Can you imagine how all of a sudden, you are thrown into the life you didn't know you existed in. You are grappling with grief of the passing of the only family, you thought you had and in a twinkle of an eye, you discover you have another family tucked in somewhere, whose lives are way different from yours and you are expected to just fit right in.?..... That's the story of Cheta, a young girl in Uni whose life is suddenly upended by circumstances beyond her. Her life then gets intertwined with another Interesting character Jaye, who's battling with unrealistic expectations put upon him by his father, and by extension his mum, to remain a relevant Wellington.
Two people from two separate worlds collide in an explosive drama of romance and re-discovery.
⭐ This is a very interesting read that reminded me of the four walls of Uni. I wasn't adequately prepared for the level of spiciness 🌶️, I read in this book 🫣, it was initially not looking like that😁.
🩷 One character I loved in the book would have to be Aunty Been, I liked how Tonia portrayed her to be, not the typical step mother type of person. I liked that she genuinely took interest in Cheta's well-being.
⭐ Another lesson learnt is that, one should never allow anybody use you and make you a character in their own story. I liked how Jaye stood his ground and took his own destiny into his hands.
Btw, the fathers in this book were so annoying and made me wonder how a father can be so distant from their own children.
🩷 In all, love is beautiful and Into You demonstrated just that.

ARC review
This was my first time reading the author’s work and I absolutely loved her storytelling ,emotional, engaging, and easy to connect with.
This soft college romance follows Cheta’s journey of healing, belonging, and discovering love in unexpected places. The university setting, the emotional growth, and the relationship development completely won me over and now I’ve officially added college romance to one of my favourite genres because of this book.
And can we talk about Auntie Bee?? 🥺 She was such a beautiful character and easily one of my favourites. The love and warmth she showed melted my heart. It's kind of rare to see someone in her position to be that loving.
I also really loved the emotional depth of Cheta and Jaye’s relationship.
Their relationship had it's ups and downs, misunderstanding and emotional moments, but their growth together was beautiful to see.
Jaye Wellington is that guy , so sweet and charming, him standing up for himself at the end and the decision he made showed that this guy knows what he wants and he knows what he's doing.
I really loved and enjoyed how the book explored themes of acceptance, healing, love and the courage to choose happiness despite family pressure.
And the spice?? OMG!! It was 🥵🔥😍
A totally engaging read, this is definitely worth your time, I recommend!

I just finished this romance ARC and it was such an amazing read 📚✨
The story follows a young girl Cheta who is had to leave where she’s always known as home and reunite with a father she never met. Hurt, anger, and unanswered questions shape her new life.
Along the way, she meets a charming but complicated love interest Jaye,the most playful playboy in her university and their journey from attraction to love — with all the misunderstandings in between — kept me hooked.
Cheta and Jaye’s love had me all smiling,giggling and blushing so hard.
And the spices scenes😋,it had me hooked from the beginning till the very end and I loved it. It’s also explored a new light of step-mother and daughter relationship which I really liked.
This book beautifully explores family, healing, and young love. If you enjoy slow ride romance,young love,university or young adult love,you’ll surely enjoy this amazing book.
I’d definitely recommend adding this to your TBR 💕

Into You is a slow-burn uni romance with emotional depth. The story follows Cheta, a guarded and reserved young woman who has never truly felt like she belonged. Her life is abruptly upended when her aunt dies and she’s forced to move in with the father she never knew.
Still grappling with grief and this new reality, Cheta is enrolled in the same uni as her stepbrother, who despises her. Her plans to stay invisible and lay low, unravel when she meets Jaye, a popular playboy who is drawn to her and also happens to be her stepbrother’s best friend.
On the surface, Jaye seems to have it all together, but that confidence is just a façade. Beneath it lies a young man weighed down by crushing family expectations. From the moment he notices Cheta, he’s drawn to her quiet presence. Ignoring his best friend’s warnings, he pursues a friendship with her that slowly becomes a safe space.
What starts as friendship gradually evolves into something deeper, forcing both of them to confront questions of identity, belonging, but will they be able to choose love in the face of personal and social pressures that threaten to suffocate them?
I enjoyed reading this book. While both characters appear very different on the surface, peeling back the layers reveals that they’re both struggling with self-belonging and identity albeit in very different ways. The book beautifully explores belonging, self-worth, grief, loss, familial expectations, and the courage it takes to choose love.
I enjoyed the author’s writing style; the short chapters were chef’s kiss, the characters acted their age, and even though this was a slow burn romance, the story was engaging. Definitely worth checking out.
Side Note:
😅 I liked the uni backdrop. The students were crazy.
🥴 Award for best in overthinking goes to Cheta. That girl stressed me out.
🌚 Dabby pissed me off for most of the book, but I wasn’t surprised because his frontal lobe has fully developed.
🥰 Cheta’s stepmom was a breath of fresh air. It was refreshing to read about a stepmom that wasn’t evil.
🥴 Both fathers? Absolutely mad.
🌚 And Jaye’s mum? Using your son as a bargaining chip to secure your place in a man’s life is just insane. I see death by high blood pressure in her future.
🤔 I would’ve loved to know more about what Cheta discovered in her mum’s journal about her father.

This is by far the best University love story I have seen in a book. This was not also just a love story but a book with lessons on family dynamics because it dives into family and love in a thoughtful manner with each theme teaching different lessons. The family dynamics showed how different structures and wounds can lead to the same emotional impact. It highlighted how multiple people can be victims of the same mistakes in different ways. The love story felt like a lesson in choice and safety. It wasn’t dramatic, but intentional about being seen, being honest, and choosing to show up as yourself. Where the families represented inherited pain, Cheta and Jaye love for each other showed the possibility of healing.. I loved reading this book. I can’t wait for the other books in this series

One of the most amazing university romance books I have read.
I was immediately glued to the pages once I started.
The book follows Cheta, the FMC, a young girl whose life changed after the death of her aunt, new family, new school, secrets unfolding, and the need to adjust.
In the midst of all this, she met Jaye, a renowned playboy,and fell in love with him
Their love was so beautiful to read.
The spicy scenes were really spicy.
A 5-star read for me.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Drama and unhinged family members aside 😑, Cheta and Jaye’s story made me want to fall in love 🥲❤️🩹. Tonia just has a way with words that makes you feel connected to the characters. You will literally feel like entering the story 😂. If I could erase my memory and read this all over again, I would. She delivered, as usual. Can’t wait to read her next piece 🥰❤️🔥.

It’s crazy how much one person can change your entire life just by opening your eyes to see what you’ve been missing before. In choosing Cheta, Jaye chose himself and honestly, what better way to define love than such brazenness?
