I kept getting ahead of myself and closing the book to think what was going to happen next, had the perfect amount of suspense and romance, Wish the book series had more, Would be a great gift and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean historical romance with a little bit of suspence.

A Very Good Book

I enjoy all of Colleen Coble's books. This book, set in the late 1800's, was quite different, but very realistic. It held my attention and fed my imagination as all her books do.

This is 6 books, all released as novellas that ties together in one collection of stories. They were very quick easy reads and sweet stories about two different women who lives overlap a bit. There was a bit of mystery and heartache in the stories. I enjoyed the historical journey the women went on. If you want something quick to read these books would fit.

I read this as 6 novellas starting in August & ending Set. 11. They were good, clean, entertaining & enjoyable. I've always loved stories on the frontier & this fit the bill. I will probably read more from this author.

This second half of this series is not about the same characters in the first half of the series. It is about other characters, some of whom we met in the first three books.

There is betrayal and tragedy, but it comes to good due to the support of a Native American woman.

Alright

I have always enjoyed books written by Coleen Coble. However, this book does not rank as one of my favorites. This post Civil War frontier story, lacks on the page turning quality that I have grown to enjoy from this author.

So… did Emmie ever tell Isaac about Monroe being a bigamist? That whole line seemed like it was just dropped.

Wonderful books, very Western, set in the 1860's. Lots of families, action, romance, and Christian stuff all thrown in together in this series, definitely recommend!

Colleen Coble is a great writer!

Every book I've read by Colleen Coble is written with well-developed characters and a strong plot. This series is no exception although they are her first books. I am running out of books written by her that I haven't read.

This was such a great story of love, faith and redemption. There was deception, betrayal, danger, and Indian wars, but through it all, God was faithful and love strong.

Not a bad collection of 6 book but it leaves me with the feeling that I have been listening to a soap opera! Interesting collection of books, but very sophomoric!

A generous 3.5⭐️ — audiobook
Narrator — 2⭐️

I wish the publisher or Colleen Coble would change to a different narrator. She reads with the same misapplied inflections and voice for nearly every character. I like the author and the clean stories, which is why I keep coming back to her books, but I could easily do without the monotonous reading. May have to change to borrowing the ebooks from the library instead.

6 books in one. Clean. No foul language. Good storyline, in general, not my quite idea of an interesting topic, but it made me want to continue knowing the ending for all the characters. Life immediately after the Civil War, nefarious deceptions, hard choices, traveling cross-country to forts in the west surrounded by Native American tribes, all works out prettily in the end. Life isn't like that, but hey, this is fiction.

It was an okay listen, but wouldn't again.

I have yet to read a book by Colleen Coble that I do not like. This series did not disappoint at all. Though it's a bit more emotional than some of the other series and books I have read by her, I still loved it.

It's a remarkable series with the same recurring theme of God's grace for us, unconditional love, restoration, and healing. It's a great read but keep tissues close at hand.

Now, I'm off to start her Aloha Reef series.
