What happens when the youngest, most successful coach in the NHL comes face-to-face with the woman he never got over — only to find out she’s married to his new General Manager?
Everything I’ve spent my life building is suddenly at risk.
I loved Ariana Ridley long before the world knew my name. Before the NHL. Before the pressure of being one of the youngest coaches in the league. Before I learned how to survive by locking my heart down tight.
Leaving her was the hardest thing I’ve ever done — and the one choice I never made peace with.
Now she’s back. And she belongs to another man.
My new General Manager.
I tell myself I can handle it. Discipline is my job. Control is my strength. I know how to keep my distance — how to respect the lines that should never be crossed.
But every glance drags the past to the surface. Every quiet moment reminds me the love I buried never died.
I see the cracks she tries to hide, the fear she’s learned to live with, and the way she still looks at me like I’m the one place she can breathe.
I want to protect her. I want to fight for her. And I want things I have no right to want.
Because if I cross that line, I don’t just risk my career — I risk shattering the woman I never stopped loving.
Some choices haunt us forever. Some loves never let go.
And trying to right my wrongs might just ruin us both.
Kandi Steiner is a USA Today and #1 Amazon Bestselling Author living in Tennessee. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.
An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. Her love for writing started at the ripe age of 10, and in 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.”
She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a hopeless romantic and found herself bursting at the seams with love stories she was eager to tell.
When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, planning her next adventure, or pole dancing (yes, you read that right). She enjoys live music, traveling, hiking, yoga, spending quality time with her family (fur babies included) and soaking up the sweetness of life.
oh i am so emotional and in disbelief that we are officially saying goodbye to this series and the tampa bay osprey!!! as someone who lives in tampa and drives past our arena and down bayshore every morning for work. a girl who loves her tampa bay lightning to death and getting to live in this series drawing so many connections and beloved tampa areas has just been everything and without a doubt this series helped me fall back in love with living in my city!
this series has meant the world to me and more. it has been a comforting hug at so many different points in my life, i mean i cut eight inches off of my hair after reading daddy p and chloe’s book because i just resonated with her and her story so much (i am a hair holds trauma truther) and the same could be said for all of the women through out this series! every woman has meant something so special to me and helped me grow past something that felt insurmountable.
every book in this series has been the easiest five stars for me (i own three different editions of each book thats how serious this is for me LOL). so picking a favorite book, couple or character is next to impossible for me but i truly couldnt think of a more perfect and beautiful way to have closed out this series than with ariana & shane!!! i am in AWE always of Kandi but most specifically how she is constantly reformulating different ways to tell a love story and how she was able to breath life into and bring a refreshing aura to hockey romances for me again.
this book is very different than the typical love story, it is hard fought and eventually won. it is a SLOW burn that is extremely forbidden but has all of the right elements even if this type of romance isnt typically your jam to have you rooting for them in this fight their going through and screaming to the void for them to make it through in tact!! shane would do anything and everything (and he does!!!) to make sure ariana is safe no matter the cost, whether she takes him back or not, no strings attached he will be burning down the world to make sure his first and only love is okay, safe and happy 😭 PLEASE check the TW and protect your peace and safety, take care of yourself before diving into this one as it handles a lot of very sensitive topics 🫶🏼.
this is one of those reviews where im gonna throw out a “just trust me bro” and dont want to give too many details about what goes on in this book as i feel it is much better to go into it a little blind. this book is going to make you feel all the feelings, frustrated & often times angry, protective, HAPPY, fear, tearing up/crying, maybe even wanting to commit crimes against fictional people?
also, the underlying plot of it all outside of the romance? SO INTRIGUING. i thought that this plot was extremely interesting to follow along and i was constantly on the edge of my seat wanting to see how everything played out. it gave me such bad anxiety during the climax of it all in the best of ways.
this book was just phenomenal in every possible way. kandi TRULY out did herself with this one. while i may be devastated to leave the kings of the ice behind i am beyond excited to see whats next for kandi and what amazing things she will come up with!!!
I’ve enjoyed every book in Kandi Steiner’s ‘Kings of the Ice’ series, and this one was no exception! I would say it was my favorite, but Daddy P’s book still holds that top spot. Either way, this was a very close second! I love a second-chance/forbidden-romance story. Kandi does the angst and tension so so well!
