“Every part of me wants to make you mine, even the part I’m supposed to keep in check.” – Ocean
Skye’s been hurt before, and she’s determined to steer clear of anyone that can make her feel that kind of pain again. But then Ocean shows up. He’s everything she should stay away from, but everything she can’t seem to resist. With him, the world feels safer, softer, and too damn good to be true.
Ocean’s always been the one in control...the protector, the provider, the man who calls all the shots. He’s used to women who come and go, never expecting more than what he’s willing to give. But with Skye, everything’s different. She challenges him and makes him feel things he’s never felt before. For the first time, he wants to do more than send another woman on her way...he wants to do everything in his power to make her stay.
But being with Skye means loving her through her past, her pain, and her deepest scars. Will Ocean be able to rise to the challenge and love her the way she deserves to be loved? Or will her past bring out the worst in him and send Skye running the other way?
Pretty good read and I like that Ocean wasn't on bs and when he said he was serious about a relationship. With the mention of the incident that happened to Skye I feel like a hole was left. Why was the guy that Ocean had beef with their, did he run in their circle? Also, why was it at the location it was at and the character, from the previous book, wasn't in attendance.
Ms. Taylor come to the front of the class, now take a bow. You did this. When I read an MMC morph into putty for a woman, it makes my inside tingle. Ocean was most definitely an alpha with every ounce of masculine energy he portrayed, but when it came to Skye, he was a borderline beta. Ol' School was his tender spot as well. He looked up to him as a father figure and made sure he did not go without. It was disheartening what ultimately happened to him. Ocean pushed through with Skye right by his side. Although Ocean had a rough demeanor, he took care of business at the right times. Anyone he loved was highly protected by him. Skye deserved and needed him in her life. She had been through a category five storm dealing with her ex. He didn't seem to know when enough was enough. He finally let go after some reinforcements.
Overall, this book tells a romantic story, but deep down, more was revealed. It uncovers buried pasts, infidelity, homosexuality, and family secrets that could shake a mountain. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and anticipate what's the next release is. Ladies and gents get into it. You won't be disappointed, especially if you like a little unhingment.
This was a nice ending to this story. I enjoyed seeing Skye and Ocean find love. He was the first to admit he fell for her fast and hard and when given the chance for more, he didn’t hesitate to take it and was quick to cut off the other women he was messing with. Ocean was a certified crash out behind Skye and was willing to do anything for her and do anything necessary to protect her.
There were a lot of moving parts to this story especially with the secondary characters, but I enjoyed it all. I also liked getting an update on Shade and Nyx. I do wish Skye would have been all in from the beginning like Ocean was once they decided they were going to be exclusive, but I understood her reasoning for wanting to take things slow. She definitely had to heal from her past situations and trauma in order to fully accept all the love that Ocean was willing to give and show her.
This book is one that I was highly anticipating, and A.C. didn't disappoint me at all. The previous book in the series ended with a cliffhanger, and I was happy to see that I was partially correct in who the culprit was. I really loved Ocean and Skye together. Skye was scared that Ocean was just like the men in her past, but Ocean showed her that he wasn't on that type of time. I also loved how Ocean didn't play about Skye or the people he cared about. He didn't mind crashing out in a heartbeat and did. This book had fantastic chemistry, love and passion between Ocean and Skye, secrets, drama, emotional moments, and great characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend that you read it as well!!
The way I vibed with book one, this was did not hold the same spark. Damn... It wasn't bad and gave the conclusion of all things from Perfect Rhythm but... I wanted more.
Ocean was still the same calculated man that didn't let anything slide. Skye, she stood stronger but got her gets backs for everyone almost, through her friend/man. I loved the role her mother played. She was a HOT mess too and came into town mending fences. That was epic and I applaud her from mother to mother.
There was sadness, laughs, and a few karma incidents. Read at your own enjoyment.
Finally. I’ve been waiting on this book seems like forever. Glad that Ocean and Skye got their HEA. Ocean was real patient with her bc like after her second blow up I would have been out the door. I know she was healing but she was have taken that journey in her own. lol. But he stuck it out and got his girl. I laughed and I cried. Oh how I cried…..just download and read.
I finished it quickly it but it was cute. I almost forgot the other book ended on a cliff hanger so I’m glad this booked summed it up. I do feel something’s felt rushed. I’m not clear if he actually killed Wayman? And what happened to Melina ? More clarity there would be great. But overall good book, and glad everyone basically got there happy ending.
Yes, this was a good story with a perfectly amazing love story. There was the drama, the conniving acts, the shady thirsty ladies and the wonderful relationship between Ocean and Skye.
I love this for skye and ocean! They locked in and never let go. I just knew for sure it would be Enzo but the tricks on me. Sucks that that happened to old school.
