I was never meant to stay in Rose Ridge.
My father was the president of a notorious motorcycle club, so if something rattled him enough to request that I go, I should have listened.
In my defense, at the time, it seemed more terrifying to give up the only dream I ever had than to leave like everyone else.
I should have known that chasing that dream would lead back to the club, because everything in this town eventually did.
I wasn’t expecting to see a familiar face, glaring as usual, amidst the chaos surrounding the Stone Riders. For years, I had endured scowls, glares, and scoffs from Ford Ryan. However, there was something new and different about his heated stare, and even that oddly protective touch.
Something dangerous and addictive.
I should have left when I had the chance, because my proximity to Ford and the club meant I was close to danger. Even worse would be discovering exactly why Ford chose to stay when, out of all of us, he had every reason not to.

When You Stayed by Ashley Munoz eARC review 🩷

It was so fun being back in Rose Ridge. I have missed all of these characters and this was the perfect start to a second generation series.

If you love banter and ALL the pining, this is the book for you.

Royce and Ford have some of the absolute best back and forth and you can literally feel the tension radiating off of the page.

Ford is so down bad for his best friend’s ex and this man waits for her. He waits for YEARS for her to finally realize her feelings.

After some miscommunication and a lot of assuming, the two of them get their chance. BUT Royce’s dad, my man Killian, absolutely has something to say about that. He wants his daughters to have nothing to do with the Stone Riders, but it’s in her blood and there is just no way around it.

A great plot, the best banter, amazing spice, this one was really good!

What to expect:
Small town
MC romance
Enemies to lover
Obsessed
Best friend’s girl
Secret tattoo

Thank you so much Ashley and the Smuthood for the arc!

Ashley Muñoz delivers an unforgettable start to the Generations of Rose Ridge series with When You Stayed, a story that is equal parts intense, emotional, and completely consuming.

From the very first page, the atmosphere of Rose Ridge settles in around you. There is a sense of tension woven through the town, through the legacy of the motorcycle club, and through the lives of the characters who are tied to it whether they want to be or not. That tension never lets up, creating a constant undercurrent of anticipation and unease that makes it impossible to put the book down.

At the center of the story are Royce and Ford, whose relationship is layered with history, resentment, longing, and an undeniable pull toward each other. Their dynamic is beautifully written. It feels raw and authentic, with every interaction carrying weight. The emotional depth between them stands out, especially in the way their past shapes their present.

Ford Ryan is a standout character. His love is intense, protective, and unwavering in a way that feels both dangerous and deeply comforting. He is the kind of character who does not always say the right things, but his actions speak volumes. His connection to Royce is undeniable, and the way he holds onto her, even when it costs him, adds a powerful layer to the story.

Royce is equally compelling. Her determination to chase her dreams, even when it means standing in the face of fear and uncertainty, makes her incredibly relatable. Her internal struggle between leaving and staying, between independence and connection, is portrayed with emotional honesty.

The supporting characters add depth and richness to the story, especially for readers familiar with this world. Seeing characters like Wes and Callie, as well as Killian and Laura, adds a sense of continuity and expands the emotional scope of the book. It also creates anticipation for future stories within the series.

One of the strongest aspects of this book is its emotional impact. The story builds steadily, drawing the reader deeper into the characters’ lives, until it reaches a conclusion that is both satisfying and deeply moving. The final moments linger, leaving a lasting impression that stays with you long after you finish.

When You Stayed is a powerful, emotionally charged romance that blends tension, passion, and vulnerability in a way that feels effortless. It is a standout start to the series and sets the stage for what promises to be an incredible journey in Rose Ridge.

Ashley Munoz, take a bow...