Ari and Shane were college sweethearts, but life happened, and they ended up going their separate ways. Shane’s hockey career ended due to an injury, but he’s been coaching professional hockey ever since. And Ari ended up married to the new General Manager of his team. Yikes, am I right?
As much as I loved Shane, this one made me a little nervous at the start. I really don’t love romance books where one of the characters is married. But the more I read, the more I could see the why, and it ended up working for me. My heart broke for Ari and the cycle she found herself stuck in. I’m so grateful that it’s something I’ve never experienced, but knowing people who have… It’s hard.
I was so thrilled that Ari healed and found her happy. I loved the relationship she had with her brother, and also how the girls from the previous books took her under their wing. This book was fantastic. Full of heartache, but also hope—angst, but sweetness as well. As much as I’m sad this series is over, it ended on such a high!
Probably my favorite of the series. Which is wild because second chance is rarely my favorite. But this one actually made some logical sense. The reasoning, and history, while painful seemed reasonable in my mind.
Doesn’t hurt that I’m at the age where I’m looking at the coaches over the players 🤣
Shane & Ariana NHL Coach x GMs wife 🤭 Cue the forbidden College sweethearts/ first loves Second chance Older MCs
Ariana: the backstory and the present situation Kandi Steiner gave her…dear god. Emotional damage. But I love chaos and trauma filled healing. Little bit of danger in there as well.
Shane: the NHLs youngest couch, career shattering injury as a player. It’s always been you vibes. And man was he obsessed. Playing the long game for sure. Slow burn.
The plot was plotting. I don’t want to give any details away. So I’m gonna stop there. Whispers “corruption”
The found family, the girl gang, the team razzing. It was good to see everyone one last time
What a way to end this series 🥺 You can really feel how much emotion and depth Kandi poured into this story. This isn’t your typical sports romance, and it does touch on some heavy triggers—there were moments where my chest literally felt tight while reading.
Without giving too much away, the story follows two people who were deeply in love when they were young, only to be separated for 20 years. When they reconnect, the FMC is now married to another man… who is absolutely despicable. Watching Arianna and Sean try to find their way back to each other after all that time was honestly so sweet and emotional.
The reason this isn’t quite a 5-star read for me is because I wish we’d seen a bit more romantic connection between them in the present timeline. A lot of their relationship relies on their past to convince us they’re soulmates, and I would have loved to see more of that chemistry rebuilt on the page.
That said, I still really enjoyed this book, and I appreciated how certain heavy topics were handled. It was emotional, heartfelt, and a really touching way to close out the series 🥺
Kandi absolutely hit this one out of the park. I mean, I cried at the end in public on vacation!
It's always hard to read the end of a book series. You feel connected to the characters and their stories, and take away so much from their character development and growth. So while it is bittersweet for the Kings of the Ice series to be ending, I think it's ending on the perfect note with Coach Shane and Ari's story.
Beautifully written in a dual timeline, the story weaves together the past and present through flashbacks and current events. The emotional rollercoaster with these characters is a wild ride, running the gamut from sorrow, regret, jealousy, hate, pain, fear, and ultimately, love. The story contains themes of domestic violence, emotional abuse, and coercive control. Additionally there is infidelity, so it is definitely important to be aware of all of this challenging content, but it's written in a way that is not gratuitous and handled with significant care.
What I took away most from the story is not even the live story, but the magnitude and importance of found family throughout the book. Each character comes into these familial relationships at different times for so many important reasons. The moment when all the group's women fiercely swoop in to protect Ari is a truly special moment that may be one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
Truly, this book was phenomenal. I read it with a pit in my stomach, going through the emotions with the characters, and I came away from it feeling absolutely wrecked, but in the best way. It's an absolute must for your TBR!
Thank you Kandi Steiner for the advanced reader copy.
I will start with what I liked, and it’s the same thing I always like in Kandi’s books. They are READABLE. I can easily read her books in a couple sittings, I always want to know how they end!
And that’s where my likes stop. The set up for this was so so good so why did it play out so so badly? The reason for them ending things the first time around made so much sense. I was ready to see how they would get together the second time when she showed up on his GMs arm.. and yet she is married QUITE LITERALLY for 95% of the book. At 60% they kissed, at 70% they had sex. This could have played out so differently.
