I got this for free on Amazon

Things are not going well with Christina/Tina's and her husband for 5 years, John. She assumes that he's having an affair because they don't spend a quality time as a couple and he spends most of his time out of the house with his friends (which is always his reason). To vent out, she and her friends went to a bar and she met a guy. His name was Brett, who happens to be a musician and the owner of the bar.

Brett is undeniably good looking and she found comfort in him. However, having an affair with him isn't right and unfair. But with her unhappy marriage? she's on the verge to do it.

As a couple, communication is very important and these characters lacked of it. I assume John is depressed here but he's not paying attention with his wife and seek out for help. I cannot blame Tina for leaving him BUT CHEATING ON HIM IS NOT A SOLUTION. The idea really irked me. I have so many questions unanswered on some parts, especially with John. d I just wish this novella at least has a glimpse of that so it will be more convincing. For sure, there's more story behind it.

The writing style is okay but the plot is messed up and the characters are bland. Sorry, this novella is not for me.

This review is of “The Other Man”, book 1 in the “Chasing Love” series by Nancy Adams.

The Story: The book begins with an introduction to the female lead, Christina, hereafter called Tina.(No surname given.) Tina is a puzzle maker married to a man named John, whom Tina strongly believes is unfaithful to her; he claims he’s “out with the guys”.

Later, Tina commiserates with her friends at a nightclub, Club 2111. There, she meets the owner of the club, Brett-also no surname-who is also a musician. At the end of the book, Tina discovers she’s pregnant, but the identity of the father is not revealed; that may be revealed in later books in the series.

This is not a terrible novella, and I give Ms. Adams credit for writing it, but it is not a great or even good book either. The issues I have with “The Other Man”:

1. No surnames for characters. I do realize this is nitpicking, but it’s important to me.

2. Typos. A good word processing program should have found these and corrected them.

3. One-Sided. The book is told entirely from Tina’s point of view, and I didn’t find Tina the type of character to engender the type of sympathy Ms. Adams may have been trying to gain for her.

4. Lack of Depth. I understand this is a novella-80 pages-and it’s hard to provide depth in such a short period of time, but with the slight exception of Tina, I felt the characters lacked depth.

Sex: None, although Tina and Brett kiss.

Violence: None, although John yells at Tina near the end of the book.

Bottom Line: The purpose of the first book in a series/related books, in my opinion, is to inspire the reader to buy/read the remaining books in the series. I seriously doubt I’ll be reading the other books in the series, unless they become available as free books, because Ms. Adams didn’t inspire me to care about these characters.

Tina is having trouble with her marriage. Then she meets an alluring man and starts to develop feelings of attraction for him.

This was a subtle, clean romance. Okay, but too short. And there’s a cliffhanger.

Short and hard to put down

Interesting story! It is a story of a couple that's drifting apart. I read this book in one sitting. It is short and quite easy to read. It lulls you in right from the start. I hope to read the next book in the series. I so far love the story.

I couldn’t even finish this book.

The first few sentences seemed promising, but the more I read, the worse it got. The dialogue was mundane and the writing amateurish. One minute the heroine is pining for her husband, and the next – literally- she’s attracted to the stranger who remembers her from what I can only describe as a puzzle convention. Really?

Taking her that quickly killed the story for me. It made her heartbreak insincere, which makes the plot obsolete. There was no taking it day-by-day, no growth – just one minute she’s in angst and the next she’s attracted to the stranger to the point her body is reacting. I just couldn’t get with this, even with a novella.

This is pretty much all I can say. By page twenty I was done.

Cheating cheater who cheats.

I don't care how unhappy you are, you need to move on from the first relationship before moving on to the next. Just divorce him and move on please.

The writing here is fine, but this story is not what I thought it would be. I was expecting her husband to be some horrific man; instead he's depressed and unhappy (so far) which doesn't necessarily scream hate to me. While this chick is clearly unhappy as well, the solution isn't pursuing another man, even if he's okay with seeing an unhappy yet married woman. good lord.

When Christian went to the doctors because she kept feeling dizzy and nauseous and because she puked the morning. She told the doctor that and he told her to stay another twenty minutes becqause they were gonna to an ultra sound on her to see if she was pregnant or not and she did. Then when the did the ultrasound they said she was pregnent and was about on her second seamster of being pregnant.

I love romance books they make me happy. My family would recommended me this and my rating is five stars cause its interesting amazing sad loveable and caring at the same time

It was okay

I don't know. I just could not feel the passion. This book was not for me. It's about a girl who is married and developed a relationship outside marriage. But the girl in this book was kind of boring. Ehh... The writing was good. She may annoyed me a little. Not for me.

Good

Christina (Tin) was married but her husband didn't pay attention to her for several months. She was getting upset her friends told her to get out of the marriage. She didn't look on purpose. See what happens.

Omg

It's so sad that John ignored her and made her feel so bad. It's horrible when women try so hard for their husbands to notice them and they don't succeed except to push there spouseTo somebody else's arms and
Of that she's pregnant just be devastating

I enjoyed this book

I'm not used to reading books like this, so it was good to get out of my comfort zone. I enjoyed reading this book. It's always a good sign when I don't want to stop reading. I would have finished this book in a day if I didn't need sleep.

It was okay however I don't feel like I care what happens next, which is not a good sign. I won't bother with the next book.
