The Bane of Dragons

All the stuff that teens (and those of us in touch with our inner teen) love to read. Alison is a strong yet believable character. Twists abound. A colorful collection of allies for Allison as well as gawd-awful antagonists. Enjoy!

The Bane of Dragons is a fantastic conclusion to The Allison Lee Chronicles. Once again, Dan Rice pulls readers into his vivid, fast-paced world.
This time, the story takes us to Japan, which I absolutely loved, before moving on to distant planets across the multiverse. This adds a fresh sense of adventure that kept me engaged.
Compared to the previous book, this installment felt like it leaned more into aliens than monsters, and I really enjoyed that shift. It gives the story a slightly different tone while still maintaining the intense, high-stakes atmosphere the series is known for.
Without giving anything away, I especially enjoyed the character Pallas.
The characters remain well-developed, and Allison’s journey continues to be compelling. The Bane of Dragons is an excellent finale that expands the universe while staying true to what makes the series so enjoyable. Fans will not be disappointed. It’s a must-read for anyone who enjoys action-packed sci-fi fantasy with strong characters and imaginative world-building.

One of the things better than the glorious cover art on this story is the writing. Even fans of YA or the fantasy/paranormal/futuristic genre will drop their teeth over this one. It is edge of your seat action, toe curling danger, and a few hints of the gore involved. Author Dan Rice has hit this one out of the park.
Based on a scale of 1-5, The Bane of Dragons merits an 8.