The slow build of Ari realizing she was in an abusive relationship was written very well but she also turned into a complete dumbass out of no where. She was so self aware and unpacking the complexities of her relationship and then BAM Shane said “I have a plan” and she suddenly has nothing but elevator music between her ears. Nathan became physically violent when he grabbed her wrist and as someone who was raised in an abusive home that could have been her “oh fuck” moment but it was not. She went from needing Nathan to needing Shane. I hated the way she became unbelievably meek after that scene. I am not victim blaming and I understand the way abuse is a slow build and you can’t see clearly when you’re in it. But I’m baffled by the plot choices for Shane to white knight the last 30% of the book.
There is an entire chapter after they take down Nathan of Shane mansplaining grooming (Ari has a masters degree in sociology), internal investigations, divorce (he’s never even been married).. it’s a literal info dumb under the guise of Ari using him as her personal Google. She has a MASTERS degree, she is not dumb, so why does she suddenly know nothing??? I’m so confused by the direction that Ari’s character arc took.
Shane is the most in tune MMC ever. He misses nothing with his eagle eyes! I swear the amount of times it was stated “no one else would notice but I did” by him was astounding. And not just when it comes to Ari but with everything. He’s the only one that picked up on Nathan’s coercion among the team? I’m not buying that. He was giving jimmy neutron brain blast energy every time he clocked something that no one else did.
But ya know what? Thank god she didn’t end up pregnant, I would have thrown my kindle.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I don’t think I have the words for how much this book affected me.
This isn’t just a romance, it’s a deeply emotional story about survival, healing, and finding your way back to yourself. The portrayal of domestic violence feels raw and honest, handled with so much care and empathy. Ariana’s journey captures that complexity so well, especially how hard it is to leave and how deeply manipulation can take hold. Even with that heaviness, the story still makes space for warmth, humor, and a found family that feels like a safe place to land.
The second-chance romance between Ariana and Shane completely pulled me in. Their shared history, the time apart, and the complicated position they find themselves in creates a quiet, constant ache that lingers throughout. It’s messy, but it feels real and earned. The dual timeline adds another layer of depth, making every moment between them more meaningful. And beyond the romance, it’s the relationships around them that stand out the most. The way the women show up for Ariana, supporting and protecting her, is one of the most powerful parts of the story.
By the end, I felt completely wrung out in the best way. This book balances heartbreak and hope so beautifully, delivering a conclusion that feels both satisfying and deeply emotional. It’s a perfect ending to the series and one of the most impactful stories I’ve read.
I finished this feeling emotional, grateful, and quietly hopeful.

Huge thank you to Kandi Steiner & Valentine PR for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨
there is just something about Kandi’s writing that will do it for me every. single. time.!!!!! this book can be read as a standalone, but i think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I would’ve read the full series… fomo kicked in throughout the book when some parts would’ve hit harder if I had a little back story 🥲
some of my fav quotes: I absolutely LOST it when Shane said “I wonder what’s the same. I wonder what’s changed.” UMMMM IKTR 🤸🏽♀️🤭🙇🏽♀️🫨🧎🏽♀️➡️
“Why are you here?” “By chance” 😭😭
“You are embedded in me like the code that makes me operate. You were then. You still now are.” Alright, wrap it up. 🤧🤧
“Home is what we make it. My house. Your house. A new house altogether—it doesn’t matter. Wherever you are, that’s where home is for me.” STOP
I was lucky enough to get an Arc of this book. I love this series so I was already excited to dive into coaches book. And I wasn't disappointed! This book was everything, the pain, the heartbreak and the healing was done perfectly. The manipulation in this book had me screaming and wanted to jump in and help. But the beauty of second chance love was how amazing it all came together. I was routing for them throughout. The sensitive themes throughout were done perfectly and although it ripped me apart, I was also put back together again. I am so excited for this book to come out and for others to read it! Kandi strikes again with another knock out book 🥰
5 stars! Thank you Kandi for the ARC, what a blessing! I’m so sad it’s over but that was the perfect book to end the series on. I was hooked from the start, coach and Ari share such a special bond and I loved how coach could read Ari just with one look at her 🥹 I love a book that can pull every emotion from me and this one DELIVERED. I can’t wait to read Love Overboard and what ever comes next from Kandi 🫶🏼
Wow! I knew this was going to be a heavy one based on the trigger warnings and please take them seriously before you read. With that being said, while it was heavy it was also incredibly moving and healing. As a Kandi stan, one of my favorite things is the care and attention she puts in to each and everyone of her books especially when she is dealing with a storyline involving trauma. This story is no exception. I am a huge second chance girlie and it was done so well especially adding in the forbidden element into their romance. I also enjoyed how well this wrapped up the series and while I'm sad it's over I thought it was incredibly well done.