Ok WOW. I almost forgot how much I enjoyed Ashley's phenomenal writing and the way she gets me so invested in her story telling - the way she weaves so much emotion into it - that I feel like it embeds itself into my marrow ❤️ I am a big fan of the Stone Riders MC series and am so happy we get more with the next generation 👏🏻

Did I read this in one sitting? Yes I did
Did I stay up until 2am to finish? Yes I did
Did I fist pump the air at one point? Absolutely
Did I annotate over half the book? Probably

This is a bit of a slow burn in the form of enemies to lovers, but with the perfect mix of angst, tension, obsession and pining that it doesn't feel so much like a slow burn but an inferno waiting to combust and when it does... it's deliciously satisfying 🔥

Royce is the daughter of the President of the Stone Riders MC and has been overprotected by her father her entire life. She is unapologetically herself even if she is a little misguided. Ford is a formidable presence in Royce's life and has been for years. She's his best friends ex and one he was never allowed to want. Secret tattoos aren't the only things he's kept hidden from her over the last decade 🥹 What makes this even more compelling is the fact they both had childhood crushes on each other but almost couldn't admit it to each other as adults.

I also love how the previous generation of Stone Riders have been perfectly woven into this new world. Killian even has his own POV and it's gut wrenching!

I am more than excited to be back in Rose Ridge and can't wait for the next one!

If you love enemies to lovers, small town, motorcycle club, obsessed MMC, best friends girl and secret tattoo vibes then this book will not disappoint.

This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the Stone Riders MC series beforehand to get a good grasp on the background of the club and their characters.

This book had me feeling everything. From anger, sadness, pain, and terror.

Ford is a hard man to read and an even tougher man to express his emotions especially to the woman he has loved for as long as he can remember.

Royce has always had a crush on Ford but when he started treating her with the cold shoulder she buried those feelings and moved on.

When trouble came knocking on their families MC their parents did what all parents did and protected them and wanted them to stay away from the life of the MC.

Royce's father tied her to the house with strict rules if she wanted to stay in their town and follow her dream.

Ford ditched his dreams and stayed for reasons he told no one.

The things that Ford said to Royce had me yelling at my phone in anger and telling him what he could do and where he could go. She was doing the best she could with the hand her father dealt her. He had no right to treat her that way.

Royce didn't keep tabs on Ford and didn't know he was the owner of the construction company in town.

They clash and when secrets are finally told and truths revealed they finally, finally let each other know where they stand. Gus helps of course.

The big thing in this book that got me is what Ford did to Royce. He was a JERK of epic proportions and Royce forgave him way too easily...he had some major groveling to do.

The story was written beautifully though. It flowed, there were no gaps, and no questions.

I cannot wait to see if my guesses on who book 2 is about. I think I know who it is and they have some serious answers to give if I am right.

Thank you so much Ashley for letting me read this one early and for letting me be on your amazing team!!

I received this ARC from Ashley Munoz of When You Stayed which is a small-town romantic suspense novel centered around Royce who stays in her hometown of Rose Ridge even after her father Killian which is the president of a dangerous motorcycle club the Stone Riders try’s and gets her boyfriend to propose to her to get her to leave. While chasing her dream of owning the Hollow which is a bar/ coffee shop where bands come and perform. she gets pulled back into the violent world connected to the Stone Riders MC and reconnects with Ford Ryan, a man who has always seemed cold and hostile toward her.

The story is about the growing attraction between Royce and Ford. The story has Danger and loyalty to the motorcycle club with their politics, secrets, and violence surrounding the Stone Riders for Ford and it also refers both to Royce’s decision to staying in Rose Ridge and to Ford’s deeper reasons for never leaving despite having every reason to escape which we find out is because he’s always loved her and feels like he was the only one who could protect her better
the book has Healing connections with two people with a history of learning to trust each other while surrounded by danger
This book also continues 6 years after the Rose Ridge Christmas story so it would be wise to read it so you are better prepared for this story. I gave this book 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and the spice is 🍆🍆🍆🍆🔥🔥🔥🔥
This book is written in Ashley’s usual style and has it all the emotional romance mixed with suspense, tension, family trauma, and protective-love dynamics. The ending did surprise me a little which appears to launch the “Generations of Rose Ridge” series which I’m so excited for so bring on the next book 📕

When you stayed by Ashley Munoz’s arc review.

This is the first book in the second generation of the beloved The Stone Riders Mc series. I absolutely adore the parents’ stories of mayhem and romance, and I can’t wait to see what kind of adventures their kids embark on. I was thrilled to be able to read this book early, as I’m a huge fan of the first series. Royce and Ford are the children of the characters from the first two books, so it was a joy to start with them. They’re an entertaining and intriguing pair, and their journey from enemies to lovers is a delightful slow burn. Their constant bickering reveals their deep obsession with each other.

