Whispers of Discovery

Rate this book
Cathleen Brady has spent years hiding who she really is, from her overbearing mother, her tight-knit family, and most of all, from herself. But when she locks eyes with Franki Thompson at a local gay bar, everything she's been denying ignites into undeniable truth.

Franki knows heartbreak. An accident stole her Olympic dreams, and her ex-girlfriend stole her dignity. Coaching high school hockey in small-town New Hampshire wasn't the life she imagined, but it's safe. Until Cat walks into her world with pink-streaked hair, an infectious smile, and a trust fund that terrifies Franki more than any opponent on the ice.

Their connection is electric, their passion undeniable. But when Cat's wealth becomes a wedge between them and a bullying scandal rocks Franki's team, both women must decide what they're willing to fight for. Cat's determined to use her privilege for good, even if it costs her everything. Franki's learned the hard way that love isn't enough when power is unequal.

Can two women from different worlds build something real? Or will their fears destroy what they've only just begun to create?

Whispers of Discovery is a sapphic romance about finding yourself, fighting for what's right, and learning that true partnership means meeting as equals, no matter what your bank account says.

Whispers of Discovery is book nine in the Whispers of New England series. This final book delves into Cat Brady’s love life.

Cat’s life is in shambles as her girlfriend has ended their relationship. Soon after, she meets Franki at a gay bar and instantly falls for her.

Sue beautifully captures Cat’s and Franki’s raw feelings about the challenges with their love life. This is a heartwarming book that is hard to put down and can easily be read in one sitting.

Looking forward to reading new books/series from Sue as her books are five star reads and are addicting. It would be amazing to see these books in a Netflix series.

This book is so good!!! Sue always does an amazing job with her books.

I love that cat got her own book and that she comes out to a few of her family and friends, but she still had to come out to her parents and she finally does when she meets a girl named Frankie who is a hockey player. She meets her at a bar and Frankie was only looking for a one night stand after her long term relationship ended. Cat was drunk and Frankie knew she was but she liked car a lot and just sat there and talked with her they did kiss and car did tell her she had just came out to herself. They end up working at the same school together and Frankie tries to ignore her until a teacher work shop goes on and they really start talking and then Frankie finds out she has money and lots of it and her last relationship was where her ex had money and paid for everything, Frankie let her become she was so in love with her and then it bites her in butt in the end, so Frankie decided that she wouldn't date anyone with money again or so she thought! I don't want to go into to much detail because I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

Another awesome book in the Whispers series. I love how the author dives into each of the characters and really makes us love them, even ones we didn't care for as much at the start of the series. But I'm sad that the series is finishing.
