As this is the sixth book in the series, I’ve gotten to know a little about Xander Hawke, but not a lot, he’s a pretty closed book so I enjoyed getting to know him and discover he has a heart in this, his story.
Last we heard he’d gone rouge during a mission, with the guys not knowing where he was or what was happening, or even if he was alive, we find out in this.
We get an up close look at how tough and disciplined Xander is and when his sworn enemy’s sister breaks him out of captivity to save herself, the connection he has with Essie and the protectiveness that surfaces is something to behold.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Charissa Gracyk book without breathtaking action sequences, and this doesn’t disappoint.
I loved Ms Gracyk’s cruel pleasure of putting both characters through situations that deal with their greatest fears, I’m still chuckling at the banter when Xander is in the ocean.
Only one left to fall from this motley crew and it will be sad for it all to be over, I’ve really enjoyed every book in this series.

What is it about broody, moody men? Xander’s personality and CIA background make him the most intriguing member of the Motley Crew. It’s satisfying to finally read his story and find out who Xander really is underneath his rough exterior.
Revenge is the motivation for Xander’s plans, and they do not go as he had hoped. That is until Essie offers help. She is sweet, innocent, and beautiful. Their escape and attraction to each other gets interesting when he discovers she’s the sister of his enemy. Is the attraction between them strong enough to overcome that fact?
It was surprising to see Xander in a way I never thought we would. My favorite parts are when he has moments of reflection about his life and fears. The vulnerability and emotions were unexpected, but those feelings, along with the physical connection between him and Essie, heated up the pages and made us feel their affection.
The sweet romance and action blended together perfectly, and I absolutely enjoyed the book. The All Guts, No Glory series is as good in book 6 as it was in book 1.

Xander is the latest in the All Guts, No Glory series, and just like the other five books, it can definitely be read as a standalone. That said, I’d still recommend starting from the beginning—it really helps you build that emotional connection with the characters and makes this story hit even harder.
In this one, Xander is out for revenge and finally has the chance to get it—but of course, things don’t go as planned. Love steps in at the most unexpected time, and it completely turns his world upside down. Watching that shift in him was one of my favorite parts of the book.
This story is packed with heart-pounding action and just the right amount of romance. It’s one of those books that pulls you in so much, you end up ignoring all your adult responsibilities because you have to keep reading.
Overall, if you’ve been following this series, this is a must-read. And if you’re new to it, this is still a great place to jump in—but don’t be surprised if you end up going back to read the rest.

I am loving the All Guts, No Glory series. Every single book is better than the one before, and it’s virtually impossible to choose a favorite. Every couple steals my heart, and Xander and Essie stole it almost right from the start.
I absolutely love Xander. He has been a bit of a mystery to me. To be honest, when we first met him in the series, I thought him a somewhat of a jerk—arrogant, almost as though he thought he was better than the rest of the Motley Crew. I could not have been more wrong! It’s a skilled author who can make you love a character you really didn’t care for, and I am so thrilled that Ms. Gracyk made me love him. His story is gut wrenching at times, and it was a good lesson to not judge others without knowing their story, because you have no idea what they’ve been through in life.
Essie is the perfect heroine for Xander. Unlikely, for sure, since she’s the sister of the man Xander is determined to put an end to, but she’s courageous, sweet, resilient, loving, and she doesn’t back down. The chemistry between these characters is so strong!
This story was a thrilling adventure, with a lot of danger and suspense, but it was also such a beautiful, steamy love story. It’s my new favorite, and I highly recommend it.

Xander is an alpha guy, but as a female reader I think you'll be rolling your eyes at his antics! Crazy behaviour and revenge has him thinking he can win against his enemy but then finds himself a prisoner by the very person he's been trying to kill. Unexpectedly he finds an ally, and this is where the action ramps up, he finds love, is rescued, his team rally round and once again there is more danger. A great romp through which will have the reader immersed and routing for him to win through. Another great book from Charissa Grayck.

Absolutely loved this. Xander has been such a mystery since the first book and I missed him in the last one. His story is so powerful and heartbreaking, and I was hoping he was gonna get his revenge. Lex is next and he’s been such a funny character, I’m so eager to know more.

