this for my first marathon.

Turpinām ar Kindles brīvversijām. Ja jau novilkta, tad jāizlasa, bet, jau iesākot lasīt, ir skaidrs, ka nekas diži interesants nebūs. Grāmata par to, kā trenēties maratonam, bet tā vairāk būtu piemērota iesācējiem. Autors, šķiet, uzskata sevi par absolūtu guru maratonu skriešanā, bet lasītāju - par absolūtu muļķi. Dažos gadījumos tas tā arī varētu būt, bet sevi pie tiem nepieskaitītu.

Taču arī iesācējiem šī grāmata nebūs ideāla, jo skaidrojumi par treniņu specifiku un citām lietām vietām ir visai pavirši uzrakstīti, un liekas, ka tos var saprast tikai tad, ja iepriekš jau ir radies vismaz kāds priekšstats par to, kā kas pareizi jādara. Reizumis tik ātri pārskriets pāri kādai tēmai, tikai uzskaitot galvenos punktus un pilnīgi neko nepaskaidrojot, ka vispār mute paliek vaļā.

Un protams, standarta lietas - piemēroti apavi, stiepšanās, ogļhidrātu uzlāde. Alternatīvas nav pat pieminētas. Bet noslēgsim tomēr uz pozitīvās nots - bija ieteikts ēst arī taukus un izvairīties no cukuru saturošie produktiem :)

An easy read but nothing quite novel on marathon training & tips that haven't been already covered else where. Upsides are that it addresses all levels of runners, have nutrition charts and comes in audio book version too.

Short, quick read. If you've read marathon training book, there isn't much new here, but it does contain some decent tips.
