A victim succumbing to Stockholm Syndrome disguised as feminist rage woman taking her power back story.

Did Hazel even do more than a quick grammar check on this book? It's like she posted her first draft after correct some spelling errors but still let others slip by. My favorite one was naive being spelled "na?ve."

Cade's OCD representation is incredibly irritating because it is so close to being something resembling actually good representation but then just becomes some stereotypical bullshit. Ryker's ADHD is hardly explored and I'm pretty sure Hazel just got forgot about it. Rowan's anxiety is still present but isn't written in a way that would connect well with her previously established lore.

All of the plot twists are so obvious. Truly bare minimum writing.

This book is better than the first one because there is technically less rape, but I'd contribute that to Rowan's Stockholm Syndrome.

Cade's dad is also a wannabe rapist. No surprise there.

Just go look for omegaverse fanfics. They are so much better and free.

Slightly better than the first, still fully subpar.

Please hire an editor.

OCD man screaming trust me all the time but giving her nothing to trust in???
Pretty much the same for each of the interchangeable characters.
They view her as an object, not a person.
She is spineless and boring.
Completely predictable, but without a fun ride to get there.

I absolutely loved it! I really enjoyed the new revelations and that cliffhanger!😍
I'm in love with the way Rowan found to herself and her wolf in this book.
And the way the pack grew even tighter together. 😍 Also- Talon😍 Still my favourite. And the scene with him and Ryker? Damn.

I can't wait for the continuation of their story! I need book three asap😭😍

SO GOOD OMG. Literally these men oh my god. They have me on my knees. They're the typical alphas--dominant, strong, obsessed, everything and anything you could want. The fact they literally risked everything for her? UGH yes. I love how all the MMC's have different personalities, you have the funny one, the quiet one, the strong-headed one, and the leader of the group. You literally have an assortment of men 😍 I need the next one to come out like omg i can't wait. I HIGHLY recommend this it's so good!!!

Ive NEVER written a review before but I feel so strongly about this book. I read the first in the series thinking “surely it’ll get better.” That it’ll become less rapey and utterly disgusting. That the mmcs will have some character development, and show even the smallest of redeeming qualities. But I’d be wrong.

I came into this with a clear view of the trigger warning and am no stranger to books with similar or worse topics. But I have never felt as revolted and filled with utter rage and disgust than I have while reading this book.

In no way shape or form and I sending and hate or negativity to the author herself. To each their own, and if there are people who enjoy reading about unredeemable male main characters, and a spineless female mmc then this is definitely the book and potentially, author for you. I didn’t hate her writing style and the plot was very interesting, but the characters themselves lacked depth and honestly, they lacked human compassion. I understand that it’s a different society, but I physically recoiled at the way these men treated, spoke to and thought about their supposed mate.

There’s nothing wrong with liking a little pain with your pleasure. But these men are cruel and are solely focused on breaking their mate and turning her into a perfect robot who submits to them wholly. A shell of a human; a sexual object which they use and abuse with not regard for her mental well being. Protecting her physical body is one thing, but they have no regard for her mental well being at all. As long as she’s physically okay so they can fuck her, they don’t seem to care at all.

I can go on and on about how disgusted I am with this series. And yes I am fully aware that I could have stopped reading at any point and moved on with my life without leaving a negative review. But as I said, I felt to strongly about how this book made me feel absolutely disgusted. I continued it with the small hope that there would be some change, that everything will come together in the end. But honestly? I don’t think they could ever make it up for their treatment of their “mate.”

Read at your own risk, if you want to become filled with feminine rage and a hatred for any soul who thinks it’s okay to treat your partners this way. I just hope that there aren’t any young people who read this and this that the treatment is in any way okay. It is not the authors responsibility to protect them from their own understanding of what is right, and what is wrong. But I feel like people need to know what they are really signing up for when they pick up this book. The trigger warnings need to be clearer and more honest.

This is NOT a romance. At best it is a horror romance (if that’s even a real thing) it should be classified as such. A fictional horror story.

This is book 2 in a series (I think it'll be a trilogy but it's incomplete as of now). This is a shifter omegaverse set in a dystopian world, lots of political issues and genetic harvesting type things going on.

Also kinda forced mating and forced submission. It's not for those who don't like conditioning/ training by an alpha male, so be aware! While I wouldn't say the guys are trying to snuff out her personality, or take over her life, that's not to say that their mindset is the best nor their practices.

