I am death. I am bloodshed. I am a nightmare from which there is no awakening. I, too, once bore the humiliation of humanity. I used to be known as the Baron of Bones. A ruler so corrupt and cruel that legends spoke of my making a deal with the Devil long before I truly did, gladly surrendering my human soul for immortality. And so began my reign of terror. But a mortal woman has become my obsession, my yearning for her stronger even than my desire for power has ever been. And soon, so very soon, she will understand there is no love like the love of a demon.

✨️ ARC REVIEW ✨️ ( updated + more detailed ) Demonic Delights by Margo Smythe Publication date: 24th February 2026
Thoughts | 4.5⭐️ Okay I guess at this point I'm officially biased when it comes to this author! What the hell was that??? Can my future hubby be a demon please lol One of the best dark novellas I've read in a while! Genuinely consumed me I swear if I hear "dark darling' anymore I'll lose it in the best way possible 😂 it's very rare that I enjoy a smut -> plot read as much as I did with this one hence why I said consider me biased lol
What to expect ▪︎ Demonic possession ▪︎ Morally black FMC ▪︎ Smut -> plot ▪︎ Unholy church scene ▪︎ Age gap ▪︎ Unconventional second chance
Plot Summary Roxana gave up university to marry her professor, Silas, a man sixteen years older than her. Though he’s only grown more attractive with time, she’s begun to doubt herself as their once-balanced passion fades into something one-sided. Then one night, Silas returns home changed—confident, commanding, and almost like the man she first fell for. There’s something different about him, something she can’t quite place, but she’s too caught up in the revival of their spark to question it—at least at first. As subtle clues surface, Roxana begins to realise there’s more behind his transformation than she ever imagined.
Thanks to Margo Smythe for providing the eARC. This is my honest opinion.
Demons, Desire & Drama
The story promised a darkly seductive journey into the world of demons and forbidden desires, and for a while, it delivers. Smythe’s writing is vividly sensual, pulling the reader into a world that feels at once dangerous and intoxicating. The chemistry between the protagonists sparks, and the tension is palpable, but something keeps the story from fully igniting.
The plot occasionally stumbles, weighed down by predictable twists and a few pacing issues that pull the momentum just as it starts to build. While the characters are intriguing, they sometimes verge on clichés, and their development feels uneven. Yet, there are moments of genuine intrigue, where the darker edges of the story shine through and hint at what could have been a more compelling tale.
In the end, 'Demonic Delight' is an enjoyable, if imperfect, escape into the supernatural. It’s entertaining, but it leaves a lingering sense that the story could have been bolder, more daring, more unforgettable. A solid read for fans of steamy fantasy, but not quite a standout.
Immortal love | Demon obsession | Morally grey lead | Power imbalance | Supernatural danger | Soul tied romance | Dark paranormal romance | Fate vs free will
I've to say, this book took my by surprise. I wasn't expecting that at all and it quickly got me hooked!
I've rarely read any demon possession romance but I'm an avid fan or dark romance. And it delivered! I may need more of dark demon daddies now 🤣
It is quite a short book to I finished it the same day I got it. Thank you for accepting me in the ARC team!
Roxanne and Silas are wedded to each other but they mariage isnt going well. Until he comes home... different.
There is a lot of smut (kinky too) and it heavily dominated the plot. So, I wouldn't recommend it if this isn't something you want.
It was quite fun to read throught Silas POV because he thinks he's going crazy. He's missing time and his wife doesn't seem to care or don't realize it. However, he gets those dreams that seems more like memories than fiction from his brain.
Roxanna is crazy but in a good way. She's the morally grey one in the couple and I couldn't get enough of it. She is rational and strong women. She might love to be dominated in bed but she's still a force to recon with.
Overall, I feel like there was a lot of smut but it was so good I didn't mind it. The rest of the plot was well woven into it so the story still continue forward.
My only complaint? The ending. I feel like it should have gone a bit diffently. But it's just a small critic on my part.
This was a well-paced novella with an interesting twist on morally grey characters. The FMC is vain and ultimately lacks empathy, which makes her the perfect focus for a dark, watchful demon.
