Childhood best friends Jay and Gia haven’t spoken since Gia’s marriage drove them apart, until one tearful night when she shows up at Jay’s door with devastating news: her husband, Frank, is leaving her. Rekindling their bond over heartbreak and bad decisions, the pair hatch a reckless plan for a weekend escape to Atlantic City, funded by some “borrowed” cash from Frank’s home office.

But when the house goes up in flames, and Frank is found dead in the wreckage, their impulsive getaway turns into a full-blown manhunt.

Before Jay and Gia can clear their names, they’re caught in a dire twist of fate when mobsters kidnap them, claiming Frank owed them money. Soon, the former besties are swept into a chaotic whirlwind of car chases, gunfights, bank robberies, and…burlesque shows? But as they scramble to outsmart the crooks, one question remains: will the FBI find this ridiculous mix-up as humorous as their quick-witted candor?

Okay, you know those action movies on Netflix. You know the ones, big star, looks silly, critics pan it, but you watch it anyway because you want something you don’t have to think about. Something fun and exciting to distract you for a few hours.

Well that’s Besties in Crime.

It’s silly. It’s fun. It’s exciting. It’ll have you sitting there thinking what the f@$k will Jay And Gia get caught up in next.

Yes this is a fun romp, but amongst all the action, the accidental crime, and the many many many murders (like Gia is a gun!) there’s also the story of two friends whose lives have fallen apart into heir own ways and they’re trying to rediscover themselves and put everything back together in a new, better way.

So yeah, that movie on Netflix that you scrolled past before giving in and watching something that was truly enjoyable, this is that.

Okay this was actually really funny. If it was a movie, I would snuggle up with the hubby and watch it. Our main characters are besties who just find themselves in such a messy situation. I could visually see the scenes happening as I read and could not stop laughing about them. I think people will find this to be humorous and a nice reprieve from the heaviness of the world. I hope others enjoy this as much as I did!

Besties in Crime is honestly such a fun, feel good, edge of your seat read. From the start your pulled into something that goes from everyday life to being wrapped up in a full blown criminal investigation. What I loved most is how natural it feels…the danger builds, secrets unfold, and stakes get higher but it never loses its core energy of friendship. It’s suspenseful without being too much and the twist keep you turning pages. Full of adventure, laughs, and the strongest connection to Kylie Minogue, what is there not to love about this?

Where do I begin? This was an easy read and honestly the most fun book I have read in a long time. The chemistry between Jay and Gia is incredible with quick wit and laugh out loud funny dialogue. The twists and turns this book takes is extremely entertaining and will keep you on your toes until the very end. 5 stars!