This was a solid 4 stars for me! This was so different than the other books I have read in this series. While the others were heavy steam with a budding romance, these two were soulmates that had been put in an unthinkable situation. I am a TRUE fan of second chance and thought that Kandi NAILED this one. I loved the dual POV as well as the dual timeline. I also liked that the dual timeline wasn't necessarily in chronological order but more the other of what was pertinent to what was happening in the present. The angst between these two was palpable. What was so different about this book though was the underlying plot that Ariana was married but to a man who was emotionally abusive. I thought Kandi did such a great job handling SUCH a heavy subject. The way that Ariana was convincing herself things weren't what she thought. The way that Shane knew something was wrong from the beginning. The way that Ariana finally realized Shane and her new friends were safe. She was ok to tell her story of what was going on in her life. The way they helped her get out. I loved Ariana realizing how much Shane's priorities had changed and how her perspective shifted on what had happened between them all those years ago. She realized he would do anything for her. These two were PERFECT together :)
Ariana knew seeing Shane McCabe would be hard but not this hard. Everything seems to be shifting around her. What are the chances that her husband is now the GM for Shane's team? The man that she loved. The man she wanted everything with. The man who left her when she needed him most. And now she is happily married. And yet she's not. She knows she should be grateful for everything she has. But the blinders are starting to come off about her marriage. She is starting to realize she has put up with so much for too long. Seeing Shane again has stirred something in her. Reminded of that she is a survivor. And yet she can't delve into the past with him. She wouldn't survive it again. But the more time she spends around him. The more times he tries to explain what happened all those years ago. The more she realizes she has become a shell of herself. The more she realizes how much MORE she could be doing with her life. The more scared she is of her husband. He is becoming more erratic and more territorial. Ariana doesn't know what to do, but then Shane steps in and tells her he would do anything for her. And she believes him. So she trusts him and his plan. She trusts the found family she has made in this team here in Tampa. She trusts that she will get out of this situation and when she is finally on the other side she hopes her and Shane will be able to make up for lost time.
Shane has one regret in life. Walking away from the woman he loved with all of his heart. The woman who to this day still owns said heart and soul. He didn't think he would ever get to see her again, and yet here she is. Showing up to his arena on the arm of his new boss. How has she gotten more beautiful? He instantly feels like this is a fate thing. What are the chances? And yet he doesn't know what to say. Obviously sorry but he wants to explain. He wants her to see how much he regrets walking away. She makes it clear she doesn't want to open that door, but then he realizes things aren't exactly what they seem between her and her husband. There are red flags everywhere now. How he treats Ariana. How some of his players have been playing. Shane can't quite put his finger on it, but he knows deep down something is off. And he is determined to make sure that Ariana is ok. He just wants to be around her. Being around her makes him so happy. And yet the more he is around her the more obvious it is that she isn't in fact ok. And when he gets conformation of that, he lets Ariana know he will make this right. He will be her safe place to land again. He will get her out of this mess and maybe get his second chance with her he has always hoped for. But first he hopes his plan goes smoothly. Everything hinges on that.
This book made my heart smile. Shane and Ariana had already been through so much by the time they were 22. They were put in an impossible situation and decisions were made. I smiled during almost all of the past POVs of them in college together. I then smiled when Shane realized he had a shot with his soulmate. She was back in his orbit, and he wasn't letting her go. Watching Ariana acknowledge what her heart knew, that Shane was it for her, made me smile so big. There were heavy topics in this one and scary moments, and yet there were moments of joy and perseverance too. I commend Kandi for how she handled all of this and definitely recommend this book as a perfect wrapup to this series!
Thank you to Valentine PR and Kandi for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
My new favorite Kandi Steiner book! This was so freakin’ good. The story hooked me from the very beginning and I was so curious to see how it would all end. I’m so sad this series has come to an end, I absolutely love all of these characters and their stories.
Shane McCabe is that man. This man went 20 YEARS living with the regret of the biggest mistake of his life. He took his opportunity to finally show the love of his life that this time would be different - and it worked.
I loved Ariana. She was so freakin’ strong despite everything she went through - and girlfriend went through a LOT. Yes, she lost herself a little along the way, but when she finally found herself again it was everything.
