American illustrator and comic book artist best known for his comics featured in Heavy Metal magazine. He won the 2009 Spectrum Grand Master Award. In 2012 he was elected to the The Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame.

به شدت کار تمیز و قشنگیه. من همیشه طرفدار اقتباسِ غربی‌ها از آثار خاورمیانه بودم و هستم، تقریبا همیشه جالب در میاد. این هم یکی از اون‌هاست، به طرز جالبی اون ذهنیت و طراحی سایکدلیکِ ریچارد کربین دقیقا به داستانِ سندباد می‌خوره. بیشتر از اینکه شبیه کمیک باشه، من رو یاد انیمیشن‌های رالف بکشی انداخت؛ از بس حرکات و نور و رنگ همون شکلی بود که توی آثار انیمیشنی اون دوران بودن (البته به هر حال همونا رو هم کربین طراحی میکرد، خیلی نمیشه متفاوت دیدشون).

این چند ماه از کربین خیلی کمیک خوندم، اصلا ناامیدم نمیکنه و نکرده. میخوام وقتی همشونو خوندم سعی کنم یک مطلب طولانی تر و کامل تر در موردشون بنویسم.

La historia que Simbad no contó en las mil y una noches. Fiel al espíritu de las clásicas permite el lucimiento de Corben dibujando monstruos, demonios, mujeres hermosas y paisajes donde el color parece venido del espacio.

Tot i l'elogi que li dedica Harlan Ellison al pròleg, servidor no ha congeniat ni amb el dibuix ni amb la història. Clarament, el Metal Hurlant més decebedor fins al moment.

Originally serialized in Heavy Metal magazine. This should really be called the Last Voyage of Sinbad as it is his story, rather than a collection of tales. The story is an excellent one, perhaps a bit racier than the original, but it certainly captures the magical feel of the first book. Corban's art is superb here, as always, mixing his style with an acid-colored appeal. Certainly recommended to anyone who remembers the old magazine.

I know it's kind of outdated stuff now, but this was a fun fast-paced and interesting take on the tales of Sherharazad. Sexist, over the top, but still fun.
