I read this for a class in Greek Art and Archaeology. It's filled with photos (primarily black-and-white) of artifacts from the Aegean Bronze Age and covers the Helladic Region, the Cycladic Region, and the Minoan Region.

I found the book informative, but it was rather dry reading, which I suppose is appropriate for a book primarily used as a text. At the end of each chapter is a reading list that I will undoubtedly check out in the future.

This is an appropriate and well-researched introduction to Aegean art. I read this as a required text in Art and Architecture of the Greek Bronze Age, a college Art History course. Thoough this book was good, I felt that the other required text, Aegean Art and Architecture, was better.

(sometimes with ratings I have difficulty with books for classes. I would give this 4 stars for actual quality, 3 stars for how much I personally liked it.)
