This one is absolutely for the extreme horror fans. Angie and Christine stumble into a backroad corn maze run by the most vile, stomach turning clowns you can imagine.

It gave me major Haunt vibes if you’ve seen that movie. It’s short, under 50 pages, but it does not waste a second. The pacing is relentless, and the gore is graphic and extreme if that’s your thing.

There are no happy endings waiting for you in this corn maze.

METH'D UP CLOWNS is gnarly, raw, rough around the edges, and a whole bunch of fun! Chapter one is called CLOWN TORTURE and there are seeping wounds in the first sentence. Need I say more?

On Devil's Night, Christine Clarke is driving her pregnant friend, Angie Graham around. The two of them are going around, donating canned goods, and checking out haunted houses. Christine is getting tired, and it is getting too dark for her, but, Angie, believing that going around and getting truly scared, that night, could ensure that she has her baby, the next day. Angie has always wanted a Halloween baby, and Christine loves her friend, so she agrees to one final stop, as it is far out of the way. Along the way to their destination, Angie and Christine spot a man in the middle of the road with a sign indicating that there is a corn maze nearby. Distracted from their original destination, Angie becomes excited at the prospect of being terrified into an induction of her pregnancy, and talks Christine into going and checking it out. The man holding the sign is dressed like a dirty, disheveled clown, and interacts in an ominous nature. All part of the act, right? Meeting up with the main clown, Quacky, and his odd female companion, Bubbles, Christine has reservations about all of this, but is in it for her best friend. While navigating the maze, Christine feels something hit her in the back of the head, and blacks out. Upon waking, Christine wills herself forward. She has to find her best friend, Angie. At any cost. But, what will she discover when she does find her? And, can they both escape and survive this night of fun that quickly transformed into a violent, drug fueled nightmare?
This was a brutal read! The gore in this was amazingly disgusting, and the heinous acts of the clowns in this is stomach churning. You really root for the girls, while fighting the feeling that the story will have a bleak ending. Fantastically written for being the author's first story! I highly recommend this to extreme horror fans.

The debut novella from Vivian Goth, a brutal ride that does not hold back!

We follow two best friends who are trying to have a fun time for Halloween, until they come across a festive-looking corn maze owned by clowns...

I am proud to say this author should be placed among the extreme horror greats, as this story was nasty, vile, and a great time!

You really feel for these characters and want them to get out of the horrible situation they found themselves in. Descriptions of the violence is very well detailed and packs a lot of punch in this short book with a heart-wrenching ending.

I can't wait to see what this author does in the future! Great job, Vivian!

Okay, so I’m going to preface my review by saying: although it might sound extremely harsh, my review is coming from a place of love because I truly see potential in Vivian’s writing. While this book has an interesting premise, I was taken out of the story too often to enjoy it. The book has a lot of grammatical and spelling errors and doesn’t seem to be edited that well. There were also continuity issues that, again, took me out of the story. Also, there were times in the book that seemed like a bunch of things happened…but weren’t included in the book. I would question myself like…how did we get to this part (thinking I missed something). Again, take this review with a grain of salt. Vivian has creative ideas and isn’t a bad writer at all. I will definitely follow along with her journey!

I was NOT prepared for this book…this is debut novella by Vivian Goth. This is an absolute MUST for extreme horror fans! We follow two best friends on Devils Night, who come across a creepy clown offering a corn maze horror experience…they go along with it and it ends up in drug induced gory carnage! It is brutal and unsettling and definitely NOT for the faint hearted! Looking forward to seeing what else she has to come!

Meth'd Up Clowns is a disturbing, brutal read. Angie and Christine head out on Devils Night, looking for fun, but the corn maze they find is run by deranged clowns who turn it into a nightmare. Unsettling and definitely not for everyone.

A seriously messed up story, meant in the nicest way possible!
Just when I thought it couldn't get any grosser it did!
I don't have anything negative to say about the story. My only negatives were the size of the book and the cover art. I would have liked the book to have been bigger as everytime I picked it up it felt so tiny, like a child's book.
I would have also liked to have seen some cool front cover art and felt the face of the book let it down slightly.
I'm looking forward to Vivian's next book!

Meth’d Up Clowns is a disturbing, disgusting, and brutal novella that you can’t help but keep turning the page. Just like the meth these psychopathic and disturbed clowns are on, I couldn’t help but be addicted and wanting to read more. Vivian Goth does not hold back and tells a tale full of misery, despair, and hopelessness. I loved every single second of it, and I can’t wait to read more of her work!

Who's ready for a Meth'd Up fright on Devil's Night?!

Angie and Christine are on the hunt for a fright on Devil's Night, but this is one Halloween they'll never forget. Filled to the brim with disgusting, depraved, and downright crazed horrors, Meth'd Up Clowns is truly messed up indeed.

This was a great little story, clocking in at just under 50 pages; there's rarely a moment that goes splatter-free! The story really feels like a classic slasher/ gore-romp/ grindhouse movie (very Terrifier 1 vibes), featuring a cast of instantly memorable clown maniacs that are just as sick as the title of this book suggests. There's extreme sexual content, blood, guts, and gore in spades. This is splatterpunk in its most hardcore form, and I enjoyed every moment of it. This is also the first I've read from Goth, and it will not be the last!

My only critique of the book would be the pacing towards the very end. We start moving very quickly, but I put that down to the short page count. If the book was extended to more like 75 pages, it would maybe give some more breathing room/ build up for Christine's comfort with going so hardcore in unaliving one of the clowns! Not to say that it wasn't a fun splattery scene, but it was a bit of a surprise how chill she was with what she does (no spoilers) :P Regardless, this is a great little read, and a perfect book to get you in the mood for Halloween. Prepare for one Meth'd Up ride! Great work!