So the plot thickens in this one, especially with the background on what is really going on in the labs and with Rowans samples. The guys are obviously not down and super concerned so they make a plan to protect her and ultimately choose her despite all their conditioning to serve the government. That's not to say it isn't a bumpy ride, there are many a close call, and I was quite intrigued by all the plot twists! I did want there to be more to the book though, it felt like some scenes ended earlier than I would have liked, I wanted to get more out of her connections and relationships between each guy. But they still did make strides from the first book to this one!

The spice! This is a faster burn due to the sexual nature of their conditioning practices. They use punishments, such as shibari, sitting on rice, spanking, and edging. There are scenes with just her one on one with each guy as well as multiple of them at once. Killian does not like to share very much so he mostly shares with his brother, Ryker and Talon of course are happy to tag team. There is MM in this one too! There is knotting, in her mouth, as well as during DP, and her heat and marking during her heat.

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Training Flame by Hazel Paige 🔥

Book two picks up exactly where we left off… IN CHAOS.

Rowan has officially claimed her power—and now she actually has the backbone to back up that bite (woof 🐺). After attempting to run away, she’s forced to deal with the consequences… and the very angsty alphas who feel more than a little betrayed.

The punishments?
Tragic.
Devastating.
Oh no… not another punishment… (hehe).

As the pack uncovers hidden truths about their omega, they’re forced to make an impossible choice: Rowan—or their lives as soldiers of New Arca. The stakes are higher, the tension is thicker, and the bonds between them are tested in all the best (and worst) ways.

This ending wasn’t quite as cliffhanger-y as book one. We’re still dangling over the edge with a few “hmm…” and “now what?!” moments—but it’s a manageable spiral this time.

I need book three immediately to wrap up this wild, chaotic, dystopian omegaverse ride.

Also… I require more Ryker and Talon scenes because the energy? Immaculate. The banter? Elite. The “yes, daddy” vibes? Off the charts.

“I hate you,” I groaned as my stinging backside met the wooden chair.

“I love when you talk dirty to me,” Ryker said with that infuriating grin. “Say it again. Tell me you hate me, Kitten.”

Ryker’s mouth is still undefeated. 😌🔥

This series has had my heart from the start, but we really needed more pages in this book. It was such a short book that it left a few gaps.

Everything felt slightly rushed and I feel like if instead of separating them into two books, the author had made it into 1 bigger book, it would've given her more room to develop the character's relationships with Rowan a bit more and give more space to introduce new pieces of story starting on the 2nd book.

I love most of the characters, but can't seem to empathize with Cade since most of the time, he's being a dick just for the sake of being a dick and calling it "keeping her safe". If their relationship had been explored more, I feel like it would've been easier to connect with him and fall in love with his complex character like the others.

Besides, the book basically revolves around her training, but the whole thing it's a little off because, despite being a shifter, she's not like Talon, so it doesn't really make sense that in such a short period of time she'd manage to control her wolf in the same way he did when Talon took years to manage control of his own.

Really great book, super entertaining, it just needed a little more room for development.

So I was hoping for a little more character development however we just don't get this.

Rowan is now a shifter and we have found out her father was not her real father he was a scientist that was experimenting on her mother then kind of fell in love with her and rescued Rowan. They are after Rowan and know what she is.

Rowan is an omega who has been hiding since birth her father managed to pass her off an a beta and she has been taking suppressants and living on her own. In this world omega's are few and far between and they are taken at birth to basically become slaves to alphas it sounds like.

All of the MMC's Cade, Killian, Ryker and Tally just seem to want to control Rowan and are not particularly interested in her as a person just as long as she is compliant.

Forcing Rowan out of her heat via pain was not great to be honest as she was already stressed about the situation and she was forced to trust them when they have hardly shown her any reason too. I get they were on the run but it just didn't feel very safe.

They have managed to get to the shifter group and I am assuming the leader is Rowan's real father. Also Cade and Killian's father is trying to become a shifter via the Dr's experiments.