I have been looking forward to Xander’s story for what feels like forever, and I can honestly say that it surpassed every wish. Charissa Gracyk has once again surpassed herself and brought us an absolutely amazing read that will blow you away because Xander and Essie’s journey is such a beautiful and heartfelt one.
Xander has been something is an enigma in previous books, he seemed to hold himself separate to a degree with the other guys. Just there on the periphery, part of the group but not of the found family they’d formed.
My heart bled for the past he’d endured and while I understood him devoting his life in search for justice, my heart ached for his total focus on his pain and grief.
He’s such a strong and determined character. He’s a definite protector but he has blinkers on of sorts, I mean, who can blame him given the circumstances, but I was so afraid that he was so focussed that he wouldn’t allow anything else to penetrate that veil of retribution and determination.
I think that’s why he had so much trouble bonding with the guys. His inability to see past the anger for revenge was robbing him of the life he deserved.
Such a beautifully damaged man who acted without thinking at times because he couldn’t see past his need for justice.
Essie is such a beautiful character. She hasn’t allowed her life and the people in it to affect the inner light she has, and I think that takes an inner strength that we all wish we had.
Her strength and determination led her to take a huge risk, but she stood tall and proud and took the move that she knew was the only way to save herself. In my opinion that was the most awe inspiring thing I’ve witnessed.
She took accountability for the pain and grief of others, even though they were not her cross to bear. I so wanted to reach through them pages and reassure her that the catastrophic behaviour of her sibling was not on her shoulders. That she had an inner glow and warmth that could penetrate the hardest of souls. She was everything that was good in the world and she did t deserve to carry the guilt for someone else’s behaviour and actions.
Watching Xander and Essie traverse their path, ladened with rocks and danger was so addictive and compelling. Seeing Xander allow something besides grief to guide him was heartbreakingly beautiful. And watching Essie go toe to toe with Xander when needed was a beautiful sight. Having a front row seat to their HEA was a true honour. I loved the strength Xander gave Essie, and the ability to see something other than his need for vengeance was beautiful.
I loved that despite his need to hold himself apart from the guys they were all there for him, without a seconds hesitation they supported him and worked as one single entity to find justice.
Once again Charissa Gracyk has knocked it out of the proverbial park and given us a heart rendering read that will shred your heart and put it back together, stronger than it was before.
Thankyou Charissa Gracyk, it was an honour to read and Xander will definitely be taking up permanent residence in my heart.

We are back with the Motley Crew, a group of middle aged elite Special Forces warriors and a former CIA, who have created their own special brotherhood while adjusting to civilian life . Their intent is to hire out to protect those in need.

A man that didn’t let anyone in, even those in the brotherhood he had recently joined.

To be honest, I don’t normally pick up Silver Fox tropes, but when my one-click author creates a whole series, you know I just had to dive right in.
Xander is exactly the kind of romantic suspense I love: dangerous, emotional, fast-paced, and packed with tension from the very beginning. Charissa Gracyk knows exactly how to weave all those themes into one heart-gripping, heart-breaking, and heart-pounding book.
Xander is a hero driven by revenge, but beneath all that vengeance is so much pain and loyalty that you can’t help but ache for him.
Essie is just as compelling. She is trapped in a terrifying world and desperate for freedom, but what I love about her is that she is no damsel in distress. Her courage, vulnerability, and determination make her the perfect match for Xander. Their escape through cartel territory creates so much intensity, and the chemistry between them builds into a scorching passion.
I loved the enemies-to-lovers tension, the hidden identity, the danger, and the found-family elements. But what I will eat all day long is the “touch her and die” energy. Just nom nom nom nom all day, every day!
The romance feels passionate yet meaningful because both characters are fighting for more than just survival. They are fighting for a future neither one thought they could have.
This book delivers action, emotion, heat, heartbreak, and redemption. A five-star read for anyone who loves high-stakes adventure romance with a protective hero and a heroine brave enough to risk everything for freedom.

After the last book in this series, Jayson, I knew that Xander was in trouble. What I didn't expect was the lengths he would go to seek vengeance. He allows himself to be captured by the head of the cartel who murdered his sister.
Once captured, he endures repeated beatings meant to break him. Days blur together, and just as Xander begins to believe he won’t make it out alive, Estrella—the cartel leader’s sister—appears. She offers him a way out, a chance at survival that also frees her from being forced into a marriage arranged to secure her brother’s alliance with a ruthless rival.
This begins a cat and mouse game with the cartel leader to get back his sister and Xander. What Xander does not know however is that Estrella, Essie, is the cartel leaders sister. The journey out of cartel territory is dangerous and unpredictable, and as the two of them navigate betrayal, violence, and shifting loyalties, what began as a reluctant partnership slowly becomes something more.
This is a great story that has to be read. I thought Xander was crazy for allowing himself to be captured, and I was right! There is quite a bit of action with a bit of romance thrown in to keep the reader engaged and I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! I highly recommend this book for those who love a fast paced book that keeps you guessing until the end.

The journey out of cartel territory is dangerous and unpredictable, and as the two of them navigate betrayal, violence, and shifting loyalties, what began as a reluctant partnership slowly becomes something more.
This is a great story that has to be read. I thought Xander was crazy for allowing himself to be captured, and I was right! There is quite a bit of action with a bit of romance thrown in to keep the reader engaged and I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! I highly recommend this book for those who love a fast paced book that keeps you guessing until the end.

I knew it!! Xander is absolutely fantastic
From the beginning of the first book in this series I was fascinated by Xander.
Having this mysterious and dangerous vibe around him made him my favorite character and I couldn’t wait to find out what made him like this.
Well now I know and I totally understand why he did what he did.

