So very boring for so many pages

The first 180 or so pages were testing my patience. Considering the book is only 270 odd pages, that is a terrible imbalance.

There is very little world building. Packs exist but somehow it's not normal for relationships to encompass the pack..... But it seems to be common considering Hazel's past experiences and friend's experience. It doesn't make sense.

The characters are like paper dolls - very sparsely written, pretty but no real depth. Hazel is just a terrified mess for no real reason. She dated a couple of duds and tossed them to the side without any traumatic experience but somehow this left her scared of everyone. Luka is a pancake; flipping back and forth, incapable of decision making despite being the pack leader. He's closed off, willing to risk everything he loves to impress someone he dislikes? Daddy issues are not attractive. Bryson is fine. Safe. Nice. Bland. Nothing about him stands out. Andy and Rory are just obnoxious. They're minor side characters the author decided to shoehorn in so she could claim this is an RH omegaverse. It's literally page 200 before Luka, Andy and Rory begin any movement toward relationship building.

The story is BORING. Chick gets a work assignment, ice bros think she's pretty, tons of melodramatic whining and terror spews, and apparently hockey happened. Boom, pack. There is zero humor, the smut is just messy and inauthentic, the romance is non-existent and the nurse being too stupid for family planning is an insult to the profession.

It's okish

Spoiler 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Alright I got some issues, formate is weird middle of the page starting a new chapter. Not sure if the physical book is like that but the kindle version is. it's not really a slow burn romance book , more of a 2 have issues and at 85% the fmc gets it together and goes after what she wants. The other 3 are along for the ride. Before that it's yearning. Then time jump 3 months of dating, more yearning . Author mentions bonding through bite marks but when she joins the pack she doesn't get a bite mark but still gets a bond. She goes from 6 week pregnant to 8 weeks with a few sentences. Advertisement quotes that had me wanting to read this book never actually happened. If you're from tiktok the whole "she taken and not talking about himself" scenario never happens also they all don't walk her to her car calling it pack protocol. And these are quotes from the author page itself. It just seems very rushed and really the author might want to slow down get a few more arc readers that will be honest and point this out. The author doesn't have a email account accessible . so this is the only way to address issues. I'm sorry it had to be public, I would have emailed all this .

Super cute!

Sometimes you just need a sweet omegaverse with not much drama and a pack who adores the omega. And that’s what happens here.

She’s a nurse who ends up placed with a hockey team (not by choice) but right before, has an amazing one-night stand. Only to find out he’s on the team! As is the rest of the pack!

The guys are always respectful - she just hesitates because of her previous experiences.

The one thing that was odd (kinda spoiler here but not really since we all know it’s HEA and everyone always bonds) is in the bonding with her, there were no bites. Just the physical activity. But I’m confused because the guys were bonded (could feel each other’s emotions) but there was no MM. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Weird.

Not really romance

This was really well written, so it was very disappointing that the author chose to skip over the falling in love part of the romance. They decided to date and voila, it’s four months later.

It felt like a story about the FMC and her fears of being in a relationship than a story about creating relationships between the characters.

I would read another book by this author but wouldn’t if the next one is similar in that the actual love part is just time-jumped. The story was short enough that there was sooooo much room to expand on those four missing months.

3.5 ⭐️

Omega-verse and hockey romance all wrapped up into one… count me in! This was a good, fast paced read. Really enjoyed Hazel’s journey with taking over coming her aversion to alphas and taking a chance on what was building with her pack to be!

cute

Quick easy read, well written, good little story but not plot heavy and a fair amount of spice that worked well in the story. Would give it a 4.5.

It was cute. Could have been more developed regarding relationships between all the characters
