I want to begin by thanking NetGalley for the ARC of All Bets Are Off in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve been a huge fan of Estelle’s stories since my teenage years. It’s always a pleasure to read her books, and All Bets Are Off has become my favorite adult novel by her.

When I read the synopsis, I wasn’t expecting such a deep and emotional story. I thought I was going to read a fun, lighthearted bachelorette party adventure between friends. I definitely didn’t expect to experience so many emotions or encounter such difficult topics. But the balance between the humor and the heavier moments was perfect, making the story even more beautiful and meaningful.

I really enjoyed having multiple POVs and following the different characters. At first, it can be a little difficult to keep track of everyone, but you quickly get used to it. I loved each of these women. They all have very different personalities, yet they complement each other so well. There were so many hilarious moments, creating exactly the kind of unforgettable Las Vegas adventure you would expect.

This was a brand new to me author but I discovered she was local to me and so I really hoped I liked it and I am pleased to report I did!
The cover screams a fun, girly read, so I was super surprised that almost immediately there were secrets being kept and I wasn't sure what was going on.
The book is told from 3 POVs of the hen party ladies - Addie, the bride to be, her younger sister Evie and her childhood best friend and Maid of Honour Hailey. Three POVs is quite unusual for me to see, but I actually thought it was great to see each of them having their own storyline followed through and I really liked each of the women and wanted things to work out for them.
The author took a chance by introducing a domestic abuse storyline to the character Addie, this really felt like a bit of a shock from what I was expecting from the book, but I felt like it had just the right amount of seeing it in play and the way it was handled when it came out in the open.
Evie's storyline, at first felt wild, the cheating on her exams and being in debt so let's try and rob this guy, but as we saw more of her and Jameson we saw a young woman who was fiercely loyal and loving and a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to show vulnerability.
Hailey was a wonderful character to read about, all of her anxiety and concerns, but she was willing to put that to one side to give her friend an amazing celebration, seeing Theo recognise her vulnerabilities and supporting and uplifting her made him the sweetest of book boyfriends.
The one thing that just annoyed me a bit was that everyone recognised something wasn't right with Addie, but nobody ever asked her about it - now she probably wouldn't have told them if they had, she wasn't ready for that, but for such a close group of gals I just wanted to shake them and say why aren't you recognising that your friend needs you to say something to her about how she seems.
I really enjoyed the book and the writing style, but the characters were all mid-early 20s (except Jameson) and I generally prefer more mature characters these days.
The book was fast-paced and full of fun all the way through. I loved getting to see some of Vegas through the exploration of the joined bach! Each time I picked up the book I was surprised by how much I got through without feeling like much time had past, I told my book club I'd got to page 63 from starting it and when I put the book down that evening I was on page 167! That to me shows a book has been an enjoyable read.
I will definitely look out for more from this author in the future.

I hadn’t picked up a book in months, and somehow Estelle Maskame has done it again…her books are always the solution to getting me out of a reading slump. Her writing is just SO addictive that once I started, I genuinely couldn’t put it down. I literally stayed up until 6:30 AM reading this book. That should tell you everything you need to know. 😭

I absolutely loved the triple POV. Getting to experience the story through different perspectives made everything so much more interesting, and I ended up loving all of the characters so much. The story was entertaining from beginning to end, and I was completely invested the whole time.

And Evelyn and Jameson… I LOVE THEM. 🥹❤️ Their dynamic, their chemistry, everything. I genuinely NEED a book about them because I am NOT ready to let them go. Please, Estelle. I’m begging. 😭

Another Estelle book that reminded me exactly why I love reading her stories so much. After months of not reading, All Bets Are Off was exactly what I needed to get me excited about books again.

Now I just need more Evelyn and Jameson. Please. 🙏🏻

I absolutely loved this!

All Bets Are Off follows Adelaide six weeks before her wedding to Liam, as she heads to Las Vegas for her bachelorette party. Her best friend Hailey has planned the perfect itinerary, but things go quickly off-script when the bachelor party unexpectedly joins them, and Adelaide is faced with a suprise - her ex-boyfriend Connor.

The story is told from the perspectives of Adelaide, Hailey and Adelaide's younger sister Evelyn, and all three are keeping secrets. Adelaide is hiding something about her relationship with Liam, Hailey is on the cusp of landing a publishing deal and Evelyn has a debt hanging over her head.

I loved each of their stories as well as the Las Vegas setting and chaos of the joint bach parties - it really made me feel like I was right there with them. I went into this expecting a light and fluffy romance so I was surprised with the more serious topics woven throughout. They were handled well but also be aware that there is mention of domestic violence.

Usually when a book as a big cast, I can find myself getting a little confused but that wasn't the case here. Every character felt so distinct and completely themselves, and I found myself flying through the pages because it is such an easy and enjoyable read.

This is the second book I have read and enjoyed by this author so she is very quickly becoming a new favourite of mine.

The most perfect book for a summer holiday!

