Now it won't let go of her.

Nyra doesn't trust the system, the wrinkles and crinkles in Command or the Codex and definitely not...

Commander Kaien Varric: Eathbind titanblood. Built like war and twice as controlled.
Operative Theron Vale: Stormfield chaos wrapped in a grin and lightning.
Operative Cassian Rhyne: Celestial transmission spark. Too sharp. Too observant and three steps ahead
Operative Eryndor Kaelith: The quiet shadow who watches as if he knows what's about to happen

Together, they are the only thing standing between her and relics powerful enough to rewrite the world.
Depper they go, clever it becomes the Codex isn't just reacting Nyra.
But responding to all of them.

This is book one of "The Codex Trilogy" it's a special ops mission where the FMC will not have choose between the love interest with no M/M. The book will end on a cliffhanger.

"I was mad," I say. "At myself. At the Codex At the fact that I lidn't die and then immediately wanted to climb four men who almost did."

This was a journey from the jump.

The premise of this is so intersteting from the the sentient all knowing Codex, to the frequencies that link everyone together, to the messy but fun why choose aspect.

This thrusts the reader into the world head first. I will admit I had to reread the first few chapters, because I felt lost at reading such a new world. It is a layered world the reminds me of the matrix. I really wanted to grasp it, but was having a hard time at first. Once I turned my brain off and read for pure vibes, I really got sucked into the storytelling and the character arcs.

That being said, I really liked the dynamic of all the characters. It is a true why choose and a fun journey for the reader. I really liked that there is some playful banter and snark. It was a great contrast to such heavy world building.

I do suggest giving this unique read a go and keeping a open mind.

A complex and fantastical world ruled by the Codex and a FMC who could break the world apart but likely also shatter herself, be warned, this one ends on a cliffhanger.

You follow the FMC, who after 2 years in relative isolation away from the team of men who pulled her back from the brink, and also cared enough to let her go, is forced to return by her leadership because the same signs of something going wrong are appearing again. She must face the fact that the men she left behind will do anything for her, even risk themselves and face the power within her that grows the more time she spends with them. With someone clearly pulling the strings behind the scenes, it’s a race against time to figure out what their ultimate goal is and figure out this bond among her and the four men in her team.

I always enjoy a multiple love interest and why choose where each of the men are very different and have their own personalities and really liked getting to see inside each of their heads with the multiple POVs. You are very much dropped into the middle of the story and you get to discover how the world works and the magic system as their mission progresses and more about the main characters past as they each unload some of the trauma it caused them. There were several twists and plots within plots going on and slowly revealing who the true villain was and what the FMCs true life path was leading to was exciting and that cliffhanger has me waiting for what’s next! Overall my rating 4/5!

Thanks to the author for the gifted copy, all opinions given are my own!

The codex of shattered light is a complex fantasy world ruled by the codex and has a powerful FMC who could literally tear the world apart but also ends on a cliffhanger that left me needing book two immediately...

After spending two years away from the four men who once pulled her back from the edge, our FMC is forced to return when the same dangerous signs start appearing again. As old bonds reignite, she has to face the fact that these men would do anything for her even if it means risking themselves against the growing power inside her. With someone clearly manipulating events from the shadows, it's a race to uncover the truth behind their connection and what it all means.

I love a good why choose romance, and I loved that each of the men had their own distinct personalities. The multiple POVs added so much depth, and I really enjoyed getting inside everyone's heads. You're thrown right into the story and slowly piece together the world, magic system, and the characters complicated pasts as the mystery unfolds. It can be a little complex in the beginning but stick with it because it is worth the read in full.

There were twists, secrets, and plenty of plot within plot moments that kept me hooked. Watching everything come together while discovering the FMC's true path was so much fun and that ending? Absolutely cruel in the best way.

Thank you to the author and Grimm & co for the copy, I really enjoyed this read

What an interesting read this book was. The storyline is written nicely and has potential. I will say that were some moments in this that I struggled with following because it was a little confusing to understand what was being said, while there were other times that it was easy to follow along. Aside from that I liked the characters they were intriguing. And I also liked that this was a multiple love interest why choose romance with some twists and turns along the way. The multi layers in this story build things up strategically placing bits and pieces to keep you guessing who the villain is or what is exactly going on. Overall, this was a pretty decent read. I look forward to the next in the series. Thanks so much to Grimm & Co and the author for a copy of this. All opinions are my own and freely expressed.