I’ve enjoyed this author’s writing style from her debut novel — there’s a poetic rhythm to her storytelling that feels intentional and immersive. With this novella, though, we see a much darker tone. Readers should absolutely be prepared for explicit spice 🌶️
I was completely drawn in from the first page. However, as the story progressed, I struggled to truly connect with the characters — especially the FMC. There’s a trope used that just never sits right with me, which made it harder to fully sink into certain scenes.
That said, it was still an entertaining and, at times, intriguing read. I especially appreciated the FMC’s methodical thinking toward the end — it added a layer of depth that kept me engaged.
Overall: a dark, spicy novella with morally grey energy and a poetic edge. Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review.
Firstly I want to say a massive thank you to Margo for the ARC read!
Holy cow, what a ride! The characters are so well written that you can’t help but form such strong opinions toward them from the get go.
Roxana had me on side and rooting for her version of a happily ever after in which ever way she needed and boy oh boy did the ending have my jaw on the floor! I was not expecting that at all.
Her dark side kept peeking and shocking the hell out of me. You can tell she has a streak but when it popped up it had me gasping!
Silas made me irrationally angry, gave me the ick and had me wondering where he got so much audacity from. However I loved how it ended for him, it was incredibly satisfying.
Overall such a fantastic novella, I finished it in less than 24 hours, hated that I had to put it down to be an adult because I could have easily finished it in one sitting.
Forget the Turkish delights instead get the Romanian delights with a filling of Demon 😈
Roxana, gave up her university education to marry her professor, Silas a man sixteen years older than her. His good looks have gotten better, but Roxana feels she is no longer good enough for him as their love life seems to be one sided now a total reversal of what it once was. That is until Silas arrives home one night and turns her world upside down, taking control like he used to if not more, his body is different but she pays little attention when she feels he has gotten his mojo back. There is an explanation for this, which she begins to realise and the pieces of upbringing return…
I honestly loved this novella, Margo’s writing just intensifies the story, with effective visuals and a rather large dollop of spice 🤭 It leads you through the story giving you insights into the background story, a legacy and what was thought to be folklore in the FMCs country. All in all it comes together so well, gotta love an obsessive demon who knows how to use his ‘tackle’ and that ending 🫶🏻
Demonic Delights was a nice, fast read, and I’m always down for a good paranormal romance. Make it dark and you’ve got my attention.
This one is a shorter novella and the pacing is solid, but it lacked depth. The concept is unique and the demonic angle is genuinely cool, but the plot felt more like it was skimmed so the focus could stay on the spice. And don’t get me wrong, I love dark romance and I’m not mad at the smut… but I need the story to pull me in and flow with the spice, not sit in the background.
I also felt a bit disconnected from the characters because there wasn’t enough time spent building them or the world. The ending, especially, fell short for me, it moved really fast and felt more like it was added just to wrap everything up.
Overall: great concept, fun and spicy, but I would’ve enjoyed it a lot more with a stronger storyline, more character connection, and a more developed ending.
The chemistry was intense and addictive throughout this entire book! it was layered with danger and temptation that kept building with every chapter. Nothing felt easy, and that’s what made it so compelling. You could feel the weight of every choice and every consequence.
The choices our FMC made regarding her husband/demon was a little mind blowing! The different POV, where we are able to read what each character is experiencing was well developed!
One small thing I would have loved to see was more time inside their internal struggle during the bigger turning points. I am an emotional reader, and so delving more into the larger moments and seeing more of the struggle and emotions would have really made this book exceptional
This book is dark, emotional, and consuming in the best way. If you love demons, tension, and characters that make you feel everything, this is absolutely worth the read.
A dark, delicious demon romance 😈 I inhaled this book that was not only decadently spicy but the main character Roxie is hilarious in how devious she is!
You’re reading this book because you love a paranormal demon romance. Because you want 5 chilli smut and you want unhinged and you want to read a story that is actually well written.
Margo Smythe has such a unique writing style that books me from the first paragraphs. This story follows Roxie and her boring and unsatisfying husband Silas. But throw in a demon possession and Silas goes from lacklustre to a sexy and satisfying! I was all for how spicy things got and I love that Roxie is able to unleash her inner freak and is perfectly matched to her new demon lover. The way he calls her dark darling and she calls him daddy 🥵
Definitely would recommend this book to my fellow monster smut fans. Demonic Delights is a fast paced, spicy read with a pretty decent plot!