This book was fast-paced and I thoroughly enjoyed the flow of the story. The mention and cameo of characters from the past series added to the enjoyment and made it even more interesting. I love the dynamic between Ford and Royce; it’s unique and truly special to read. I’m fascinated by their backgrounds and the way they interact with each other. Ford’s nickname for Royce is absolutely adorable.

The storyline was incredibly engaging and satisfying. I’m eagerly anticipating the next book in the series, as I’m hooked on the direction it’s taking. I’m so happy to be back with these characters; it feels like I never left. I can’t wait to see what comes next. Go check out Ford and Royce’s journey; you won’t be disappointed. It was a lot of fun, and I highly recommend it. It comes out on May 15th, so go check it out!

If you haven’t read any of the Stone Riders series, stop here and go back to the beginning with Where We Started. If you are all caught up, prepare yourself! I was excited to find out we were getting a look into the next generation of Stone Riders. These kids grew up together surrounded by their possessive dads and supportive and strong moms and their loyal MC family. Threats to the club sent most of the kids away when they were old enough to leave. Several remained to forge their own paths (and maybe cross paths). This is the story of Royce and Ford and a love that started when they were 9 and 10 years old. Teenage years left a divide. Now that they are adults and living separate lives, dreaming different dreams, there is a strong rift between them. As leadership changes at the Club become a necessity, it also paints a target on Royce’s back. Ford, of course, steps up to keep an eye on her. As the threats start to escalate, Royce and Ford discover their hate was never really hate and they may just have a shot at a future. Will the lies and secrets between them tear them apart as the threats catch up to them? You will have to read it to find out! Can’t wait for the next installment! This was a great read with lots of heat and suspense! Ashley Munoz has created a world with the Stone Riders that MC readers can get lost in.

Next Gen just blew my mind!

When You Stayed is book 1 in the Generation of Rose Ridge series. I was pumped when Ashley announced this series and that Killian's (he's my fav O.G) daughter was gonna be the FMC. It was just as good if not better than their parents.

Ford and Royce couldn't have been more perfect for each other. Both had childhood crushes on each other but refused to acknowledge it in each other even as adults. There are so many feelings and emotions, “hate” seems to be a big one. But when that tension snaps, holy smokes does it snap. Ford can finally claim Royce as his own, not allowing anyone including herself or even Killian (her dad) stop him. Swoon.

This book ran me through a gauntlet of feelings. It had drama, feelings of betrayal, anger, disappointment, love/hate, and found family. You get glimpses of the OGs and it was sweet if not aggravating at times (they can't let go) to watch them pass the torch. I have an idea on who's next and can't wait to see if I'm right!

Omg. Is this my new favorite in the Stone Riders world? I think so?! All I know is that I'm in love with Royce and Ford 😍 and this was a fantastic start to the second gen series! I did NOT want to put this book down, but I also hated to finish it so I took my time with it and read leisurely, absorbing every second of it. I seriously woke up sad the day after I finished it, because I knew I was done and had to start a new book 😂

You need to read the original Stone Riders series first. Ok you don't NEED to, but you really should because it sets this one up and that series is amazing. It's one of my favorites, so I was super excited for this one and I hoped it would live up to the original couples, but ahh it was even better than I expected!! I love this world and to be able to go so many years in the future and see all of my original favorites still thriving was everything! This book brought me all of the angst, emotions and slow burn I look for in a good book! Of course the spice was perfect, because Ashley knows how to write it, but the whole entire book was seriously perfect. A lot of my favorites have main characters that grew up together and this is now one of them! Go read this right now (after you've read the original series, because they're all must reads)!

10/10 do recommend if you love second generation characters creating chaos for their parents, living their lives in the world we saw created with the first gen, falling in love and making a mess out of everything!