These two were the epitome of soul mates. Their chemistry was dripping off the pages and I loved being able to get their past, present and future stories. The found family in this book was incredible, and I love how everyone stepped up for Ariana when she needed them most.
Thank you to Kandi and team for the ARC!! I will miss these characters so much!
"Hockey saved me. But you...you're bringing me back to life."
If there is anyone that can totally utterly destroy my heart and put it back together again, it's Kandi Steiner. While I'm not always a fan of second chance romances, I AM a fan of angst and being put THROUGH IT in order to find happiness. And that's what Kandi did with Shane and Ari's story, Right Your Wrongs.
Told in dual POV and dual timelines, we follow (coach) Shane and Ari through their college years to the present in the final book in the Kings of the Ice series. After decades apart where a traumatic event separated them, Ari and Shane are now in each other's orbits. But their situation is anything but easy to understand. It's complicated and messy, full of heartbreak, yet full of hope because Shane will do anything to get back "the one that got away".
'I missed her like she was a part of me, one I'd learned to live without somehow. But now that she was here with me, I knew I couldn't even pretend to try to live without her again.'
This book put me through an emotional roller coaster. Of tears. Of pain. Of love and joy. And of resiliency. I loved that we finally got Coach's story and what an epic ride it was. It was bumpy and full of drama, but I loved seeing how aware this man was of not only his team and the players, but every little nuance that made the people around him tick. And the way Steiner connected that tidbit to his past was done so well and believable. She handled those aspects of their journey with the utmost care. While I may not have initially been 100% on board with Shane pursuing Ari in the present, there was so much more at play than any of us could know and I just wanted him to find his happiness. The way Kandi Steiner did that with the past characters from the previous books and bringing in their whole hockey family made me smile and brought the whole series together is such a freeing and poetically brave way.
Lastly, I had the chance to not only read an eARC, but also listen to an ALC. The duet audio narration by Savannah Thomas and Devon Braithwaite gave life to the two fierce yet vulnerable characters. You could feel all of their emotions that they had gone through over time.
If you've read the previous books in the series, you gotta bring it all together with the final book. Even if just to see past favorite characters because the way they come together for Shane and Ari is perfection. Especially the girl gang. Can we give it up to Kandi and the found family she created within the Osprey organization? Just be warned that the topic of abuse weighs heavily in the story and journey of these two characters. But there is also a lot of love, hope and obvious chemistry mixed in with the second chance angst. I'm sad to see this series come to an end, but I loved the way Steiner brought it to a close with our Coach.
"I have always been yours, Ariana. My heart has never belonged to another. And I will be right here with you, by your side, until I take my last f*cking breath. You hear me? Until these bones turn to ash, I am yours."
✨ARC REVIEW✨ 4.5⭐️ This story was something special! Shane never got over Ari but he felt like he had to let her go all those years ago. When she shows up back in his life married to his new GM he knows those feelings never went away. The situation might be complicated but the way he feels about her is anything but and he’s not letting her go easily this time. He respects her boundaries…that is until he learns the truth of what’s going on with her. He sees things that no one else does. The fear in her eyes. The battles she’s silently fighting. But she’s not alone anymore and he’s willing to go to war and lose it all to keep her safe.
This might be my new favorite of the series! Ari is fighting so many demons because of her past and her current situation and my heart just breaks for her. I love that Shane can see things in her and things happening to her that others can’t. He wants to step in and make it all disappear but also wants to respect her and her choices. The way he protects her and lets her know that no matter what he will be there and help when she needs it. Ari never thought she would end up in this situation after everything her mom went through. Shane knows the truth about it all and is willing to give up everything if it means getting her out of a bad situation. I was hooked with this one the entire time trying to figure out what would happen next. The way the whole crew just accepted her and showed her the love that she deserved made me so happy too. Defitniely a must read!!
They had a beautiful, strong relationship in their teenage years. Nothing has prepared them for the complications which were about to appear in their lives. Ariana and Shane had everything, until some tough decisions had to be made. And those would be the ones which would lead their relationship to an end. They never thought that they will see each other again, but what happens when after so many years apart their paths were intertwined again? The only complication: Ariana was now married to the new general manager of the hockey team, where Shane McCabe was coaching. Will they be able to leave their past behind and ignore those feelings which were still so very much present between them?
