Serafina

They ruled the mafia.
She ruled them.

Nico is the heir to the Cosa Nostra.
Cold. Controlled. Impossible to ignore.

Luca is his right hand.
Steady. Loyal. The kind of man people follow without question.

And then there's Serafina.

She wasn't supposed to be seen.
She wasn't supposed to be heard.
And she definitely wasn't supposed to end up living with the head of the Cosa Nostra... and his dangerously handsome sons.

But from the moment she crashes into their lives, nothing is the same.

SERAFINA is a spicy why choose mafia romance filled with family loyalty, found family, danger, and the girl who brought the mafia to its knees without even trying.

I enjoyed thid book so much. I was struggling picking a genre this month and so pleased I decided on this. I love why choose and this was a perfect version of it. The fmc really come in to herself and goes from a quiet delicate type to a total badass! I loved the time jump aspect and this really pulls you in to each character and growing a long with them. I can be quite picky with a mafia romance but this one was written so well and featured all of my favorite tropes. Spice, character growth, why choose and plot. nico and luka were written fabulously.

Looking forward to reading more from this author.

wow

Ok I was truly not expecting this. Books with time jumps aren’t really my thing and at first I picked this book up and then put it down when I realised it would be a whole journey from them young to whenever it would jump us too but oh my goodness am I so glad I picked this book back up again. It was truly amazing. It was dark in some places but nothing went too far or over the top which I adored. It really was a coming of age story with the aftermath of falling in love with your best friends, grief when you find it’s ended and the path to redemption. It’s smutty but not overly so, really emotions are the main theme of this story. I do wish there was more smut especially in a mfm sense but honestly I adored this story.

Two ruthless mafia men brought to their knees (literally) by the girl that started as their friend but became everything they didn’t know they needed.

We meet Serafina as a rambling, socially awkward but sweet young girl and watch her transform into the woman that has not only Nico and Luca but all the men in the Mafia family eating out of the palm of her hand. She retains that sweetness and proclivity for rambling but develops a quiet inner strength that is powerful.

Nico, son and heir of Don Rossi, and Luca, his second, are our MMCs and balance each other perfectly. Nico is dark and sharp, Luca is sweet and fun (although still dangerous and fiercely protective).

The book spans a considerable period of time which means it moves along at a nice pace and keeps you engaged with the story. It’s great to see the relationship between Serafina and her men build, develop and change over time. There’s the Mafia related danger, politics and action that I love as well as the focus on the Rossi family and all the bonds within the household.

The spice was spicing, the action had me on the edge of my seat and the found family and banter made me feel right at home. So glad I found Carrie Ward’s books, I’ll definitely be reading more!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was such an addictive read and I really enjoyed it and sped through it in two days. I instantly got caught up in the story and adored all the characters. Nico and Luca are both tough guys but also have such a sweet and caring side which we see when it comes to them looking out for Serafina. It was great to see Serafina’s character grow throughout the book, she’s naïve but not annoyingly so and I enjoyed seeing her find her way in the new life she’s suddenly thrown into. I felt for all the characters and saw where their decisions were coming from as you really get to know them. I also loved the easy banter between them all, and seeing how Serafina brought some light and happiness to everyone in Don Rossi’s household.

This was a gripping read with strong tension and great touch her and 💀 vibes that kept me wanting to read more. I’d definitely recommend reading this if you’re a fan of spicy, character driven mafia romances.❤️‍🔥

Starting a maffia romance, I have to admit this wasn’t entirely what I was expecting. The romance between Serafina and her two men is a lot cuter than I would have expected. They truly love her, they are dedicated to her, and while they make some stupid decisions (they’re still men after all) it all comes from a place of love and care.

For the character building, this standalone focusses more on these people’s hearts and behavior towards people they care about, than what you might expect from a big bad maffia guy. Also, Serafina is their ray of sunshine and she’s definitely different compared to the badass women most books shows with the Don.

And even though this book was different than expected, I still enjoyed it. It might have been a bit too spicy for me, but I’m still happy to have given it a chance.

I loved Serafina. She was delicate and dainty but as the book went on she became a total bad@ss
And Nico and Luca? Where can I get myself a pair of delicious men that dote on me? I loved the touch her and d!e vibes, literally. And how Serafina bought light into their cold, dark world.

The mafia side was great, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some parts I felt were a little empty, there was too little info in places, but overall, the concept of the book was amazing. A few bits to overlook were the grammatical errors, non capital letters when there should have been. But it was easy to gloss over them as the book was lovely. I devoured it whole the kids were in the pool on this gorgeous bank holiday weekend! Perfect read. 💙

My life with the Walter boys meets mafia meets why choose. I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when it started with sera being 14 and the boys being 17,18. As the time jump happened I was like ah yes. I think it was important to start the story when they were young to show the character growth and the relationship growth through time. I thought the conflict was very natural and not contrived as it sometimes can be with mafia romance. The spicy scenes were chefs kiss! Can’t wait to read more Carrie Ward!

Kudos Carrie!

If you love mafia contemporary romance and a strong FMC who doesn't have to choose between the two men she loves then this is for you! You have the story starting when she's 14 and it moves on and once she's 18 it slowly gets spicy. Then it keeps getting spicier. You have found family, friendship to love, mistakes, heartache, trauma, healing, spice and a great HEA that spans years per chapter at the end. Definitely give this a read.

This was my first mafia romance, not something I'd have ever thought I'd enjoy but after connecting with the author on Instagram I wanted to give it a go ... Boy am I glad I did!
I adore the characters and their connections. It's a bit of a coming of age story, with some heart break, some touch her and die, and all of the feels.
I read this in one setting and I dare you to try put it down!

I’m not usually a Mafia girlie, but this was an absolute blast. It’s the kind of book that has you neglecting your "To-Do" list. I was trying to be productive with laundry, but the spicy bits had me hiding my screen from the rest of the house…🫣
The yearning? Unmatched.
The plot? Kept me up until 2am.

Why Choose?!
She stumbles into their world and gets under their skin.

They try to protect her but can't live without her. She is the light in their dark world. FMC goes Sweet to Badass, the characters feel real and the perfect amount of spice and danger. I want to follow the characters. Mafia, friends to lovers, found family, touch her and d*e.

I look forward to her next release!

oh so sweet

This was such a sweet journey to read between these three. The trauma, the heart ache and the sweet devotion made me swoon. It had enough action to keep the pace going and spice that would melt your panties right off! These three had me staying up til well past my bedtime so I could make sure I wouldn't miss a thing.

Serafina is a very cozy read and a great palate cleanser before I dive back into fantasy. Fantasy tends to be my preferred but when I come up for air, Carrie Ward's books are perfect to remind me of "real life". I loved this take on a mafia romance being a why choose!

Good story

This book has a good story, it could use one more editing pass. I also don't love how quick she forgave, but overall the rest of the story makes up for it.

amazing

This was a debut for Carrie and it’s absolutely perfection! I love how human and real the MCs are. Perfectly imperfect making all the errors and having to grovel.