Good golly, the way this series has me in a GD chokehold is diabolical! I haven't been invested in a series like this in so long!
Book 2 picks up right where book 1 leaves us and continues with Rowen and her pack's adventure.
As I don't want to give away too much, all I want to say is that this story gives me all the feels and all the vibes and has kept me hooked from the get-go!
I love the characters and the dystopian world the author has created. The dialog is witty and fun, and the story/plot is serious but not too serious. Deep, but not so much that you feel like you're sinking and have to stay a float (if that makes sense). It's adventurous and suspenseful while keeping it fun and fast-paced!
The science/military/experimentation vibes are right up my ally and add alot to the plot and story you don't normally find in omegaverse (in my experience, though I'm relatively new to the genre)
This series is the perfect mix of plot, spice (the MM teasing is about to ☠️ ME!), dialog, and excitement!
My only complaint is that I have to wait til book 3 comes out to find out what happens next 😭
12/10 recommend!!
Do KNOT wait to pick this one up, Y'all!
Go check it out RIGHT NOWWW!

I cannot believe I read this so fast… and I regret it. I immediately wanted to reread it because I didn’t want to rush through my feelings. I think I’ve fallen more in love with this series than I ever expected. I am officially craving Book 3.
More is revealed. More secrets unfold.
Rowan faces the consequences of running, even after shifting, and we begin to uncover the truth about her mother and her origins. Cade truly steps into his leadership here. Talon, or “Tally” as Ryker calls him, may be an equal alpha, but Cade is the leader of the pack.
I love the dynamics between them all. Rowan shares a rare, unbreakable bond with Talon, yet there’s no jealousy. She isn’t threatened by Ryker and Talon’s relationship, just as Ryker isn’t threatened by Talon’s connection with Rowan. That emotional maturity is everything.
Killian is still healing. His forgiveness comes slower, shaped by his own trauma. But as they move beyond the shackles of Arca, one thing is clear.
Rowan is the heart of the pack. ❤️‍🔥
I need this series to take off. It deserves it.

This was definitely a step up from book one. More plot, more movement, more to actually sink my teeth into.
I’m really enjoying watching Rowan’s relationships with the Alphas evolve… slowly. Painfully slowly.
And yeah, the book was short. I needed more. More tension, more development, more actual emotional payoff.
Because let’s be honest…the guys were still pretty fucking insufferable for most of it. They genuinely pissed me off more than once.
But… I’ll give them this, they finally started to come around by the end. Killian? Still the best. No competition. 🖤
The plot is getting genuinely interesting now, especially with the added bits about her family and origin.
But I’m still struggling with the tone… it leans a bit too childish at times, which kind of pulls me out of it.
I will be continuing though, especially for the wolf shifters 👀🐺

Omegaverse.
Shifters.
Military.
Sexy Punishments.

And so many secrets.

Rowan. Sweet, defiant Rowan.
Her and her packs story starts off right where we left them in book one.

Her men are.. so good.

The rigid but caring, pack Alpha.
The damaged only soft for her cinnamon roll.
The flirt, with allllll the humor.
And then the shifter… beautiful shifter.

A lot of familiar themes. Gaining trust, learning yourself, conquering your fears. And the spice… 🌶️

This has some really fun twists, and the cliffhanger?! Stawwppp it.

I read the first book of this series at the beginning of January, and I have been desperately waiting for the second book. All I can say is that it didn’t disappoint. I love the character development and the way the bonds of the characters have strengthened. The plot kept me on my toes, and the spicy scenes were just enough. Honestly, this was a great book, and I can’t wait for the next one! (Also, Talon and Ryker? Chef’s kiss!)

Four stars! Significantly better than the first one! Completely got over the rapey parts and actually turned into a good romance. And this one actually had a plot! The first book was pretty much purely smut with no story/character building. But this one has way more story! And the plot is getting so interesting! I’m so bummed I’m going to have to wait for the next book but so glad it’s getting good.

Is it getting hot in here? 🔥 That was a SPICY good time. I’m enjoying watching Rowan’s relationships with the Alphas grow. The plot was plotting in this book 👏 A bit predictable but it made sense for the storyline. I’m glad we got to learn more about her family and origin. Really looking forward to the wolf shifters! 🐺 That ending? Holy cliffhanger! 😮 Also, RYKER and TALON 🔥🥵 LFG

Hooked

I read the first book and was hooked by the story, but the MMCs not so much. Now the story is getting better, but Cade definitely it’s the most insufferable MMC I have read! Just the pure expectation of obedience and constant threat of punishment for breathing not the way he ordered is quite off putting. But the other guys are compensating for him !

I just finished reading these two books, and let me tell you…neither one of those men loved her. If anything, they straight up hated her, treated her more like a sex object than an actual human being and did her dirt at every turn!
No chemistry, no sweet confessions, nothing!!. You can't tell me this toxic circus is a romance novel.