God!! This story was filled with soooo much angst! Even from the beginning you could strongly feel it, and the intensity kept on growing with each passing chapter. It was so heavy to see all those things they have gone through, especially Ariana, who I admired so much because of her strength and resilience. Even if there was a sort of love triangle, I adored each thing about this entangled story, especially that nerve-wracking ending😱. I simply couldn't put it down, being so curious about how their situation would turn out in the end. Ariana's husband, Nathan Blake, wasn't a character I liked at all, giving me strange vibes even from the start. I cannot say the same thing about Shane, who had such a strong connection with Ariana, in spite of not seeing each other for so many years. What they had was so unique and pure, nothing being able to change that, not even the fact that Ariana was now married. They were like two powerful magnets, that were impossible to keep apart.
If you're ready to dive into a super angsty, nerve-wracking story, then you should give this book a chance. It was soooo beautiful, Kandi managing again to get me all mushy, being completely mesmerized by everything that kept on happening in this story. It was heartbreaking, covering such intense subjects, which sometimes made me enraged, but everything was so worth it because I was also able to follow the reconnection of those two souls mates.
Thank you so much Valentine Pr and Kandi for accepting me for this stunning e-ARC. Loved everything about it, becoming one of my favorite reads of this month💖.
✨Tropes ▫️Second Chance Romance ▫️Forbidden Love ▫️Soul Mates ▫️Slow Burn ▫️He Falls First ▫️Protective MMC ▫️Sports Romance ▫️Hockey Coach
This book! This book delivered the kind of emotional, complicated romance that keeps you turning pages long after you meant to stop. This book leans heavily into angst, regret, and the idea that some loves never truly fade, no matter how much time or distance gets in the way.
Shane and Ariana’s story is built on a painful kind of history. They were college sweethearts whose relationship ended in a way that left unfinished feelings on both sides. Years later, Shane has built an impressive career as one of the youngest coaches in the NHL. He's disciplined, respected, and seemingly in control of his life. That control gets shaken the moment Ariana walks back into it as the wife of his new GM.
Lord, the forbidden tension in this book is out of control. Every interaction between these two, the weight of their past and the reality of their current situation. Shane's internal struggle between doing the right thing and wanting the woman he never stopped loving made for some seriously emotional moments.
Ariana’s dealing with far more than what appears on the surface, and the emotional complexity of her situation adds a darker, more serious tone to the romance.
This is definitely a slow burn, and I wanted some moments to linger a bit longer.
I loved seeing the familiar world of the series again. I loved all of these characters. The team dynamic, the friendships, and those little moments of camaraderie that remind you why this universe is so fun to revisit.
This novel is an angsty, emotional second chance romance filled with forbidden tension, buried feelings, and characters trying to navigate the consequences of the past.
Kandi brings us back to our cherished Kings of the Ice family one last time. Now, I thought this would have been messy and complicated, but I didn't anticipate it to be so touching. Kandi wrote such a beautiful story with elegance, depth, and beauty while tackling delicate subjects, as you could feel her heart through this story.
If you've followed along and gotten to know each of our guys through this series, you've also caught a few glimpses of Coach McCabe, better known as Shane. Not only is he the youngest NHL coach in history, but it's evident how important his players and team are to him. But when his new general manager arrives, standing by his side is none other than Ariana, the love of his life. Kandi takes us through past and present timelines of how these two fell in love. Shane knows her better than anyone; he can read her. He is aware that something is seriously off, and he will stop at nothing to protect her and find the truth. But will it be sufficient for Ariana to be Shane's forever as they follow their hearts once more, or will external factors keep them apart indefinitely?
Shane as a coach and in college, I adored him. I didn't anticipate such a filthy month from the man, who was considerate and caring both on and off the ice. But to be honest, he was simply delicious. I really related to Ariana in several ways, both in her personality and her past. I adored every aspect of her. On the inside, she was a strong, compassionate woman with a selfless heart.
I hope that through Kandi's words this story will empower women, even though it saddens me that many women will be able to relate to Ariana's situation and can break that cycle. This was a story of the ugly side of love, heartbreak, and resilience. I enjoyed how the women supported Ariana and the bonds that built between the coach and the guys. However, Ariana and Shane's romance was everything. I hated having to say goodbye to these characters. I would love to see Ben receive a book, but I will miss this series and am excited to see what Kandi does next.
Kandi Steiner can "write no wrongs" when it comes to stellar storytelling!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I was expecting a second chance romance, it's always been you kind of vibe, with some trauma & emotional healing.
