This was a really quick read—I finished it in about 30–40 minutes. If you’re looking for something fast-paced that you can read in one sitting, this definitely fits that category. Every chapter has some kind of action or plot development, so the story moves very quickly. And I will say… there is a plot twist, which I enjoyed!
Overall, I think the story itself is good. The concept is interesting and it kept my attention the whole time. However, I personally tend to prefer full-length novels over short stories. Because this book is so short, the pacing felt extremely fast to me.
Sometimes I found myself wondering about the details between events. For example, the characters are only 13 years old, and occasionally I was thinking, wait… how did they even get there? Did they drive? Catch an Uber? Moments like that made me wish there was a little more filler or transitional detail to connect the scenes.
If you’re someone who enjoys stories that focus mostly on the plot and action without a lot of extra description, you’ll probably really enjoy this. For readers like me who prefer longer books with more world-building and in-between moments, it may feel a bit rushed.
That said, it’s still a good story and definitely worth the quick read! 📚