When You Stayed tropes include
*MC Romance
*Touch her and become unalived
*Grumpy/Sunshine
*Enemies to Lovers
*Best Friend's Girl
*He is Obsessed
*Cat daddy

Royce is a ray of sunshine wrapped in pink, trying to follow her dreams and live her life where she loves. Ford is a grump, no one knows why he stayed instead of going off to college, or why he decided to join the MC. He is an enigma in leather holding a cat.

Royce and Ford were amazing. This was exactly what I would've expected from the children of Callie and Laura. Angsty slow burn until the tension snaps and boom, fireworks!
I wasn't ready for the story to be over. I CANNOT WAIT for the next book in the series, I'm desperate to see where this is going, I have so many questions about other things that are happening with the club and those around it!

Arc Review:

When You Stayed by Ashley Muñoz completely wrecked me in the best way possible.

This book has EVERYTHING:
🏍️ small town tension
🖤 enemies to lovers
🔥 secret crush energy
😮‍💨 obsession vibes
💥 motorcycle club elements that somehow make everything hotter

The chemistry between the characters was insane from the start, but what really got me was how emotional and immersive the story felt. Ashley Muñoz writes in a way that pulls you into every glance, every argument, every moment of tension until you feel like you’re living inside the story with them.

The characters felt real, messy, lovable, and completely addicting. Their dynamic had me kicking my feet one second and emotionally spiraling the next. The pacing, the atmosphere, the angst, the tension… all of it just worked so well together.

If you love romances that feel intense, emotional, and impossible to put down, this one deserves a spot on your TBR immediately.

Thank you for the ARC opportunity — this was an easy 5 star read for sure!

The stone riders series has been one of my top fav MC series and I’m so glad to have this continue on with the next generation. Ford is gosh he reminds me allot of his father! Royce also reminds me allot of her mother.
These two both had such big feelings for so long it annoyed me a lil how this all wouldn’t have been so difficult if they had just spoke up but I get it, Ford played the long game and in a way so did Royce because neither one of them every lost that love they had for each other.

I did not read the Christmas novella but now I’m going too I don’t think it will hinder the storyline but I would recommend reading it before so you get a better idea of who Max is even though we don’t see him in this one I feel like he’s coming eventually!

I love playing the who’s going to hook up with who when it comes to the other children of the of the OG’s! I think I’ve got Rook and Connor figured out but I’ll keep it to myself to avoid spoilers and also incase I’m drastically wrong haha

I loved the stone Riders MC and the second generation doesn’t disappoint because I absolutely adored when you stayed.

Wow! So this one follows Royce & Ford, their mum’s are best friends, they grew up together and along the way through teenage years; they grew apart and it turned into hate between them, due to hurt feelings, miscommunication and just the wrong time.
Years later they find themselves spending time together and it’s starts off their second chance but this time as adults.

The relationship between Royce and Ford was great. The way he longed and loved her was heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time.

The back and forth and pining between these to was great, the tension between them was intense, it really built up the just how deep their feelings were for one another.

All around this story was written amazingly, the story plot was solid and the characters old and new were fantastic, which all blended together so well.

I ♥️ FORD + ROYCE🥹

I am a sucker for a second gen series and when Ashely announced we were going back to Rose Ridge I absolutely lost it!! And to have the series start out with Callie and Wes’ son and Killian and Laura’s daughter?! PERFECTION! Literally read this book in less than a day I am so obsessed

I was so excited to read about these two especially after the little tidbits we got about the kids in Rose Ridge Christmas. The setup for these two was written so well and I was totally not expecting that prologue!! 👀👀

The back and forth between these two and the serious slow burn was sooo worth it when everything finally came to a head between Ford and Royce. Also never gonna get over the nickname🥹🥹🥹

I couldn’t have imagined a better start to the next gen of Rose Ridge and I cannot WAIT for this fall to read about who I think we’re gonna read about🫣

This second generation was everything…I absolutely LOVED it!!!
The mystery and drama in this book was perfect, it had a depth to the storyline and the characters. This is second generation but we get to see some of the first generation and how their lives have been going.
There are a few flashbacks in this book, the main characters were childhood friends, both of their parents were from the first generation books.
It was a good biker romance, had some drama that made it even better. It can be read as a standalone but the ‘mystery’ hasn’t fully been revealed/solved so looking forward to the next book in the series!