Oh No. I mean, yes, we got that. ☺️ But we got MORE than that! Kandi delivered a Romantic Suspense, with an FMC who is living in a traumatic generational trap. She wrote an MMC who doesn't SAVE the girl. He FREES her, empowers her to be her true self, with a top shelf level of protection and the most keen intuitions!
Ariana and Shane are SOULMATES, DEFINED!!! Their HEA is hard fought and well deserved! It isn't rushed and is so satisfying!
The suspense piece is laced with some tense "omg, don't get caught" moments! 🫣
Right Your Wrongs is the final book in the Kings of the Ice series. It's so bittersweet because the found family Kandi created for us is one of my all time favs! RYW ties up so many of the other couples' storylines. I am going to miss them so much! 🥹💝
When I started this book, I didn’t realize the h was already married to OM. Once I saw that, I basically just quickly skimmed and skipped around. Cheating is not my vibe in romance books.
Clearly, h’s husband was NOT a good guy, so that was a way to excuse what she/H did. 🤷♀️ EXCEPT there were POVs from h where she still “loved” him. Her conflicted feelings made it all iffy. There was just something about it all that didn’t sit right with me.
I’ve enjoyed this whole series, so if cheating doesn’t bother you in books, you’ll probably like this. It just wasn’t for me.

The final book in the Kings of the Ice series was a heavy hitter! The Angst, the pining, the suspense, and the love! 🥰
Who knew Coach Shane had it in him!! I thought Mr. Young Hot NHL Coach was a grumpy loner, but he's been quietly pining for his first love for all these years!? I'm melting!
The way that man was *shaken* when he met his new GM and his wife! It turns out the love of his life is not only married, but extra forbidden due to her husband's position as Shane's boss.
Ariana and Shane go way back. When they met in college, Shane recognized the pain in her that he had in himself and they formed a deep love connection. But when it was time for Shane to leave for the NHL, tragedy struck, and he was faced with an impossible choice. One that has haunted him to this day.
“I love you enough to leave,” I said. “Please love me enough to understand.”
But things are not all that they seem between Ariana and her husband, and Shane is so tuned in to her even after all this time that he clocks it immediately.
I am weak for Coach Shane McCabe, and you will be too!!
Everybody, please check your trigger warnings. ⚠️ And if you won't pick up a book with infidelity (no matter the justification), this is not the book for you. But I ate the Angst, longing, drama, and the man who would burn the world for her right up!
5⭐️ 2.5🌶
I was given early copies of this digital and audiobook, and this is my honest review. Thank you to Kandi Steiner, Arndell, and Valentine PR for the ARC/ALC!
Throughout this series, Coach had always been a bit of a mystery to me. I did imagine he probably had a difficult background, and yet, I WAS NOT PREPARED for the tenderness and sweetness of this man. I was not prepared for THIS version of Shane McCabe.
Protective, nurturing, affectionate and supportive. The best kind of partner anyone could wish for. Perfect for Ariana, and her devastating circumstances 🥺 Together, they found a way out, against all odds, and rebuilt a life together, with respect and dignity and so so much love 😭🫶
“I’m not trying to become another man who runs your life. I know you need this to be yours.” I swallowed, the words tightening in my throat. “But if you let me… I’ll stand with you."
I literally turned the last page and I could not stop crying. What a heartbreakingly beautiful story!! 🥹❤️❤️
Not to mention that I'm literally grieving the fact that this is the last book in the "Kings of the Ice" world. I will miss this wild crew and their banter SO much 😭😭💔
Also... Kandi, I am watching you!! Doctor Georgie??? He better get his own book!!! 🤣🤣😍😍😍
***
“I love you.” She smiled, trailing her arms up around my neck. “And I love you. More than anything.” “More than Coldplay on a rainy day?” “More than that.” “More than the perfect smoothie?” “More than that.” “More than your first edition of Pride and Prejudice?” “Don’t get greedy now.”
”We’d lost so many years, so much time, so much love. But when it really came down to it, none of that mattered. We weren’t defined by what we’d lost. We were defined by what we chose to give."
Thank you again to Kandi Steiner for the Arc of this absolutely wonderful book. Edited on 3/23
Man, I am so sad this series is all done!!