4 women on a bachelorette party in vegas. One budding author, waiting for a publisher to take on her works, one getting married to someone who has a dark side, one owing someone money and risking larceny to get away with it and one along for the ride! And you get 3 POVs.

Adelaide - The bride: AKA the doormat.
I liked her but my god was her inner monologue all over the place. She is marrying Liam, but has history with Liams best friend (& best man) Connor. I found her chapters to be predominantly written for the reader to get to know everyone and the relationships at hand. Good, but not my fave and considering she was supposed to be the bride I felt the most sorry that I didn’t really enjoy her chapters as much.

Hailey - The best friend & maid of honour: AKA the author.
A cute POV. Best friends brother with a mix of “he’s always liked her” & she’s just figuring it out.

Evelyn - The sister & newly 21 yr old: AKA the money problem.
The best POV. Her and Jameson were so fun and the banter/tension was perfect for this story.

I loved the idea of this book and the execution was just so good!!! I wish I had a bit more from their “one year later” stories but ultimately a really good storyline and a clever plot.

I think this is my favourite Estelle book so far. The three different POVs were done brilliantly, it wasn’t too much and it was never difficult to keep track of what was happening with each character. I loved all three characters too so was only ever upset to switch POV when something exciting was happening. If you think you don’t like Addy at the start, just give her a minute!

While I loved Adelaide, Hailey and Evelyn equally, my favourite character was Theo. He weaves through all POVs with being Adelaide and Evelyn’s brother and then he is handcuffed to Hailey for about a third of the book. He made me laugh so much and I loved watching Hailey realise he was no longer just her best friend’s annoying little brother.

I flew through this book with the three intertwining stories and short chapters keeping me fully engrossed. Do I have to wait a full year for another Estelle book again?

What a wonderful read! All Bets Are Off is one of Estelle Maskame’s adult novels and I think she did just brilliant; it was fun, entertaining and lighthearted but also didn’t shy away from more serious topics. In my opinion, it struck a great balance!

All Bets Are Off follows a group of 4 women (Addy who’s the bride to be, Hailey, Evie and Melissa) on a bachelorettes weekend in Vegas. But then turns out the bachelors group is joining them for the week and chaos ensues. Without giving too much away, this book follows 3 women with their own POVs on their own romantic journeys during their stay in Vegas. Melissa played a rather small role in the story, which I was a bit sad about! She was a good character and had a lot more potential than to be just the “mom friend” and not having a POV when the other women did.

Addies story was probably the most tough one to read with her not being very happy on her own bachelorette trip and experiencing a lot of heartbreak. I enjoyed her as a character and watching her stand up for herself. Will not say more on her relationships here but I think it was done well with how it ended (can you tell I am trying my hardest to avoid spoiling this??). Hailey and Theo were my favourites!!! The forced proximity was so perfectly executed by the means of being handcuffed together (in Vegas!), and I loved reading about these two coming together. Evie and Jameson… they made me struggle, and I think it’s mainly because their story felt more random compared to the others and left me wanting a bit more; their relationship felt shallow with them being strangers and not knowing much about each other, and as a consequence, the reader also doesn’t know much about them. I loved having 3 romances and POVs in this book, but it means a slight trade off in depth of the relationships. Which, however, wasn’t really noticeable for Addie and Hailey.

Overall, a fun read, a great plot, a well rounded group of characters and a perfect summer read! Now I also want to go to Vegas!!

When I went into read this I didn’t expect how many emotions would be pulled out of me.

I expected a fun what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas bachelorette party, a fun and exciting story about adventure but what we got was so different and a lot deeper.

We’re given hard issues and characters figuring out how to move on from them. My heart ached for the one going through it and I just wanted to hug them.

I love the way the author balanced out the happy and sad, I’ve loved going on this adventure with these friends.

Although I have to admit I didn’t particularly care for Adeline’s friends or family, they all annoyed me. They were there for her bachelorette party but abandoned her at any possible chance they got, such fantastic people 🙄

BUT I love being able to feel all the feels and it did not in any way change my thoughts on this book it just made me love Addy more.

This was my first read from this author and it’s been interesting, can’t wait to read more from Estelle in the future.

Gotta love a book set in Vegas, and with it being a hen party, which the stags effectively crash, there is plenty of room for chaos and shenanigans.

All the women seem to be hiding things from each other, which leads to some very interesting situations.

Addy the bride to be is not being honest with herself, Hails suddenly needs to work over the weekend while also being dared to be handcuffed to Addy's brother. And Evelyn is determined to win big, or come up with another inventive way to earn a fair amount of cash over the trip.

There is a lot of alcohol involved, but we also get see some of the Vegas sights, including the fountains at the Bellagio.

This is the first time I've experienced this author and I was hooked from start to finish. I was enjoying this so so much, it's just a shame it had to end.

“All Bets Are Off” by Estelle Maskame is a romance novel focusing on the events occurring at Adelaide Sinclair’s bachelorette weekend. She’s going to Las Vegas with her friends (Hailey and Melissa) and her younger sister (Evelyn) but her amazing weekend is crashed and boycotted by her fiancé, Liam, and his bachelor crew, under the guise of uniting their parties. This is not a romantic comedy, but more of a toxic romance, at least part of it. Nonetheless, this book is very fun and I personally think it would make a great beach/pool read.