*I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, this is my personal and truthful review.

When You Stayed is a whirlwind of emotional baggage, danger, and unrequited feelings. Ford and Royce truly make you work for their HEA.

It’s one hit after another, with drama constantly unfolding before you can catch your breath. Their relationship is a rollercoaster of love and frustration, rooted deep in unresolved emotions that keep pulling them together—and pushing them apart.

At times, you’ll want to yell at them… or lock them in a room until they finally sort it out. But when they do, the chemistry between them is undeniable—hot, intense, and worth the wait.

Their family dynamics add another layer, bringing both humor and moments that make you cringe.

With danger relentlessly following them, their journey becomes an uphill battle—but when love finally finds its place, it takes strong and lasting roots.

Ford and Royce

He’s an A… and I had a really hard time with him.
He says he loves her, but the way he treats her says otherwise.
So many secrets. So many betrayals. I had no idea what was going to happen.
There were a couple of plot points that I absolutely saw coming, but I hurt for Royce. Everyone was hiding things from her, she was treated like a child, and the man who ‘loved’ her didn’t seem to respect her at all.

This is the start of the new series, and it’s looking like it will continue the main plot throughout. I’m interested to see who the next to fall is… will it be Rook and Ellie, or Taryn and Connor (not quite sure if that's how it will go, though)???

This absolutely hooked me. Even when I didn’t like the characters (or their actions), I just couldn’t put it down.

Thanks, Ashley, for the advance copy.

As an early reader I’m so proud and excited to say if you loved the OG Stone Riders series then you will be equally satisfied with the next gen…. Possibly more so.

As we meet the next gen we learn their stories. We see and hear from all the OG here.

We mainly learn that keeping all the kids safe from enemies is right where we left off. Some allegiances have changed. Some have stood on solid ground.

There is no love lost between Ford and Royce… or is there? When old enemies surface in new ways which put the kids in trouble we find out there’s always more behind the hate and indifference.

Name an emotion, it’s here. I honestly am one of those I need to re read the series before I start the next book girl. Didn’t happen here and it all just picked right up. Ashley has that way about her writing without it feeling like recap writing. Definitely a new series you shouldn’t miss

So this was my first Ashley Muñoz book and wow, what a treat! I sat down and devoured this in one sitting. I had the BEST time with Ford and Royce. The slow burn was executed perfectly, and it was such a great way to start the 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘙𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘦 series. I’ll definitely be going back to read the OG 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘙𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 series since this is second gen, but man oh man…Ashley can write a good MC romance. It scratched all my itches! I can’t wait to continue!

This was everything I hoped for and more. Ford and Royce launch the second‑generation Stone Riders series with so much heart, depth, and emotion. A lot has happened since we last saw the original crew, and discovering those changes piece by piece made the story even more engaging.
Ford is such a standout — his emotional journey is powerful, and the echoes of Wes Ryan in him are unmistakable. Royce is equally compelling, carrying Laura’s strength with a hint of Killian’s intensity. And speaking of Killian… his protective moments were some of my favourites.
Ashley delivers the perfect blend of answers and mysteries, setting up a series I already know I’ll be obsessed with. Ford and Royce bring all the feels, and once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I’m already desperate for book two.

This is my first time reading any of Ashley Munoz's books and I will definitely be reading more. I love this book, I read it in one day, I could not put it down. The tension and chemistry between the MCs was amazing, I love the storyline and I still have so many questions which should be answered in the following book. I appreciated that the world building didn't go on too long and she wrapped up the biggest plot points in this book while still leaving a good cliffhanger that will keep this in the back of my mind until the next book comes out. I highly recommend this if you are into angsty biker club romance books. I'm going to read the previous books in this series while I wait for the next one.

“F*ck, I was in love with her. She might as well have tugged my heart out and sewn it inside of hers.”

I have YEARNED to be back in Rose Ridge & Ashley did not come to play! What a way to kick off the 2nd generation! I was lucky enough to receive this ARC on Friday and I have DEVOURED it.

In true Ashley fashion, this was beautiful, with a side of chaos and left me chomping at the bit for more. I really need more!!