Warning: Infidelity & DV
Now everyone knows that I love a forbidden romance. I eat it up everytime. But I really enjoyed this series overall and I love that Coach's love story was the ending book for the series. The overall emotional rollercoaster that this book put me through made me have to give this book 4.75 stars. I wish that I got to see a stronger presence with the present romance. I understand the given circumstances with the infidelity but I would have loved the slower burn to navigate more of their love and how they held on for so long even through another marriage.
I loved seeing the other characters that we got to meet throughout the series. I love this book for the emotional turmoil. Kandi does SO well with putting a reader THROUGH THE TRENCHES. But I love it. We love it here.
If you eat up sports romance with slow burn, you will love Kandi!
I wish I could adequately put into words how this book made me feel.. I'll try, but I truly feel you need to experience it for yourself to understand what I mean.
This story matters.
From the very start I could tell this book would be more than a forbidden romance between a coach and his new general manager's wife.. because their history was something so much bigger.
As I've gotten older, I really think I've come to appreciate second chance romance so much more.. especially ones like this. When it's the hard parts of life that separate you, something bigger than a young misunderstanding, it hurts more and it gives me hope that they will find their way back to each other in the end.
It's so refreshing to read about mature characters that have experienced life, especially when it turns out so differently than they imagined. To see them acknowledge where things went wrong, and fight like hell to right them, is something that makes me so emotionally connected to the story.
I think Kandi handled a hard topic (check your tw) with such care and honesty.. the way she wrote the characters, the way they saw themselves and the way they saw each other was both heartbreaking and beautiful.
The past and present was intertwined perfectly.. it made me fall for them and hurt to see where they ended up, but it made me hopeful for a new beginning.
I hope that right your wrongs finds all the right readers, and is both a healing and hopeful journey.
thank you Kandi, for writing this story and giving us shane & ariana.. I will never forget how they made me feel.
I finished this book in like 2 sittings it was SO GOOD!! one of my fave second chance romance books for sure 🩷 I loved seeing our characters come back together.
I will say this is one of the more angsty kings of the ice books, but kandi knocked it out of the park 🥹 it was filled with so much emotion and she absolutely covered some difficult topics but i can always count on her to handle it with care and she did. I loved getting their college years, the then and now timeline was seamlessly done and added so much depth to their connection. You like wanted them to be back together so badly 😭😭 i know not everyone loves a second chance romance but this one genuinely makes so much sense so absolutely give them a shot !!!
seeing our fave characters from the other books from the coach lens was really fun, it felt even more like a family and I can’t believe we have to say goodbye to these characters and this series! I have loved every word of it. I absolutely recommend this book and the whole series <3
as far as audio I liked the narrators a lot as well! 💕 they did great
2.5?? Rounding up to 3 bc I do love Kandi’s writing!! This series just hasn’t been my favorite. The back and forth timeline was good to get me invested in the second chance romance aspect.. but I didn’t feel a ton of chemistry between Shane and Ari in the present chapters?! And Ari annoyed me that she kept feeling so scared and confused idkkk I kept waiting for more little things to be revealed about her relationship with Nathan. Probably doesn’t help that I just read and loved Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan that has a similar plot
Thank you to Kandi Steiner for an ARC of Right Your Wrongs. This book is hands down some of Kandi's best writing! I am just completely obsessed with Shane and Ariana. The flashbacks to 2006 were a dose of nostalgia I didn't know I needed. The heartbreak of their love story was so emotional and tear jerking. The care in which Kandi wrote about Ariana's childhood and her situation in adulthood made it all that much more powerful. I truly am in awe of how amazing this book turned out. It was not what I was expecting, but I loved every second of it. This book is the epitome of a second chance romance. It's the perfect ending to an incredible series. I obviously loved getting to hear more about all of our favorite characters from past books and how they play such an important role in Shane and Ari's story as well. There are just so many parts to this story that are beautiful. I'm sad that this series is over, but so incredibly happy with how it ended.
How am I supposed to just move on after this masterpiece? Literally no notes. This has to be my favorite Kandi Steiner book to date. The angst, The yearning, The tension, the hurt intertwined throughout the pages done so heartbreakingly beautifully... Everything about this book was a masterpiece. The duel timeline was done so well that it had you going from chapter to chapter so effortlessly and then you blinked and you've read 70% of the book.
Shane & Ari gosh what can I say about them other than they are PERFECT. This was a heartbreakingly beautiful second chance romance an they so deserve this hard fought happily ever after.
If you're wondering if you should read this book DONT WONDER AND LONGER. read it. you. will. not. regret. it.