The novel follows the perspectives of Adelaide, Hailey and Evelyn, and the plot moves easily forward as the events of the bachelorette party occur. Consequently, the plot in itself in simple and linear, the novel being quite straightforward from that perspective.

Adelaide’s character is the stereotypical older sister who shoulders everything on her own without even trying to rely on anyone else. She grew comfortable in her relationship and her future plans with Liam and, despite Liam being horrible to her, she doesn’t have the courage to dismiss him and their relationship. She starts the novel by stating as a matter of fact that she feels no thrill for her life with him, and her character arc focuses on Adelaide finally finding the push to focus on her own person and not on others. She is emboldened to act on his by her former flame and friend, Connor. A relationship with a lot of history and regrets, even after almost a decade, Connor represents an anchor of stability and calm in Adelaide’s life. Adelaide’s arc, along with her relationship with Connor, was on the heavier side, particularly due to her controversial relationship with Liam, but it was delicately and sensibly handled by the author. The resolution was satisfying.

Hailey is a shy and delicate girl who also enjoys writing romance novels — while on the bachelorette she has a deadline coming up, so she splits her time between the party and her writing, aided by Adelaide’s brother Theo, who crashed their weekend as part of Liam’s bachelor crew. Theo has loved Hailey his entire life, and finds an opportunity to get closer to her as part of a daring game — his feelings towards Hailey and how he has been loyal to her all of his life was especially endearing. Hailey and Theo are the sole non-controversial characters of the novel, and their entire arc felt like a breath of fresh air between all the other tense moments.

Last, but definitely not least, Evelyn — a twenty-one year old student in her final year of nursing university, she finds herself in debt due to a fraudulent act. I must say that the lightness with which she treated the situation was not something I was particularly keen of, especially since she is a future nurse, nonetheless such people exist so it was interesting reading her story. I enjoyed Jameson’s character more than hers and, truthfully, I am satisfied with the resolution more because he is the one who deserved a happy ending and not necessarily Evelyn. I wish she had a deeper understanding of her wrongdoings by the end and an actual evolution as a character — she is as shallow at the end as she was at the beginning and it is not an age issue. At twenty-one, she should have known much better.

The prose is quite persuasive in an emotional manner, which suits the theme, and the exposition is vividly done — the description of all settings is so nicely painted that at times it felt like I wasn’t reading a book but watching a movie. The novel is written from a first person perspective and, truthfully, I found that it did not match the more serious tone of the plot and situations. It felt quite puerile compared to the seriousness of the topics. Nonetheless, this is my personal preference, so perhaps others will find that the first person narration helps them relate more to the characters’ situations.

A fun and easy, straightforward read, this book managed to take me out of a reading slump. Very enjoyable! I would recommend this to fans of Sophie Kinsella, Lucy Score and Ana Huang.

Delightfully fun, All Bets Are Off by Estelle Maskame is an adorable summer read.

The novel centres on a bachelorette party in Las Vegas that is unexpectedly hijacked by the groom's stag party... what could possibly go wrong? Told through the alternating perspectives of three women – Adelaide (the bride-to-be), Evelyn (her younger sister) and Hailey (her best friend and maid of honour) – each voice feels distinctive and engaging. Adelaide's narrative perhaps takes a slightly less light-hearted direction than the other two, giving the story a little more variety in tone.

I was especially drawn to Hailey's storyline. She is great fun to spend time with, but her struggle to balance competing priorities also makes her highly relatable. Although the novel is predominantly light-hearted, it gradually introduces more serious themes as the plot unfolds, which helps it stand apart from many others in the genre.

Finally, I can't end without mentioning the Eggslut passages. As someone who loves Eggslut, I will never tire of the place finding its way into my fiction!

J'ai littéralement adoré ma lecture !

La chronologie du livre est super courte (3j) mais très bien rythmée. Tout comme les 3 différents POV, qui s'enchaînent très bien les uns avec les autres.

Dès le début, l'autrice nous embarque dans ce WE de folie.

L'histoire est touchante mais aussi drôle et surprenante. On ne voit pas les pages défiler. L'autrice a vraiment bien su combiner à la fois un récit hyper drôle et avec des scènes loufoques mais aussi, des histoires et des sujets de société plus difficiles.

L'écriture est vraiment belle et fluide. Moi qui la lis depuis des années, on sent à quel point son écriture a évolué au fil du temps.

Ce livre était un pari risqué (la chronologie, les 3 POV) mais c'est réussi ! Elle a réussi à trouver le bon équilibre entre tous les éléments de l'histoire.

Following a group of friends who are off on a bachelorette & bachelor party to Vagas, this book splits between three main characters, siblings Addy and Eve, and best friend Hailey. Each character has a huge range of emotions that they are pushed through this weekend and I can promise it’s good to stick by!