Slightly unhinged man who’s obsessed, secret pining, secret tattoos?! Ford Ryan, the man that you are!! & my sensitive, loving & determined girl Royce! Ugh what a duo!

I left no crumbs with this one, I love Ford & Royce & I can’t WAIT for what’s to come!

Thank you Ashley for this ARC, this universe is my second home and I’m so happy to be back!

This is the perfect small town romance with spice and suspense! This highly anticipated, second generation story, picks up with the same lovable characters but this time the story continues on with their kids. The longing, the angst and the suspense! I ate this book up and absolutely could not put it down. Ford Ryan is OBSESSED and I am here for it. I usually don’t like a miscommunication trope but in this case I think it is done well. Love the added POVs for first generation characters. Couldn’t wait to be back in Rose Ridge and I’m falling for these second generation characters almost as much as the originals. Can’t wait for the series to continue. I need to know what Taryn is up to!

Wow. When you stayed had me feel so many feelings! I experienced joy, sadness, anxiety and a little anger. Royce and Ford had such a rough road getting to their happily ever after. What started out as hate between the two turned out to be misunderstanding and jealousy.

This is the first of Ashley Munoz's books that I have read and now I want to go read them all! I had to read this book in one sitting. The storyline flowed so smoothly and nothing seemed out of place. That is such a hard thing to accomplish.

I cannot wait to see where Ashley is going to bring this second generation series. When you stayed left us on a bit of a cliff hanger and I cannot wait to see where this storyline progresses.

this first book is truly amazing It is following Ford that is The son of Wes and royce who is the daughter of Killian. this couple was truly amazing The first book in the series you hit it off right It was truly truly 100% what I thought it would be your MC romance series was good and starting off with Ford and had a feeling why he stayed and now that I know it truly was amazing how everything ended in the plot in this book and never in a million years will think who it was been a way I did but the person I thought it was truly wasn't but how head over heels Ford was for her and vice versa.. and truly couldn't kick off a new series like this book did. No I can't wait until more of the series come out So far Ford has always been my number one

Oh my gosh, I sure have missed this world! This book was so good and it had me feeling all of the feelings!! Reading about all the kids all grown up and getting peeks of the parents here and there was so fun! Royce and Ford’s story is chefs kiss! I love the enemy to lovers/ it’s always been you! Royce is such a badass although everyone sees her as a spoiled little princess! And Ford, oh Ford, he is perfect! We love an obsessed man who will do ANYTHING for his woman! Also I love the nickname that Ford has for Royce (swoon)! Oh and can’t forget adorable little Gus!

This book kept me on edge and I couldn’t put it down! That cliffhanger at the end- ooof I need book 2 already!

Y’all go read this when it comes out on May 15th!! 💙📚😍

I dove in without reading the first generation first and I still enjoyed this book. But now I wanna go and start from the beginning to get more background on everyone.
Ford and Royce have been friends for as long as they can remember. Royce is strong and willing to fight for what she wants. Ford is willing to make a sacrifice to keep who he loves the most, safe. Neither realized that their choice would affect the other. Royce isn't good with secrets being kept from her (like any woman is). Ford has got to grovel and fight more then ever for Royce. And cute Gus helps him just a little with Royce.
I definitely cannot wait to read book 2 .

ARC received from Author for review

When You Stayed is the story that seems like an enemies to lovers but really is something more. When everyone was supposed to leave Royce refused so she could follow her dream, Ford also stayed and no one really knew why. Through some miscommunication and finally some real communication they discover that each other is what they always wanted. I liked this story, it was not the take I was expecting and the author left some lose strings that will tie into the coming stories well. The spicy scenes are there but don't over take the plot. If you like some tension and build up before they resolve feelings this will be your cup of tea.

Such a great start off for this second generation series. I first fell in love with Wes Ryan and could not imagine a better man that would wait for his one true love. Well his son blew it out of the water. I love Ford so much! He is just the perfect book boyfriend. Royce is a great mix of her mother and father. She has the stubbornness of her mother, but can hold a grudge similar to her dad.

I am excited for this series and to see where this series will go moving forward and how this generation will deal with the issues that are coming their way.