I love me some Demon smut, and Margo delivered! The pleasant suprise was discovering that there was more then just smut. The first couple of chapters were soooo very relatable. Roxanne describing how sex had lost all emotional and physical feeling, wishing the heat and desire from the beginning of there relationship would return. At first it made me feel sorry for Roxanne, thinking she was taken advantage of...... ya definitely not lol!!!! Where our FMC may not have any redeeming qualities, she was very smart, and I loved that!! In so many stories the men are the manipulators, well gentlemen take a fuckin seat. She wanted it and took the demon by the horns! This was just a smutty good time! A quick read with a nice twist at the end. The sex positive feminist in me just ate this shit up!!
This was a super entertaining read. I was really eager to read about a demonic possession and I thought this plot was super intriguing. At a certain point the smut definitely overtakes the plot. but, I didn't actually have a problem with that. I feel like the smut was well written and wasn't the same thing repeated over and over again. unfortunately, the dialogue during those scenes is what turned me off. It was very awkward at times, and the pet name used was one that I personally don't vibe with. I enjoyed reading about a morally black FMC , I've never read a book where the roles are reversed, so this was a great change of pace. overall, I'd recommend this. it was entertaining and intriguing.
Thank you to Margo Smythe for providing me with an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!
Ever wondered what it would be like to have rosary beads shoved up your arse, while being pleasured in a church by your demon possessed husband? Then look no further, Demonic Delights has you covered!
This book was an insane ride of pain and pleasure and I loved it!! This book is mostly smut, with a minor splash of a plot. This, in my opinion, makes it all the more enjoyable because the smut is *chefs kiss*
Demonic Delights was a fantastic read and has set the standards high. Forever going to be wishing I had a demon daddy willing to hurt me in all the best ways.
I received Demonic Delights as an ARC and all opinions are mine and have been left voluntarily. Thank you for the opportunity to read it!
I fell in love with this book from chapter one. It’s absolutely hilarious. The humor is on point. This is a true bite sized read, I devoured it in less than three hours and honestly wish there was more! Let’s be real, the smut completely dominates the plot, but I didn’t mind one bit. There’s still an actual story and some sneaky character development woven in, so it never felt flat. Plus, getting everyone’s POV was a treat, it made it so much easier to connect with the whole unhinged cast. And that ending? Good for you, Roxana. Get. It. Girl. 😈😎✨️
P.S. Seriously, though … how do I get a demon to possess my partner? Asking for a friend 👉🏼👈🏼🖤😈
This demonic tale packs a punch. This is not your standard dark romance fare. The characters are more on a pitch black aspect. There are no warm and fuzzy feelings for the characters, and that's by design. I don't think it would have had the same power in the punch if the characters were soft and cuddly. Redemption or moral arcs are not needed to tell a story. While the page count isn't high, it didn't need to be if you can effectively convey the story.
Tropes and triggers: pitch black, murder, bdsm, touch them and die, dubious consent, breeding, age gap, student and teacher, power dynamics, etc.
Holy hell, what a ride. From the very first page, the characters sink their claws into you, written so vividly you can’t help but form fierce loyalties and even fiercer grudges. I was completely in Roxana’s corner, desperate for her version of a happily ever after whatever shape that needed to take and that ending? Absolutely jaw-dropping. I never saw it coming. The way her darkness flickered beneath the surface, only to surge forward at the most shocking moments, had me gasping every time. And Silas? He made me irrationally furious, radiated pure audacity, and gave me the ick in the worst way yet the way things wrapped up for him was nothing short of deliciously satisfying.
5🌟 5🌶 Grand ol Smutty time! I read the TWs and knew this one going to be a good one. I was surprised at how good!!! the Spice was Spicing! Smut was not the only focus, and I loved that! The plot and background goings on was great as well! That ending has me screaming!!!
Some insights: 🔥 Demonic Posession 🔥 Morallt Black Psychopath FMC 🔥 Religious Taboo 🔥 Scarrifcation/ Branding 🔥 Shock Factors
In short: Roxana's husband, Silas, is possessed by the Demon, "Not Silas", who has a breeding kink and she is loving it!
I saw a review after finishing this novella that said it leaned heavier on spice than story, and I have to disagree. For a shorter read, the balance felt spot-on, and the plot actually caught me off guard in the best way. The spice level? Immaculate. Deliciously intense, especially the dominance dynamic. And that church scene… holy hell. If I had pearls to clutch I would have been clutching them. Let’s just say those rosary beads took a very unexpected pilgrimage.