I loved Essie and how she was willing to do anything to help Xander and in doing so also helped herself and her little brother Tomas.
Xander really deserved someone like her!
I don’t want to give away to much but Xander had a difficult childhood and after his little sister was ruthlessly abused and killed by the leader of the cartel Xander wanted revenge.
But after meeting Essie revenge is not all that he wanted…

So glad to have Xander’s story! If you have read other books in this series, you will know that Xander disappeared during the last book and the rest of the team feared the worst. In this book, we get what happened when he disappeared.

Oh Xander! When you look up tortured hero in the dictionary, you’ll find his name. The man has some hardcore baggage in his past, and my heart went out to him.
The plan he comes up with of getting captured as a way to get close to his nemesis so he can destroy him? Unconventional, brave and a little crazy…which pretty much sums up a good portion of his character. Add in damaged, guarded, and an underlying noble streak, and you have a multi-faceted character you can’t help but root for.
The only woman who could be a perfect match for him was Essie. Strong and determined, she gives as good as she gets, which was exactly what Xander needed to throw him off his guard and allow her to slip under his defenses. Each one was the balm for the other’s wounded pieces, and ended up being the glue that put them back together and made them whole.
Plenty of action and steam along with the angst made for a well-rounded story and a satisfying, makes-you-smile ending which both of the characters so deserved.

I loved this revenge-driven romance! Xander Hawke’s story is my favorite of the Motley Crew’s so far. It’s action packed but emotionally driven. Once you pick it up you won’t be able to put it down! I couldn’t stop turning the pages because every happy moment feels like it might be ripped away.

Loved this story about the mysterious, ex-CIA agent Xander Hawke. From the previous books, it was obvious that something had happened in his past that was driving him and causing him to put his life danger multiple times. Which led to him being locked in a prison cell underground by the cartel king Barrera.
Estrella knows her brother is evil and when she overhears him making plans to marry her off to another drug lord, she knows she needs to escape. So she makes a deal with the stranger who is locked up in the tunnel - she'll let him out if he takes her to safety.
Thus begins their journey to escape through the jungle while avoiding not only the deadly creatures but also Barrera's men. What they didn't count on was the chemistry between them. There were scenes that had me holding my breath wondering if/how they would escape, some pretty steamy moments, and plenty of action. I love how the Motley Crew has each other's backs.

If there is such thing as a morally grey green flag, that is exactly what Xander is. He went from a blip on my radar to one of my favorite characters this author has written! And his story, man his story, it shook me. So deeply rooted in revenge, he was fully cloaked in it, almost like a mask he wore, and now we finally start to see who he is under it all.

This one just grabs a hold of you and doesn't let up, from chapter to chapter, one pulse pounding moment to the next. Somewhere between swearing and snake flinging I was a goner! I knew Essie was done for too, head over heels for the possibly crazy man she escaped with, who wouldn't be?

This series keeps getting better and better! Charissa Gracyk is a instant click author for me when I come across her books! The tropes that she puts together in her stories, gives us a story to remember!

Well, Xander Hawke, you did not disappoint! Xander disappeared for a bit from the Motley Crew and he was being held as a captive.
He’s got murderous vendettas on his mind and he’s a little impulsive which leads him to his situation as a captive.
Essie is very sheltered, and a good soul amongst terrible people. She flees with Xander after Xander agrees to get her out and help them both escape. What happens along the way and back again, is a lot of danger, both MC’s facing their worst fears but in the end, an HEA is had by Xander, his morally grey self, and Essie. This ends in a way that I want for Xander because he’s been through a lot in his life and it’s just a happy HEA!

When Xander was being held captive by the Cartel, he was given a proposal that if he helped Essie, the leader's sister, she would help him escape.
That connection that was between Xander and Essie was so priceless. You could really dive into the romance and be happy. Both a slow build that grew into a real understanding between them both but an attraction that boiled as well.
I really liked the action sequences and there were a fair few of those, as well as the intimate moments.

Estrella (Essie) and Xander find each other at the perfect time; they both need to escape her brother, Jose. At the beginning, Xander does not realize that Essie is the sister of the man he has sworn revenge upon (and his whole family); he just wants to get her to safety. Essie knows that Xander wants to kill her brother, and she fully supports that plan, but she worries he will no longer want her when he finds out who she is. Luckily, Xander quickly figures out that protecting Essie is more important than revenge. Expect a wonderful, fast-paced story, a little bit of revenge, and the perfect amount of spice. Enjoy!

Oh Xander! My heart was broken for him in the first chapter, and it did not take long for all of his crazy behavior to make some kind of sense. He put himself in a very precarious position in hopes of finding his revenge, but instead, Essie found him and ultimately brought him healing and redemption. In the process and with the help of his found family, he saved her from a horrible future and helped her save what family she had left. I loved the way he came to realize just how important to him the Motley Crew had become and how he finally embraced love, life and his happily ever after.