Roxanna’s once-electric marriage to her ex-professor husband, Silas, had grown stale until a near-death incident changed everything. Afterward, Silas began shifting between two distinct personalities, one familiar, the other darker and more commanding.
When Roxanna discovers a demon named Sangrel is possessing him, she’s forced to admit the unsettling truth: she might prefer the version of Silas that isn’t entirely her husband.
Roxanna was a sly, deliciously devious heroine, and I had a great time in her head. There’s a shadowed edge to her personality that made her POV especially fun to follow. I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of the “daddy” kink, but perhaps this demon daddy is the one exception. Sangrel…my goodness, he had no business being that compelling. I forgot we aren’t supposed to root for demons.
*ARC reader* This was short and sweet and full of smut 😍 I thought this was fantastic! I think this is my first demonic possession and I loved it! Also that nice twist at the end 😆 genius 🙌🏼. I thought this was the perfect length of book. Not super short and not super long to the point of dragging. I wish it would have gone a little more into the reason why her family is prone to having demons come to them.
This was brilliantly written! It is very 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ but so so good. I was enthralled and hooked from start to finish. Not only did I love the spice but I also loved the story as well!
I had no clue where this was going and was thoroughly, and pleasantly, surprised by the ending!
Demonic Delights by Margo Smythe was a spicy, multi-POV, paranormal, dark romance story that I really enjoyed. From that start, I knew that I was in for a WILD ride, and boy was I! The story was unique and creative in the very best of ways while also being well-written and paced. It's short and sweet, and can easily be read in one sitting. Despite the smut > plot dynamic here, I can honestly say that I did enjoy the plot that we did. I was fully invested in what was happening.
I recommend it, but as always, make sure to check out the TW's besties!<3
This book was great! It was a slow burn until it wasn't, but I was intrigued from the start. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and for me, Margo did an amazing job of making you understand the FMCs relationship and feelings.
The ending had me gripping phone wishing I could read faster due to being captivated. I already loved me a walking red flag, now I can add demons 😈 to the list. I always enjoy when a woman gets her needs met, I only wish there had been a little more, maybe one more chapter at the end after she mic dropped him.
Roxanna is married to Silas, her university professor, who is sixteen years older than her (for whom she even gives up uni education to be with). Over the years, their marriage has become stale as their connection becomes rather one-sided. She thinks she's not good enough for him. Their passion dulls, their relationship in doubt. But one day, he comes up almost a different man, yet still the same. Suddenly, he's the man she fell in love with in university. He's confident, charming, and dominant and gives her exactly what she's been craving. As their passion reignites, she's lets herself get carried away in the whirlwind... Will she send the demon back when she finds out the truth?
Roxanna is insane yet super intelligent, cold, and detached. The morally grey character in the marriage. Her personality is cunning and still likable. Strong and Fierce. She does have a warped dark side, but we get an insight to her upbringing and background to be the big factor. And I appreciate how she's unapologetically herself by the end with that plot-twist. I like her: she's unapologetically herself, unredeemable, and selfish.
Silas' POV is interesting because the guy is under the impression he's going absolutely bonkers. Good. Piece of sh-t. There are times when I just want to shake him and slap him. His audacity baffles me. Simmer down, please, Silas.
The Demon Sangrel yearns, obsesses, and craves her. I like how we get an insight into his POV as well, right from the beginning, and he's already on the prowl for her. He's animalistic, obsessive, and dangerously alluring. The tension he brings on the scene is charismatic and seductive. I'm equally obsessed with him.
Overall, it is dark, sinful, and absorbing. There is some plot and mostly smut, but I'm not complaining at all. The spicy scenes are so well written and left me reaching for my inhaler. The descriptions are good from scene to scene, making me finish the novella in one sitting because, for me, it's so immersive. There's a little bit of character development by the end. The characters are also well portrayed. And that twist at the end? I like it, I like it! I can't wait to find out what's next in store!
(This isn't a soft romance, so if it doesn't sound like your cup of tea, do skip it.) Now, if you like a dark paranormal romance involving demon possession that also has obsession, that has no redemption and a morally black FMC, demon daddy vibes, strong spice and a happy ever after, then this one is for you! The expected release is on the 24th of this month, so add it to your TBR, darlings!
